    Excellent exposition . Lucidity at its best. Fabian may not remember. I was a part of the group from National Defence College which visited Sri Lanka fnearly five decades ago. We were lodged in Oberai Five Star hotel. Fabian from the High Commission briefed us and told us that although we were in a luxury hotel we should better eat in a ramshackle Tamilian cafe nearby. I asked him why this caveat , why should GOI treat us unworthy of dining in Oberoi. I was impressed by his reply. He said, "Don't you think GOI should be appreciated for "upholding your prestige without upsetting your budget."

      @@jonron3805 I don't think siding with Palestine is biased. Palestine has been occupied bit by bit by Israel. And that's the reality, the BJP supporters might say that this was Jewish land, but literally they have reduced Palestine to the furthest corner. And if historical territories are the defacto marker of today's nation state. Then we are entering into very tricky territory ourself. What happened in Israel is shocking, inhuman and vile. But Israel has called open invasion of Gaza, its like Israel waited for this opportunity to make the Palestinian people stateless once and for all. But if you put India into occupation and that's been happening since decades, what option do you have? That's what the real situation is.

    • @jonron3805
      @jonron3805 Рік тому

      @@kallolpoetry Israel has told the non-combatants to move away so that they can fight with just the people in combat. Thats a move to save people. On the other hand Hamas is stopping people from moving and even worse Egypt is preventing any refugees to enter. So these people are equally brutal. Basically Hamas wants to use these people as human sheild and gain humanatarian group sympathy.
      In the 1990's the PLO and Israel has both compromised and agreed on peace. BOTH lost some part of what they wanted but sensibly thought of the innocents. The Hamas started the whole fight again.
      Why do you think anyone should show Hamas sympathy who disrupted a hard to make peace process and who use innocents as sheilds?

    👍 Fabian put the nail on the heads world leaders who, in fact, have become morally bankrupt, and they take actions/decisions which they think, are correct.
    India should continue to uphold the right of Palestinians for a homeland of their down. What Fabia.n is conveying is that as long as Palestinians do not an international recognised homeland of their own, there will be no peace. The sooner Israel recognises, supports this issue, the sooner the establishment of peace in the Middle East.

    Folke Bernadotte, Count of Wisborg (2 January 1895 - 17 September 1948) was a Swedish nobleman and diplomat. In World War II he negotiated the release of about 31,000 prisoners from German concentration camps, including 450 Danish Jews from the Theresienstadt camp. They were released on 14 April 1945.[1][2][3] In 1945 he received a German surrender offer from Heinrich Himmler, though the offer was ultimately rejected.
    After the war, Bernadotte was unanimously chosen to be the United Nations Security Council mediator in the Arab-Israeli conflict of 1947-1948. He was assassinated in Jerusalem in 1948 by the paramilitary Zionist group Lehi while pursuing his official duties. Upon his death, Ralph Bunche took up his work at the UN, successfully mediating the 1949 Armistice Agreements between Israel and Egypt.

      Is firing thousands of rockets indiscriminately all over Israel is justified? Abducting civilians (including women and children) and taking them as human shields justified?

    Mr Fabian is an objective observer. most politicians never mention the root cause of 75 years of occupation. I'm not well informed about how zionist Israhell was established in history. this is an eye-opener. thank you, Mr Fabian. you remind me of the Igrate Indian hero, and champion of humanity, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. history never forgets heroes.

    Very well spoken. One question- Does Hamas care for Gazans? If they did , would they have acted in this manner? Do they want a solution? Both Israelis and Hamas are two sides of the same coin, to be unequivocally condemned.
