To be honest, it seems like people are more concerned with defending individuals that have taken it upon themselves to misguide and confuse the masses than defending the deen!!!
I applaud the salafi for his bravery and manhood in facing these indivduals and i urge every sunni(knowledgable and wise) who has gherah for the deen to do the same.
Lastly, I would like to advise the layman to have gherah(jealousy) for this wonderful religion. Don't hold anybody above the deen.

Subhaanallaah! This strongly reminds of the following Hadeeth:
'Abdullaah ibn 'Amr رضی اللہ عنھما reported: The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه و سلم said, “Verily, Allaah does not withhold knowledge by snatching it away from His servants, but rather He withholds knowledge by taking the souls of scholars, until no scholar remains and people follow ignorant leaders. They are asked and they issue judgments without knowledge. Thus, they are astray and lead others astray.”
[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 100, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2673]

Being as student of Islamic University we hope he reflects the understanding and fortitude of the scholars he learned from and not play around with the credit he garnered for being their student. Brother I HIGHLY encourage you to learn from face to face authentic scholars. The Internet is filled with differences of opinions and that can be very harmful for beginners who want to learn deen. It can be confusing because you are not sure who to follow. To make sure you dont fall in this trap. Go and sit with real authentic scholars who dont follow any innovations. Go and sit with real people of knowledge who follow the Prophet(SAW) and the sahaba. May Allah tala grant you a lot of wisdom, good character and ability to implement on the knowledge ameen
If you want to become a scholar than what my narrow mind thinks is the best way is to: 1 start learning Arabic
2 go to scholars of saudia or go to their schools. Id try to be cautious of any other countries universities. For example, there is a very famous university called "El Azhar" I wanted to go to, not long after I heard a story of grand scholar El Albani with one of their previous students. You would be quiet surprised of the massive error they teach their students on the topic of belief. I advise you to stick to saudia. May Allah guide you

First of all, which scholar preceeded him in this? Is he referring back to the scholars? If not, who said he can give fatwa on his own? He is not a mujtahid. Secondly, he seems to not understand that something impermissible only becomes permissible when there is no other alternatives and not choosing that haram alternative is more harmful than to choose it. He already threw out all other halal alternatives and what only remained was that riba based loan. Now, he may think that he is thinking outside the box as if the scholars who say it is totally prohibited dont know that there are people living in tough climates. Believe me the scholars are more wise and knowledgeble than what some baby students of knowledge may think so refer back to them!! The scholars understood what necessity is, Muneer missunderstood what necessity is. Why? This is the side effect of Me, myself and I type of mentality. Muneer didnt even pay attention to that which Sheikh Al-Albani said. The scholars are much more knowledgeble than us, they know things we dont know.
When Sh. Muhammad bin Hadi said there are no scholars in america but in the Muslim lands & heart of the lands of Islam is Saudi I thought for a second Arabia on a map seems to hang like a heart from Africa, Asia and europe, very interesting...

I don't like how they say this is a need for living because there are so many options for a person rent. Sure you don't own your property and you will not own it long term but it is better for you to lose money renting which is halal than to make more money going through haram.

I always see these comments. In such refutation videos. But all I can say these comments are biased. Because if muneer refuted someone from ISIS openly. Nobody will have such comments up? Why? Why don't they reach out to the ISIS individual privately?
You should reach out to the brother when he makes these mistakes and ask him to publicaly correct himself. Most people are in echo chambers.

@۞ عبد الله ۞ that's a gross assumption. As a white convert the black Muslims I've seen are the last ones to consider race in an issue of the Deen. Allah keep our ummah strong and united upon the truth. He was simply suggesting a more effective way to address the brother, so he can inshallah correct his mistake.
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
If a man commits evil deeds openly, then he must be denounced openly, and speaking ill of him will not be regarded as gheebah (backbiting). He should be punished openly with a punishment that will deter him, such as shunning and other punishments. He may not be greeted with salaam and his greeting may not be returned, provided that the one who does that is able to do it without it causing certain trouble. Good people and religiously-committed people should shun him after he dies, by not attending his funeral, as they shunned him when he was alive, if that could serve the purpose of deterring other sinners of his ilk.

Sheikh Saleh Al Munajjid Said:
But if this sinner commits a sin openly and blatantly, then this is blameworthy and reprehensible; and he should be hated for the sake of Allah commensurate with his sin. All possible measures should be taken to stop him and protect the people from his evil, even if that is by means of shunning him, because he is persisting in sin and boasting about it, and people are no longer safe from his evil.
Ibn Rajab (may Allah have mercy on him) said: If the aim is no more than highlighting the truth of the matter, so that people will not be deceived by the wrong notions uttered by that person, then undoubtedly he (the one who seeks to give advice) will be rewarded for his intention, and on the basis of his intention he will be regarded as being sincere towards Allah, His Messenger, the leaders of the Muslims and their common folk.
( al-Farq bayna an-Naseehah wa’t-Ta‘yeer (p. 7))

What’s the reference for the Hadith that 1 dirham is worse than 36 acts of fornication? I feel like this would wake up a lot of people to stay away from such transactions in Sha Allah.
It's in Mishkaat al-Masaabih, Hadeeth #2825. It's been authenticated by Shaykh al-Albaanee رحمه الله.
You will always find the fornicators are those who do usury. It is like saying fornicating as a need.

This is between him and Allah, he has advices close to him who will advise the ruler to their knowledge. The world and the rulers are going to get worse and worse as time goes by for us the general people we have to be patient and ask Allah for aid and help. This was the advice of Anas ibn Malik ra)

When the other recognised scholars recognise you as a scholar, then you are a scholar!
A true scholar is Someone who teaches and propagates the sunnah; a person who arrives at the correct verdict using proofs from the Quran, sunnah and books of the salaf.
Doesn’t have to be immensely knowledgeable with many books, or memorize Quran, but rather it is what I mentioned above.
In contrast someone who is a fake scholar are people who give verdicts to please the people, or to satisfy their own desires or agenda, someone who teaches innovation, etc

If you are in a harsh winter there is the option of subway, bus, or getting job working from home. It’s not the same to say I will consume interest because I have no choice. Eating pork because you have no other food is really out of necessity and to say a car is necessary in East Coast winters is not equivalent.

How do you know he hasn’t? How do you know brothers haven’t advised him before?
And even if he didn’t, that is not a condition to refute someone, especially in situations with those who spread falsehood in the name of dawah.
Rather it’s befitting he refutes him publicly as he announced this evil publicly, and hopefully the video will reach him and he’ll retract.

Taking and paying are distinct. They then prohibit taking a loan .
Taking a loan is paying intrest not receiving it.
The Qur'an mentioned taking interest also.
Can this be clarified .
Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah has cursed the one who consumes usury, its client, its witness, and its recorder. Usury and adultery do not become widespread among people but that they will become vulnerable to the punishment of Allah Almighty.”

Some hanafi scholars outlined what you are mentioning as one of the proofs to say that a mortgage can be halal in certain restricted circumstances. However the hadith on the matter is clear that the one who deals in or witnesses ribaa is cursed by Allah azza wajjal. Dr Yusuf Qardawi and the European Council are two sources you can research to learn about this opinion. Allah knows best I am still learning about ribaa myself.
Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed the one who accepted usury, the one who paid it, the witness to it, and the one who recorded it.

You say it like this is a small error. Is making halal what is harām a small error? It’s not just harām but of the greatest major sins. Do you want the people to stay silent with the public whilst they are been given fatwa that will cause them to sin? Do you allow the religion to be changed? Did Allāh not command us to refute evil publicly when it is announced publicly? Think before you comment.
