Thanks for the video! There was no info on this awning / setup in our brand new rockwood freedom package or at thule's website. I thought they may have played a joke on us Canadians at the factory by not giving us a manual😂. We did have teenage children with us for assistance, however it required a significant payout with cheetos and pizza. Thanks for the video

GREAT JOB! We wrestled through ours, on our new 1970 ESP, with the Walk-Through employee, at the dealership. He had never done one. Your wonderful demo streamlined it for us. Grateful.
The design of this awning is incomprehensible. Thank you for the video. Even watching the video and with a helper, I still can’t get the thing to work. Forest River also mounted the plastic clips too high on the side, so they could not be fully opened to accept the clip/bracket thing. This has been a terribly frustrating experience. Great video though!
Thanks for this very informative video! This is soooo complicated to install its frustrating. We avoid using it because of its complexity. Wish I had the dometic one :)
For some reason this video doesn't show up on the search, even typed in exactly the way it is. Thanks for sharing, we have the same awning and we were wondering if we were doing it right. I think we do it exactly the same as you including switching sides and minor technical difficulties lol. As you said, practice makes perfect. Happy camping
Great video as we were ready to call it quits and buy the dometic awning. My question for you is, when you installed your door, did the awning create a gap at the top of the door, not allowing you to latch it in place?
We just used our 2023 Rockwood Freedom this weekend as I write this for the first time. It swayed the top of the roof so bad there was a 1.5" gap and couldn't secure the top of the door as well. Did you find a remedy to this issue?
Loved your video. Question… we tend to have to play with raising and lowering the camper to put the door in. What would happen if we did that with the awning already in place? The red taunt code popped out & no longer a good guid. Thanks for any help.
The door/roof height has to be done first! Whether you ou want to drop the awning before raising the roof or use a step stool to get it down is your choice. But door/roof first
For a $25,000 trailer (our just bought) this seems very confusing and rather stupid. Our 99 Coleman tent trailer was soooo much simpler. Over engineered by by AI's and non-camping hicks in my opinion.

I tried to set this up alone at home to practice. I used quite a few cuss words. My right awing pole cam lever was missing so it make it difficult.

Should mention that the levers on the poles LOOK the same but had totally different functions
