Adjusting the front legs is a disaster. Why does this plastic tongue stick out after adjusting and fastening?

My buddy who works at a rack store says nobody buys this for 2 main reasons:
1. The price is ridiculous
2. There are SO many breakable non quality plastic components on this, it is not durable at all.
