I think the bosses are harder in this one because their health is set way higher than usual to account for four Kirbies attacking at once. The game assumes you have a team of four, since you can always call your teammates to help you in a moment’s notice. This makes all of the bosses significantly harder if you’re fighting them one on one
@@genemelendez8157 I feel its more that the copy abilities damage is kinda scuffed. Only certain ones will deal a lot of damage, namely hammer as usual, and stone. Coincidentally, the Smash ability has both of those.

Just a tip, as someone who has been playing Amazing Mirror for an unveliebably long time, there's this technique I like to call "Float Cancelling". It consist of pressing A (or in a case of no-Jump challenges, up on the D-Pad) to let Kirby inhale a little bit of air to puff up. However, before he actually puffs up and starts hovering, quickly press B to cancel the float into your standard "B attack". You gain a little bit of altitude without the need of hovering/jumping, and you could go up some ledges if you're good ennough at it, or even gain infinite altitude if your timing is extremely good. It's way better and easier to do in Squeak Squad and you could gain a lot of height if you use it multiple times with Hammer. This technique is only available in these 2 games.
If he does do it I just hope He would do a bonus challenge to collect as many treasure chests as possible and I also hope he would see wheel is not useless in that game
only the first level needs any jumps iirc and all but one treasure can be gotten without any additional jumps if youre smart fighter is broken even more than usual burning/fire is the early game king again
I think Squeak squad would be fun, being able to hold different copy abilities at the same time would mitigate the problem of "I need this ability but it's only in level X" and the main gameplay shouldn't be TOO bad without being able to jump.
You definitely can’t beat squeak squad without jumping but ability mixes save the game. I started to try without jumping and worlds 2 and 3 are about strategizing what ability’s you will bring to the level and using what the level provides as well.
Imagine how much easier the challenge would have been had you mixed the first two enemies in the tutorial area and got UFO ability... not to mention all other areas in which this could be done.
Come on, CMee, don't be so hard on yourself. You don't have to say "no, it's not possible", not after you worked so hard and achieved so much. Give yourself a "yes, except for the tutorial". Think of it like that one star bit crystal from Super Mario Galaxy 2.

I’m gonna say right now, with the idea of multiplayer possible, as an idea, I know it wasn’t for you, but at the beginning, you could’ve had a teammate grab cupid, you call them back to you, and then they give you their ability, but then it’d still technically be the same amount of jumps because of the other player being controlled by a human, not a bot, just a thought though
Recently got this game for my DS, and this is by far the hardest Kirby game I’ve ever played. The level of detail and dungeon crawling makes finding all the treasure chests extremely difficult. Oh, and don’t forget the annoying boss battles (Mega Titan being the most frustrating). Still probably one of the best Kirby experiences though, and love the recognition this gem is getting!
Another tip: Your cpu companions gain abilities at random, and trying to sabotage them into dropping their ability is actually pretty easy. Just avoid doing it near hazards, and try and stick to common enemies.
Sword was your bread and butter for these challenges, so doing one without it was pretty tough from the get-go. Great work. I don't recommend doing the other old games without Sword's Upward Slash either, though.
I've also been intrigued by "can you beat X without" videos (but I don't record them myself) and this is my favorite game. So I also tried "without left" (Tornado ability to bounce off walls) "without jumping", "without floating" etc. challenges. This game's a big metroidvania though. Thanks for making this video, a great watch!
I managed to figure out how to shave off one jump, the first one actually. If you run up to the ledge and crouch next to it (I'm not sure if crouching matters), the waddle dee will walk off the ledge, hit you, and then bounce to the left. You can then slide kick the waddle dee to get just enough height and distance to get on the ledge. I also saw someone else mention mixing the sword and cupid to potentially get burning early, which would shave off another jump, making the total 10.
I dont remember if ufo has any particular hangups beyond dropping through platforms but if not would it have helped at all? I consider it different than cupid as it floating by default. I dont think theres any easy way to get it, but i noticed green kirby ha Ufo a few times. If by luck you could snag it from them certain level traversal would have been easier, right? The random nature might have made it more trouble than its worth though
This video is pretty good except for missing one CRUCIAL... POSSIBLY... Gameplay detail. You'll notice at 2:43 on the top left of the screen that the green Kirby gets a beam power up, and you can't get those until later on in the grass area. What does this mean? Well what if, you could get one of the kirbys to get a power like tornado from one screen randomly to use to skip some of those pesky jumps in the tutorial room. I can't test it right now to make sure you can do it on the room, but it's just a possibility.
For the succ block. You could've also just given Kirby an aneurysm by burning your face into it repeatedly. For the screen shake causes the block to move a bit.
Super Star and Squeak Squad would be very fun challenges, I believe. Great video! I consider it a YES, IT CAN, because that was just a tutorial, it could've pretty well forced you to press the A button as many tutorials do.
There are 3 jumps that can be skipped during the tutorial section, bringing the total number of jumps in the tutorial to 9: 2:20 The 1st jump can be removed by running up to the wall and allowing the Waddle Dee to fall down on you, then performing a slide-kick, using the knockback to make it on top of the ledge. (note: this must be done from a new save file, otherwise the other Kirby's will inhale the Waddle Dee before you can slide in to it) 2:41 The 9th jump can be skipped using the 8th jump. Wait at the button for the other Kirby's to arrive, then slide dash at them and hold right to stand on top of them (the switch they are standing on causes you to receive knockback after sliding into it). Jumping while standing on another Kirby will cause you to super-jump, gaining extra height, letting you cross the gap. 4:18 The 12th jump can be avoided using 'mix', by inhaling the first 'cupid' and 'sword' enemies simultaneously, as speculated by other commentators. The enemies are not close enough together to allow you to get both at the same time, but this can be fixed by moving one of the enemies, going back through the door to reset their health, and re-entering. You might be able to have another kirby get the cupid ability, while you get sword, them force it to take damage, discard carding your own ability so you can inhail them both together, but I haven't tested this method. Edit: There is another way that might be easier. When the AI teammates are in a different room than you are they sometimes get random power ups (seen at 2:46 when Green Kirby gets a beam copy ability, despite there being no enemies in the prior room). By going back and forth between the two rooms you can make it so the Kirby can get a movement ability (I got one with tornado) which you can take after they get hit. Congratulations on completing the rest of the game jumpless!
I came up with yet another way of skipping the 12th jump. It's a lot more difficult to pull off, but the upside is that my method doesn't rely on any random luck whatsoever, and I was eventually able to do it reliably once I figured out the tech. Start by obtaining Sword and go the end of the screen, thus stranding your allies there. Then go back and stand near the right edge of the cloud box containing the Flamer enemy, while facing right. Finding the exact right spot is tough but the sweet spot for me is where approximately half of Kirby's body is to the right of the cloud box. Once you're in the right position you have to time it so Flamer's in the right position too. You need to use the Up+B move just as Flamer starts to round the bottom right corner. Too early and you'll miss completely (which is actually okay because you're still in the perfect position and can just try again); too late and Flamer will either die or else end up orbiting the outside of the cloud box, *just* outside of inhaling reach. If you got the position and timing correct, Flamer will fly upwards a slight bit then descend, ultimately dropping to the ground, where you can safely inhale it without ever needing to jump or hover.
@@majora4 Your method is EASILY the best. It non-random and easier to pull off than mix ( which was a pain to get, on top of the chace of failure ). It is pretty incredible that you found it.
Do Kirby Super Star Ultra! It has similar movesets to amazing mirror, but the separation of the game into sections would be great to see on this channel.
You could try Breath of the Wild without pressing the b button. I haven't thought this through, but I thought it would be a nice sequel to the no jumping challenge. Great vid btw
No it wouldnt, as you cant inhale other kirbies like you could in Return to Dreamland. Thats the only way i could see getting through this area with no copy abilities
im almost sure if you sucked the sword guy and the cupid guy at the same time you could get a wheel of random powers that picks something for you, so you could get burning before if you got lucky or good enough at reacting
I love all of your intros to the challenge! (I usually figure out the bgm on accident but I genuinely don't know what it is so if anyone who's smarter could tell me that would be nice)
If I recall correctly, Sword's Final Cutter in this game does not even technically gain height. It can't land on drop-through platforms and may even pass through solid ceilings.
So got to candy constelation and noticed something, while it is very rng dependent Green was holding ufo, you could have called the boys, let green get hit and take ufo for yourself, which would make most things trivial, you could have also grabbed it on the way to the hands and make at least the rest of the path easy
This video’s relatively old at this point, but if you happen to see this and are still open to doing Kirby No Jump Challenges, I would love to see you attempt Super Star/Super Star Ultra. I haven’t played many Kirby games, but that one, specifically Ultra, is one of my favorite games of all time.
As a note, you didn't have to fight bombar just to get the missile power. It can also be found from some smaller enemies called bang-bangs, which appear fairly uncommonly, but they're much easier to locate than a Bombar midboss.
Depends what you mean. If you mean, using the same Mii for every character, absolutely. It makes certain quiz challenges impossible, but those let you progress whether you succeed or not, and the same Mii will always like and dislike the same food, which can be problematic I'm guessing though, you mean completing the game only using your starting character in which case, unfortunately not. There are several points in the game that force you to use other party members, including the final boss, and even some stages where your main character is not available.
it always feels like im the only person who remembers back when you had one hit before your copy ability goes instead of being able to die from beyond full health without it ever dropping
Cupid should just count as one, as while it is activated by a jump, afterwards you aren't using jump or hover, therefore it could be useful in sections that you can't make it past without jumping once, but can with this one jump.
I have a request: Heroes In Another Dimension with as little jumps as possible. Yeah, it's not possible without jumping, and if you want the good ending to take a shot at Guest Star Three Mage-Sisters, you need at least 100 Friend Hearts.
one thing i noticed, lack of missile which is really useful but i cant remember if it requires jumping, and tornado is basically the wind version of burning but a little faster
I would love to see a no jump challenge in Kirby Super Star (Or Super Star Ultra). Might be easier than Amazing Mirror, since copy abilities have more than just one action

Never played this kirby game so it was nice to watch this video. Also why are the tutorial levels usually the hardest levels?
They are generally hard because you dont have a jump replacemant to skip the jump tutorial
ANOTHER EXCELLENT VIDEO GREAT WORK!
Thank You.
"single ability" ah yes, fighter, the copy ability that only has "one ability", fighting
Amazing video! And now I recommend a no jump run of Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.
...I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemies. The amount of damage boosting and burning bashing would make it way less exciting or fun than it sounds.
Fireworks would be quite good in it i think
@@usermcskull4713 you can also inhale a Bronto Burt, then hold it above your head to get a lot of vertical movement
@@aaronjohnson6572 oh i didnt know lol
Do Kirby Super Star Ultra! It has similar movesets to amazing mirror, but the separation of the game into sections would be great to see on this channel.
This series inspired me to do my own spin on beating a game without blank. I chose to do the mario sunshine ds without moving
Mario Sunshine DS?
@@bsharpmajorscale mods
@@mr.sniffly5297 that makes sense
Awesome video! Do Kirby Squeak Squad next!
Ngl, i would love to see Cmee ceaft do a challenge on the og dreamland. We'd definently see the jump counter reach the triple digits with this one
You could try Breath of the Wild without pressing the b button. I haven't thought this through, but I thought it would be a nice sequel to the no jumping challenge. Great vid btw
This dude deserves more subs
I hope that at some point GBA games are playable on the switch
Let’s goooo with another new no jump challenge yay
When you were explaining burning's moveset, the r and n in burn looked like an m so I read Bum instead of burn
Squeak squad!
Or mass attack if that one even counts...
I think seeing you do Kirby 64 would be fun to watch
5:04 hitting a wall with that move shakes the screen a bit, so a headache is possible from burning
My one question is if multiplayer would remove those first jumps? Good job on the challenge CMC!
No it wouldnt, as you cant inhale other kirbies like you could in Return to Dreamland. Thats the only way i could see getting through this area with no copy abilities
@@ThundagaT2 plus, even if you could, it still wouldn't remove those first jumps.
im almost sure if you sucked the sword guy and the cupid guy at the same time you could get a wheel of random powers that picks something for you, so you could get burning before if you got lucky or good enough at reacting
Amazing mirror is truly built different. It’s my favorite Kirby game
YO MY FAVOURITE KIRBY GAME
Yo, it's been quite a while! Glad to find you here!
@@helloyanis :)
That trick where you kept re-inhaling your ability is the same thing that I did to keep my copy ability.
4:23 you could've avoided that twelfth jump by inhaling sword knight and cupie at the same time to trigger a mix
Here’s a really dumb challenge idea I came up up with: Is it possible to beat Miitopia using only one Mii?
Depends what you mean. If you mean, using the same Mii for every character, absolutely. It makes certain quiz challenges impossible, but those let you progress whether you succeed or not, and the same Mii will always like and dislike the same food, which can be problematic
I'm guessing though, you mean completing the game only using your starting character in which case, unfortunately not. There are several points in the game that force you to use other party members, including the final boss, and even some stages where your main character is not available.
@@renatamaclean1163 Oh ok. I didnt know that, so thanks for the info. The idea definitely sounded cooler in my head.
it always feels like im the only person who remembers back when you had one hit before your copy ability goes instead of being able to die from beyond full health without it ever dropping
It certainly shifts the dynamic considerably.
Any challange video i watch near the end they just go mental
You are no exaption and i like it
Cupid should just count as one, as while it is activated by a jump, afterwards you aren't using jump or hover, therefore it could be useful in sections that you can't make it past without jumping once, but can with this one jump.
I have a request: Heroes In Another Dimension with as little jumps as possible. Yeah, it's not possible without jumping, and if you want the good ending to take a shot at Guest Star Three Mage-Sisters, you need at least 100 Friend Hearts.
4:02 except pressing a on land doesn't activate cupid's flying thing. pressing a on land only activates just a jump even when you have cupid
you can remove some of the jumps if you use a tas for that part of rainbow route with the cupid and sword abilities
I like how he implies that we might be brave enough to try this challenge
CMee: gets missile from Bombar
The very many missile enemies before: am I a joke to you?
one thing i noticed, lack of missile which is really useful but i cant remember if it requires jumping, and tornado is basically the wind version of burning but a little faster
Hey, do you know the one classic Kirby game that has a complex moveset? Kirby Super Star.
I would love to see a no jump challenge in Kirby Super Star (Or Super Star Ultra). Might be easier than Amazing Mirror, since copy abilities have more than just one action
YES! Finally, my favorite Kirby game 😃
Finally mah boi burn gets a spotlight
