    I own 4 Wraithlords and 2 Wraithseers. My gf was just asking me why I never play them anymore. Wraithlord needs 5++, BS 3+, and a different special ability. Pretty much any other special ability.

    • @ProxyHammer1
      @ProxyHammer1  2 місяці тому

      I mean it doesn’t need a 5++ a better ability or a 20pt reduction would be enough imho. BS 4+ is a shame but not it’s primary purpose

    Ran a meme Wraithhost list with two WL amd WS, and... well, it was a meme list.
    And the Wraithseer will get Legends when the Eldar Dex comes out, based on Forge World getting removed from the game.

    still gotta build my 3rd wraithlord! i've had such mixed results with them, they are either a bully that my opponent can't deal with AT ALL, or they die immediately lol! but they are gorgeous models so i love to use them either way, i'm hoping the rules update will breathe some new life into them!

    My idea right now for the midfield is a 10 wraithblade + spiritseer unit on the strong flank and a wraithlord (bright lance) holding the weak flank like its a baby avatar of Khaine. Thinking of maybe also a support weapon (d-cannon) to help the wraithblades and hopefully be near enough the wraithlord to be protected or avenged with a heroic intervention. But I also like your idea of shuriken cannons to make it more scrappy. With four guns and two melee profiles I feel like its a good unit for 1000 point games where you want more versatility and its T11 2+ W10 becomes a tougher nut to crack. I got to play mine in a combat patrol and its 4+ ballistic and weapon skill was a huge bummer. They should change its ability to grant more attacks or a bonus to hit under certain circumstances. At least it looks badass. Can't wait to field it in a bigger battle.

      The lord is very good for 1k games and can def sneak in a weak side objective in bigger games as well! I’m s big fan of it even though it’s ability and BS/WS are lacking

    I wish we had other army rule than bootleg faith dice. Also, I have feeling that due to the 10th edition being rushed, some of our weapons lack certain traits(honestly, my personal theory is that GW don't care about Asuryani that much , that they didnt see a problem with devastating wounds + unlimited fate dice use, especially with 75 point platform that annihilates everything)

    • @ProxyHammer1
      @ProxyHammer1  2 місяці тому +1

    Against a dark angel's terminators list today I tried a wraithlord with flamers and two shuriken canons in coordinate attack with a 9 wind riders unit including a farseer and a Vyper.
    The wraithlord was constantly under guide. And it was really good ! I let my opponent take two objectives in the no man's land and strikes back.
    This team destroyed a complete terminator close combat squad that had -1 to damages and halv another one that had a huge FNP. Just the Vyper survived... But the wraithlord made a good job in shooting and close combat. In one shooting the ennemy squad had to make 7 saves !
    The wraithlord works really well with wind riders ! Try it.
    So my wraithlord have flamers, two shuriken canons and the sword of course. I play in a massive space marines meta.

    Spirit seer should have a 6 inch aura +1 to hit for wraith constructs. Leader ability can still be lethal hits.

    I think the wraithlords could definitely be a good play. In msu lists I would absolutely play at least 2 and use them more as a threat overload on a single objective when needed. OR, like you said, they could be the perfect unit to force your opponent to expose their damage dealers in the early turns allowing you to counterpunch with the rest of your army. Wraithlord bait 😅

    I feel like the Avatar of Khaine fills the role of a Wraithlord and more. Whether that's overwatch, dealing with warp talons and heroic interventions, midboard damage output and primary contesting, etc. Of course, the Wraithlord is less than half the cost of the Avatar. BUT I feel like the speed, durability, support from his +1 aura, and damage output is just worth the extra points everytime.

    • @ProxyHammer1
      @ProxyHammer1  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes for the most part I agree but you typically don’t want it babysitting your backline at 335pts. It’s Overwatch is also much easier to get around than the wraithlord despite it being a lot more potent

      @ProxyHammer1 I 100% agree with that sentiment though, it's another reason I'm hyped for the battleline buff. I've found that I've been sometimes forced into using hawks and spiders to screen my DZ which I hate, I always would much rather use them proactively and aggressively. With Guardian defenders and a Farseer on the Home objective it serves alot of purposes.

    Spirit Seer also allows the wraithlord to move through ruins because the unit gains the infantry keyword.
    Wraithlord is very nice in melee in my wraithforce list.

    • @joseforman4513
      @joseforman4513 2 місяці тому +4

      It does not as the movement rules are on a MODEL basis and not on a unit basis.
      And while the unit gets the keyword, the model does not. So in short: the spiritseer can go through ruins, the Wraithlord still can't.
      RUINS MOVEMENT: INFANTRY and BEAST models can move through this terrain feature (walls, floors, ceilings, gantries, chains, etc.) as if it were not there. A model cannot end a move within a wall, a floor, etc.

      @@ProxyHammer1absolutely wish casting mate.
      Movement 8” with zero utility if you advance it. Can’t go thru walls. So stuck to obvious alleyways.
      4+ to hit with anything. You are just math/theory hammering this.
      Also, who ever is going to waste guide, fortune or a overwatch on a frikken Wraithlord?!?
      Starcannons in overwatch, vs light vehicles?! What are you smoking? 4+ to wound or most likely 5+
      If your opponent is dumb enough to get within 6” for a heroic then you can do the same trick with a serpent or a Falcon for same utility and a much much better unit

    • @ProxyHammer1
      @ProxyHammer1  2 місяці тому +1

      @@sirath35 I totally disagree, the light vehicles I'm referring to are things like venoms and stuff with under T8 for starters. anything T8 or above would be considered more of a medium vehicle and would not be one shotted even if you had 2 lances vs 1 and a starcannon. Next, fortune on a wraithlord is rather decent especially at lower points or if your avatar/wraithguard are gone. Probably better guide targets but its not bad if you go for the shuriken cannons.
      Wraithlords also have flamers which are assault, so currently do have utility and are good in overwatch against cheap chaff like mandrakes or enemy swooping hawks.
      If my opponent avoids heroic intervention, then it's a win as by just being there the wraithlords prevented them from going in.
      Oh also because of how fly works many of our units are better off going around ruins than through them anyways so your point about that is pretty silly as well. The avatar of khaine only moves slightly faster and is restricted to the same rules.
      In a MEQ meta the wraithlord looks really good, especially in combat where most marine enemies need 6's to wound and chosen have a lot of trouble against them. Have an open mind and think for yourself it will improve your outlook on the game.
