Frank Gambale still have been FABULOUS guitar player...but how many hours months years of work to get this result... He really should be knew so much more by more and more people !!!! I've still been a fan and time passing by and he's better and much better...again and again. It's really impressive to work so hard since long time...but tte result is amazing...Bravo Frank ! Keep going and take care. 🤩👍
+Luigi Sari I think they are on par with one another in terms of quantifiable technique. look up the album truth in shredding, it has Gambale and Holdsworth playing together, it is incredible and you will know what I mean afterwards.
+Calymos :) I know pretty well that album, I guess that you're talking about the notes-continuity sound generated by Allan's legato technic, I'm right ? I think it's the main difference between Allan and Frank which is a perfect pick player : as a guitar player I prefer much more Frank due to his funky-chop style, it's only a matter of taste. Btw I like also Holdsworth, both are great !
+Calymos ...I don't consider AH a fusion player. He is beyond fusion. He basically created his own tonal universe. He is an innovator. Allan Holdsworth is on another level altogether from this. So, essentially I disagree with you. They are on different planets.
@@wadesharp11 To be fair, thinking about it kinda makes me want to go skiing in a multi-neoncoloured fullbody ski suit with complimentary mirror sunglasses, pink earmuffs and a lip balm that’s just ever so slightly too loud for comfort … 😁
Notice the way he's almost voicing or singing the notes at the same time he picks. This is a great exercise and technique for developing a real connection to the keyboard and knowing your intervals.. Imagine developing riffs as easy as whistling or scatting. Franktastic !
Various Things He means that Gambale is probably singing the notes in his head at the same time he's playing them. Basically he plays the notes he hears in his head, which is key to improvisation, rather than just playing memorized licks over a chord progression.
+Gary Phillips great observation! i started doing that because i loved George Benson's sound and yeah like you say it really starts developing your oneness with the instrument so it becomes more an extension of your body than an inanimate object.
Yeah right on! I remember doing this with my favourite high school bands like whenever id listen to Devin Townsend or Shpongle I'd voice the note but like allot of the time without making a sound, I'm gonna refocus on it because I think that helped a lot with imagining a note and nailing it first finger now that I think of it I think. The brain is so fascinating :]
@@ronaldwilliams6431 Yea but Guthrie has nothing but respect for frank, Frank is the original BADASS! If it wasn't for guys like FG there wouldn't be a Guthrie.
yep, gambale could learn slash riffs, or more precisely, hear them, get a les paul and a marshal stack and wail in that style. Slash couldn't do what gambale does. Both are great guitarists at what they like to do, but one is more studious and omnivoric.
I don't think Slash can be summed up as "that's all". There'll always be someone who knows more, and even at Frank's level there are/were superior players.
If I ever could ask Frank a question it would be, "what is it you say to yourself when your lips are moving?" It's a thing I've seen him do from his earliest videos to his latest. Whatever it is, I WANNA KNOW THE SECRET
I confirm HE IS Damien Schmitt. I met them just before that concert (and my video), while Frank Gambale and Dominique DiPiazza were having a coffee. Not only great musicians but also nice persons.
Love Frank - skill set off the scale but don't know why I'm not crazy about his tone.. Would love to hear a warmer slightly compressed tone with a little bloom on the notes...
His playing is so good it bends space and time!
+uboligu1 hahaha yeah.., physicists have to create a new mathematics for it
after 3.00 I was just mindgazm, its so frikin tasty like gosh!
franks licks are the only things that can escape a black hole
25 years after chick corea electric band he 's still an incredible guitarist !
He's having loads of fun, guy is a phenomenal musician.
I just discovered Frank thanks to Rick Beato. WTF have I be missing, this guy is flippin amazing.

greatest fusion guitar player of my generation. FG is untouchable....period.

allan holdsworth is pretty much tied, man
+Calymos what you mean exactly with "tied" ?

He looks way cooler than he did back in day.
True.
Nah. He’s still and always had the same cool spirit. Maybe you’re correct on the attire but who cares
Doesn’t take a lot to look cooler than back in the day

2:12 particularly awesome :)
dear god the drummer fucking DESTROYED!
I think the drummer is Damien Schmitt, look up his other work with Impact Fuze playing with guitar Feodor Dosumov.
Damn Frank!!! i'm supposed to be working...
Savory Goat,Frank's more than OK!! he can play any style of music,Slash can't!! Gambale is a genious,Slash is a good rock guitarist and that's all

Who the heck is that drummer? He's incredibly great too!
The drummer is Damien Schmitt and the bass player is Dominique Di Piazza. Enjoy !

Cool man! Those guys are phenomenal too!
Anyone confirm whether the drummer is Damien Schmitt, who has played in Impact Fuze with guitarist Feodor Dosumov?
I confirm HE IS Damien Schmitt. I met them just before that concert (and my video), while Frank Gambale and Dominique DiPiazza were having a coffee. Not only great musicians but also nice persons.
Riccardo, thanks for the confirmation, I'm envious you met these cool cats in person.
Thanks for your attention, Daniel.
Dominique Di Piazza à la basse, un vieux de la vieille 😉
Amazing Guitar player Frank Gambale, but the drumer is very good to ! Wath is your name drumer ?
Who is the drummer?
What's the time signature? 2/64?
Looks at guitar like a piece of alien technology.

Throws guitar out window.
Anyone know this song?
SEBANO1974 It's "Smug" from Raison D'Etre album !
No one recognized him
because he's french and very discreet, but it's the great Dominique Di piazza on bass.
A true bass legend 👌
Dideladowdi. Dududada deedeliwadilali. etc. But cool, his skills.
