Just a quick tip to make super crunchy Bhajjiyas is, first put salt, almost 2 TSP, on freshly cut onion and let it sit for 10 mins. Drain and squeeze excess onion juice and then proceed to add spices.
@@beldengiyou’re not consuming all of it. Most of it dissolves in the liquid it draws out, which is discarded. Also you’re literally deep frying vegetables lmao, this isn’t a health recipe
I just tryed this recipe! But I add one potatoe as well and some curry powder together with chilly powder as I didn’t have ginger and green chilly. It turn out delicious! Thank you

I made this for the 1st time using your recipe and it turned out so good! Thank you for sharing wonderful recipes that can be done by new cooks like me. Cheers.
Tried these last night. Fantastic!!!! The closest to an English restaurant bhaji I've ever made. Subscribed this morning. Looking forward to trying more of your recipes. Thank you for reminding me of home.
Just made a batch from an authentic Indian chef - too much in batter (yes, followed the recipe religiously!) So now going to try these. Nice to see it done step by step. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing this recipe . I relocated to UK (London) recently and live alone. I've don't much choice except cooking or getting a take away bcoz of lockdown3. I tried this snack today and it came out so well. Came here again to write this comment to thank you and to subscribe. Cheers.
I love this recipe. Easy to follow and delicious. I'm gonna make them again this evening the full amount but as there are only me and my husband for supper, will try the freezing method with any left overs - that is if ther are any ... thank you !!!
For everyone who never heard of onion bhaji also known as Kanda bajhia, It's an Indian snack/starter! It's similar to onion rings but more spicy, pungent and more delicious! It's a famous evening snack usually eaten along with chai or tea! It's famous for being consumed in rainy season. What's better than chai and bhaji/pakoras on a rainy day!

Oh my. I've never seen onions done like this. Bet I try them though. They look super delicious. I love fried shoestring onions on a hamburger. But these wee balls of deliciousness would take a burger over the top, especially with a homemade bbq sauce. Sorry shoestrings, you just won't cut it anymore after seeing this recipe. This is a great recipe channel. Thank you for all the new inspirations.
Looking forward to make this dish. For me it will be an ultimate achievement 😃 i love onion bhajis. Winter is the best time to have this dish, in afternoon with tea (chai) 👌
@@Kitchensanctuary Hi,I've discovered that by preparing the onion mix without the flours and bicarb mid morning, the onions go limp and are easier to shape into balls after adding flours etc at cooking time .We're hooked ,having these for tea again today !!
Thanks Nicky, that’s another of your recipes I’ll be trying. Question for you, what do you do with your litre of used oil, can it be reused or do you dispose of it?

I was very tired when I saw the title of this video and my brain saw "Onion Budgies." I thought, "now that *cannot* be right." I'm so glad to see you didn't fry any little birds! 😂
However, budgies are quite delicious though. Ethiopian budgie pie is extraordinary. As is budgie tartare. And for the kids, budgie burgers. One bird....so many options.
That was quite interesting to watch! As an American, I don't think I've eaten or even heard of this kind of thing before, but it looks appealing. (I just heard about it on a british tv show). I'm glad I found your quick, but thorough video about it.
Just tried this for the first time. Wow. Took up a lot of oil. Not sure what to do with it after the cooking. And I made quite a lot so will need to freeze them...
There more onion pakora, a proper bir onion bhaji has egg in it and sized exactly between a golf ball and tennis ball and done properly are delicious, your recipe does look nice though. Xx

Thank you for the recipe🌹We would usually add a table spoon of rice flour and it does wonders to the crunch😁Never tried fenugreek powder either..
Interesting, I've not tried that tip yet, I'll give it a go next time i make them.

Do you think a cookie scoop would work as well to portion out the bhajis for frying?
I've never even heard of these, but I'm thinking a yogurt sauce... perhaps dill or mustard seed?
It's an Indian snack. Eaten with green mint chutney usually
Put some mint in that yogurt
I want to try it now 😭❤️
Thanks 😊
What kind of oil do you recommend?
