i hope this channel makes more videos on this topic
The best - thank you!
Hey I’d like to make my pet hamster glow in the dark, can I get the kit?
i want to bioengineer myself
Well explained thanks guys
Brilliant video
Thank you for the clear explanation💯
You're welcome! Be sure to check out all of the videos on our CRISPR playlist from Bio-Rad and other UA-cam channels!
superb.
좋아요!
👏
Good
is there a continuation?
What does the heat shock step do?
Hi, Diana! The heat shock is part of the bacterial transformation step used to incorporate a plasmid, either pLZDonor or pLZDonorGuide, into the cell. For more info, visit bio-rad.com/teachCRISPR
Out of the Blue CRISPR Kit and Genotyping Extension is not on your page???
Hi, MT - you can learn more at www.bio-rad.com/outoftheblue
What is in the transformation solution?
Hi, Solange! Transformation Solution is a sterile CaCl2 solution. You can learn more about the bacterial transformation and the role of transformation solution from our family of pGLO bacterial transformation kits: visit bio-rad.com/pGLO and bio-rad.com/teachpGLO for more info. The manuals discuss the role of transformation solution in plasmid transformation which, for the Out of the Blue CRISPR Kit, is the method in which the plasmids pD and pDG are introduced into the cells.
is this pseudomonas aeruginosa?
did you even watch the video
I live in Ethiopia. This kit will be used to teach students about the CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing technology. Is it possible for me to obtain it? If so, from what source? Thank you for the interesting presentation.
Hi, Hewan! Let's continue this conversation - please send us your request at bio-rad.com/ExplorerHelp
could you explain the results please?
Hi, Chitraja! Check out the FREE student and instructor manuals at bio-rad.com/outoftheblue for additional information and help to understand the experiment.
@@BioRadEducation it is coming that this content is not available in my region.
Hi, Chitraja! Please send an email to us at explorer@bio-rad.com and we'll help you out. Thanks!
Lol I guess two blue, one white, one dead
Can I use this to knock out myostatin gene
Hi, Karen! The kit only knocks out the lacZ gene in the bacterial chromosome. It is for educational use to teach CRISPR gene editing and isn’t able to be adapted to knock out other genes.
@@BioRadEducation what tools able to knock out then?
Hi,@@pipony8939! A different guide RNA sequence would be needed to target a gene other than lacZ. The Out of the Blue CRISPR Kit only targets the bacterial lacZ gene, as the guide RNA sequence is for that of lacZ.
@@BioRadEducation what is the reason that for each target you need a different guide RNA sequence?
Hi, @@pipony8939! Yes: each guide RNA is specific for the DNA sequence of the target. Thus, if you wanted to target a different gene you would use a different guide RNA, and that guide RNA would have a specific sequence that matches the desired target gene. You can watch and learn about this and how CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing works in our CRISPR Explained: Gene Editing History, Technology, and Applications video at ua-cam.com/video/tNocAc5TKvw/v-deo.html starting around 15min and 40seconds of that video.
I want to gene edit to make bomb ass espresso, can I have a kit? 😇😇
