I'm an old fart(53) metal player. I really like what this EART company is doing. Making it affordable to have a quality instrument. Some are hit an miss with QC. Sometimes they have flaws that are easily fixable. Some do come out of the box with unfixable flaws or damage. Thats unfortunate. But the majority of these EART guitars are killer for what you spend. I'm super happy that I found another cool guitar channel. Very cool. Love and blessings from Texas. Subscribed 🎸🎶❤☺👍
Eart guitars are dollar for dollar the best guitars on the market with caveats. They make a fantastic neck and the fretwork is insanely good. I have owned 70 guitars or so and every one of them needed a fret leveling and some work to get them to play well, so don't ever expect any guitar under $2000 to be perfect. I'm also going to be honest and tell you that every Eart I own needed a fret leveling to get no buzz 1.5 mm off the low e 12th fret. I do it myself so it doesn't cost me anything but spend the extra money and get it properly leveled and crowned and you have an instrument that rivals almost anything on the market for a fraction of the price.
Im sure there a lot of people that got good ones just like the regular gw2 some got good ones and some got ones with a lot of issues. In the end everything was fixable but for someone without the skill it would cost money to get playable or be a return.
@@SIX1NINEGUITARSANDGEAR Im sure its hit or miss. I may have gotten lucky with both of my Eart guitars. I just ordered an NK 7 string and will see how it goes. If its as good as people say, I might also order a custom Chibson haha
I bought the Eart gw2 standard based mostly on your videos. Ido like that older shape tho. After your bridge video i pulled the trig. Im a mechanical construction dude so I'm not afraid to fixand work on stuff. Love your channel man. Very happy with the purchase, i bought the all black sandblasted one. Im thinking about sanding off black and leaving it in the woodgrain then staining a real dark red or something. I'm just over 2yrs in on learning and I recently now work from home so I play a lot everyday. This guitar is so comfortable for sitting at my desk and just grabbing it constantly while reading specs or plans or whatever.
What gauge string do you prefer on this Eart GW2? Where do you get them, and what model strings are they? I want to buy this guitar and would like a head start on the upgrade of strings.
I’ve been looking at this particular guitar on Amazon, wondering if they’ve fixed the string tensioner issue yet. Good review and your riffs are totally enjoyable.
The new bridge increased the cost (compared to the previous model). I think the barrel -style bridge has some patent, so it renders headless guitars more expensive. But it is a better bridge IMO... The other issues you reported are actually not small for a $420 guitar. I will pass.
Once all the issues were worked out it functions as it should and now that I can play it I do like it more then the old one but still sucked working out the issues hopefully I just got a oddball one
@@SIX1NINEGUITARSANDGEAR Mine was fantastic out of the box, but it definitely seems to be hit or miss with these guitars. I'm glad you were able to get it all fixed though!
Thanks, sub'd and Liked. Waiting for my standard GW2 to arrive. I hope I'm wrong but I wonder if EART is going to a lot of trouble to set up just right the examples they're offering reviewers.
Got one, nice guitar for money, replaced pickups, pots and play much better but bride tuning should have a different gear ratio, it's too sensitive, it's difficult to fine tune,
I like this model more that all the kinks are worked out but I had less issues with the gw2 bridge. But who knows i if got an oddball or not I’ve read other reviews of similar issues but then I’ve seen some good reviews but like i said in the video who know if sone of these guys got guitars sent to them
Your right it shouldn’t hence bringing it up in the video some people can fix these issues and have to pay to do it or return it i have the knowledge to fix it so i kept it.
I'm really interested to hear why you feel a zero fret doesn't last. It allows the open strings to sound like they are fretted but what it's best for is taking the string height in relation to the nut out of the equation with the nut mainly being used to hold the proper spacing. A genius move back in the day to get a better playing instrument in the hands of the buyer and speeding up production as nut work can take a bit of time. I think all production guitars should use a zero fret .
@@Stratisfied22 It's been a bit of a problem for Strandbergs, that the strings cut grooves into it and it make a 'ping' when you bend on the lower frets when it pops in/out. They even have a service page on how to fix it by polishing the fret.
@@Stratisfied22 Strandberg for instance already use a harder density stainless steel fret zero from the other Jescar stainless steel frets. The issue is the constant high tension, a zero fret receives an incredible amount of stress compared to a normal fret.

11:20 You single handedly made them become a better brand because of your flat top screw mod
Good review. I'm surprised they left the body that thick. Many in that style are going for the thin and minimal cut.
Could be my lens for my camera its really not bad at all in person
was about to get the GW2L version which has the same bridge as this, i was confused. because the bridge on the non pro version is so good and simple!
@@ivegyattocomment once you get it set up its not bad if you do get it i would suggest the things i mention in this video
This was incredibly useful. I feel like I dodged a bullet.

I got the purple one and the action isn’t as low for my liking but it played amazing for two shows already but I will revamp the thing (pic-ups es.)

Well when u get payed to review a guitar or get it sent for free alot of guys arnt gonna be honest
I wish they would make a vibrato version
I noticed the strings are resting on the 0 fret instead of sitting making full contact with the nut. Is this normal?
Yes its basically taking an inconsistency’s out of the nut and holds all the strings at the correct height above all the other frets

It's referred to as a " zero fret".
Unfortunately currently not available for Europe, but should be available soon. Greetings from Belgium...

Theres 2 little allen key adjustment screws in the front of each tuner
