A comment on the "voided warrenty scare message". My rjettek kit has at least 15 refills and cost $60. A full HP refill kit is ~$50 and the printer cost was $200. So the cost savings = 15 x HP cost ($50) - voided warranty($200) - rjettek kit cost ($60) = $490 in savings in one kit. I need to use 5 refills to basically recoup the costs of the kit plus the voided warranty. This is a no brainer for me. Thanks for the excellent product RJetTek.
This is a great video for learning how to fill these cartridges. I received enough ink in the kit to fill several cartridges. I found the information on the chip - leap frogging - and other tips very useful. Thanks.

The kit comes with the fill amounts for the cartridges.
The chip is not resettable, so the printer will pop up dialogue boxes after refilling, saying that the cartridge is empty etc. You can just ignore these messages. When the cartridge runs out of ink the printer will not allow you to continue printing until you replace the cartridge with a full one. So, in answer to your question, No you will not need anything additional.
Yes, you should be able to do that. It will give an error saying the cartridge is used or depleted, then remove the setup cartridge and install the refilled one. Some printers do have different firmware, so I can not guarantee it will work. It does work on our 8600 here in the office.
Justin, I checked out printerfillingstation's instructions. I see what you are talking about as far as them saying that it is defaulted to ON. That is on the printer itself and IS defaulted to ON. The software that comes with the printer also has an option to Secure the cartridges for that printer only. This is what I was referring to. I have not had any problems switching cartridges between printers with the usage information turned on. Just don't turn on the Protection Feature!
Martin, Hello! You must have an older version of the kit instructions. Punching the holes in the sides of the Orange Needle tip is the best way. You can download a newer version of the instructions on our website. Punch the holes, one in each side about 2-3mm from the tip. Have a good day!

Depending on the cartridge, up to 8 times. Each cartridge holds different amounts. The cartridge that holds the most is the 950XL which holds 80ml of ink. In this case it would refill it 5 times. Other cartridges hold less ink, so up to 10 times on some!
The process we use does not require the removal of the ball plug, which is easier and no replacement parts to buy. We have never had any issues with this process as far as air bubbles or poor print quality. The only thing is that 2 sets of cartridges must be leap-frogged to fool the printer into accepting the refills.

We have tested this kit extensively, and have had 0 problems with our printers after refilling. The inks that are included in the kit are OCP inks from Germany. They meet and in some cases exceed the original OEM inks! I use this kit to refill my personal printer at the office. It is also a HP 8600, and I have refilled my cartridges dozens of times with excellent results. Keep in mind that you must have 2 sets of cartridges to switch out when refilling. Justin, Where did you get that quote from? HP does have an option in the printer setup which allows you to secure the cartridges for a single printer, but it must be turned on by the user. As long as the same cartridges are not refilled and returned to the printer they work fine. Please let us know where you received that information from. Thanks!

What's the cost and page yield of this kit? It could have a crazy low cost per page.
I know the 950XL cartridge alerady costs about 1.6 cents per page, which is super low (better than some lasers), so I'm curious what this refill does for that.
In some cases yes. It depends on the firmware your printer has installed.
Even if the printer will not accept the refilled setup cartridges, it will fool the printer into accepting the set of cartridges you just bought once you refill them.

Hi Rjettek, is the refilled ink stored in the air bladder? If not, what is the purpose of the air bladder and the access hole on the side of the cartridge? Also can i get replacement cartridges with foam inside instead of the air bladder? Thank You
daintree98: The air bladders are used to hold the ink inside the cartridge so that it does not flood the printhead. They are not used to hold ink, they hold air, that is pull in through the access hole. The area that holds the ink is just an empty chamber and would not work with foam. The refill kit works wonderful and is easy to use. We sell many and everyone loves it!
Does anybody else find it hilarious that these guys have designed a system, showed you exactly how to SIMPLY use in it (in 5 minutes and 9 seconds I might add); and yet people writing in asking is it better if I do it this way or that way. For example, "Can I get a better prospective, thus more ink in the cartridge, if I make sure my bladder is about to bust (this should insure i proceed as expeditiously as possible), have an assistant tie my hands behind my back, stand on my head, close my left eye, have said assistant fill the syringe and place it in my mouth, hold the syringe between my teeth and push the plunger with my tongue?"

How do I know how much ink to use to fill a 932XL cartridge? Also, I have a Officejet 6600 w/LCD screen. The final steps you demonstrated to insert cartridge into printer, does that reprogram the chip? Or do I need to do something additional?
Daimyo, You can not use setup cartridges to refill. You must use regular cartridges and leapfrog them as in the instructions. The setup cartridges will not work after they are depleted the first time, and will always show empty. You will have to use regular cartridges. Call with any other questions. 1-800-688-0129.

Me again... I only received one syringe in the kit to refill all cartridges and the area which you show on this video to suck out the air, it closed on mine. Do I need to drill a hole in order to do that? I also got two sets of plugs, but I have no idea which hole it plugs.

Luis, NO do not open the cartridges, refill them as shown on the video, through the exit port.
Is there a way to reset the depleted cartridge warning and reset the ink levels. It will not let me print even though the carts have been refilled. All the levels are still showing low and the yellow shows depleted.

My original setup cartridges are empty .I have purchased a new set of 4 cartridges . 932xl and 3- 933 color . Can I refill the setup cartridges ( the original cartridges) and install them back when the set that I have purchased is empty ?
Jeremy, In certain cases, with certain printers, you CAN use the setup cartridges. Mainly you would want to use these to fool the printer into taking your set of Non-setup refills. In other words, you can use these to leapfrog the cartridges so the printer will accept your most recent set of refilled cartridges. Any other questions? Call us 1-800-688-0129.

I am from Trinidad and I purchased the photobrite refill kit, but on the instructions, I am not seeing my cartridge listed (hp 933XL). The kit indicated that it refills ALL hp cartridges....So here I am, stuck with a kit, that I don't know how to use and not finding any information at all online about using it.

Approximately how many refills does the 5000SK kit cover?
In terms of remanufacturing these cartridges for the non-original user will this way of swapping out cartridges get around the fact that HP tags the cartridges to only work in the original printer?

No, it is not necessary. Just follow the instructions and it will work as shown.

Chip, you may have damaged the o-ring on the exit port. take a look and see if it is leaking ink when you hold it with the exit port down. It could be that the ball plug on the inside is not seating against the o-ring. If you are still having problems call 1-800-688-0129 extension 116 and we can talk.
