This video is very interesting; have not quite seen an orchestra do the song before, and I must have seen ....many many versions, ? 50. Anyway, this is terrific; thank you for posting. If Bobby Troup were watching, he would give this performance a standing ovation.
I love everything about Route 66 and also drove on parts of it 4-5 times now. My favorite was a road trip between Texas and Vegas (there's a video on my channel here: ua-cam.com/video/5IMmr3w_8Ys/v-deo.html). If you have sometime, check it out... I'd love to know what you think! :) Cheers!
can't anyone tell me who created this song? I want to learn it on guitar but there are so many different songs called route 66 its almost impossible to find the song without knowing the artist.
it 's a Blues as played commonly by Jazz musicians for the chords changes and progression .Here the guitar player don't make a good job and don't fit with the group trying unsuccessfully to swing .For accurate and Top rendition of this tune and phenomenal guitar playing look and listen to JOHN PIZZARELLI .
Lil girl KILLED the vocals. If she had a better outfit, I'd say this was flawless, timeless, and classic! Just no midriff lady, that's all I'm saying. THis is jazzzzzzz........... lol
My French comment was positive and nothing about the cute singer .I also listen without looking and it sounds pretty well.I was simply confounded the way Haru Takaushi seems "losted" (ex.at 1mn50s) his right hand don't stick the groove but he probably delivers some chops and counterpoints accents .
Great rendition of a classic. Vocals are killer, Carolyn is phenomenal-not to mention instruments. Thanks for sharing
Just a great performance! Fantastic vocal and amaizing saxophone!
Carolyn is a voice so lovely. Bravo.

Really great! That old slap bass just adds to the sound like no electric bass can do.
Lovely, superb, outstanding...
Wow! That was crazy good!
A jazz band with a violin section.....nice/neat.
Yesssssss!!!!

Decent version, even though it's played a bit "rigid". Nice vocal work also.
Carolyn is sweet and hot. And she can sing.

Route 66 played by indonesian musicians
Sometimes too much "elegance" can fuck up a good song, this is a good example
where was the elegance , have you heard Troupes original ? ,they did well" all Musos" as we say in Liverpool.
Great band with vocal. The strings section is unnecessary for the style of music
douchey alto solo
do better.
Duo You're joking right?
