I just found this show and it instantly became my favorite. I love Slim Sherman because of his integrity and always being cool under pressure. Great character.
I am a HUGE fan of John Smith. He portrayed on screen, in particular Laramie, very much as he was in real life. So Handsome. A real icon. Left us too soon. He has left a wonderful legacy and I continue to wish him Happy Trails.
I just stumbled on the Laramie episodes recently on a network named Grit TV. They are so good. I can't get enough of these shows. John Smith and Robert Fuller were fantastic. R.I.P. John Smith.
John is right there with Clint Walker and James Arness for being an American western icon. He embodies the rugged cowboy who had integrity, compassion, and personal quality as a man and as a special human being. Laramie was among the best western series ever and it owes that accolade to Mr. John Smith and Mr. Robert Fuller. Men, and actors like them we shall not again have the privilege of watching.
John Smith /Slim Sherman and Robert Fuller /Jess Harper, of Laramie was the best top actors, and the best old movies, are still the best movies for me today. Even if the are reruns, I totally love to watch them over and over again.
@@reneebrown4169, it’s unbelievable, isn’t it?! And, why? Why would he take almost an instant extreme dislike to John? There are so many thoughts out there on this. I’m just sorry that Hathaway’s hateful behavior affected John’s life as it did.
@@Sheryl0705 It really breaks my heart ,to know this evil monster could do this to John! I have talked to a good friend of Johns and he was such a good person. He didn't have a mean bone in his body ! John had so much talent, and no telling what he could have accomplished!
@@reneebrown4169, Hathaway seems like he was such a bitter, vindictive man. All of his successes as a director pale in comparison to what a truly evil person he must really have been. I wonder if John didn’t have a number of very sad and/or difficult moments in his life. But, he was certainly blessed with talent, and, I hope good friends.

I would have loved have been sitting there with them!
one has to wonder why John wasn't a much bigger star.... He seemed like a good guy and actor.
Director Henry Hathaway vowed to destroy John Smith's career!!
And he did destroy John Smith's career!
