    I woke up this morning hearing part of this song playing in my head. I got my phone out and googled "here I am sitting in a tin can" to see if I could find the song. Tears came to my eyes and I felt at peace. My father passed away last month and for some reason this song resonates with me. I have been so down since he left and to be honest quite lost and lonely. I'm not sure why I am sharing these feelings here, but talking about my dad makes me feel better. I've never felt this way in my life. I'm 42 and my father was 75 years old. Everyone tells me it will get better and it's normal to grief but it hasn't yet. The only thing that has helped me from being so upset I'm sorry to say has been drugs. I know it's just numbing me and it's not the right thing to do. I hope anyone reading this can relate. Life is so short and unfair at times but I know deep down there's a way through the mess. I was happy once and will be again at some point. Don't ever give up on yourself, you'll make it through the mess. Love you Dad

    • @CuttingGrass___

      You were happy once and u will be happy again. Life won't always be good, but it won't always be bad either. Ur litreally still breathing for a reason, there's something for you. It's ok to grief, it's part of life. You will heal, and you will stop taking drugs. Everything will be alright, not just saying this to make u feel better, I'm saying this because i beleive it

    • @MariBuilt
      @MariBuilt 14 днів тому

      No it doesn't get better. A little like learning to walk with an amputated limb for the rest of your life. I won't mind if you don't believe this next thing. I scarcely believe it myself. Some of the dead seem to having been communicating with me now and then. One thing in common: it's perfect where they are now except they feel bad that you're sad due to a misconception. Death is NO barrier to love

    • @KyleCoucom
      @KyleCoucom 8 днів тому +1

      You’ll be ok. Your dad would be more sad that you’re on drugs and if he was owt like my grandad he’d say shut up ya crackpot and get on with it and enjoy life. I was here before you was here and I’ll be gone when ya you’re still here.
      So love yourself. Pick yourself up wipe yourself down. You’re strong and one day you’ll look back and smile. You need a good distraction. Youe not old. If youve got a man and he’s crap get rid and get another one that will make you feel happy and if you haven’t got a hobby get one so you can meet new people plenty of classes etc if you look or do some volunteering work to help people. (This makes loads feel happier)
      It’s ok too hurt but putting yourself around sad songs all the time. You’re not going to allow yourself
      To heal properly. The off few sad songs are on its apart of the healing process but you will move on and if not then please move on so you can grow)
      Sending online hugs. Now go live your life for your dad and show him you’re strong just like him

    "For here am I sitting in a tin can, far above the world, planet earth is blue and there is nothing I can do"........when the song breaks into this gorgeous harmony with these words, I always tear up. Our relatively short voyages into space are truly in space ships not unlike a fragile tin can. The astronaut, Tom, is at a distance from Earth far enough to feel a profound sense of being separated from everything he has known and he is completely aware that "there is nothing" he can do to guarantee his safe return to his beautiful, blue planet. Just lovely and heart rending.....
