Here me out: Give the Breath incantation to another Crucible Knight, and have Tanith's Knight reward you with a Spirit Summon version of himself. And have the item description imply that he has no disdain for you (for defeating him), because he will gladly accept you as his Tanith replacement if it means he can continue fighting the Golden Order.
Getting a Crucible Knight as a spirit ash would be so OP that he could rival the silver tear for the top spot of best ash, and I would be okay with that.
Honestly now that I think about it, the very idea of a crucible knight going so far as to join the volcano manor is a concept that has some serious main character energy.
In my headcanon the Crucible Knight in the Evergaol and the one in Stormveil both defected to Godrick's side during the Shattering. But the one in the Evergaol was so fed up with Godrick that he tried to leave and got locked up.
100% true imo. Every single other evergaol boss is either confirmed or implied to have been a traitor, banished or something along that line. I just wish there was lore about what he attempted to warrent the only one being locked up.
Fun Fact: Zullie the Witch detamined a cut questline in which you would hunt down Ordovis for betraying the Golden Order. Zullie speculated that Ordovis was supposed to be Tanith’s Knight, which makes what Ordovis is in the final game that much more depressing.
Fun fact about the Farum Azula Crucible Knights: I don't know how coding works, but somehow because of the way they're set up to fight the Beastmen there, these specific Knights are also set up to fight Invaders. This also means Invaders can kill them if they want. I found this out randomly while invading, and it's unbelievably interesting to me.
@@thediabolicalraisin8953 I'd love to hear about any other enemies if any exist. It's fascinating! The first time I fought it I remembered their flying lunge attack and looked at the windows and was like "There's no way this works" and purposefully baited him off the edge. Especially given how some knights like the Nokron Belfry knight have invisible walls to avoid this exactly thing, it's incredibly satisfying to throw this guy off the ledge through a window. It was such memorable moment for me and now every time I'm going towards those damn Gargoyles I at least get excited that I can bully that one knight off the ledge first
It feels like a purposeful FromSoft comedy moment. You know, like the screaming kite ninjas in Sekiro or that one recurring troll invader in DS2, only for once it works in our favour.
At the end of the year, you should do a ranking of every ranking, and then in ten years you can do a ranking of every year, and then when you retire, you can do a ranking of every ranking you've ever done.
The Crucible Knight from the duo fight in Castle Redmane would've been the coolest boss entrance in the game if it wasn't hard to get more than a glimpse of him flying in because of the misbegotten you're busy with. Such a missed opportunity, plus would've been a good opportunity to make it a proper boss gauntlet instead of a mostly-awkward duo fight.
Ok but dragon breath incantations have the downside of TAKING UP 99 percent of your damn screenspace (unless you’re doing the magma breath glitch that gives you the forbidden sun-esque cast animation)
I agree with number 1 very adamantly for the sole reason I found out he was fightable the hard way. This dude scared the crap out of me after I went, "Hmmm, what happens if I kill Tanith?"
They're one of the most fair yet brutal fights when you first encounter them. I actually enjoyed learning how to beat the Evergaol one by getting rekt a good dozen times.
I've always grouped the knights into 1 of 3 categories. 1: Type A - Sword with Tail 2: Type B - Sword with Fire 3: Type C - Spear I have legit made 35 character across 4 profiles and have never seen a Type A breath fire or a Type B sprout a tail it's very much one or the other. Type A being the most difficult with the tail shutting down their openings and screwing with my timings and all that, even now they often clip me with it. Type B is just kinda whatever the fire breath is plenty telegraphed to avoid, I kinda hate how in blows you over onto your ass but I hate when anything does that, I don't like having control taken from me, so it's not a direct complaint against the knight specifically (way too many "oops you're on your ass now" attacks in this game man).

And then Devonia cleared all of them by having her own helmet, weapon and moveset, being the only one of her kind, and even showing off a unique Crucible spell we have never seen before.
Stormhill Crucible Knight was one of my first walls in this game. I had leveled like 4 times, I played through DS3 and thought I was hot shit (I wasnt), and I proceeded to lose for like 4 hours to this boss dealing nearly no damage and taking way too much, with only 4 heals. But this made their moveset ingrain into my head that now I cant help but love a fight against Crucible Knights now. Such a fun fight, feeling like an honorable standoff between 2 knights, like fighting a Darknut in The Legend of Zelda. Learning the intricacies of what's punishable and what isnt was a trial at first but in retrospect taught me how to approach bosses from then on.

Just by looking at the thumbnail, I got an idea for the dlc. A crucible knight summons, but to make it not overly powerful, it would take a 1000+ hp to summon it.
To be me: ALL crucible knights are good! Heck I even did a cosplay one as them during my second play though! Can’t wait for the new incantation in the dlc
The fact that every time you get invaded in the whole end up with you fighting a player model (yes, the sanguine noble in the snowfield is an player model, he has 2 reduvias) and then you slap tanith and you get invaded by an actual boss only happens once makes me kinda sad because of just how hilarious it is on a first encounter.
The Rampart Tower Crucible Knight is actually one that stands out to me because of some cheese I stumbled upon during my first encounter with it. I ran past the thing like a coward and took a moment to breathe when I reached the lift, only for the knight to catch up. What followed was a bout of panic rolling that resulted in the lift going up without me, and the knight taking a ride. I thought, "Well, bye now." Then I had a good laugh when seconds later, I saw the knight fall to its death.
He has to. He will make a "DLC weapons tier list" and then a new ranking for all the weapons after the final patch of the game. Then, he will ascend to a higher plane of existence were he will be able to see the true ranking of all things that exist in the universe.
I actually think the 16 Crucible Knight detail is still valid and has important lore implications. Let me just establish some facts real quick taken from the lore. 1. Godfrey's symbol is the axe 2. There are 16 Crucible knights in the game. 10 wield swords. 6 wield spears. 3. The Crucible existed before Godfrey. Now, let's look at the roundtable of the roundtable hold. Embedded in it are 10 swords and one axe. I believe that Siluria's Armor is what the original Crucible Set looked. I think Ordovis and his 9 followers swore an oath to Godfrey at the roundtable when he became Elden Lord and changed their armor to suit that role. This is why their helmets are axe-shaped. The symbol of Godfrey. Siluria and her 5 followers may have been less enthusiastic about this change in leadership and chose to keep their armor as is, in reverance of the crucible itself instead of to a lord.

Just want to say: I appreciate the summary at the end listing your rankings. It's not exactly easy to remember how you ranked everything after a video the length of a nature documentary, so any assistance we can get is helpful. Great video as always.
Crucible Knights are elite soldiers. Uniformity is quite prevalent in military units, so I get why so many of them are similar. Not dissimilar to the Black or Silver Knights, Haligtree Knights etc. who come is select variations.
During my playthrough so I can get a non-NG character in the DLC. I went full-on crucible knight in my build, I hate to encounter them, so why not become one... I don't regret that choice. Now I love them. (and with a mimic tear, you got yourself a duo..) The shadow of the Erdtree will feel the wrath of what were before it.
While fighting both of them is absolute CBT, there's something really wholesome about the fact that one of Ordovis's soldiers was so loyal to him that he chose to also help guard the grave along with his commander.
It's been a long time since I actually laughed for real at someone dry humor. That fighting in a studio apartment and fridge shit actually got me. I'm subbin
Can say for sure that the Erd Tree Sanctuary knight successfully impaled me and threw me off the railing. Was one of my favorite moments ever fighting a crucible knight.
Another thing that boosts tanith's knight is that you see him just chilling when you first see him, and then when you attack her, he finally kicks into action
I concur with this list except i think Ordovis shouldve been 3rd. But yah, the Stormhill one was such a challenge on my first playthru, then seeing these guys throughout the world always sent chills down my spine. But the one at Taniths side was the one that surprised me the most when i first saw him but didnt realize til this video that he was indeed the only one that went against the Erdtree. Thanks for that 👍!
What I really appreciate about the Crucible Knights is how they communicate to the player how strong they've become. That Crucible Knight in the Evergaol will have players struggling, but eventually, they're on the same level as normal enemies.
I would also like to see more boss ranking videos. I always learn new things from your work, and the fast paced, unpredictable verbiage makes for frequent rewatches.
The crucible knight in the evergoal and the one in stormveil castle gave me so much trouble on my first playthrough that I made sure to be stacked and had all their moves memorized for any crucible knight I saw later and would kill them with heaviest weapon and with spirit ashes with no shame, I tried to experiment with different weapons and use no summons for most bosses to make game a little more fun and challenging but not for them

Rusty please to a play through with only using the worst item in every tier list you’ve made. (Worst staff, worst incantation, worst dagger, etc)
8:35 how does rusty sidestep? Seeing how quickstep isn't equipped. Looks way better than rolling so I need it xD
Can say for sure that the Erd Tree Sanctuary knight successfully impaled me and threw me off the railing. Was one of my favorite moments ever fighting a crucible knight.
Trusty Rusty always ready to remind me that i only found 98 percent if elden secrets.
If rusty made a 7 hour long video where he ranks every single rock in elden ring I would unironically watch the whole thing from start to finish
Every Tree, Bush and Grass ranked, thanks buddy 👍
I feel bad for Rusty when SotE comes out specifically because he'll be asked for more ranking videos
They really should’ve just put Siluria and Ordovis together for that duo boss.
Bros gonna finish with every single mini boss and healthbar boss
7:54 unintentionally guessing thrusting shields for the DLC lol
RISK OF RAIN MENTIONED AT 16:10. WE NEED ROR2 VIDEOS NOW
The crucible knight in the evergoal and the one in stormveil castle gave me so much trouble on my first playthrough that I made sure to be stacked and had all their moves memorized for any crucible knight I saw later and would kill them with heaviest weapon and with spirit ashes with no shame, I tried to experiment with different weapons and use no summons for most bosses to make game a little more fun and challenging but not for them
Im assuming the amount of times i watch Rusty's videos.....means theyre my comfort videos
Hey Rusty, have you thought of making a DLC ranking video?
The way you described #1. I felt that, well said.
i hadn’t even considered tanith’s knights lore, definitive goat of all crucible knights.
i just loved that pose, the gigachad bodyguard.
This is an incredibly terapeutic video for Rusty, definitely let out a lot of past frustrations in that script
Wow, I couldn't even fathom this would ever be a video. Impressed truly. Have a like and a sub.
I swear he will rank all the boulders in Elden Ring first, before he does his own Spell Mod ranking
7:46 Crusible knight: watch how goddam big I can make this number. *tries so hard that he explodes*
Fun fact: Tanith's knight was originally supposed to be Ordovis himself. Even had a scrapped questline where an npc wanted revenge on Ordovis.
I love the waterfall knight just because crucible horn can just shove him right off the edge, its hilarious
0:25 titanium banana has me cracking up
Sponsorships for games that I love? I was legitimately happy to see that
I can't wait for the "rating all my ratings videos" video.
