Fucking great - wasn’t expecting to love it this much
I absolutely love this cover... Particularly the outro, which I think I might possibly like better than bowies original, honestly. Its just a different vibe. Bowies outro sounds like youre frantically trying to "fix" something thats wrong with your spacecraft as you uncontrollably drift off into space at the end... Brandi's version sounds much more like youre wistfully accepting your new journey into the cosmos, watching the pale blue dot of earth fade into obscurity, thinking of the ones you love.
My favorite version remains the one sung by the Canadian astronaut on the space station. Chris Hadfield may be his name.
