My fiance and I are trying to pick a sandals resort for next february, and a lot of other bloggers have been exclusively positive (and hard to believe).

We've done Royal Bahamian, Royal Barbados and we had a ton of fun in the Bahamas, but we also really enjoyed how nice Barbados was. The rooms were really nice. We are going to Ochi in June so this was nice to see what to expect. It's obviously a more dated resort, but it's still a week in Jamiaca so whose complaining?!
Loved the vid!! Going there in 2 weeks for our honeymoon! For the initial ride to the resort, how big was the bus? Is it one of those charter buses with the little restroom in the back? Or was it just a van?
We love to hear that 😊 the bus was not very big, I would say it roughly held around 10 people along with bags. It was just a van for us, no attached bathroom
Sandles Lounge did not have rum punch before covid. They used to have rum punch and light bites, but they have very little now. I guess Sandals is saving money
Great vlog . Loved the restaurants and entertainment summary - so informative and concise . For the Romeo and Juliet suite did you tip your butler at the end of your break or /and small tip for each request ?
The water is definitely deep enough that you can go out and go swimming, or simply hang out with a drink. they also have floating beach mats in the ocean which is nice! There is not much seagrass at all, overall a nice beach
Is it worth the cost of having a butler? Im debating on which room to get. Also, are the room service food items included in cost or do you have to pay for what you want?
In our opinion we didn’t think the butler was worth it very much - however it made transportation extremely easy! Room service was only available I believe for butler suite guests
Hello, Do you have any comments about the Butler Village Honeymoon Suite Oceanview 1 bedroom on the top level? Are the villas on the top level have steps or elevators?
Unfortunately, we did not get to see that area as we were always on the hillside when it came to rooms. From what I can kind of remember I want to say they are mainly stairs, but there may be an accessible room that has an elevator!
You mentioned your troubles with Club Mobay on the way in booking through Sandals... I already booked through them, what do you recommend doing to make sure we get full access to it both ways? Thanks!
I would call Club Mobay directly day or two before you leave, and make sure both of your names are on their list. They told us that sandals books it on their end but forgets to send it all the way through to them. So make sure you’re on Club Mobays list 😊
Unfortunately, we are not completely sure about that. Neither of us are smokers so it wasn’t something we looked into very much. However, we didn’t notice being bothered by others smoking, however, we could’ve just gotten lucky or it could’ve been non-smoking.
I would say it’s probably not the best venue for that. The beach side is definitely better suited for that than the hillside! There are some places, however that require a lot of stairs, but they do have elevators in the area. But again I would definitely recommend staying on the beach side, not the hillside
Quick question.. I haven’t traveled in a while. Are the covid/ pandemic restrictions lifted to enter Jamaica and to come back to the USA? I’m vaccinated and my boyfriend is not. Also, do we need travel authorization?
Currently you do not need anything to come to and from Jamaica (covid wise)! When we went we just had to have a mask through customs but I believe even that has lifted. You both should be good to travel 😊

When we booked it through sandals, sandals messed up and didn’t have us down when we got there and it was a whole mess. Booking through them directly should eliminate the chance of that happening!
Personally, we would not go back to this resort. We would like to give sandals another try at a different resort. However, this one did not seem to be at the standards we had hoped it to be. I would look into Oyster Bay!
I have gone there three times now, and am scheduled for a fourth. Always have a great time at Ochi. The entertainment in the evening is awesome. My wife and I renewed our wedding vows on our second trip.

Do they have any nonsmoking bars? My biggest turn off at some swim up bars were wet soggy smelly ashtrays ect

It is included if it is in the room! However usually it is just in butler level rooms

Kelly's dockside is one of the better Ochi restaurants.
