Yes I was disappointed when I saw him in a crappy Ford I'd rather have that $200,000 Aston Martin he's driving later on by the way did anybody ever take a look at the documentaries of dr. Steven Greer he just did an interview with Danica Patrick
Fun fact: The parkour actor at the beginning of the movie is Sébastien Foucan, one of two people credited with actually INVENTING parkour. So yeah, he’s pretty good at it.
Daniel Craig is defiantly gonna be missed in the role. He has in my opinion been the best Bond in the entire franchise. Casino Royale is the greatest Bond Movie in the franchise to me and Eva Green is the best Bond Girl. Absolutely love this movie.
I totally agree. I don’t know how many times I already watched “Casino Royale” and I’m still enjoying the movie as much if not even more than the first time. Daniel Craig has won over the cruel Press he got after EON’s announcement he’d be the next Bond. He had those eat crow as he proved to be indeed the best Bond’s embodiment of Fleming’s true character (I read all his novels in my teens) of the whole franchise. All the efforts he put to build up muscles so he can be in top shape when shooting the movie served him well. It proves the strength of the man’s true nature.
Skyfall us the best for me but yes, Craig is the GOAT. Plus he's my generation's Bond. This came out when I was 7 and the new just came out, now I'm 22 and he's wrapped up his tenure.
The Queen of England attended the London premier of this movie. People in the audience turned and look at her during the ball buster scene. Her Majesty remained as stoic as ever. I wonder if she ever asked Craig about that scene when they did the 2012 London Olympics opening scene together.
I saw Casino Royale for the first time in the theaters at a midnight screening back in 2006 as a 16 year old high school student and it's still one of the best experiences i've had in a theater. The second Daniel Craig said "The name is Bond: James Bond" the entire theater bursted out in cheers and applause.
I went with my parents. One of the worst experiences ever. "When's it gonna end?" I practically had to see the end scene with fraction of my eye while walking off the theater.
Bond is meant to be cleaning her hand of the blood which she says 'wont wash off'. Its a Macbeth reference. At the end of the film in the elevator Vesper kisses his hands to let him know he isnt responsible for her death
The shower scene was completely improvised. The script said that Vesper undressed to go in the shower, Daniel changed the script into this. I think it was a really great change to let her sit in clothes in the shower maybe the finger sucking was a bit much, but I didn't mind it. I really love all the movies with him and how he changed the image of Bond and the Bond Girls. With him you get to see more emotions and more stronger females beside him. Ohh hell nah, we doing this boy's tell me we're doing the Daniel Craig bond films.. I love how they build up in each film the interconnected storylines, the cinematography in these films are top-tier!! This is a welcomed surprise🍻
When I first saw this film my reaction was “Finally! Someone has made the Bond film I’ve been waiting for”. There was a lot of ridiculous backlash when Craig was first announced due to some people thinking that you couldn’t have a blonde Bond. That stopped when the film was released and now Craig is universally acknowledged as a great Bond. The thing I love about the film is how faithful it is to Fleming’s original book. Yes, there are some differences, but they are minor and have no real bearing on the plot: the book is set in France, not Montenegro and Venice; the game is baccarat not poker; Le Chiffre is a moneyman for the KGB not some unnamed criminal organization; Mathis is a French policeman who becomes a friend of Bond and does not betray him; Le Chiffre uses a cane instead of a knotted rope for the torture scene. Other than these minor details, this is probably the closest adaptation of ant of the original books. I love this film.
This is easily my favourite Bond movie.A friend complained after watching it the first time that “he wasn’t Bond”. I told him, that’s the point. This is how he gets there.
When I saw the movie and saw Bond driving a Ford I laughed. Not only because it was funny but also because it is realistic. He just got promoted to 00 status. He’s not “James Bond” yet. He’s just getting started so it was fitting.
That's a good point, never thought of that. He does eventually get "promoted" to the Aston Martin DB9 later in the film which is a sweet ride until Bond rolls it (I still can't watch that scene with both eyes open) and completely destroys that beautiful set of wheels.
I like a lot of the Bond movies but I will stop whatever I'm doing if I run across Casino Royale on television. I saw this with two female friends and I was extremely surprised they loved this movie as much as I did. It was a pleasure watching your reaction.
OMG NOW I'm subbing. Daniel Craig and this last series are my absolute favorite of all. The last one broke me because I knew what was happening by all the visual clues. I can't wait to watch this playlist! 😻
We just wondered whether it was a great joke, Bond‘s immeasurable toughness or they just forgot WHAT got hurt, when he - still in recovery for only this one specific part of his body - immediately had Vesper bump into his groin area/slept with her. I’m pretty sure it’s the former two.
The Bond score in this movie (Chris Cornel) is perfect. Rock hard and lyrics spot on describing the Bond character: "the coldest blood runs in my vein - you know my name".
27:20 She had her boyfriend kidnapped, they forced her to send the money from the earnings to a different account (kidnappers) than the Treasury, she did it but asked not to kill James because now she had fallen in love with him, surely they asked for her life in return, and she did. She died for him. Watch Quantum of Solace (2008) to understand who is her boyfriend. I don´t want to spoil it. Great reaction, first time in your channel, new subscriber.
Doubt they asked for her life in return, but it was probably 50-50 the deal would end with a shot in the back of the head. If Bond didn't track her down they could have been happily ever after.
Great reaction. I loved this film when I saw it on opening and it remains my favourite Bond film. I love Daniel Craig making Bond a character with more emotional depth. The old ones were fun but this film made me actually care about the character.
Skyfall was my introduction to James Bond, but this movie is hands down my favourite in the franchise. I just love the whole "get fucked" attitude the movie has towards being a James Bond movie, while at the same time gradually setting up and establishing the James Bond character that everybody knows by the end of the movie. Couple that with the best poker scene in any movie I know. I can't fault this movie. When people ask me what my favourite movie is, it always changes depending on the day. But this one is definitely on that shortlist for me.
I read Fleming's book Casino Royale. The rope torture is right from the book. And "the bitch is dead" is right from the book. But Vesper takes her life with pills. She was much more fragile at the end of the book.
@@BaddMedicine Oh yeah. And Nolan had been pitching himself to direct one for ages noe. Not sure if he'll do another espionage movie since he got his dream fullfilled through Tenet. I just love how M basically ignored Bonds letter like a mother would a child, “we’ll talk about that later” 😂 so cold, I’m sure she was also thinking something like “wait till you hear the news I got for you” 😂😂 gotta love Mum.
Best Bond movie ever (I have seen all multiple times). Trivia fact: Both Le Cifre (Mads Mikkelsen) and Mr. White (Jepser Christensen) are danish actors - doing both stage theater work and movies.
I like Daniel Craig’s portrayal of Bond the most; as he gives it a modern gritty twist on the franchise; Daniel’s Bond isn’t as smooth / classy of a character as Sean Connery’s but he can still pull it off. I have also seen No Time to Die and I’ll say that you defo want to watch Daniel’s other Bond movies as there’s a LOT of references from them. For the next Bond, I’d also like to see Tom Hardy or even Henry Cavill take on the role.
I love that they mention his background being ex SAS. Especially as SAS get training from spies from MI5 and MI6 in intelligence gathering and how to do things like construct a crude sat phone for when operating in deep cover, much in the way Bond does. So it makes sense that recruiting from the SAS would be a thing. It also makes sense that he is such a heavy handed kind of operative when it comes to getting things done. Why do around a wall if you know you can go through it for example when chasing the bomb maker. XD
oh hey! always great to see reactions for Daniel Craig's Bond films!!! hope you guys have fun with this series of films! it's definitely one of my favorites! Craig is my second most favorite Bond actor on the rankings, though Casino Royale is definitely in my top 5 of Bond films :)
I grew up watching Bond movies with my Dad, my favourite films are Goldeneye & Casino Royale, the torture scene & the poker game is genius & well done, enjoyed all your reactions here, Dave "I hope nothing bad happens to her" I'm like "oooof Dave's in for a time later" great stuff guys! 😊👍
EVA GREEN!!! If you really want to see her stretch her acting chops, watch “PENNY DREADFUL”! She was nominated for an Emmy and man she tore that role UP!!!
Ive only ever seen the Daniel Craig film but my late grandfather loved the older movies. I absolutely love CR probably my favorite of the Craig series so far but I think theyre all fantastic
Loved your reaction ^^ By the way, the guy who did parkour is actually one of the inventor of this sport (Sebastien Foucan). And about the weird thing about Vesper's fingers in the shower, I'll say Sean Connery did a lot more of weird things with women XD And also, do you guys think you could react to other james bond era ? Like the ones with Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, etc ...
Thanks guys, loved it. I personally think old Bond movies were quite overestimated. From today's perspective I would not even give to old Bond films 2 from 5. Sorry, grandmas if you loved hairy, softi man who would slap on your behind and sending you to the kitchen.
Fun fact1: Casino Royale was the first James Bond book. Fun fact2: The torture scene with the chair was taken from the book. Fun fact3: The Aston Martin barrel roll made it into the Guinness Book of World Records.
At 13:32, the script read that Vesper was just sitting under the shower naked just shivering or something. But Daniel Craig objected that, he said if she was so shocked and aghast, she wouldn't bother to take her clothes of so they changed the scene.
this movie still holds up. absolutely fantastic choice picking daniel craig to play bond. cant wait to see the following reactions to these bond films. im particularly looking forward to 'Skyfall' reaction.
@CEO of Secularism I agree, but in that case, being surprised that it looks modern doesn't make sense : same comment I made to 4ortytoon, it's not like the movie was made in the 1930's! Come on, guys, it's 2006! Are you all in your teens or something? :D
When Bond started laughing during the torture scene it reminded me of the Joker during the Dark Knight interrogation scene... To have someone laugh in your face, Muhammed Ali style, while you're giving them everything you've got must be seriously demoralising.
No Time to Die, a rollercoaster ? The second half was a snoozefest, the antagonist was the weakest of the saga since the Brosnan era next to the dude in The World is Not Enough, the wokeness was annoying, and the ending was a farce.
When they cast Craig I remember going, "what the hell? HIM?!" But within 10 minutes of the movie starting I was so completely sold on him. He OWNED that role better than any. And I grew up on Bond with my Dad. Seen em and love em all, but Craig just really took this role to heart.
Apparently he was offered the job after someone saw him in the movie 'Layer Cake' even though the role was a million miles from a James Bond type character but its a brilliant movie.
This is Bond for me. I didn't grow up with Bond (my dad was a fan and from the era of Connery being out in theatres as a kid/teen. I remember it on quite often as a kid but I never sat down and watched it with him. I caught onto the end of the Brosnon era with the final two being run endlessly on Spike TV and USA, but I really wasn't hooked until a year or two later when I fully matured movie wise), so this came out right in the intended demo wheelhouse of like 13. Craig is Bond for me. All of them I've since understood/liked, they're all different takes/eras of a character. I'm most familiar with Connery, but his are like my John Wayne Westerns or old horror/sci fi were you have to go into it with a very specific frame of mind to enjoy it whereas Craig is built for modern (from probably 1980-90 or so to eternity) audiences. He was just a good action hero/actor who got the bones of Bond and played to them. I have them ranked together as pairs with Casino and Skyfall as my two favorites. Overall this was the best movie, but Javier Barden's performance is one of my favorite roles any actor has ever performed.
Ive lived through the whole of the Bond franchise, seen every one of them in the on the big screen. But for me the Daniel Craigs Bond is for me the best. Ive seen this film dozens of times and still love it. Closely followed by Skyfall! Ive seen most of the reviews f this movie on UA-cam, but you guys was the most fun. Cant wait to watch you review the other James Bonds outings! Incidentally, the Aston Martin roly-poly, was, at the time a world record for rolling a car! It rotated 7 times. And was (don’t know if it still is) in the Guinness Book of Records!
@@BaddMedicine somewhere on UA-cam there is a behind the scenes video of Casino Royale where they show footage of the filming of the spectacular set piece sequences. The sequence at Miami airport features heavily, but there is also footage of that epic car roll! Incidentally, one of you said you’d love to drive the Aston Martin…….well, for my 50h birthday, my family bought me track time in a Aston Martin (it was only a V8 Vantage) but it was an Aston. It was the fulfilment of a childhood dream! If you get the chance….GRAB IT!
When Bond is giving Vesper the kiss f life and the chest compressions, all l keep thinking is…god some guys get all the luck! Thats one stunt that Daniel Craig made sure he did himself!
5 out of 5 for me and Daniel Craig is my favourite Bond ☺. His vulnerability makes him real. The other Bonds we always knew would escape, more or less, without a scratch and so there was never any real tension with other Bonds, even Sean Connery.
Although it is probably too late for this advice but think of the next film, "Quantum of Solace" as the 4th and 5th acts of Casino Royale. It is a very under rated film, unfortunately many people do not like it.
@@BaddMedicine Spoiler in read more An observation of my own is that Mr. White describes how Quantum thought MI6 and the CIA was aware of them when they had no idea Quantum existed. This is paralleled visibly by the chase occurring under the road where the parade is happening. Much like MI6 and CIA did not know about Quantum the people in the parade did not know about the chase going on below. Both Bond and Mitchell emerge from the sewer and all of a sudden everyone knows just like how MI6 and the CIA know about Quantum.
The car flip was filimed at the MIRA test circuit in the UK on the I think it is called the Alpine circuit and the MIRA test track was featured on classic Top Gear several times with Clarkson, Hammond and May testing out their cars in their hilarious challenges.
The guy who played the Doctor in the scene where Bond is poisoned (Paul Bhattacharjee) commited suicide in 2013 after being declared bankrupt...He also had a small part as a Doctor in the movie "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" (2011)..one of my favs.
As an old school bond fan Craig's version is the best since Connery where everyone else played the smooth sophisticated spy these two both showed the brutal iron fist under the velvet glove.
I liked Living Daylights better as a reboot because of the classic Cold War setting, but Casino definitely sits firmly behind the Connery films and Daylights for me. I never got into Moore or Brosnan as Bond. They were cartoon characters with one liners. Craig, Connery and Dalton strike me as believable spies in a real-ish world. From Russia With Love is my overall favourite, but it's a tough call between that, Daylights and Casino. Goldeneye works in spite of Brosnan's slightly overdramatic performance. Craig added that Flemingesque humanity. In the novels, he's an alcoholic and a drug addict with serious PTSD from childhood. Craig kind of explores that here, but not to the extent I would have liked. Bond is supposed to be a very human, narcissistic antihero, not something out of the Marvel universe.
People weren’t pissed. The whole movie theater burst out laughing when they saw Bond in a Ford. Everyone was expecting a cool sports car and instead he’s driving a rental. It was hilarious. And it made sense since this is an origin story.
Can’t remember if I’ve told you guys , but definitely planet of the apes trilogy (rise , dawn , war) and the cornetto trilogy ( Shaun of the death , hot fuzz and worlds end). Thanks ! You love comedies cornetto will do well for u and planet of the apes is just my favourite trilogy ever

A fun fact about the Aston Martin vanquish The car handle so well that they could not flip it when they were trying to do that scene with her in the road Eventually, they had to build a ramp and edit it out
Google started in 1998 and google maps hit the internet in early Maps was 2005 xx cant believe you know Eva Green and yet you didnt recognise one of the worlds greatest actresses as M Dame Judy Dench who can out act anyone anytine xx
This and TOMORROW NEVER DIES to me are the BEST Bond Movies of all time, though SKYFALL is amazing as well. ALL others are just a fun ride with varying qualities. That being said, my favourite is THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN. You just cant beat Sir Christopher Lee as a Villain ^^
I think that given any Aston martin car, I expect a pistol compartment to be within the glove box as standard now. If there isnt one - its a defect. LOL
Saw this opening night and when LeChiffre hits him in the nuts with that thing you could FEEL every man in the room groan in sympathy pain. I didn't get to drive it, but I got to sit in an Aston Martin DBS V12 at a dealership in Vegas. The guy let me start it up. Oh my GOD I would kill for that car. Still my dream car. It's not a raw roar like a Lambo or Ferrari, it's a growl... you feel the power, but you also feel how it is controlled. The enzymes in saliva break down blood. If you have dried blood on your skin you can lick it off in seconds, or wet your finger and rub it off. Bond would know that. Though it being someone else's is icky.

Thank you! And a Bond movie by Nolan would be insane.
Ahhh good nugget of info!
Yes. I would agree. Pre Bond smoothness.
Tom Hardy is getting too old and not as attractive as Daniel and he is a closed gay guy too so he might get mad if they put a gay scene lol
Yup! Just give James a bottle and a beach house and he's good.
Aidan Turner would be my choice.
Love the ending of Casino Royale when you finally hear the traditional Bond music coming in just for a few seconds.
That was pretty cool! This was a really good Bond movie.
XD
We digged the early stages of Bond. He has grit in this one.
He wasn’t in the SAS
@@gasparcuneo7888 Vesper calls him a “former SAS type” in the train scene and he doesn’t correct her.
@@orwinbeane4171 he was the navy
@@gasparcuneo7888 Ok, so he’s SBS then. Still special forces.
I just checked the office James Bond wiki. He is ex-SBS. Very similar to SAS.
My ranking of the Daniel Craig Bond movie's
1- Skyfall 10/10
2- Casino Royal 10/10
3- No time to die 9/10
4- Specter 7/10
5- Quantum of Solace 7/10
Accurate. Pretty much my rankings of the Craig Bond films
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Nah, Casino royale is the best one, by far.
@@blondymonk1535 I like Casino Royal I just like Skyfall More
oh hey! always great to see reactions for Daniel Craig's Bond films!!! hope you guys have fun with this series of films! it's definitely one of my favorites! Craig is my second most favorite Bond actor on the rankings, though Casino Royale is definitely in my top 5 of Bond films :)
Looking forward to seeing the rest. 👍 Thought DC did great.
@@BaddMedicine Also RIP to Chris Cornell whose main title sequence theme "You Know My Name" is so perfectly fitting to start off this new Bond era
Yup. Agreed. RIP Chris. 🙏
I grew up watching Bond movies with my Dad, my favourite films are Goldeneye & Casino Royale, the torture scene & the poker game is genius & well done, enjoyed all your reactions here, Dave "I hope nothing bad happens to her" I'm like "oooof Dave's in for a time later"
great stuff guys!
🤘🤘🤘🤘
this torture scene are the most pain than the other horror movies😂
Lol agreed!
17:08 at the time, not sure any more, but this scene held the World Record for the most recorded flips by a car on film
🤣🤣🤣🤣 that's awesome!
Loved your reaction ^^ By the way, the guy who did parkour is actually one of the inventor of this sport (Sebastien Foucan). And about the weird thing about Vesper's fingers in the shower, I'll say Sean Connery did a lot more of weird things with women XD
And also, do you guys think you could react to other james bond era ? Like the ones with Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, etc ...
Thank you and thank you for the watch. We can add another James Bond era movie to our list :)
Like sucking poison out of a girl's foot or giving a woman a rubdown with a mink glove in Thunderball?
Dig it! Good for DC for having input.
Underwear not naked
this movie still holds up. absolutely fantastic choice picking daniel craig to play bond. cant wait to see the following reactions to these bond films. im particularly looking forward to 'Skyfall' reaction.
DC did fantastic. Looking for to Skyfall as well.
"Still holds up" ? You make it sound like it was made in the 1930s.
@@SCharlesDennicon yeah, my bad 🤣
@CEO of Secularism Casino Royale... 2006 Casino Royale ?
@CEO of Secularism I agree, but in that case, being surprised that it looks modern doesn't make sense : same comment I made to 4ortytoon, it's not like the movie was made in the 1930's! Come on, guys, it's 2006! Are you all in your teens or something? :D
I'm with you. I throughly enjoyed watching this for the umpteenth time with you guys! Thanks for the great reaction!
Casino Royale is fantastic, love this movie
🤘🤘🤘
The 5 Daniel Craig Bond movies are the best imo, all built into one good character arc and story unlike the previous and gives us a darker Bond
Can't wait to see them all
When Bond started laughing during the torture scene it reminded me of the Joker during the Dark Knight interrogation scene... To have someone laugh in your face, Muhammed Ali style, while you're giving them everything you've got must be seriously demoralising.
oh boy. youre on your way to No Time To Die now... cant wait to see your reactions to this absolute rollercoaster.
Everyone is pumping up Bond... That good to see!
same
....love your reactions
....
Thank you! Much appreciated!
No Time to Die, a rollercoaster ? The second half was a snoozefest, the antagonist was the weakest of the saga since the Brosnan era next to the dude in The World is Not Enough, the wokeness was annoying, and the ending was a farce.
Uh oh .. not good? What works you rate it?
When they cast Craig I remember going, "what the hell? HIM?!" But within 10 minutes of the movie starting I was so completely sold on him. He OWNED that role better than any. And I grew up on Bond with my Dad. Seen em and love em all, but Craig just really took this role to heart.
Apparently he was offered the job after someone saw him in the movie 'Layer Cake' even though the role was a million miles from a James Bond type character but its a brilliant movie.
So happy you reacted to this.
For me this has the best bond music, both the theme by Chris Cornell and score by David Arnold (BBC SHERLOCK) is superb.
Great movie and great song by CC too!
@@BaddMedicine also the car chase scene before Bond gets tortured, broke the Guinness world record for the most cannon flips.
Daniel Craig has appointed honorary commander for the British Navy which is the rank Bond receives
That's pretty cool
Great stuff here. DC is an awesome Bond. And our Skyfall reaction hopefully will drop in the next few days.
I have watched lots of reviews but you guys are really the best
Thank you very much! We appreciate it. 😁🤙
Thank you! Much appreciated! Lol such a beautiful car. I don't know if I'd be able to watch that actually happen. 🤣🤣

That torture scene is brutal
Yup! 😂
its 5/5 for me. This movie is amazing. I've seen it atleast 5 times and keep watching scenes from it every now & then.
Vesper is my favorite Bond girl.
She did great in this!
When Bond is giving Vesper the kiss f life and the chest compressions, all l keep thinking is…god some guys get all the luck! Thats one stunt that Daniel Craig made sure he did himself!
This channel is gonna have a heavy hit in growth of subs. I can feel it.
We hope you're right. 😁🤙🤙🤙
This is my favorite Bond film. Skyfall is a close second.
5 out of 5 for me and Daniel Craig is my favourite Bond ☺. His vulnerability makes him real. The other Bonds we always knew would escape, more or less, without a scratch and so there was never any real tension with other Bonds, even Sean Connery.
It's Great!!!! My most favorite Bond movie!!!!!
Great start to the DC Bond
Check out "Layer Cake" if you haven't already. Daniel Craig is brilliant. Great reaction fellas
Thank you! I think Mason Quinn had seen it but the rest of us haven't.
greatest opening scene out of any James Bond movies :)
Time for me to binge all of them!! ❤️❤️❤️
Although it is probably too late for this advice but think of the next film, "Quantum of Solace" as the 4th and 5th acts of Casino Royale. It is a very under rated film, unfortunately many people do not like it.
We plan on recording that in a few days. So perfect timing

An observation of my own is that Mr.
The car flip was filimed at the MIRA test circuit in the UK on the I think it is called the Alpine circuit and the MIRA test track was featured on classic Top Gear several times with Clarkson, Hammond and May testing out their cars in their hilarious challenges.
i like every james bond some are better than others and i have watch all at least once. from young adult fan of 007 films
This one and skyfall are the best by far
Looking forward to seeing that
Skyfall is nothing compared to this.
This is the best ever James Bond movie in my opinion
It was great! DC crushed it.
10/10 for me! It is in my Top 5 of all time!

Thank you very much! We appreciate it and glad you found us. 👍🤙🤘
Great stuff here. 🤘🤘🤘

I grew up with Brosnan as Bond and I was never a fan (although I do like him as an actor). But I do love Craig as Bond, and Casino Royale is by far my favorite of his.
A fun fact about the Aston Martin vanquish
The car handle so well that they could not flip it when they were trying to do that scene with her in the road
Eventually, they had to build a ramp and edit it out
When you land at a foreign airport, the car rental companies generally don't have too many Aston Martins available.
Daniel Craig's first outing as James Bond in this movie about a deal gone wrong and Le Chiffre tries to get his money back via a game of poker

The enzymes in saliva break down blood. If you have dried blood on your skin you can lick it off in seconds, or wet your finger and rub it off. Bond would know that. Though it being someone else's is icky.
