Being that it's pride month and I get lots of messages from those of you who are not out of the closet yet, I figured I'd make a video about how you can celebrate pride while still in the closet! I hope you all enjoy this video and if you have any other suggestions, please let me know! Thanks for watching!

It will be three years next month since I came out completely as a lesbian. My close friends and family knew for a long time, but because of the religion I was raised in I had to hide for a long time. My parents scared me back into the closet when I was 17 after my cousin outed me in high school. I'm almost 24 now and I'm currently dating the love of my life.
I'm so happy I survived the worst years of my life.
It'll be okay, everyone! No matter how long it takes to be safe or comfortable to come out, it'll be so amazing and freeing. You can do it and you are not alone!💜🌈

Back in December when I finally came to terms with the fact that I like girls, I made a rainbow bracelet. On June, I finally had the courage to put it on. My first day wearing it was terrifying and liberating at the same time.
Surprisingly, no one asked me about it, and I'm still not comfortable enough to come out. I just try to drop little hints now and then, but as of now no one knows...

Anyways, I am always dropping subtle hints, I bought some rainbow heart stickers and placed them on my wall lol. I’ve even painted some pride flags and put them above my door (where my parents probably won’t see it) Hopefully one day you will have the courage to come out! ❤️ (I especially hope everyone around you accepts you 🥰)

Sending a HUGE _Pride Month_ hug to every one of you out here who's fearful of being rejected by parents and family members. Just remember that you have a massive global family of people who will love and support you whenever the time finally comes to step into the light. I know it sucks having to wait until you have a safe place to go and the means to support yourself...but that freedom is worth all the hard work. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

@@venti7492 I'm not gonna lie, it won't be easy. It's been 16 months since my parents have spoken to me...holidays hurt the most...but I'll never regret living a truthful life. Just make sure to wait until you're safe and able to support yourself. 🤗

Another thing you can do is have your own Pride Celebration with your friends! This is great if you are too young to drive or don’t feel comfortable going to Pride. My friends and I hung out at our local park and brought food for all of us to eat. Then we went over to someone’s house and watched LGBTQ+ movies and UA-camrs. It was great for me because I’m out to my friends, but not to my parents. So I told them that I was hanging out with friends for the day, which isn’t lying to them. I hope this helped someone out!
OMG that's so great. I'd love to do that since I'm out with my friends but not with my family. The only thing is that none of my friends are LGBT
this is actually so considerate and kind of you to make. a lot of creators and lgbt people in general forget about those who are still closeted when it comes to pride month. I've been out since 2017 and love this

My friends mailed me pride flags for this years pride month. My parents found them. i got in trouble, even though I'm outed. I now am trying my best to not break down in tears because it feels like forever to go until I turn 18.

Your parents can fight me. You're more than they could even hope for and if they don't recognize it, it is definitely their loss.

Bish, come live in my homophobic ass country, who doesn't have pride, anything gay is frowned upon, sterotypes are out and about and gay is used as a curse word and then try to come out fast! Yes love Simon yes yes yes my dad wouldn’t let me watch it but finally when my mom and I were visiting my grandparents we found a theater still playing it and I watched it and I loved it and then I watched it on the plane on the way back home and then two other times after that it has helped me so much. The book series is really good, too. Also Carry On is fabulous.
I legit cried about the ferris wheel scene...an about how his family accepted him...it reminded me I wouldn't be that supported or accepted 😩😭😣

it’s been a year since i came out as pan, and my parents got me a rainbow pride flag a week after i came out, then went to a trans parade, it was AMAZING!!
This means so much to people in the closet, I’ve only really just come to the realisation that I’m bisexual and I want to tell my boyfriend of a year and a half but I’m scared he won’t accept me:(
I got some socks with little rainbows on them, and even though no one can see them it makes me really happy to wear them 🏳️🌈

I’ve been like hiding myself away, ever since the year of 1984 and all the way up to this very year now.
But I too also am from the LGBTQ+ Community myself.
Because I’m actually a transgender person too, but I’m kinda like from the MtF.
Even though I’m not really as a male at all, but I’m a lot more as a female than a male.
But I’ve stayed hidden away for that amount of time, because it’s out of fear of being judged by the other people.
And I’m glad that everyone here actually loves me, but um I do have my own UA-cam channel and all.
But I’m still inside the closet still everyone.
Even though I do wanna come straight out fully, but I’m trying to but I’m actually a little bit shy about coming out fully.
But I’m not at all scared to come out, but I’m just only shy about doing it.
But I also feel that nobody wants me to talk about my transgender stuff that I’m going through and gonna be going through.
Because all they want me to do is to just make only the fun vids, even though I like it more when I’m talking about my transgender stuff.

For starters I just wanna say that I don’t really identify myself as a MtF, because that’s just something of what I’m not.
Even though I may look like a male, but I’m not really as a male at all ok.
But I am gonna have my transition at some point in time, even though I may look like I’m a male.
But I’m not really as a male at all ok, but I’m more as a female than a male ok.
But it’s just a starting point for me now ok.
So now I will answer your question ok.
The answer is:
A biological male athlete can’t really identify himself as a female at all, because he wasn’t really born in the TRANSGENDER LIFE at all.
So therefore he can’t really compete against any females, because he wasn’t really born as a transgender person at all.
But if he was actually was born as a transgender person too, then that would be a whole different story.
And that’s it.

When I was younger, I used to talk about having a wife when I was older and having adopted children with her, so everyone knew I was lesbian before I did. My dad didn't know, though, since he was always working trying to support us.
Okay well everyone is writing their LGBTQ+ experience so I can 2!
Okay so when I was small (10 lmao) I had a crush on my best friend Natalie and honestly idk if she liked me back. One day it was my birthday and she kissed me out of no where when I blew the candles off my birthday cake. My parents didn't mind actually. They just started smiling and my mom actually cried and hugged me and said, "I support you" And she started laughing. And after that, me and natalie are still dating after 3 years x3

It only recently came out (and is only showing at 4 U.K. cinemas, which is insane), but it’s about two teenagers, both of whom are incredibly awkward, one of whom is a lesbian. It’s the modern day version of a growing up story, namely it represents the fact that more people are and are open about being lgbtq+. It’s so so good and deserves so much love

Oh, I see! So it’s basically that you are attracted to more genders than bi people and less than pansexual people. Thanks for clearing that up for me. When I heard the word I thought it meant that you can be in love with more than one person at the time.
Why don’t you count trans people as men and women (for example mtf is female)? After they had hormone therapy and maybe even surgery they really look like the gender that they really are. I don’t get why they are being put in a different category.
But yeah, non binarys and intersex people fall somewhere in-between on the gender spectrum.
And I’m sorry if I annoy you, I just want to know how to know when you are poly, I’m not trolling or hating or anything, I’m quite new to all of this and think that I am bi or pan (also closeted since still questioning and not sure) and was wondering if I maybe was poly. In reference to reaching out to people online tumblr and Twitter have been the best for me. Twitter has a massive LGBTQ+ community. There are a bunch of group chats and hashtags and I’ve made a ton of friends there

Well, I am not out to anyone other a few close friends and my girlfriend and I are about ready to hit our 1 year anniversary. So it is possible but I do feel terribly guilty because I don't have the courage to come out officially, but she has assured me that she knows how difficult it is and will be there for me. So, I do plan to come out soon though - just working up the courage lol

If you wanna buy pride merch but cant because of your parents, then I recomend going to Bracelet Library, I havent seen many pride flag colors on their bracelets but they have the inclusive rainbow on a bracelet and the lesbian flag on one, and the best part is, the bracelets dont SAY they are pride bracelets, so you can be a *_international SUPER SPYYY_* ~

I'm quite young and know a lot for my age which is why I still haven't come out. I'm catholic and Mexican which is a bad combo when it comes to being LGBTQ. I'm not sure what my extended family will think when I do eventually come out. I feel good about telling my mom because she has a gay friend but not sure about my dad. This video helped a lot so thank you Heather!
Pro-tip to go to pride if you're closeted: have a trans brother and be an annoying little sister and go with him 😚✌️

I don’t feel ready to come out yet. I mean, most of my friends know that I I’m not straight but I haven’t made it official yet. What’s making me doubt about coming out is that I don’t think I fit into any label. A lot of people (some from the community actually) have told me that I shouldn’t be coming out if I’m not sure what I am which upsets me.
The thing is I think that love has no gender or labels whatsoever. I believe that someday I will find someone (a woman or a man) who makes me feel loved and complete (just like you did)
It has been really hard for me. I actually haven’t been to a pride parade ever.
But I am proud of myself and who I am. I love that people feel more confident saying that they are bisexual or gay or lesbian or pansexual but I think I can’t really put myself into one of them.
At the end of the day... love is love ❤️
it's kinda awful that that even some people of the comunity told you you shouldn't come out if you're not sure of your sexual identity!
if you're confident rn and feel like you want to take the coming out of the closet, i definitely think you should totally do that!
you can also say and explain to people how you feel (how you said: "love has no gender") and tell them you are part of the lgbt comunity but prefer to go labelless, or if that's comfortable with you, queer is a rather general term for being lgbt, but some still consider it a slur, while others have reclaimed it, so you could definitely use queer to describe yourself, but just dont go around calling every lgbt person queer

Soooo I’m pan, I could never tell my family because they all are conservative asses ( I love them and Ik not all conservatives are bigoted)but Ik they would never look at me the same and not like me anymore, They would put up a fake face like they do with everyone and I’ve seen it with my sis who is gay. I told my two older sisters (who have moved out) and my best friend both are super supportive and are the only ones I can tell in my real life. So yeah it’s sad to say I would rather come out to a bunch of internet strangers than my family
I am actually discovering my sexuality, and I’ve been celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride until the first moment I really realized I was LGBTQ+. I am so lucky that my family and friends are so understanding and they will accept me easily but it’s never easy to talk about your sexuality. A way that helps me feel like a part of the community without outing myself is by making tie dye shirts inspired by the Pride Flags.
Happy pride month! I wanted to go to pride in my city this year but my father thought it would be to dangerous for me to attend so my dad and I celebrated with Rainbow cookies all though he thought I just wanted to honor my grandma since she's apart of the community I haven't quiet told him that I'm also queer I'm sure his reaction would be okay but sometimes the way he talks about the community gives me confusing vibes but I am glad he was willing to celebrate though in honor of his mom maybe next year he'll be willing to celebrate in honor of his mom and I.
