This is my very first time listening to Brandi Carlile because the grammys brought me here and to hear such wonderful talent, felt like I'm been sleeping under a rock.
She has grown so much as a performer and songwriter over the years. Watch some of her earlier videos and performances, but ABSOLUTELY be sure to watch her performance of The Joke on the Grammys in 2019. She's brought me to tears many times, but that one was otherworldly. Hope you enjoy!

So funny how many people are just finding out about Brandi Carlile. As a long time fan since "The Story" times, I will never understand why it took so long for Carlile to be recognized as the massive super star she is.
I forgot about her until I rewatched the movie the lucky one recently and it's on the soundtrack. Always loved 'the story'

Looked this up due it winning a Grammy last night. Not what I was expecting for 'rock' but still sounds great! More country than rock in my opinion but great music is great music at the end of the day. So congratulations!!

This is country? To me, it sounds more like folk rock, with perhaps a bit of country flavor. More specifically sounds like she was strongly influenced by artists like Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, Patti Smith, and the like.
