- David Matthews and Friends, A group of musicians from the MJO play this standard arranged by Dave. Featuring Lew Soloff Trumpet, George Young Tenor Saxophone with Terry Silverlight Drums and Chip Jackson Bass
This is what jazz is all about … why not in 2022 ?? I’m now 82 and swing to this sort of inspiration every day
My goodness.. The bass player knocked it out the park..
RIP Mr Soloff..Nobody blew a better horn!
Lew is incredible - just discovering him.
George Young should be the most famous saxophonist of our time. He's incredible.
That is a tremendous bass solo.
I'm always revisiting this
same here
This is an excellent Up beat arrangement of a slow Number!
Well done!
Now if this ain't the coolest version of 'Smoke', I'll eat my Bach. What a bad ass groove.
In the pocket? Oh yea!
SWANGING BABY!!!!!!

いい乗りだね。
How about the piano accompaniment from 4:03 to 4:09
mr jackson knows his way around technically but thats it for me.nip over to my romance with the manhattan jazz orchestra on utube and catch the great michael moore and you will know what i mean.many thanks great upload.
exjazzbass baz, Went and listened to Michael Moore on My Romance...I must agree with you, much more musical solo than this one, IMHO. And, if it ain't about musicality, what should music be about? Hence I love Gary Peacock (and others).
