one weird thing i realized with corsair voidreavers: because of the way the wargear options are worded, if you take a squad of shuriken pistols and power swords, they DON'T get the heavy gunner with the shuriken cannon/wraithcannon. (those guns replace a shuriken rifle, which they don't have.)
on the flip side, for the pistols and swords guys, the regular gunners get to keep their shuriken pistols as well! (because the blaster/shredder only replace the power sword.) this is actually handy because it means they have a sidearm they can use in combat (which the guys with swords are more likely to want to do)
i have a sneaking suspicion that the sword and rifle versions might get split up into 2 different datasheets at some point, because the different loadouts are actually quite different!

@@ProxyHammer1 also weirdly, no! the way it's worded, they ALL have to replace their shuriken pistols and powers swords with the shuriken rifles. so you have to do the squad as either sword/pistols, or rifles. i wish you could mix & match, but this is one of those weird games workshop rules lawyer things haha!

As a new player id be very interested in seeing you do a "Your first 2000pts Pariah Nexus list" video. I have several lists I'm considering but would love to see what you consider auto select or high priority core units.

I don't even understand why Yvraine + Guardians is not standard in every list. I run her with Storm Guardians and 5++, 5+++ is insanely strong. Paired with reviving D3 models per turn the only real danger for that blob is a strong precision attack. Otherwise these badboys and girl managed to tie up anything in battle for several rounds and I think I didn't lose the unit even once.
It’s probably because people take her with Quins 🫤 I still think yvraine and SG are pretty strong though I really like that combo!
@@ProxyHammer1 well yes troupes are stronger than stormguardians but also more expensive. I mean if you put some expensive chars into this, may as well invest into stronger units as well. but it seems that stormguardians work fine as well. never tested them so far, but certainly will. maybe they become the better option with the new mission rules.

You make a good point. Just running around being annoyingly durable and stickying objectives is really good in an army that generally struggles on primary scoring. I think I'll try it out sometime.
With the new Secret Missions you could choose to run her solo and deep strike + fire and fade onto an enemy's homefield objective. This would be good in matchups where primary scoring looks difficult (Orks for example).

for actions warpspiders are still great, the flicker jump counts as a normal move.
Warp Spiders are definitely still fantastic! Probably one of our best objective units now
I usually put 1 unit of defenders in my list. the extra FD generation is very helpfull and the added brightlance is quite helpfull thx to hit/wound reroll unlike with other heavy weapon teams in inf from different factions.
maybe I try out to put yvraine into stormguardians as well and see how it goes. so far I always overlooked SG because it seems odd that they dont just all get powerswords for a melee unit. but it seems that they are able to punch up well if I listen to the guys on the internet. and there are some nice combos to do, I think. like if acompanied by yvraine, you can sacrifice the platform at the right time to cheat +1W per unit since she will resurect d3 models and not d3 wounds each round. also a warlock should be able to combo with a nightspinner to make it extra hard to get a charge in with -4 on the roll and he also comes with an extra flamer. so shooting small and medium unit with them should be very lethal. but it is also 245 points now. so not sure if they can perform at this level.
Ya for sure, I would think of SG less as a melee unit and more of a special weapon unit with extra bodies and utility

Rapid escalation seems cool on corsairs. Just go out and shoot something on objective, preventing your opponent to score on second turn
Well yes but the trick is actually doing enough damage to kill that unit. So probably best to take a 10 man unit!

Yes. Advance and charge should be the Harlequin default ability.

At 100pts Storm Guardians are looking useful (almost said good there!). Voidreavers are annoying in that if you want a heavy weapon you need to take rifles, but the wraithcannon is best suited for an assault squad. They are also too expensive.
Storm guardians are good my friend!! As for the corsairs yes imo they are about 10pts over what they should be but still close enough to be good action monkeys in the early game with scout
@@ProxyHammer1 Scouts is good, as are powerswords, but they're really overcosted. I'd take a unit at 110pts.
