It's refreshing to see someone actually review a lower trim on a new vehicle. Overall Chevy designed a very good looking SUV.
The new Chevy Traverse looks AWESOME, wow! Thanks for the review. Please keep up the great work on your channel Zack, and greetings from Germany!
I really like the way it looks I just don't think it's a good idea to put a small Engine in a big vehicle 😔
Chevy exists to do that. They’ll put a 999cc in a Suburban if they have to give it 5 turbos come ≈2030
@@hamburgerhamburgerv2 And due to the weight of the vehicle, it will get the same gas mileage as a V6.
Especially if it's gasoline
What does it matter what you think? Are you also a mechanical engineer? Do you know how this motor was built and what its durability will be? No.
The Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado, and Canyon have “small engines” and are designed to tow and haul thousands of pounds easily and daily. V6 engines are making power that V8s were making 10-15 years ago. Times have changed.
@@G-Rated turbo 4s under any kind of load beyond hauling people are going to get the same, or maybe worse, fuel economy as an NA V6 (eg: new Tacoma vs new Frontier). You don't have to be a mechanical engineer to understand why that is: turbo needs more fuel, engine runs hotter, efficiency drops. Trucks with turbo 4s are "lifestyle" trucks. If you have actual towing needs, buy an F150 with the 5.0L V8 and move on.
Nice review, and great K5 pictures!
Cool video bro I hope you have a good weekend take care this is from new Zealand 💯💯
I am amazed you are finally reviewing what is possibly the most overlooked family SUV of all time. Proud of you! Apparently all of the other car reviewers for the most part seem to totally forget that these, and the Acaida and Enclave ever exist at all.
The best looking Traverse to date. Furthermore, I'm impressed with Chevrolet's latest design language
I've always liked the way these look, & the interior looks pretty classy as well.
How is the ride comfort when comparing it with Tahoe air suspension? Air suspension is missing in this.
I want an RS in Stardust metallic
Great review. I hope a lot cheaper than competitors like GH and Pilot
2024 Traverse can tow 5000lbs when equipped. The 2.5T offers an increase in both HP (18) and TrQ (60) from it's predecessor V6. Its also very closely related to their new 2.7T used in Trucks just modified for trans-verse applications.
Thanks for the review . I have a 2020 Traverse . Recently teenagers crash into the back of it at a stop sign . I'm thinking on getting a new one, but I'm still skeptical about the 4 cylinder engine🤔
328HP and 326 pounds of torque
From a 2.5l? Dear god, they’re gonna throw a 999cc in a Suburban eventually!
From a little, highly-boosted, highly-stressed engine.
@@bwofficial1776 That's the correct figures
Engine will be lucky to make 100k.
@@bwofficial1776y’all know NOTHING about engines. 2.5L is not a small engine especially for a 4/cylinder engine. Just say you think it needs a V8 in order to last because you’re dumb.
Theres no button to lock the back Windows anymore? Hopefully its available on the touch screen as an option, and something thag should have neber been altered tbh
what a gm joke
It’s in the screen, of course you can bring that digital button to the dock where it will stay if that’s something you’ll find yourself using a lot.
I think the Z71 or RS trim looks better. But Chevy did a good job with the change in style of the New Traverse
is that the same 4 cylinder they are using in the colorado and other trucks?
I've heard that both engines are similar, but they're definitely not the same engine. The truck 4 cylinder engine has slightly bigger displacement (2.7) and is longitudinally mounted.
I’m thinking of ordering this trim but with supercruise, pano roof and the evotex seats. However that jacks the price up to 49k
The Traverse went from bland to weird to quite cool with these new lines during it's existence.. seems to makes duty well, carry people and stuff around with some comfort and safety without being too show-off
They did the 2.7t in the Silverado it will be fine
It's actually a variant of that 2.7.
Finally Traverse looks smashing. Btw what is the "L button" on the cruise controls??
Lowers the gear to low 1
Can you customize the LT models for Leather Seats instead?
I would like to do that. Who likes non-leather seat?
No leather but evotex, which is a synthetic leather
This IS A NICE NICE CHEVY SUVs 😮😮😮😮😮❤❤❤❤GOOD JOB GENERAL MOTORS 😮😮😮😮😮❤❤❤
The Traverse used to have really similar total interior space in cubic feet compared to the previous gen Tahoe because of the live rear axle. In fact the 3rd row had more leg room and depending on how you measured, more cargo space. FWD unibody versus RWD body on frame just offers better packaging. I dunno about this current gen, and quite frankly, if that matters (and towing doesn't) - a minivan is the way to go. Would I buy a Traverse? No, but when I go to rent, I'd take a Traverse over a Tahoe or Expedition most likely, unless it was snowing and one had 4WD and one didn't.
Almost every vehicle made after 2011 will be fine in most conditions with snow tires. From a Mercury Grand Marquis to a Toyota Corolla it’ll be fine.
I do understand some people have to deal with feet and feet of snow, which justifies Subarus and trucks. Buy what you need.
Traverse will be the better *buy* this time around, especially for the money. I do not see the value in the Toyota GH at this price point.
Would you pick this over cx90?
No. I would pick the CX-90. But I have owned 5 Mazdas, and Mazda is my favorite brand. The CX-90 feels nicer and I trust the engine more.
Don't get me wrong, I really like how it looks and this will manage to work for anybody interested in buying it and maybe be more reliable than the awful 3.6 V6 every GM vehicle had...not saying I'd like it to equal the Tahoe but it's just that I will always be against the idea of somewhat large, front wheel drive SUVs with very small engines.
Got my wife the CX90 and only reason I’m considering this in the RS is because of comfort. Engine wise the cX90 is a joy 🤩 but the interior is a little rough. Depending on how the family fits if not I will be getting the new Tahoe instead. That said it’s a nice ride. Motor wise of course ford kicks it in the nuts but honestly for a city car and everyday not too bad.
God loves us all so much that he gave his perfect son to die for our sins and raised him from the grave to defeat death. Through faith in JESUS we can be saved and reconciled to GOD. please give your life to him, he loves you, is coming back soon, and really wants to take us all with him🙏♥️
To summarize:
- Wife has CX-90
- CX-90 interior is rough
- Considering a Traverse RS, may prefer Tahoe; depends on space in Traverse
- Ford's faster than Traverse
Right? 🤔
Holy hell how big is your family
Did the traverse have a moon roof?
Please lmk cause I just saw one with it and I’m wondering if I shud buy or jot
Overall styling is good. Why did GM move the headlights @ wiper functions & move them to the stupid info screen?? 2 very important items & you have to search for these items all while your trying to drive this $40 ,000 + vehicle 😮😮😮😮
You’re a boomer aren’t you? You can tell you haven’t been inside the new Chevys to test out their latest infotainment system because you don’t have to “search” for anything. The display is reconfigurable and you can put any apps/buttons on the dock to always stay there.

Is this going to be one of those vehicles to go 200,000 + trouble free miles?
Honestly any direct injected turbo that’s not a given, GM I worry they don’t build this motor to the same quality standards as the 2.7T in the trucks, get a pilot or something and disable the VCM or get a pathfinder 2022+ if you want 200k miles. Even the turbo 4 in the Highlander might not be as good as the V6 they just dropped
Absolutely not. Only way a traverse is going to make it 200k is by staying on the highway 🤣
@@alonzopatrick752 towed behind a rv .
Doubt it.
i judge cars by what's under the hood. and i would feel much at ease with a N/A engine than an unproven turbo concept beta-test.
i hope it is better than the 3.6 timing chain eating failure. but i won't hold my breath
but why compare truck to a car? it's no way a tahoe its a crossover competitor
this engine is MUCH PROVEN already. Its the same as the 2.7L turbo in their trucks. should go 500k miles ez
Can't wait to rent this one
No fog lights on all models.
Acadia/Pilot/Pathfinder still have them
5:16
they look flat and plain
Hey, it's a chebby!
It's not a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder. engine. It needs a turbo to have the power it has. You are not really raising any Hell with the powertrain. To save yourself $10 stacks. LT would be better than the RS especially for daily driver. GM probably is going to change some of the stuff for the 2025 traverse. Imma wait and see.
For a SUV designed for 6-7 people plus cargo, it needs a bigger engine.
السيارة الامريكيه أصبحت احسن من اليابانيه أخيرا ؟
First!
I’m convinced the only reason gm is still making these turds is for rental car companies and leases.
GM : Make everything look like a Camaro. It has a good look to it. Also GM : Cancel the Camaro. If you haven't driven a 6G Camaro, do yourself a favor and try one. Excellent driving & looking car.
Not a fan of all the blacked out trim and wheels
So since the 2.7L is a joke now the 2.5L will follow! GM all vehicles look alike now great job
I think is lame how weak all the unibody suv engines from gm are. I really liked the traverse for its V6, such a shame they got rid of it.
💯
That V6 engine was crap 💩
Yea when Toyota goes to a 4 banger it's fine, but when GM does it it's crap.
U think is lame
Complain about the displacement if you want, but this 2.5 I4 is more powerful than the 3.6 V6. 18 more horsepower and 60 more lb-ft. of torque
I still can't forgive GM for 2008, they hold out one hand, grasping for a bailout from the public cause they're "Too big to fail". And the other hand is behind their back actively covering up an ignition failure that is killing their custormers. ....
There doing just fine without your business
Yea, you should get a life. *gm* paid that money back and paid it back EARLY. They employ over 165,000 Americans and continue to lead the pack in EV and ICE American made automobiles. Now that it’s hard to find a fault within their latest portfolio of products you resort to what happened under a different management back in 2008. 🙄
@@G-RatedGm vehicles are trash nowadays their cars have more Chinese parts in them then any other American car company the only reason Buick is alive is because of Chinese consumers and their stocks are all in Chinese companies. You might wanna learn the facts Gm fell off of quality cars a long time ago
If you gave me one I would drive it to the nearest Toyota dealership and trade it.
Chevy lol
Overpriced!
The SUV one sholudn't buy at all according to Car Wizard.
God loves us all so much that he gave his perfect son to die for our sins and raised him from the grave to defeat death. Through faith in JESUS we can be saved and reconciled to GOD. please give your life to him, he loves you, is coming back soon, and really wants to take us all with him🙏♥️
Part of that was based on the "high feature" GM 3.6 V6, which many believe to be time bombs, though. On the other hand - I don't know about this engine, either.
@@blautensthe 2.5 is based on the 2.7 which had been very reliable
@@jacobyo99 reeeeallly??
i hear that but some of his statements are questionable,
5.2 dodge magnum is one of the best v8s and he says they crack heads, my hads got one wont die with 350k !
also says dont buy ford taurus because the heater cores plug up??? that's it ? of all problems..??
3.6 engine is a leaky one, buddy that works at gm is always replacing valve cover, timing chain cover and head gaskets on any 3.6 suv, gm is dead
200,000 mile car not very good
gm is for poor people
You're gay as aids?
Planned obsolescence. Wont last 100000 miles
If it’s got the 3.6 it’s still trash. Even then I still wouldn’t buy it
It looks good. I'd rather go Japanese or Korean though. I'd take a Grand Highlander Hybrid any day over this.
If a dude buys one of these over a Tahoe by law they are required to get the vanity plate “low T” or “mpb life”. Mpb = male pattern baldness.
Overpriced disposable trash
