For the memory of the great David Bowie I was at the same show in 1963 he mentions when I was sixteen which was at Hammersmith Odeon not Brixton and Mick and the boys opened the evening to a rare luke warm reception with their first release 'Come on'. Bo Diddley and the Duchess were there - fantastic - and a great performance by a young and wild Micky Most who played the guitar while rolling on his back. Gene Vincent also made a guest appearance hobbling on after a recent motorbike accident. Little Richard was amazing and danced on the piano ripping off his shirt into throwing it into the audience while singing seemingly unending choruses of a Whole Lot Of Shaking Going On. Absolutely wild performance. The whole audience were standing on those old cinema seats jumping up an down and screaming along - I remember the dust, smoke and sweaty atmosphere and that electric performance never to be forgotten. I love David Bowie. He's sorely missed. My Dad passed away recently at 75, and Bowie was a year younger. I'll bet Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders are rocking out on Mars. Rest In Peace David Robert Jones🙂
Bowie a true British rock 'STAR'. He refused an honor, even Jagger couldn't help stick his nose in the monarchy trough. But David had morals, he was worth what only his peers could give. Praise for his dynamic energy, inventing new characters, ground breaking, ability to see beyond the norm. British inventive brilliance.
Keith Richards did the same as David Bowie. Keith said to Mick something about all those royalty types wanted to do was put us in jail as they looked down their noses at us all the while they were taxing them to death. Keith was pissed at Jagger for accepting his knighthood from the Royals.
DMZABO Well if Keith Richard's did refuse an honor good on him. What happened to being against the establishment, free speech, not accepting gold from the royal coffers? Living or dead John Lydon, Lemmy, The Proclaimers, Bowie, Keith Richards and Lennon will always be rebel's.
As one person said (I forget who) the universe is about 4 billion years old and we were lucky enough to be around when David Bowie was on planet earth. (Or something like that)
The real point is, that every atom in your body is about 4 billion years old. And every of these atoms will still exist in thousands and thousands of years.
Every time Bowie appears before me for some reason, I feel like he's taking a moment from exploring the galaxy to stop in and wish us well... It's bittersweet. He says hello with his cool, syrupy voice. He smiles with his cheshire cat grin, his asymmetrical eyes twinkle... and then he takes off again into the unknown. Fare thee well, traveler. Please pop by, anytime.
Both my heroes Bowie and Parky. They were really special and genuinely gifted personalities. If you’re a Brit, and you couldn’t find something to love or admire about these 2, God help you. RIP to both my childhood idols.
"Little Richard" truly is the mastermind behind rock n roll. He started it all. He influenced : elvis, michael, prince, hendrix, ron isley, james brown, jackie wilson, the beatles, jerry lee, and countless other contemporary and erstwhile artist. " Little Richard " is in fact the man.
I think it's hard to say he was the "mastermind" or even THE "architect" of R'n'R, as Chuck Berry and Elvis were releasing their first hits simultaneously with him. They are certainly the architectural triumvirate of the genre, head-and-shoulders above the others. And if we look closely at them, we'll see these release dates: ELVIS: --"That's All Right" in July-1954; --"Heartbreak Hotel" in Jan-1956; --"Hound Dog" and "Don't Be Cruel" in July-1956; --"Too Much" in Jan-1957; --"All Shook Up" in March-1957 (all of them but the first one reaching #1). The first one never charted, and so the other two pioneers could be placed ahead of Elvis chronologically, but the song not too long after would grow in esteem and significance. CHUCK B.: --"Maybellene" in July-1955; --"Roll Over Beethoven" in May-1956; --"School Day" in Mar-1957; --"Rock and Roll Music" in Sept-1957; --"Sweet Little Sixteen" in Jan-1958; --"Johnny B. Goode" in Mar-1958 (all but the second one in the top ten, three of them in top five). Significantly, it was Chuck's unique sound and style of guitar that quickly became the signature sound of Rock and Roll, I would say. LITTLE RICHARD: --"Tutti Frutti" in Oct-1955; --"Long Tall Sally" in Mar-1956; --"Rip It Up" in June-1956; --"Lucille" in Feb-1957; --"Jenny, Jenny" in June-1957; --"Keep A-Knockin'" in Aug-1957; --"Good Golly, Miss Molly" in Jan-1958 (four of them in top ten).
Just as funny as his impersonations was when he was trying to remember the name of the 1963 concert...where he said he was told the name of the concert because "everybody remembers everything these days." That line kills me, because the now-legendary catch phrase is, "if you remember the '60s, then you weren't there"
It was an off the cuff remark, probably referring to the fact we all have recording devices these days. Stop trying to turn everything he says into some sort of deep meaning.
Was I? Well, I don't think: "I mean, everybody remembers everything these days" qualifies as a remark referring to "recording devices". To say the least. And after watching the Lazarus musical, I am actually convinced that it'd rather have to be you who'd have to stop denying his depth ... but you may well continue to do so.
I think he was lightly referring to his substance abuse resulting in mental disorders, which was really a generation issue - today you get panned for that so you keep clean for the sake AND at the cost of your creativity imo.
Priceless IS the word. My favorite UA-cam clip ever??? I think so.

Lol--I hope Mick's seen this. He must've laughed like hell. Bowie nails it, facial expression and all. RIP.
This is just one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
I love David Bowie. He's sorely missed. My Dad passed away recently at 75, and Bowie was a year younger. I'll bet Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders are rocking out on Mars. Rest In Peace David Robert Jones🙂
The charisma of David Bowie is next level!!!
Abundant Star quality supremely talented David Bowie sorely missed.
I just rewind to the imitation of Mick over and over. Hilarious!
pure charisma. I'm gonna finally listen to some more Bowie music.
For once Tom Hanks wasn't the most famous guy in the room.
taur 611 ...or the most famous gay in the room
Yeah, no one tops Parky.
Tom whooo?
Is he famous?
@@ghophuckurselves3562 he's not a pedo
Bowie was hysterically funny. The mark of a great wit. And a great artist. RIP, man.
Bowie did'nt die...
He was just called home
He was the best. So imaginative. Great songs. And he had a great sense of humour. 💔
That's got to be one of the best short stories in rock and roll history. So sad he's gone now.
God, I miss David Bowie. RIP 🌹
Thank you texters....played it 6 times and couldn't get what Jagger said...
1:18. " what.. and look like you "
I thought it was really obvious, but I live in London
you have to a Brit to understand what he said
@@Schwabian I'm french and one time was enough.
I'm Italian and one time was enough too.
I got it on the 3rd try. Not bad for an American!
Thats actually a brilliantly funny retort by Mick and a perfect impression by David
Bowie was an amazing talent , so sad he’s gone , I miss him 😢
David is the best...I could listen forever to his stories🎸
I never saw it coming thank you David
Yes! It's the perfectly timed Mick reply.
I watch this time and time again and always laugh like I've heard it for the first time R.I.P Ziggy x
Hello Amanda, How are you doing?
Thank you GionoYT. What a world we live in when clips like this are available to us at will.
Smashing lad that David.. badly missed indeed..
great imitation of mick!! David's comedy side is contagious 🤣 😆 😄 😂 😀 😁 🤣

Amen to that!
Keith Richards did the same as David Bowie. Keith said to Mick something about all those royalty types wanted to do was put us in jail as they looked down their noses at us all the while they were taxing them to death. Keith was pissed at Jagger for accepting his knighthood from the Royals.
DMZABO
Well if Keith Richard's did refuse an honor good on him. What happened to being against the establishment, free speech, not accepting gold from the royal coffers? Living or dead John Lydon, Lemmy, The Proclaimers, Bowie, Keith Richards and Lennon will always be rebel's.
Look up the word EGO in the dictionary and you will see Mick Jagger's face next to it.
When did Bowie decline the honour, and what was it? Surely being David Bowie made him more royal than any king.
'What and look like you' Jagger is savage 😂😂😂 Legends never die. Fly high Ziggy Stardust ✨
i think that's the best impression of anyone doing anyone else i have ever listened to on the internet
What a gig! Little Richard, Bo Diddley, the Rolling Stones and even the audience had David Bowie👏👏👏
As one person said (I forget who) the universe is about 4 billion years old and we were lucky enough to be around when David Bowie was on planet earth. (Or something like that)
WE were luckier than any human will ever be..
Breatles, Bowie, Stones, Who..
Two British invasions AND

The universe is about 13 and 1/2 billion years old.
Tony Russell we were lucky to be born in the 20th century despite all its evils
The real point is, that every atom in your body is about 4 billion years old. And every of these atoms will still exist in thousands and thousands of years.
Simon Pegg
That is one hilarious story and imitation of Mick Jagger. Bravo to Mr. Bowie.
he was another musical legend, pure genius
Every time Bowie appears before me for some reason, I feel like he's taking a moment from exploring the galaxy to stop in and wish us well... It's bittersweet. He says hello with his cool, syrupy voice. He smiles with his cheshire cat grin, his asymmetrical eyes twinkle... and then he takes off again into the unknown. Fare thee well, traveler. Please pop by, anytime.
He's in eternal torment in Hell. Nice story thoigh
Nice spelling bro.

Now that is a guy who can tell a good story. No surprises he was such a great songwriter.

Bowie was a master of rock star mystique and yet he was such a personable and regular guy in interviews. I just love him.
What a great story and flawless delivery. The like of David Bowie will not be seen again. Charisma personified and such a gentleman.
So bigger than life. So humble, always a great sense of humor. David you are, and always will be missed.
He was a great impressionist and just the funniest man.
Beautiful man in every way possible. Now with the Star's.
Good night RIP .
Both my heroes Bowie and Parky. They were really special and genuinely gifted personalities. If you’re a Brit, and you couldn’t find something to love or admire about these 2, God help you. RIP to both my childhood idols.
Plenty of people in the UK were indifferent about Parkinson. Absurd comment.
Uh...David Bowie likes to clown around and such an interesting artiste !
Priceless... Absolutely priceless!!! 😂😂😂 Thanks so very much for sharing, you made my day!
I sometimes really miss our man David Bowie, his music and his charm. World aint the same place without him.
From New Zealand - oh darling David, brilliant, so funny!
At times, his big toe would shoot up in his boot.
I think it's hard to say he was the "mastermind" or even THE "architect" of R'n'R, as Chuck Berry and Elvis were releasing their first hits simultaneously with him. They are certainly the architectural triumvirate of the genre, head-and-shoulders above the others.
And if we look closely at them, we'll see these release dates:
ELVIS:
--"That's All Right" in July-1954;
--"Heartbreak Hotel" in Jan-1956;
--"Hound Dog" and "Don't Be Cruel" in July-1956;
--"Too Much" in Jan-1957;
--"All Shook Up" in March-1957 (all of them but the first one reaching #1).
The first one never charted, and so the other two pioneers could be placed ahead of Elvis chronologically, but the song not too long after would grow in esteem and significance.
CHUCK B.:
--"Maybellene" in July-1955;
--"Roll Over Beethoven" in May-1956;
--"School Day" in Mar-1957;
--"Rock and Roll Music" in Sept-1957;
--"Sweet Little Sixteen" in Jan-1958;
--"Johnny B. Goode" in Mar-1958 (all but the second one in the top ten, three of them in top five).
Significantly, it was Chuck's unique sound and style of guitar that quickly became the signature sound of Rock and Roll, I would say.
LITTLE RICHARD:
--"Tutti Frutti" in Oct-1955;
--"Long Tall Sally" in Mar-1956;
--"Rip It Up" in June-1956;
--"Lucille" in Feb-1957;
--"Jenny, Jenny" in June-1957;
--"Keep A-Knockin'" in Aug-1957;
--"Good Golly, Miss Molly" in Jan-1958 (four of them in top ten).
You know this guy is good when Tom Hanks is sitting right beside him and the camera doesn't even film him...
My gosh what a legendary lovely person he was
Damn, he has the GREATEST/BEAUTIFUL hair! Handsome man and love that voice!🧡
Love this 💛 You're missed every day David....
The legend of David Bowie only grows in our tawdry and devitalised age.
TRUTH
What a dismal comment. Bowie was never ever such a pessimist. He was always looking forward, not moaning.
@@mluca1221 That's actually very true.
That is the best and most dismissive impersonation I have ever seen. lmao
Just as funny as his impersonations was when he was trying to remember the name of the 1963 concert...where he said he was told the name of the concert because "everybody remembers everything these days." That line kills me, because the now-legendary catch phrase is, "if you remember the '60s, then you weren't there"
"I mean, everybody remembers everything these days", if you dig this, you understand how deep this man has been.
@@tobiastripler2048 everybody remembers everything these days, because we have the net
Gold ! So funny . God I miss him x
There will never be another. We are lucky to have had him as long as we did.
Bowie was priceless. Sadly...mournfully and sadly missed.
Yes, David is on my "Can't be" list, as in, he can't be gone...
