These things really need a buff, or at least the spear and axe do. The damage drop off is so severe that it almost ruins the point of a thrown weapon when you might as well melee with them.
And I mean, I get it: it was always going to be tricky to balance a melee weapon that is also an infinitely reusable ranged weapon, but in their current state, the fantasy of the throwing weapon build is just not being achieved.
The smithscript cirque is honestly one of my favorite weapons in the dlc. It goes kinda crazy on a bleed infusion because the throw can hit multiple times
Great run! Btw I learned to my bafflement and horror earlier that if you put War Cry or Barbaric Roar on the smithscript axe, it changes the r2 throw to…. the same altered heavy combo of any other axe with those ashes on 😢 was really hoping for a cool heavy version of the throw
I feel like there should be a challenge among the streamers of who can survive the longest against Radahn. You cannot do any damage, just keep dodging his attack and let’s see who survives the longest.
I've been "accidentally" doing this challenge on my first DLC playthrough and am having a blast doing it. That smithscript Circq's tracking on the jumping throws is incredible. It can circle around and hit people from the back, ignoring their shields half the time. Grave birds/flying enemies are a joke on horseback because the throw almost always knocks them out of the air. And NPC invaders have the same issues with dodging them as they do delayed spells - Magic glintblade, rock throw, etc. They'll roll through the initial throw and get caught by the tracking as the blades follow them. It's great. lol
I only beat Radhan because of the stomp chain, since he traded me out of my ash of war and since it does comparatively very little damage I could spam it 5 times in a row and then he got staggered and then he was like 1 hit away from death.
This is the second projectile weapons only video I've seen but man is it better then the first, I really like the fact that you went out of the way to start at lvl 0 and only use items in the dlc and tried to use all the weapons available to you in the challenge that you could
Pretty sure the random teleport the final boss sometimes does in his flickering multi-attack thing is relevant when you play with spirit summons or NPCs or other players. He basically uses it to interrupt people who were taking a moment to heal/buff while the boss has his attention on another target, further reducing the meager amount of openings you get.
Metyr's blast is dodgeable, you just need to be in the right place. If you noticed, there's always a gap between the laser and the circle beneath her when she first starts and when she ends. If you run directly in before she starts to close it, you can escape it. If you run away as she goes upwards and starts blasting, you can also squeeze into the gap. It's tough, but doable
46:52 Can't relate. For me I thought you're supposed to finish it off with a riposte and one time when I almost didn't riposte it and it started glowing, I rushed over there and BARELY got the riposte.
