Joey got home from The Fret Board Summit raving about Adam Levy. It's so cool to see him in this wonderful and beyond tasty company. Thanks for such a great post, Adam!!
Revisiting this gem after @alexfarranguitar posted his solo tutorial yesterday...wowza. What a superb collaboration project. Keep ‘em coming, please!!! 🙏 ❤
I’m trying to find a way of saying something more in depth other than “WOW”…but I’m completely in awe of this whole video!! Definitely 8 exceptionally great players from start to finish!!! Absolutely stunning!! Obsessed with that intro from Alex Farran. Damn… wish I could click the like button more than once!!! Brilliant work!!!
Kudos for getting John Nathan Cordy to play on this. Love his STYLE. Oh, I thought you were going to turn them loose on The End/beatles track. This was a more sedate, backing track. Curious who played which solos on the End, I used to think I knew, but Paul confuses because he could do those aggressive sounds ala, Taxman, and helter Skelter. I remember when Abbey Road came out, I was just floored. George had arguably the best 2 songs on the Album. Amazing is how the beatles put that tri solo together. Of course they were so good at doing the Amazing, or at least what was innovative for the time. That Abbey road, stands up to any of the music in the 70's. And the recording quality of that Album is still up to even the modern day.
Over the last 12 months I have been lucky enough to get to know Alex Farran, not only is he an exceptionally talented player/musician, he's an absolute gentleman Great video Adam, many thanks 👍
Some of these guys, like Alex Farran, and Tim Lerch, and you Adam, have been inspiring me for years. I didn't know Rich Hinman, but I do now... And Jack, he's a new favorite of late. The player missing, for me, is Adrian Woodward (ACPG). Someone mentioned including a bluegrass player for counterpoint. That's a great idea! Thanks everyone!
Fun stuff! All 8 are great players. I was not previously familiar with Jack Ruch, but man, the big guy has got a really nice gentle touch. Of course, I've always loved an SG with P90s! Thanks for doing this, I hope every one had fun!
That was absolutely fantastic.. Every player you chose has reached that place where they have their own voice on the instrument, and it takes a simple progression to a completely other place, hearing each voice speaking.. Thanks for asking John Cordy to be a part of it, I caught the rest of the take he sent you as an intro to one of his daily videos, and I realized, it must have been tough for your to decide which phrases to keep from each of these amazing players! The beginning of John's take was equally tasteful and with a very different tone and feel just from his pickup selection and playing dynamics. I bet this was an embarrassment of riches all around! love your playing Adam!
He is Adam, he rates you so highly and rightly so, I know a lot more about him now, he's a great teacher, The Handsome Band put some fabulous backing to the wonderful Norah Jones....Thanks Adam!
What impressed was how well they all flowed into each other, did you spend a while agonising over what order to put them in or you just placed them in order of whoever sent what? would be fascinating to know the process. Also is interesting to hear how all the players kind of captured that Adam Levy "Vibe", for the track. I guess that would be a question more for each participant than you lol. Anyway, awesome stuff. What are the chords? Can you make the backing track available on a separate video perhaps? I know your very busy,. Cheers!
All of them are amazing. I'm completely incapable of picking a favorite. They all made me do a double take at some point. I will be dissecting these solos for months while pilfering licks.
I remember hearing 'Don't Know Why' on the radio, wow! that voice and the guitar! I'd never heard of Norah Jones then but i got that album straight away, not sure about the time difference but i was trying to learn some gypsy jazz and Nuages is one of my favourite tunes ever, so i turned to youtube for help and found this guy playing it note for note, it was incredible, i remember thinking that Django would be smiling down on him, you couldn't see his face but his name was Alex Farran! Amazing and happy to see these two great musicians are friends.
Adam, this improving concept could help many beginners and better than beginners advance to the next level. Wondering if my little amateur group could get more specific advice on how to dtructure the flow in a live jam circle. looking for ideas on how to signal the improve take, suggestions on were a player could exploit some work in progress skill, how different genres could be used.
A few notes in the right place at the right time with lots of feel and great tone say so much more than shredding 100 high gain notes per second by muscle memory but that is just my humble opinion. I already knew 6 of these guys by enjoying their video's. Now I discovered two others; thanks Adam
I've been hooked on Rich's solo since he first shared it on IG. The melodic ideas/motifs are so perfectly crystal clear & I love all the micro articulation stuff. Also want to second the request to share the backing track if possible!
Great video thanks. Went back and listened to Abbey Road. Yes indeed great guitar parts from the first song onwards the I never "heard" before... now I can pick them out... and really "hear" them.
very well done.. could have watched it for a few weeks... would have been cool as juxtaposition to have a bluegrass flatpicker acoustic Martin stye player thrown in like Troy hensley - anyway great stuff,
Adam, I’ve been listening to Norah Jones for years and am just now finding out it’s you doing the guitar work on so much of her stuff. I’ve always wanted to tell you that I think the solo on “Be Here to Love Me” is one of the most perfect guitar solos I’ve ever heard. Love your feel brother!
I would love to see you get these players back to actually do this to the backing track for the BEATLES 'the END', to see what they would do with it. LOOK OUT FOR THOSE RESULTS. Could it be Done? Paul McCartney is the one that I never realized, he had such modernistic aggressive guitar skills. Certainly never realized it in the 60's I always thought it was mainly George, and kind of thought the aggressive stuff was maybe John when he got inspired, but the ones, like helter skelter, taxman, were PAUL.
Wanna play along? Here's the backing track: ua-cam.com/video/hOiOFf9o364/v-deo.html

Thanks for watching, Wally. I've been raving about Joey since the Summit as well. Such an incredible musician, and a solid dude too.

That! Was a lot of fun!

Some fantastic playing by them all, but Alex Farran is my favorite YT guitarist, super smooth.
No shredders on Adam’s channel 😉 we like that ! 🙏
That smile on Tim Lerch's face at the end of his great solo.........was so perfect.
Jack Ruch's dialed in sublime mastery is mesmerizing

No words, just smiles😊😊😊😊😊

Great video Adam, many thanks 👍
I joined his Patreon mostly because of his cool vibe (and the great lessons of course!)😃

I really enjoyed Jack’s lead and tone, fit perfectly. Everyone did great. Thanks for sharing

That's a lot of good guitar playing in one place. Learning all of these is a master class in itself. What an education!
Adam`s laid-back is amazing!
Fine, fine players ❤ amazing how a player can change the feel so much with tone and touch and melody x
All amazing but damn… Alex Farran ❤
Couldn’t agree more!! ❤
Indeed!

That was great! This is a who’s who of my favorite YT guitarists. What an ensemble! And yeah, everyone brought such a unique voice…very cool.

I really enjoyed the seamless transition between each submission.

very cool Adam!
Such a soulful ending Adam…love it!!!
Delightful and inspiring.
Thank you for that Adam. Loved every second of it!
Cheers, Joel.
This is beautiful ! Peace and Love for All ! 🙏 Namastê !
Love it. Thanks.
Some of my favorite players in this, and now I've got more to add to my fav list! Thanks for this! And you know, that last guy looked a bit like you!
Just a bit ...
Amazing playing and ideas! Thanks for sharing!
This was EXCELLENT
Thanks!
I’ll be keeping this one bookmarked, just beautiful to see these wonderful players using poise and taste, very inspiring! ❤

this was so god damn good, I loved the concept and seeing the different takes playing over the same track by all these heavy hitter guitar players :)
I remember hearing 'Don't Know Why' on the radio, wow! that voice and the guitar! @AlexFarranGuitar is a wonderful man - and a fantastic player.
Liked and subbed Adam 😀
i didn't want that to end !!!
All so great, and some really sweet tones. Favourites for me were John Cordy and Joey Landreth
Tasty solo guys. It was good on my ears and put a smile on my face. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice!
Great music to listen to.
Thank you getlemen :)
Listening to guitar music since the ‘50’s. This is absolutely Fantastic. Holy Moly❤
Thanks!

really nice laid back track, all those solos sounded great! Tim Lerch's part reminded me of Ted Greene, such a nice sound.
Adam, this is soooo good. Loved every pass and now want to add my own.
Way cool Adam! Thanks for the share!
Dang yall!
How creative 👏 extremely entertaining ….. Thanks 🙏
Beautiful idea!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Love the result!!❤ Thanks for sharing!!
Adam first, Tim Lerch, John Cordy
Really enjoyed that sir...that's a format I can dig...as a country player...
I'm glad you dig it.
Wonderful. More! More!
Thanks! I'm already thinking about the next one ...
Groovy stuff
Beautiful music. And GREAT segues!
Thanks!
great talent all around. thanks for sharing with us all.
Love it. So good.

Thanks for tuning in.
Tone taste and touch is not dead!
Thank goodness!
Love this so much!
Thank you, Nancy.

Backing track ... coming soon!
All beautiful
Such good and different concepts and ideas. Thanks Adam and company!💛
Great video thanks. Went back and listened to Abbey Road. Yes indeed great guitar parts from the first song onwards the I never "heard" before... now I can pick them out... and really "hear" them.
You could eat dry toast while listening to Jack Ruch and you’d be fine. So buttery
Yup!
Great! Loved all of them.
Outstanding !
very well done.. could have watched it for a few weeks... would have been cool as juxtaposition to have a bluegrass flatpicker acoustic Martin stye player thrown in like Troy hensley - anyway great stuff,
That's a cool idea. Next time I do one of these, I'll mix in a flatpicker.
Some really wonderful playing! 👍🎸

Sweet.
Somehow I feel you picked these players for character first and chops secondly-it was fun and joyous to watch everyone was great.
That's right.
Great show at 1642 this week, Adam. Come back soon (and bring Rich along)
Will do!
Nice 👍
Nice!! Different, but not so much. All good!
Any guitarist who thinks they have to cram as much into a solo as they can to sound good, needs to watch this video.
I'd say just about any guitarist would benefit from watching this video, regardless of what they think about how to construct a solo!
Awesome, would be fun to see Jim Campilongo and Chris Buck take a crack at that one.
That would be cool!
There’s… there’s something you got 😉 So good 🙏🏻
Ain’t it funny how time slips away … 10:47
Proof that a well constructed melody is always better than a mind numbing shred
Now add Jim Campelongo and Duke Levine😉
Not a bad idea. 😊
I always thought that some of the best Beatles guitar tones were on that album too.
Totally!
@@AdamLevyGuitarTips All y’all are tone monsters too!!
I would love to see you get these players back to actually do this to the backing track for the BEATLES 'the END', to see what they would do with it. LOOK OUT FOR THOSE RESULTS. Could it be Done? Certainly never realized it in the 60's I always thought it was mainly George, and kind of thought the aggressive stuff was maybe John when he got inspired, but the ones, like helter skelter, taxman, were PAUL.
Yeah - Paul!
Rich isn’t allowed to be better at both normal guitar and steel than me! Should be illegal!
Gotta learn that slide thing man. They're doing something else. Saying something more. Seems it forces your melodic awareness.
Adam, Your guitar is louder in the mix than the others.I'll have to give you a -1 for your otherwise soulful performance.
