Brian Setzer's so inspiring, I took my whole family to experience The Brian Setzer's Orchestra, and we all really enjoyed it, as it was during the holidays. They played Christmas music as well as Stray Cats, Big Band, with it all being simply spectacular. And the massive challenges Brian Setzer had to overcome to make that vision of a band come to fruition, is amazing!
I never really played before so I turned 60 bought gretsch g5210t and I wanna learn to play like this… I know I’ll never come close to Brian I just love that swing sound… thanks for the video
This guy is a guitar magician ... from around 5:10 in the video, he switched to finger picking (faster than I can follow)!!! I had to rewind the video a few times to see what he was doing.
@yourguitarsage 0:50 here is Brian Setzer explaining his picking technique. As you can clearly see, he tucks his pick into his palm and uses the hybrid finger picking style for soloing.
I saw another guy doing this tuck recently--and he has quite a story to why he plays that way. He's even got a video just to explain. I grew up in the Stray Cats era, and never noticed Brian tucking his pick until today.
@@ruger9two That's really good of you to offer. It's stupid of me - but I didn't think to look for it. I just assumed something this old wouldn't be available. Well it seems it is! A book has been released and the transcription apparently updated! It's widely available online. Thanks for your comment, I probably wouldn't have looked had you know mentioned the gif!
@ 3:40 what chords is he doing? They look like jazz chords and the song spinds like Route 66... also looks like hes kinda doing bop & swing at the same time.. idk this is why he is my favorite guitarist.
When I first started trying to learn this in the early 2000’s it made no sense. I knew how to read the music, but it NEVER sounded even close. Gen Z needs to tighten up. Y’all got damn near every bit of information you need at this point.
He definitely has a swing in his soul man! Constantly bouncing his foot! That last lick was it
I don't think there's anything that Brian Setzer CAN'T do with a guitar. Dude is a guitar GOD.
The best in my opinion. Never heard a guitarist that can play like him.
@@dannyherrera2163 you should check out Danny Gatton
This is my favorite video of a some what tutorial video of Brian setzer.. been watching for many years

If brian setzer was a musician in the actual 50s, he would be considered the first greatest guitarist
4:55 Rockabilly shred. Love this guy’s playing.
Such a beautiful blend of styles
Fucking alchemy, these guys are on a different planet, people can practise and copy, but guys like Brian can do it in their own style it's special
I love listening to him play, he can do that all day for me. Huge fan love you Brian.
Hands down for this man! As a classic-guitar-player I understand what he says but my fingers won't.
Es un capo! Lo hace tan natural, con tanta gracia! Genio total Brian querido! ❤
Such a talented and gifted guitar player! One of my top players!
Been with since day 1 Brian! Just love you. Great player. I’m a musician as well and love rockabilly!! 🤘🏼😌
Watching #8, Brian is clearly a jazz player at heart. Beautiful stuff.
Setzer is a class act👍🇺🇸 top shelf
The last bit is so sweet. Epic recording for the ages.
Gotta love his playing.
Has anyone transcribed this? I get stuck with the chords around 3:47 and 4:00.
One of the most fun guitar legends to watch and listen to
Cool, always been fascinated with your music
This guy can cure your depression
This is whole lot better than shred...
And difficult!
There's no melody in shredding.
He's shredding in a whole different way 😎
Damn right it it is
He’s so awesome. Master guitarist, genre creator and good guy. Man crush. He’s awesome.
I love watching this stuff, what a great musician 👍

3:40 a very nice example of this techniqe

Just learnt the 3rd and 4th examples, hopefuly I'll have the last one down by next year! 😂
I wish someone would post a breakdown and explanation of the last piece Brian plays on this video.
I have .gifs of the tabs... not sure how to get them to you, as I don't want to put my email address out there on UA-cam...

Yes, Brian Setzer is a great guitar player, but what I’ve always liked the most about him is how he just exudes coolness.
Saw them from the roof of the Catalyst in Santa Cruz at 15 yo. cause we couldn't get in, right through the huge atrium windows down at the band!!!
He's clean! so good
Brilliant altogether!

СУПЕР! ПРОСТО КОСМОС!))

I remember getting his vhs video a loooong time ago. He was even so good then, I thought yes I’m not good enough for this and put it away.
so many tasty licks in here...I can't believe you can't find the star licks one any more tho...I loved that one...
I havnt seen this since like 2003 when i started playing guitar
Man thats what i was just saying
Sublime
Oh he’s clean as hell
Awesome
A simple lesson from a pro is priceless compared to an exaggerated lesson from mediocrity.
hah i swear i saw this in 2005 as my first introduction to Brian, so night to see it again so many years later
that right hand of his is fire
Que puedo decir...que lo hace muy bien. 🎉
Master!!! 😊❤❤❤
Wow.just wow.!
wow i didn't expect a lesson from the man himself hahahah god bless youtube
Sensacional
Great lesson! I learnt I suck I at playing guitar 😂
Can anyone tell me what model of Gretsch this is
It's just a Gretsch Hot Rod, that Brian had pinstriped, and TV Jones Supertrons installed.
Setzer’s the Shiznik!
I have just been schooled!
@ 3:40 what chords is he doing? They look like jazz chords and the song spinds like Route 66... also looks like hes kinda doing bop & swing at the same time.. idk this is why he is my favorite guitarist.
What is the name and model of this guitar?
Grestch Brian Setzer Hot Rod - this one was custom pinstriped for Brian. AND Brian had TV Jones Supertrons installed in this one guitar.
What is this video taken from?
Legend doesn’t do him Justice
I love that he's wearing a Reverend Horton Heat shirt
Anybody notice the car alarm at 0:50
This is not a lesson, just a cool guy opening a bag of tricks.
GOAT
Hey guys, anyone knows which Gretsch model is he playing?
Hi! I think is a 6120 Nashville, but handmade pinting for him. If they make a serie I'd buy one, like you.
You know someone plays in the stratosphere when you call them a bastard🤣

Rhythm God
Alright alright alright alright alright

GUITAR GOD
The GOAT
What kind of guitar is that ?
It's a Gretsch 6120 Hot Rod, that has been custom pinstriped, and it has TV Jones Supertron pickups.
When I first started trying to learn this in the early 2000’s it made no sense. I knew how to read the music, but it NEVER sounded even close. Gen Z needs to tighten up. Y’all got damn near every bit of information you need at this point.
Dude can show off
👍👏
looks simple enough...
whit long hair becomes yngwie malmsteen
Video Quality is soo BAD,why ?
because this was filmed in the early 2000s long before HD.
I can say I wasn't able to follow this lesson 🤣🤣
brian inspires me to play better as well as to quit playing 🤘😅
ух шайтан.
