I still think Human was their best album as a whole. From the intense opening all the way through, it was a heavy metal masterpiece. Death is actually underrated in my opinion.
+Robert Paul Gass 100% agree - Human is the most important album of death metal - concept / execution / musicality / message / legacy. I was 13yo when this came out - i remember the day i listened to creeping drums in triplets... never stopped listening to this album... the new remaster done by Jim Morrison is so good - toms and bass up - much needed for this master piece. Death is the only band that could do different things on each album and be relevant. Human and Individual... are my all time best.
+Walamonga 1313 music is solid - Chuck's voice is just too much on this album. i am stuck with Human and Individual... as my all time fav - permanent fixture on my iphone.
I believe death was too good for their time. I think they're only underrated to the non metal heads. True metal heads know that DEATH is the fucken shit. long live chuck
These videos are great... I met Sean while Death was promoting this album. During their “In Human” Tour they played here in Atlanta at the old Masquerade. After the gig, Chuck was busy but smiled and shook my hand in passing, however Sean stopped and spoke to me and my best friend at the time (MM). He was very polite, friendly and down to earth dude. It was a great show. Still got the shirt I bought that night. For the 15 year old version of myself, it was a very cool night in January of 1992. R.I.P. Sean Reinert
getting fucking goosebumps seeing Chuck and Scotty talking bout the leads....I was 4 then but still...glad I ever stepped into the realm that is death fucking metal!
Human was the first death metal album I bought in 2007 when I was 13 years old and this album change my life and my conception for heavy music forever! Riffs, lyrics, solos, vocals... Extremely perfect! I miss you Chuck!
He passed away in 2001. That was when I just started getting into Death. I already was way into Morbid Angel & Cannibal Corpse. First Death album I bought was Individual Thought Patterns. Spiritual Healing is my favorite. Human is great too.
I keep thinking, even a a metal place like Morris Sound, that at the time they had to be thinking that these guys were on another level than most with regards to writings and talent of each player. The drumming at the time was some of the most impressive I had heard at the time and stands to this day. I am amazed at the drumming on this album.
this is a relic. Thanks for sharing this video!!.... I was only a little kid during this era, but I am so greatful to discover all the great music this bands made. You go to Death, Carcass, Morbid Angel, Cynic, Atheist, Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, Entombed, Obituary and they all sounded different, yet they all make great music.
I found out after a year that Chuck passed away and honestly even if I didn't met him neither went to Death concert's I almost shed a tear because his music was big part of my life since I was 15 years old, the first time I heard about Death was on TV and that's how I got into death metal (15 years later I found out that my song likes Death too) , then I heard the album Human and I was speechless, Chuck's music is amazing. Now I had the privilege to listen to Human "Deluxe Edition" and those instrumentals solos are just perfect to listen at the office lol
Death-- the most underrated band in metal history. I know, I know, that's hyperbole. But still, the way they could be so heavy and brutal while at the same time sounding melodic and even...elegant. They were amazing. RIP to Chuck and Sean...gone but not forgotten!
i'm so glad i was able to grow up in this era. This is when death metal/thrash/hard core/punk/etc were true & great songs were being written. Then this grunge/alternative scene broke in the 90's. I remember going to see the famous GiganTour in the mid 90's in Toronto,Ontario,Canada & it was obviously Megadeth,Slayer,Anthrax & Alice N Chains which was very odd & Alice n Chains took a lot of abuse on that tour from fans & the other bands, but they took it with grace & powered through it. Jerry Cantrell & Michael Inez are true metal musicians & Michael Inez has played in some very iconic metal bands such as Ozzy & Black Label Society.
You can see the guitar player laying down almost sleeping and air playing the lead section while “ sleeping “ lol . Brings a new meaning to playing in their sleep.
QuietHero ask anyone that knew Chuck. The man loved his weed. He probably was high. That is by no means an insult as I almost worship him but it is the truth
the 90s seemed like such a quiet and simple time for some reason. i know it wasnt any different then how things are now, but it feels like shit from here on out will just be complicated. sucks getting older
1991 was such an awesome year for death metal...i mean it really meant something to wear your Entombed...or Carcass tshirt...but the spirit is not lost...DSBM is what i primarily listen to now...as well as Deicide and Death...
They’re not actually mixing, more like Scott had finished mixing and presenting the mix to the band. Good video though. Wondering what desk Scott was using.. looks digital.
Is Steve Digiorgio recording this footage? He's the only one I don't see, and all the camera angles are also aiming downward like it's being filmed by a taller fella
Where can I find more Death recording session or rehearsal videos? I’ve seen the rehearsal vids from 1991 when they were getting ready to hit the road for the Human tour. Is there any other footage of the band in studio or rehearsing that is from other eras of the band? Thanks In advance! 🤙🏻🙏🏻😎
There's something magic about them hearing "new Van Halen" in the van on the way over to Morrisound. What an era!
The Best.
I would love to see "The Sound of Perseverance" sessions!
RIP Chuck and Sean... 😥 It's hard to believe at both of them are now gone...
😢😢😢😢😢
Rest in peace, Sean Reinert.
I still think Human was their best album as a whole. From the intense opening all the way through, it was a heavy metal masterpiece. Death is actually underrated in my opinion.
Robert Paul Gass Sabbath is heavy metal, Death is... need I explain further?

+Robert Paul Gass Sound of Perseverance man! It should be called "The Sound of Perfection". Human is a close second.
+Walamonga 1313 music is solid - Chuck's voice is just too much on this album. i am stuck with Human and Individual... as my all time fav - permanent fixture on my iphone.

All the death metal that came out of Morrisound in early 90s is top quality on every level. Mad respect to Scott and the guys.
These videos are great...

I envy you so much. I really wish I was born before this era of metal. So happy for you, bro.
I find it hilarious that Chuck and the gang rolled around in a Ford Aerostar.
And listening to the Steve Miller Band.
this video is GOLD
getting fucking goosebumps seeing Chuck and Scotty talking bout the leads....I was 4 then but still...glad I ever stepped into the realm that is death fucking metal!

Yeah! Van Halen's Track "Poundcake" during their ride session. Human album one of my favorite albums by death. RIP Chuck Schuldiner.
I'm bummed he's gone but I'm soooo glad that his records and memory reign upon the metal community. keep it alive!!

What you see and hear in this video is a pure epic musical wizardry.
Watch, listen and learn, kids.
Sad to think that they're both dead now, Chuck and Sean.
This album was brilliant.
I miss Chuck and all his writing. He formed great projects, and help pioneer the genre.

Pantera was the saving grace of metal in the 90’s. Type o too.
Thank you for this !!!!! ROCK ON CHUCK
You can see the guitar player laying down almost sleeping and air playing the lead section while “ sleeping “ lol . Brings a new meaning to playing in their sleep.
hes high or he was one of them "naturally stoned" people
Probably just calm. Do get that vibe from him though, but I'd say he's just a naturally calm guy.
QuietHero ask anyone that knew Chuck. The man loved his weed. He probably was high. That is by no means an insult as I almost worship him but it is the truth
They clearly just smoked before leaving that hotel at the start, dudes lol.

Naturally high

2:12 - INJUSTICE STICKER NEAR SEPULTURA!!!!! - INJUSTICE(NECRO'S DEATH METAL BAND WHEN HE WAS 12 YRS OLD)
I bought that Van Halen on cassette right about the time I was getting deep into Human.
THANK YOU!
Wow, incredible footage.
Damn, those were the days. Watching this makes me smile...
THANK YOU
hahaha the Zooming in to the face never gets old :) hahahaha
Great video.Thanks)
They're digging the "new Van Halen" in 1991, love how the musicians they are immediatly within seconds know by sound of just the drum intro its VH
Sweet footage!
There is a similar footage of Sepultura recording 1991 Arise at the same studio. So they probably met each other there many times.
I know this video of the Arise recording, but even that Max and Chuck sent letters to each other back in the days, they never met in person.
OMG, i can't believe what i watched there!!!!!
chuck was grandiose in his age .. damn cancer. we were all like that.
ageless, fearless of death, yet it comes. too soon, always.
Nice find OP.
WTF!!!
historical times of death metal
:)
My favorite band
what song was that 4:10?
Flattening of emotions
Epic footage
just the old EP Paul and Sean did in 89 Uroboric Forms and Thinking Being were two I remember on it with Jason Gobel (guitars) and Tony Choy (bass)
Stupid questions I know, but anyone know the name of the Van Halen song playing on the radio at 1:35?
Poundcake
Thanks.
No such thing as a stupid question, my friend.
@@michaelperez4304 Especially when it's about music
ahhh the fly on the wall I never could be
this could be tutorial footage for how not to annoy anyone with your camera while shooting a mixing session documentary
Killer upload my friend..you tube just got a lot better \,,/
Барабанщику этой замечательной группы, видно, что всё по барабану.
Теперь точно, его не стало(

Geniuses at work!
"New Van Halen"... Damn! "F.U.C.K" album is 20 years old now and so is "Human". I'm getting old :\
Now 31 years old😪
@Pestilentich
I was about to ask the same... who is filming? I don't think is Steve DiGiorgio
THE LEGEND OF DEATH METAL!!!
i wonder if they knew how important this album was going to be when they were recording it.
Why the bass ended up so buried in this?
They’re not actually mixing, more like Scott had finished mixing and presenting the mix to the band. Good video though. Wondering what desk Scott was using.. looks digital.
He was probably using an harrison console 32c maybe
masvidal driving? this album was the shit!!!!!!!!!!
very good lp
Is Steve Digiorgio recording this footage? He's the only one I don't see, and all the camera angles are also aiming downward like it's being filmed by a taller fella

Where can I find more Death recording session or rehearsal videos? I’ve seen the rehearsal vids from 1991 when they were getting ready to hit the road for the Human tour. Is there any other footage of the band in studio or rehearsing that is from other eras of the band? Thanks In advance! 🤙🏻🙏🏻😎
