So, you want a pet capybara?

Capybaras have become an overnight sensation on social media and a fast favorite among furry animal lovers, but are they good pets? Despite their easy-going nature, and superficial similarities to other rodents, dogs, etc., our team has found them to be a HUGE responsibility.
Keeping a wild animal like this as a pet involves cleaning, appropriate enclosure as well as concerns surrounding their destructive capabilities and access to an exotic veterinarian.
Ultimately, we would not recommend a capybara as a pet - even to those who live in states where unpermitted ownership is legal. But there is no need to worry, you can always visit our capybaras while taking a private tour!
