@@droc742 I mean like the base game you can B line it to the final boss fairly fast, I think you only need to kill a grand total of 2 bosses before killing the final boss. The map is actually huge, it's about 1/3 the size of the base game but feels even bigger due to the layout of verticality. The annoying part is that two of the map fragments are off in optional side area's. One of the last pieces being visible after finding the first map fragment which is even worse. “Oh a starting from nothing run, that’s cool, I saw another UA-camr do something similar but just for the first area and that doesn’t seem too bad if you know what to-…this is a BLIND PLAYTHROUGH?!”
Paddy Does A One Bro has also been doing something similar lol, he did his first playthrough of the entire game without leveling up a single time and has continued it into the dlc.
That's the one boss I'd consider poorly designed from this entire game. Like, sure, you can learn it and eventually dodge all of its attacks but it's so much harder than it needs to be when there's constant light flashes across your screen so half the time you can't even see what you got hit by. Not to mention that if you get hit once, you're pretty much guaranteed to get stunlocked since, again, you can't see anything and also the light beams stunning you for longer delays your roll inputs making it so you just roll into another attack. This was the only fight (besides the battle royale) that I was okay with summoning the Mimic Tear on my first playthrough for and thank god I did since my successful attempt ended with me dying, getting the long death animation and giving my mimic enough time to deal the finishing blow and win me the fight.
@@lukasruston8618 while I completely understand your point I kinda feel the opposite. At first my reaction was definitely “this is horseshit” but when I actually looked at my health bar and realized the first few hits did like no damage and I could afford to just tank them it became less of an issue than say waterfowl dance. Malenias a good point of comparison cause while I think you could make the case for either being “harder” I feel like radahn has less “gimmicks” I’ve only fought him once so while I could be wrong, I don’t think he has the same hyper armor that allows for just deciding they don’t want to be poise broken at that moment. He doesn’t have status aside from the one blood flame move he does do infrequently it’ll never actually proc and he’s vulnerable to rot and poison himself. And of course he doesn’t have the heal back mechanic. He’s for sure a pain in the ass but felt like his moves are more consistent in how you dodge them and which ones are punishable even if the windows are small. The light beams also while annoying weren’t TOO bad for me, as long as you sorta stay attached to his hip and dodge to the side you should be avoiding them, but as you said the most annoying part isn’t even the damage or how to avoid them but just trying to tell what’s going on while being flash banged every few seconds. Idk I’m kinda in a weird spot where I don’t think I’d personally consider him poorly designed but I also don’t think I’d be comfortable arguing he isn’t
@@Jwoosle Honestly, I wouldn't be nearly as critical of that boss if he had an exploitable weakness throughout the whole fight. The problem is he becomes immune to rot in the second phase (at least, according to the wiki) and the poison does so little damage that on a successful attempt, it would only do like 5000 damage which is how much damage I normally do in about 3 attacks and that just doesn't feel worth it to me.
Honestly the final fight from the perspective of a no hit run is insanely atrocious with the flash bang spam. Same for a low enhancement run without using the dlc upgrade stuff. However, if you actually go in with maxed out gear and good holy res armor you can sort of just hyper poise through the beam spam and focus on parrying the melees. Sure you’ll take damage but it wasn’t enough to do more than make me heal once or twice after each finisher. It’s not the best but min maxing so you can just out trade the boss in terms of damage is a valid tactic.

The funniest part of this is out of all the Radahn fights I've watched, I have never seen someone get their heart stolen, because anyone who's getting hit by the grab doesn't live long enough to get grabbed a second time, and anyone who lives long enough to get grabbed twice isn't getting hit by the grab anyway.

Yeah the beauty of souls games it that you can really play it however you want and have a whole different experience just based off of your build or how you approach things and whatnot. Nothing wrong with brute-forcing either, what's most important is doing what is most fun :)
I have seen a few play throughs after my own and I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed your experience with the DLC! It was great seeing how excited you were. 1:54:12 had me absolutely dying of laughter. Amazing content! Good job, buddy.
Crazy you did this for your first playthrough lol. At the same time though... I felt kinda trapped using my main weapon from base game. Didn't want to respec or get used to new weapons while trying to fight new enemies lol.
Same, I only learnt later on that I wasn't even using the best damage type for most bosses. Holy damage stomps so many of them lol. I was using Blasphemous Blade and then later was farming with Sacred Relic Sword and it's basically the best weapon ever, insane damage, knocks down enemies like pre nerf BB too. Also some of the new weapons are just as insane for damage and I never knew until the final boss.
I swear you are the second person I have seen find the 3rd finger ruins early, die to the invader and then leave thinking they only had one chance, when it's just night based.
I can appreciate someone who purposefully makes their gameplay experience more difficult (not summoning/using a high-damage/poise weapon) and doesn’t then complain about it. Actually enjoying the difficulty of the game. It’s really fun to see
The dlc has only been out for what 2+ weeks? (Sure feels like only 2 weeks) And this man is going ham with the challenges. Keep gaming (and living) you legend!
Very similar to what I've done for my first proper DLC playthrough, though I did make my character RL150 to have more of a fighting chance. But it is a lot of fun trying to only use DLC weapons, talismans, armor etc. to make a cohesive build!
I am about a week late but I have to say this. Randomizer runs with Shadow of the Erdtree are going to go hard with the final boss in the mix. If somehow they can restrict that from being randomized I think things will be better off. After all you don't want to fight HIM randomly in a full on progression required part except for the end. Like imagine fighting him for Messmer's boss fight and you need to kill that for like Kindling if that isn't randomized.
42:20 for all people who are wondering why this happend its a bug, if he would succeded in killing the invasion the hole quest line will bug out and you miss the boss and loot, if this happened to you go down the ladder and teleport back to the bonfire and he will sit there again and the quest line can proceed as normal.
Nah I'm pretty sure it wouldn't break the questline at all. Ymir is just missing from his chair because he's out in the graveyard (because night time), I then attempted the invasion and failed, which when I respawned time passed to day and he was back there. He even has dialogue saying that I saw something I shouldn't have if this happens
@@star0chris well if thats the case something else broke my questline i couldnt honk the horns anymore even if i desperately wanted to honk the horns and both of the NPCs didnt talk to me anymore no matter how many times i pressed Y, i was devastated :(
Gosh dang the music in the dlc goes so hard! Definitely one of the best they've made if not the best with just the sheer amount of bangers that we got! Although bloodborne dlc... hmmmm. Can't decide they're both too good.
It’s comforting knowing someone as skilled as this is just struggling and frustrated at radahn. Everyone is pissed about that boss lol. I’m still nowhere near killing him after three days on him
I beat Rellana with deflect tear and a katana and it was so fun but so hard, felt like playing sekiro! I plan on using it a lot in my playthrough of the dlc, hope to see challenge runners use it eventually too

1:03:20 - the reaction that got me to subscribe 😂
Hell yea! A new star0chris vid!
Lemme get my popcorn 🍿
So happy Chris finally saw the light.
Sir Ansbach fucking rules.
Ansbach goated fr fr
28:00 he couldn't decide how to beat your ass lmao
Crazy you did this for your first playthrough lol. At the same time though... I felt kinda trapped using my main weapon from base game. Didn't want to respec or get used to new weapons while trying to fight new enemies lol.
Embrace the Milady. It is the way
Same, I only learnt later on that I wasn't even using the best damage type for most bosses.
All I gotta say is this:
CURSE YOU, BAYLE!!!
Cant wait for Chris dubbing Igon :)
This is the content I'm sticking around for
Easily the best UA-camr love your vids man
Thanks :)
I swear you are the second person I have seen find the 3rd finger ruins early, die to the invader and then leave thinking they only had one chance, when it's just night based.
lol yeah I learned that later after the 1st playthrough
Game: Something Happens
Him: OH SH*T
Dude there are so many freaking ways to go to. im so overloaded with ways i could explore that my brain cant handle it xD
Man the amount of emotions at 9:00 is crazy
I can appreciate someone who purposefully makes their gameplay experience more difficult (not summoning/using a high-damage/poise weapon) and doesn’t then complain about it. Actually enjoying the difficulty of the game. It’s really fun to see
1:26:18 "Maybe i should switch to a longer weapon..."
Proceeds to switch to hand to hand combat, the shortest weapon possible.
thanks for uploading this i wasn't able to watch stream bc i was also playing the DLC so it'll be cool to see your first reactions to things :D
your page deserves more attention, love the videos man
The dlc has only been out for what 2+ weeks? (Sure feels like only 2 weeks) And this man is going ham with the challenges.
Keep gaming (and living) you legend!
Very similar to what I've done for my first proper DLC playthrough, though I did make my character RL150 to have more of a fighting chance. But it is a lot of fun trying to only use DLC weapons, talismans, armor etc. to make a cohesive build!
Yeah agreed, I was surprised how many people just used the same old weapons and stuff from base game instead of trying out the new fancy shiny weapons
@@star0chris well if thats the case something else broke my questline i couldnt honk the horns anymore even if i desperately wanted to honk the horns and both of the NPCs didnt talk to me anymore no matter how many times i pressed Y, i was devastated :(
I really liked how the final npc fight felt thematically but goddamn it pissed me the fuck off
Nice concept and video / Playthrough, cheers from Germany
Can't wait for 10x all dlc bosses
36:00 -- bro was MONOLOGUING sheeeesh
Content and editing it top tier, much love
fucking cinema
man radahn was so fun your reactions to the moves are exactly the same as mine
Gosh dang the music in the dlc goes so hard! Definitely one of the best they've made if not the best with just the sheer amount of bangers that we got! Although bloodborne dlc... hmmmm. Can't decide they're both too good.
This is so entertaining man, great content 😊
It’s comforting knowing someone as skilled as this is just struggling and frustrated at radahn. Everyone is pissed about that boss lol. I’m still nowhere near killing him after three days on him
"yeah not that much health on that guy"
2 seconds later - "why doesnt it say enemy felled"
😂😂😂
"About the size of Limegrave " 😏
I never saw Metyr's phase 2 attacks, kinda blitzed her in under two minutes, nice to see them here
This guy goes Rl1 on his first dlc playthrough hahah!
You're insane Chris!
Man I really really enjoyed watching this thank you
going into the menu to check your hp during the bayle fight was diabolical
I beat Rellana with deflect tear and a katana and it was so fun but so hard, felt like playing sekiro! I plan on using it a lot in my playthrough of the dlc, hope to see challenge runners use it eventually too
Yeah it's super cool, and LilAggy is doing a run with it right now, so it will definitely be covered lol
@@star0chris oh nice!!
Against Leda, you can get more of her people on your side if you do their quests.
Also NPC fighter don't know how to react to jump attacks. They will most likely just take the hit.
Ah yes, only the insane ones would go to the dlc with nothing (+ never getting discouraged with that amount of dmg at the start)
Edit:
10:30 A bug, literally and metaphorically
21:10 Realized there is a controller on the bottom left
30:37 Time to get Freaky
37:56 Timer Added
54:51 Cool Bug
58:40 Funny Demon of Hatred Jebait 3-phase
1:01:47 Yep, same reaction with other pro, a boss
1:12:14 Cutscene
1:33:20 'At that moment, the pro have felt fear for the first time' because Torrent exploded
1:54:12 The Melina Treatment
I honestly think the Enir ilim (or whatever) horned warriors are the perfect mob enemies to finish off this dlc
Your reaction to phase 3 of the Sunflower was so relatable lol
Picture this: Miyazaki announces the DLC will be the size of Limgrave. Then he does a little giggle like Star0chris.
The end
1:17:32 A man she didn't even get to use her sickest attack, look for a clip of her black hole attack because it's so sick looking that it's sad that you didn't get to see it.
Yeah I was sad about dealing too much damage that fight, I made sure to not have that much damage for future fights because of that. I have fought her plenty since then though so I'm familiar with all the moves now lol
12 fps on final boss is relatable af
next game i wish there would be more NPC bosses i know how much chris likes them
It's crazy how much I missed on my first playthrough
i’d be interested to know how many times chris died for each boss. great video!
somehow I managed to 2nd try get to the 2nd phase of radahn, then kept getting bullied for 2 hours and managed to kill him. But damn that was the hardest fight in the DLC without a doubt. Commander Gaius is the second hardest for me personally.
This was a great video thank you for making it
That was super fun to watch
Another amazing video! I still don't get how you manage these!
I’m now inspired to jump into dlc on my lvl 45 character just for funsies
Gaius "REAL" remembrance name: Remembrance if the HOG RIIDDDAAA!!!!!!"
he got hit by rellanas backshots of doom
