*Double Pigeon pose explained* Yoga pose for flexible legs and open the hips. Listen carefully to Marlene's instructions. If it hurt your knees, take a step back and sit cross legged. #yoga
Thank you for this video. I have lost a lot of flexibility in the last few years and double pigeon is very uncomfortable, my knee is still very high, and until this video I was not able to find another stretch similar or a way to ease into it, but the pose with lying on the floor on the back is exactly what I needed! Thanks so much!
Excellent teaching, Marlene, as always. I appreciate your instructions as they apply to me, but also as the variations as they might apply to my students: your suggestions for the supine version of this (which remind me of 'threading the needle') are timely and useful. I like your classes v much and use them a lot. Many thanks. Stephanie,London
+Barbara H hi barbara, great you found out so now you know that vinyasa krama means a step by step progression towards a goal or destination, or even towards a peak pose. I apply vinyasa krama in my vinyasa flow sequences a lot. Hope you enjoy:-)
I've sat like this for as long as I can remember since I was a kid. I don't even feel a stretch when I get into this pose or when I lean forward. I wonder if that means the ligaments in my knees and hips are just naturally loose?
It looks very easy when you explain it but I can't lower my knee without pain (altough I have been practicing yoga daily for many years now)... Do you have any tips? Or might it be anatomy that simply prevents me from doing this pose?? Thank you!
Another great video, Marlene. I have noticed in a couple of your videos you say " maybe you are familiar with my (finasakrama?))) "of whatever the pose is. I have been unable to find what that means. It would be great if you gave one of your wonderful explanations. Sorry I am not experienced enough to know.

I'm still searching looking for the 5.6 earthquake
So do the two thighs and the shins form a triangle?
Do you swap the leg positions and then repeat?
Of course, for balanced stretching on both sides.
Is it weird that I sit like this every single day and it doesn’t hurt at all lol... I never knew this was an actual pose to open up the hips
I hope you can resist that nasty habit of saying laying when it should be lying.
Julian Clegg ,,,, is it that important, laying or lying,,, The teaching yoga pose is what matter ,,,
