This is the best demonstration I’ve seen yet. The small tabs that keep the camera housing are very important to make sure you don’t break them. Get a flashlight and view inside like he said and know which way to push the tabs
Bro we DEFINATELY need the mirror guts video, not just taking the mirror off. I really need it for the 11-16 trucks because my power fold mirrors suck and click and pop like they are off the worm gear, or something is broken. The extend in and out fine, just don't fold. Help me (and a ton of other guys on the forums) out! Thanks for the vidz.

I need to see a video on how to disassemble the mirror section surrounding the mirror folding motors that are inside the section closest to the door on my 2018 Ford F350. Do you have a video that shows that process?
Great information. I can't wait to see how to remove the mirror glass. Because I want to remove my passenger side mirror and have a piece of plain mirror glass cut to replace that dumb convex glass. I want the image to appear as it really is and not closer than it looks. What a stupid idea by auto manufacturers.
@@mattsbrute I guess there are some who do like it but I back up a lot into tight areas around trees and posts and what looks like a foot winds up being an inch. Especially backing up a trailer.
A stone broke my camera cover and did not hurt the camera or any other part of mirror. Had to replace the whole unit since Ford does not sell the small cover. After dealer replaced mirror, I took the old mirror and sold online.
If I replace the mirror, but keep the old camera (ie, swap camera from old to new unit), do I still need to get the mirror calibrated/initialized at the dealer? Or is that only if it's a new camera?
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Ok thanks. I've just seen people on forums talking about replacing gearing, motors and bent stop pins within the mirror, but I haven't actually found anyone who has actually done it... so I didn't know if that was an option
I had Ford replace my cameras due to Recall, now in my driver mirror i hear wind noise and the mirror rattles when you shut the door. I don't want to take it back to Ford but is there anything in there that would be "loose" ???
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod dude, get this, the two bolts exposed were started, and the top one was hitting the A piller making the door shut funny, i got them tight and all is good and door shuts right, but I have a nice 9mm dent and scratch in my a pillers now.
Great video! My driver's side mirror is doing the exact same thing as the one in the video (ie: continues to unfold past the correct extend point). I have never hit anything with it and it has never been extended in the forward direction (2020 F350 with under 12K miles). The dealer is refusing to replace it under warranty - any advice on your part? It looks brand new - don't know why it failed - dealer wants me to pay $1500 plus $160 labor - no way - should be under warranty. Pointed to a TSB that says they won't warranty it.
thank you. it just so happens I need to replace my driver side mirror. An owl flew into it one night!!! of course it broke the bottom plastic which cannot be purchased separately like the top piece
I’m feeling my power mirror is folding slow. My passenger one closes in pretty quick but my drivers one seems like it’s sluggish. (2021 lariat tremor). Is it just me?? Is there 2 motors and one has failed? I don’t know what to make of it. I can pull slightly in on the mirror and it speeds up. Not sure if I’m imagining it. Thoughts Arod?
Is there anything inside the mirror that is serviceable as far as the mechanism for the folding function? I have a '22 SD and the passenger side mirror only fold a little bit and stops. It feels like it is in a bind. Drivers side works fine.
Does anyone know if the Manuel fold mirrors are the same as the powerscope mirror housing instead of replacing the hole mirror by a cheap aftermarket and steal the housing off of????
Hey what area of the country are you located, Iv got a 2017 f250 super duty lariat trim. It’s got the 6.7 Iv got 229k miles all stock besides a lift and bags. Only replaced a hose because of a hole in my turbo hose and a 02 sensor.
Anxiously waited to see how you were going to lock the mirror from folding because it folded backwards all the way. Is that possible? There must be a stop, gear or limit switch inside that's broken. The first casualty of an automatic car wash, unfortunately.
I don't want to seem ungrateful. So thank you very much for making this video. I'm going to like several of your videos as a thank you. But, why didn't you mention the size of the nuts holding the mirror on? You only referred to them as fasteners and mentioned the impact guns size instead. But again thank you for making the video.
