Reminds me of 5 Alive juice from the 80’s was so good. Sad when it left the market. I remember it was lemon, tangerine, orange, lime and grapefruit I think.
If you're ever back in the LA area, just ask. Most people are very happy to share their citrus. The joke is that if you see someone buying citrus in the grocery store there, it's because they don't have any friends.😂
In Phoenix too. We had some engineers visiting from Japan, where grapefruit are sold singly for high prices and they freaked out at the stack of boxes of grapefruit in the lobby with "FREE, PLEASE TAKE SOME" signs. Then I took them to some neighborhoods where citrus grow in the front yards. They were snapping pictures like crazy. The arranged to ship a lot of grapefruit back with them.
There is nothing wrong with plastic as a material. It can be very sturdy and long lasting. The issue is the cheap plastic things that are made in certain countries
I love the gadget year videos. I put cut fruit and all other small items in a small glass storage container. Costco sells a set that includes smaller sizes. The best juicer is the old fashioned bowl style with the raised centre. It's the only way to get ALL the juice out. No edges with juicy pulp left.
I bought a Gratemate in Gloucester last year. Bought them for friends and family, too. They're a little ceramic plate for grating ginger, garlic and chocolate. They look adorable. Kind of rustic. Remind me of holidays in Greece. I do use it, but the two main issues I find is that 1) it's really easy to grate your fingers when you're working with something small, like a clove of garlic, and 2) if you drop it, that's it. But it comes with a little silicone tube for rolling garlic. The BEST garlic peeler I've ever used. Would buy it just for that. 🧄
When I have leftover stuffs that are on the smaller side I put them in a regular old soup bowl and put a dessert plate over it. You can actually stack things that way too. I absolutely hate plastic wrap and it’s banned from my house 😹. I also only use glass of ceramic bowls and dishes. No plastic it’s been like that in my house for decades
I don’t know why it makes me so happy, it I just love it when Emmy’s straight on camera catches her looking at her side camera and she says “come on guys. Look at this!” And then it cuts to the side camera. It’s just so…sweet? Like a friend saying “get in here! This is awesome! Look!” And then holding whatever up for you to see it.
i just use zip lock baggies and rewash them if they are the strong quality kind. Easy to disinfect with baking soda and water or water and distilled vinegar after you scrub the inside out with warm soapy water with a good rinse. then after you soak it again in the vinegar and water mix either or baking soda mix, you can dry those on a rack and safe to reuse for fruit and whatever food you have. I just do not reuse if any food content rotted in it , or when in doubt toss it out. I buy a pack of zip lock and plastic wrap stash like once a year some times longer. So the same time it takes to wash that one piece, the same for zip lock baggies. So i guess it just is a matter of what you want to use.
I would love for you to try out a variety of garlic presses! I bought one that you rock over the garlic and comes with a silicone tube to take all the shell off of the garlic. I have not naster this. I thought at one point maybe my garlic was too ripe, but I don’t know. Lol
That is really neat. The fluicier would have come in handy... i juiced so many satsumas from our tree i ended up with 13 gallons of juice... ate having given away so many to my kids school and friends.
I have a glassware citrus juicer and it has suited me just fine all these years. It's an heirloom and I've never seen anything better. So I'll be sticking to that, until the day I die.
😂 This is overkill. Just stick to the original Mexican design which has not only stood the test of well over a hundred years, but is not made of crappy plastic…
Charming video, indeed. I'm not thinking of any gadgets right now, except a one handed squeezer that I can't quite remember, with a flat part, I think. It's an antique thing. If I remember, I will @ you
I would have watched the how-to video first since I can be one of those who does it my way and then breaks the gadget at second try. Glad you mentioned adding seltzer water to the juice because I make my own with filtered tap water in a canister that uses pressurized cartridges and container is stored in the fridge. (ISI carbonated system) but buying seltzer works too. It is extremely expensive in my remote location to buy sodas. I'd wash the fruit well and dry before juicing and then run a rasp/grater/zester on the fruit to get some yummy zesty flavoring for other things like pound cake. The other Savel thing seems useless to me. I just put my extras in a glass bowl that I have assorted sizes and lids if wanted. Wonder if it might drip juices in the fridge? Often my extras are something like half an onion so it might leave that taste on the plastic. It was a fun demo to watch though. Edit: your i skipped to the wrong spot on your title. Fluicer
I love grapefruit but I can't eat it right now. I am on a medication that says to not have grapefruit while taking it. I need to be on this medication for 5 years and it's only been just over 2 years now. It's a post breast cancer medication.
10 years ago, I got food poisoning from bad onions. It was the worst 9 days of my life. I lost 40 pounds, and it was a solid two months before my voice returned. Be careful with your onions. They should be stored in an air-tight container and tossed after a couple of days. Or frozen. They lose appeal for fresh eating, but frozen onions are great if you're cooking with them. 😊
Thanks for doing these. You missed a blood orange! 😊 This looks a lot easier for an older person with arthritic hands than either of the other 2 typical ones used. I ordered one...I'll let you know! Btw: I did order this brand because it was bigger than the others listed. It also looks sturdier. Also, from what I can tell, it would do blueberries, strawberries, pomegranate, etc, too. I saw one that had an apple but I'm doubting that one. Maybe a softer pear?!
Ah man, I really want some juice now but I only have a tangerine at home and I’ve saved it for my pet rats. Okay the grocery store opens in 2 hours and then I’ll go shop citrus fruit! I have an electric juicer where you can juice everything you want, even hard stuff like carrots.
Can you please link to the knife you are cutting the citrus with? I checked your list on Amazon and it's not there. Thank you for testing these items . The juicer I might purchase but definitely not the storage thing.
I would just half-moon cut the grapefruit and do it as four pieces. Two cuts instead of one, for the amount of ease. My hands cannot use those metal juices. But being able to use my arm strength might help a lot.
Yes ur hair really makes u look very pretty, classic and just all around cuttie patuttie. I love ur u tubes u do so well ur smart and a cuttie and u speak well I love grapefruit, my most favorite. God bless u girl.😮
Never do grapefruit only oranges and limes.. the juicer I have will do both and is solid metal. I have a couple lime trees and my neighbor has lemon. They were loaded this year.
Everybody's new squeezer 😅 Now they gonna be mad cause they can't keep up with the buyers demands. Sorry, out of stock.😂 Emmy sent it viral now we gotta hire 100 new mold injection workers. 😅
Possibly cutting the grapefruit in quarters would work? I think I’m gonna pick one of these up, bcuz of my RA my hand strength is not what it used to be and I think this would work better for me
I don't see how it'd be hard to make that juicer out of metal, they reason they don't is longevity, build something that lasts, you get one sale, build something that breaks, you get repeated sales, that's the sad state of affairs we live in today... :\
The world just weighs so heavily on me right now. I so appreciate the quiet compassion and joy you radiate here on your channel. Thank you ❤
I was feeling the same. (((💗)))
I love my fluicer , use it mostly for lemons and limes but do cut it down for larger fruits. Easy to clean, and stores flat.
I resisted buying a citrus juicer for the longest time, but finally got one as a gift and now I use it every time, lol
A juicer that wont attract Anoia, Goddes of things that get stuck in drawers? Praise Anoia!! May she ever rattle your drawers! 😎
@@LDuncanKelly 😂😂.
....Whi- Which ones.....????
*Nervous shake in voice*
I think if you quartered the grapefruit it would have worked better.
My exact thoughts
I came here to write this
I was thinking that as well.
I thought this too.
Yep. Cut the halves in half and they'll fit, and not cause the resistance that the half sticking out does.
I have the 1940's Wear-Ever aqueezer which was given to my parents when they married. IT WILL OUTLAST US ALL!!!!
Reminds me of 5 Alive juice from the 80’s was so good. Sad when it left the market. I remember it was lemon, tangerine, orange, lime and grapefruit I think.
Yes, I liked that as a kid and thought it was too bad when it went away.
We still have Five Alive in Canada!
I love the slew of new content, Emmy! All so original and what I love about your channel.
I use a potato ricer to squeeze lemons and oranges
That's a great idea!
What a great idea! I use my ricer to drain canned tuna.
Her squeal at the end!! 😂😂😂
Emmy I have been watching your videos for a long time I love your videos and how kind and thoughtful you seem to be.

The arranged to ship a lot of grapefruit back with them.
That is the sharpest knife I've ever seen in my life! Did you guys see how she sliced those fruits with such ease??? OMG
I thought this too!
RIGHT!! It was giving fruit ninja lmao, we love a sharp, well-kept kitchen
So satisfying to watch the effortless cuts. 😂
There is nothing wrong with plastic as a material. It can be very sturdy and long lasting. The issue is the cheap plastic things that are made in certain countries
We watch in anticipation...
Whenever Emmy squeezes food. 😅

Hello Emmy, you can also use beeswax wrap to cover them.
They’re also reusable as well!
Oh yum! I was wondering what you’d use all that juice for - spritzers sound delish!
First gadget - maybe. Second gadget - WTFruit?! No way do I need that one.
It looks like a taco. 😂
@SunnyIlha True. Or, to serve a taco to a guest🤔🤷🌮

Fluicer is such a weird name. I guess it's a flat juicer?
Been watching your hairstyles for years and can honestly say that the long look is really pretty.😀
I remember when Emmy cut her own hair in one video. 🫣🤭
What a creepy thing to comment on a food video
I would try mixing the juice with Martinellis sparkling apple.
Me too lol I use a ton of small ceramic bowls I’ve Been trying to reduce plastic use at home
Emmy Gadget video days are my favorite days 🥰

Juicer, yes. For flat cut fruit halves I use any assorted lids that always have a rim that prevents juice drip escape.
oh i thought you weren't gonna try the juice!!!! thank you for never disappointing

Not a fan of plastic touching acidic things
I have a glassware citrus juicer and it has suited me just fine all these years. It's an heirloom and I've never seen anything better. So I'll be sticking to that, until the day I die.
Love the vintage jacket ❤
"I have not watched the UA-cam video, because ..... I did not... so 🤷🏿♀️" 😂😂
“Where's my icy glass of milk?" :P
I love the flucier...8$ at Ross!
All the fruit juice reminded me of the frozen concentrate drink they used to sell - "5 Alive". It was five different citrus juices.
😂 This is overkill.
Just stick to the original Mexican design which has not only stood the test of well over a hundred years, but is not made of crappy plastic…
Charming video, indeed.

Emmy must have crates full of weird gadgets laying around at home by this time. :)
Could you quarter the grapefruit instead of halving it?
That squeak is setting my teeth on edge. That's enough of a dealbreaker for me but the lack of a strainer also is a big minus.
I would have watched the how-to video first since I can be one of those who does it my way and then breaks the gadget at second try. Hope you’re doing well! Love your videos Emmy! 💙
IKEA has great little reusable silicon... flower top thingies... that are perfect for fruit & veg ends, as well as small bowls & glasses
Emmy! Love your fun videos! Keep it up
The second one they should market as only for grapefruits. A lot of people eat a half a grapefruit in the morning.
Every time I should read “fluicer” my mind substitutes “Lucifer”. I think I watched too much Cinderella growing up.
Oh that Fluicer is in PAIN
Ah man, I really want some juice now but I only have a tangerine at home and I’ve saved it for my pet rats. Okay the grocery store opens in 2 hours and then I’ll go shop citrus fruit! I have an electric juicer where you can juice everything you want, even hard stuff like carrots.
Thanks Emmy 🤓🌷
I think I like the ikea silicone fruit storage one better.
Can you please link to the knife you are cutting the citrus with? I checked your list on Amazon and it's not there. Thank you for testing these items . The juicer I might purchase but definitely not the storage thing.

Most type of juicers only work for citrus only.
You need a a raw fruite cetrifug for the rest of fruit and veggies becouse of how hard they are
The second gadget would be great for avocados❤
My local Albertsons gives me digital coupons for Dreamfarm products, but they don't actually carry them. 😅
The dreamfarm company is a couple of suburbs from my house in Brisbane . Did they change the spelling i wonder for the US?
This video was making me salivate.
All you have to do is cut the grapefruit or large orange in quarters. Taadaah!! It fits.
Yes ur hair really makes u look very pretty, classic and just all around cuttie patuttie. I love ur u tubes u do so well ur smart and a cuttie and u speak well
I love grapefruit, my most favorite. God bless u girl.😮
I liked the citrus juicer, not so much the keeper.😅
Never do grapefruit only oranges and limes.. the juicer I have will do both and is solid metal. I have a couple lime trees and my neighbor has lemon. They were loaded this year.
It works great
I think you totally could make your own tomato juice probably quite easily.
fluicer yes....the other saver gadget no. i just use a little flat plate...place the lemon face down, etc.
II love how Flucier is an anagram for Lucifer
Thank you for saying on video that you wash the item before first use. Many videos omit this.
How can no one mention the noise it makes?! My dog is freaking out! 😂
Im trying to get away from plastic and less stuff .. getting rid of gadgets. 🥴
That bowl of fruit would cost me about $30 right now in my neighborhood!!
The Savel. So basically, a plastic coffee lid
They should make the juicer out of silicone.
Do you think the fluicer would be good for people with limited dexterity/strength? My grandmother cannot use a regular juicer.
Yum! With fizzy water, sounds good.
Mixed with iced tea wood be amazing
Personally I think Rum and a splash of Seltzer or Club Soda sounds pretty good to me
If you cut the grapefruit into quarters it'd probably still work fine
The fluicer seemed to work well, but why does the citrus have to scream though??
I find using a plastic product to save from using plastic is counterintuitive. Maybe use wax paper instead
Could the Flucier be used on grapes or maybe pitted cherries?
Everybody's new squeezer 😅
Now they gonna be mad cause they can't keep up with the buyers demands.
Sorry, out of stock.😂
Emmy sent it viral now we gotta hire 100 new mold injection workers. 😅
I'd try a avocado on the savel. See if it turns.
Haha the savel is dumb. 😅 the fruit would dehydrate in the fridge anyways, it has a slit right down the middle. Clunky.
Read this as 👹'flucifer'👹 multiple times. Any other dyslexics here?
Miss Emmy
I'm not sure if
I feel comfy with this
Episode
Maybe quarter the grapefruit might work?
Great arm workout!
Where's my icy glass of milk? ❤
maybe quarter the grapefruit instead of needing to flip it around
Possibly cutting the grapefruit in quarters would work? I think I’m gonna pick one of these up, bcuz of my RA my hand strength is not what it used to be and I think this would work better for me
Maybe it would juice a handful of grapes?
I don't see how it'd be hard to make that juicer out of metal, they reason they don't is longevity, build something that lasts, you get one sale, build something that breaks, you get repeated sales, that's the sad state of affairs we live in today... :\
The title being misspelled is really making me tweak :-(
The 2nd gadget is no different to just putting a piece of citrus fruit face down on a small plate
LOL, what DOESN'T make Emmy happy?
(EDIT: Apparently the Savel)
How about gadgets from a Japanese Dollar Store with gadgets from Japan that the Japanese would use that maybe we wouldn't use here as much?
Cut the grapefruit into quarters
