Awesome review overall, though you should add the resort's physical condition as a category, like which resort is most and least run down or upgraded more recently.

That is a great point, there are massive disparities between rooms and room types, it would be great to show the range of facilities on offer rather than the shiny new things as it can sometimes set unrealistic expectations.
We booked sandals ochi for May! I’ve read some awesome reviews and also read some not so good ones but you know what you can’t beat all inclusive, food, drinks, the beach and pools so I’m gonna take it with a grain of salt and make my own opinion and review out of my stay when I go! This is our first sandals vaca and it was also in our budget so we are excited

My favorite is Montego Bay. Been there many times and cannot get enough. Close to the airport and food is great. Staff is incredible. Knew us by name! Love it so much

Sandals Negril is our 2nd Home. Returning there in 26 more days to Celebrate my Big 70th with our Incredible Butlers Shemoy and Christopher. We stay mostly in the 2 story, 1 bedroom Honeymoon ocean front Butler Suite, usually the same Suite too. Last August we did Royal Caribbean Over the Water Bungalow for 6 nights for my husband’s 70th Celebration. Sandals Negril has our Hearts ❤️
Those two story suites look awesome!
We had Shemoy and Christopher as well. Best butler service EVER!!

Great video we got married in 2018 at Montego Bay it was Beautiful. This June will be our 5yr anniversary and we wanted to try a different resort you gave us a a lot of choices. I’m good towards Negril!
That's a great choice, so hard to choose a favorite, but Negril is definitely near the top for us.
When will you both visit Dunn’s River? We are looking to book and would love a run down.
Negril for all the activity along 7 mile beach. Just more interesting to me. Love the local crab and lobster place just out of the gate on the beach. Also the location of the bay means you're not likely to have any heavy wave action to deal with while doing the ocean.near the shore.

Last year while staying (for a 2nd time) at Royal Plantation we contemplated going somewhere else this year - 2023. The Loyalty desk priced out a room in Grenada and Negril. My husband loves how he is treated at RP and how they - the staff, recognized him from the year before! We also thought about trying out Sandals Dunns River. After talking with other guest who had gone to many resorts why they returned to RP, we chickened out and decided to return to our tried and true as we wanted to guarantee a great experience for what will be our last Sandals trip for many years. (ps- our first year in Jamaica we also stayed at Royal Caribbean and visited Montego Bay. And yes the food at RC was great! Our favorite was the Indian Restaurant but they were all good. And RP French restaurant's food is also amazing. Ochi's restaurants not so much. Meh)
It's hard to beat the service at RP!
Which one has the best sand/beaches? As far as water clarity and blueness goes :)

Great video, thank you for all of the great information. Out of curiosity. WHat is the correct amount to tip the butlers for a stay? I wean to make sure we do not tip the wrong amount.
What most people say is $20 per day per butler. You usually have one butler the arrival and departure day and 2 butlers each of the other days.
Which one has the best gym?
My husband and I will be staying at Sandals Royal Plantation this year. Last year we were at Sandals Negril ❤

Is it very isolated from off resort activities?
The beach is good for swimming and the have a lot of things you can do on the beach. The excursions were more limited with most people doing one or two. For us that was great since we wanted to enjoy the resort.
WE NEED HELP. We’ve been to Sandals in Jamaica back in 2013 and we KNOW what we want (we THINK we know, cause of those dang pigs in EB) and where, but the site has changed and OMG, WE ARE LOST
We were at Sandals Negril last March and the pools were not open 24 hours. They closed fairly early.
No one really gets in them after the bar closes or after dinner, but they told us that the pool is open 24/7 even if there isn't a lifeguard.
Way to break it down!
We have only visited Royal Caribbean but fell in love with the calm water. Any other resort have water like that?

What do you guys think of the overwater bungalows on South Coast vs Royal Caribbean?
We prefer the bungalows at South Coast, more secluded and have better water underneath.
Hi i enjoy your videos thank you. Im 43 planning to take my 19 year old son would you recommend the plantation and Ochi or would you shoot for more of a Royal Caribbean and Montreal vibe? I’d like a cool room and butler but my budget is like 400/pp
Id say Montego Bay because there is so much variety between that one and Royal Caribbean
Interesting take on their resorts. The only one I haven't been to is Ochi. My wife and I were married on New Years Eve 2020 at Sandals South Coast. We stayed there 5 days then went to Negril for 5 days. This was during covid. Negril was empty but we would never go back. Beautiful sunsets, absolutely clearest water of the other resorts but it's very small resort imo. Not the smallest.. But too small for my wife and I. We love South Coast. What you guys don't mention is South Coast is a private resort to Sandals. As in you get no Jamaicans trying to sell you things while you're on resort. Negril the will literally whistle to you from the beach while you're sitting at a bar that not near the water. I agree that the best food was between Royal Caribbean and Montego Bay. We really liked Montego Bay. We traveled there with 2 other couples and made the air planes taking off into a friendly drinking game. The gentleman you showed in your Montigo Rain clip.. That is Tony. He is an absolutely amazing dancer and just all out great entertainer and person. We loved seeing him everyday.
Oddly what you guys didn't mention is the over water bars that are at Montego Bay and South Coast. Those are definitely awesome aspects to those 2 resorts. We go to Dunes River for New Years 2025 with a few couples. We are excited to see the new Jamaican resort for sure. We plan to return to South Coast for our ten year and will take the helicopter from the airport. The drive to south coast is long but I think is important for people to experience. Allows for a mini adventure and you get to learn about Jamaica and it's people..how they live, see their poverty and understand how important you're travels to their country are. It's an amazing country with amazing people and I love every bit of it. Nice video guys! Look forward to seeing other Sandals locations you may travel to.

Would you guys recommend Royal Caribbean if you don’t do the over the water suites? It’s not in our budget, but want a good honeymoon experience. Also, is the plane noise frequent enough to be annoying? Thank you
I didn't find the planes annoying. And we didn't stay at an overwater bungalow and really enjoyed it here. We would definitely go back.
Which sandals in Jamaica do you recommend if you have a little bit of a mobility problem can use a portable scooter or walker me and my sister always do Cruise’s but we would like to spend more time on the island and explore and I like all inclusive resort any advice would be greatly appreciated
Don’t go to Ochi, I just got back from that one and I was commenting the whole trip about how terrible it would be to have mobility issues at this resort. There are stairs everywhere. Uneven surfaces, and poor visibility at night. Also, the resort is so large that you need to take a shuttle to get around and I observed many older people really struggling to get up the steep steps to get into the shuttle. Very few ramps and lots of areas only accessible via stairs.

It’s hard to say because everyone has their own preferences and budget. Couples Resorts have some good resorts as well as Excellence resorts.

@@HoneymoonAlways Thank you so much for the responses. We are currently at Royal Caribbean and are struggling to love it tbh. The whole experience and specially the room is a bit like going back in time to the 80’s, I am not convinced that Sandals knows what it wants to be and who it appeals to. We had a much nicer experience at Zoetry in Punta Cana for example which was not perfect but had a much stronger identity. Serenity in St Lucia was also way better.
I also really struggle to understand who would pay $4.5k/night to stay in the over water bungalows because although they do look amazing, you still share the resort, food and facilities with everyone else so I think that there are much better premium experiences available. I have also learned that if you want to stay at Sandals, you have to have a Butler unless you like getting up at 6am to ensure that you have a sunbed. Part of the issue is that they keep on adding rooms without adding to the facilities which impacts service. We also visited Sandals Negril which was much the same story albeit with a larger beach. It is almost at maximum occupancy here though so I guess that whatever they are doing must still appeal to the majority.
What is your opinion on Sandals Ochi? This will be our first sandals experience and I have found some concerningly bad reviews regrading Ochi
I was at Ochi last week and I like it. But I spoke to other couples who did not so it just depends on your expectations and what you are looking for.
We are going to ochi for our honeymoon in a couple weeks! We will be there for 4 full days. What is the best excursion to do if we pick one?
I think top choice would be catamaran cruise w/ Dunn river falls with the blue hole w/ river tubing a close second.

I would say Grenada if you want lush landscaping.
So are ya saying if I book at one sandals I can go to a nearby one and use their services?
Yes, right now that is true if you stay at Montego Bay, Royal Caribbean or Royal Plantation. With Dunn River opening, we think you will be able to visit from nearby Sandals Ochi as well but not sure yet.
You can’t go to Royal Plantation if you’re somewhere else that’s the only one

Are the pools also open all night at Sandals La Toc?
I’m not sure, most people get out to go to dinner, but that doesn’t mean they are closed.
Royal Plantation is our favorite out of all Sandals.

I just came back from Sandals Ochi yesterday and I was really disappointed especially with the service, and the resort had tons of things broken that needed to be fixed. Broken whirlpools, broken beach showers, etc. our room was just big enough for the bed.. :/ I’ve been to so many all inclusives, and this was one of my least favorite all inclusive I’ve been to. Unfortunately I would not recommend nor would I go again.

South Coast is the best property in Jamaica! IMO Grande St Lucian is the best sandals. We’ve been to most of them and only one i know for sure I need to go back to is GSL

Compare these accommodations with the drab and outdated hotels with poor service provided by unkempt impolite staff in US that charge so much money
