- This thing could have only been invented in the 1960's
Take a look at this piece of history with us, made by #ronson. This lighter(?) goes in your #car and hopefully doesnt catch it on #fire under normal operation.
Dont smoke. Its bad for you. Nothing about this video endorses it. If anything, it's parodying it. - Авто та транспорт
It's a great addition to any period classic car, who wouldn't want one today?!
This is an awesome video guys! Thanks for putting this out there.. I learned a lot today
It's a safety device, push a button and get a lit smoke otherwise you have to pull your pack of smokes get one out of the package and then light it. Helps to keep at least one hand on the wheel.
A safety device that produces a fire lol. A few times off camera, this thing did hang up and if it lit it could light the rest of the contents of the hopper on fire lol. This was something no one always asking for at the time.
@@DaddysMoneyGarage That's what the beer is for just in case it catches on fire.
Smokin video Austin! Cool history there! Awesome collection of lighters! But that dispenser/lighter is awesome! I've never saw one! Thanks for sharing!
I remember sitting in my friend´s dad 70s Mercedes as a kid, and looking at chromed ashtrays on the rear doors,
thinking "damn, this car is high luxury"
Like I said in the community post, now you need a vacuum ashtray too that empties in to a glass jar in the engine compartment.
Love the shirt option’s you choose it’s like your always on vacation
Got to admit, it is a fascinating mechanical novelty item.....
It was meant to impress the ladies not save time. Lighting a gals cigarette was a thing back in the day. Take that for what it's worth
If you had that and a Muntz 8 track mounted next to it you were a baller back then 😂
@@428eliminator3 The customized van scene was on a whole other level 💕 👄
I remember seeing one of these a million years ago and seeing it work. But in all honesty I thought it was rolling them as well, like an automatic cigarette machine that rolled it up, and spit it out lit.
I didn't know that you had to put the cig's in it, and it just lit them...... lol.
I'd like to have one that shoots out pre-lit doobies. Of course you couldn't have it in your car, unless you want trouble. But it could be mounted in my money garage. This thing, with a push of a button, could become a real crowd pleaser.
My Lexus LS-400 has (unused) rear passenger Ashtray&Lighters so I put USB power converters in both sockets - It's impresses people that a 26 year old Luxury Sedan had built-in USB charging ports.
Awesome, man using technology to solve problems we didn't know existed.
My grandmother, and a huge chunk of my family would've loved to have that!
Now I have to have one. For the kids ya know.
That’s nifty as a cigarette machine! Never saw that one before!
Entertaining video- In all my 69 years, I never knew such an obscure and interesting device existed! Seeing it work was cool, however I STOPPED- smoking about 25 years ago!
That’s even cooler than the factory record player In my sisters 1957 New Yorker.
Thats a sweet vintage lighter. I like the scripto with pin-ups also.
I was waiting on this video. High tech! Good job
Great video guys
I really, really advise you not to install this in your car, because some crackhead will steal it thinking it's an expensive stereo tape deck. It happens.
Thank God I never took up smoking 🚭
But it is a cool gadget
Great video. That is so cool. I have never seen one of those before.
I have never seen such a device. I can say the decline of ashtrays and lighters in cars have become non existant.
It's more likely to start the car ablaze from melting your 50 year old wiring than from the lit cancer stick.
There was a ton of neat odd-ball car performance parts and accessories that have been lost to time, another neat item was the Holley "quarter mile dial" which was a conversion kit that came with a float bowl, metering block that goes into a typical 4160 holley and a controller that screws onto the dash and it would allow you to change the jet sizing +5or-5 jet sizes right from the driver's seat.
The most awesome device ever devised....!
Everything was made to last back then.
It is amazing the things you could get to install in your car back in the day and even some crazy factory options, you could do a hole series of videos on this stuff, Just go look at a old 1960s or 70s JC WHITNEY catalog or a Sears auto catalog,
Up until the late 80's.
I have a lighter in my 99 Dodge Ram, never used it cause I quit smoking in 98. Oh yeah, neat toy you found there.
Thanks for spiking the price of these on eBay with this video today!
Epic, I need one 🤣
Thats awesome! A friend of my Dad had a 50's Buick and he had something similar that mounted on the steering column. Just tap a bar and a lit cigarette would roll out of it.
The bomb 🔥💥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You should send that to COLD WAR MOTORS for their classic darts segments
Now you need a Car Bar so you can have a drink and a smoke----- My uncle Jim in Chicago used to sell and install them in the early 60s . I have been looking for one for years.
Great when going down the highway with all the windows down and manual windows
I would like to have it for my ride! 🔥
Nice
you find the most oddball stuff just think if you loaded a filtered cig backwards that smell would stay in the car for days lol
I imagine at least one of these got ruined because somebody's kids loaded it full of crayons
Uncle pickle approves 🧙♂️🥒
For the Gadget People.
It was the culture. Not a lot will understand it. It was cool.
I just remembered that in the early eighties in dirty magazines you could order an accessory called the auto suck. Use your imagination. Maybe you can find one and do a review on it. LOL😮!!!
I've got some old lighters that were my grandfather's and have never really been able to find any info on them, there are a couple Ronsons along with some other odd ball things. If you want em I could email some pics, I'd rather they be with someone that can appreciate them instead of a box in the closet.
It was meant to not distract you while driving and lighting up
Totally Bad Assed!
Are you taking offers? Looking for a second one for my hemi Dart.....
I collect stuff
Load it with oint jays
👍🏻🇦🇺
wAIT! arE U DEBUNKING THE MYTH sHERMANS WERE CALLED rONSINS, BUT rONSINS WERE NOT MADE UNTIL 1950?
tHE cHIEFTAIN WANTS TO TALK TO U.
1st post😁
that is one of the coolest things i have ever seen i want one but have no use for one unless I can retrofit it for weed!
Cansaa smansha lite em up..🧙♂️🫁💨🚬🚬🚬
hahaha My daily driver 1994 f150 has a cig lighter and the last car that i know of to have smoker windows! i don't smoke anymore though but i still like having them. i'm a weird guy and i collect pocket watches.
