- As promised, we’re getting away from our “comfort zone” of Cayuga Lake and trying a new place during this trip. In this video we venture off to Owasco Lake which is about 10 mile East of Cayuga Lake in search for some big bass (and apparently rock bass).

Happy Father’s Day Greg. Not sure if you have kids or not but you’ve been a UA-cam father to me by showing how to improve my fishing skills! Stay rad man!
We are all Greg’s children🙏
Dad?
@@aarking now its getting creepy.... lol
Only kids Greg has, is his fleet of Native kayaks lol.
State record 8.5 pound small mouth caught last week on Cayuga nice too see you out here fishing!
I’m from TN but I read an article about that. Thing was an absolute mule
Great day.
Wow, yes, once again you have wowed me. Only videos I watch and wish there was more than 30 minutes to it.
Love it when you go to NY. I have family up there. Time for me to go say hello.
Thank you again for your incredible insite to fishing. Bout to head out to a few new spots because of you. Keep em coming man. Thanks again.
Been following for ...what. ...5...6 years now? Your production, storytelling, enthusiasm, SKILLS ...it's always a treat.......just THANKS, Greg.
I’m so proud to call NY home and the place I learned to bass fish…. So many incredible spots. And you hardly ever need to worry about the heat aside from late July-September
Greg, that was another great move, especially to the opposite end of the lake. Nice beautiful healthy bass, and another great day. Good luck in the tournament bro. 😎 🙏 🎣
Love watching these early morning vids!
Sunday morning Bass &Coffee ☕️
I can’t believe it’s already time for Greg’s annual return to NYS again. Have a great time!
Thanks for sharing what you are using! I like the truck! It works to keep u fishing I understand! Enjoy the scenery show! Good fishing especially with friends! Have a good day!!
So funny your practice rounds are always so epic!!
Wow, another good choice in moving to another spot and snagging that toad! Rock Bass are cute though (and probably make for good eating!) Thanks, as always, for sharing your tips and adventures 🎣
What a beautiful area!
I can't tell you how much I look forward to your vidieos. You the man
Thank you sir
Enjoying the New York videos!
Looks beautiful & green there nice. Thanks for bringing me good vibes this morning I made it out & have had no luck this season but saw signs of hope last time & this time I got one only about 2lbs but the first of the season. Had another but got off. Felt great to set that hook. Got um on a jig with soft crawdad bait on the hook. Pretty much no matter what your only chance to catch something is when your line is in the water so just thinking that you know your going to get bite with a good bait & presentation or sometimes it just lands near them. But ya it’s always worth riding out the skunk sessions & finally find a pattern.
Sierra Nevada hoodie is 🔥 bro!! Good stuff as always 🎣
Great video Greg!! Love it!👍💪
Always nice to see a different lake!
Great content as always!!
Oh man, Sunday vibes bra 🎣🌴🤙
Some nice chunks! 😎👍
New York and big Bass! I would have never thought that! Well done Greg!
Black bass are native species back east, not native in California but transplants. I'm not aware of any freshwater bass that is native to California. This is one of the reasons why our trout, salmon, and steelhead are not what they once were. Too many unnatural predators. Plus, we have idiots that thought it was cool to introduce pike in to the lakes.
Being native is probably why (and water) there are more bass tournaments and leagues back there. Bassmaster TOC will be in Knoxville, and the kayak TOC somewhere nearby.
Looking forward to the tournament video although I already know the final standings. I have only fished for bass twice in my life so far, both were my grad year in Chico. I my favorite fishing is grabbing my trout rod and backpack and head up into the Sierras for some backpacking, camping, and trout fishing and eating. Straight from the alpine lakes to the campfire, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
My son's favorite is Dungeness season. I did take him bass fishing on Father's Day at Vasona. He's taking about trying for tuna off San Diego.
Awesome video! Good luck in the tournament!🤙
Thanks for another great video! Those rock bass look neat!
Now that looked fun!
Right on bud! Great healthy chunks. Great vid. I got my PB largie on the Chazy river this morning near the mouth to lake Champlain. Cheers.
Love seeing you back in ny these are my home waters
Cool Lake right there, looks beautiful!
Definitely enjoyed the start of my Father’s Day by watching your video. Only UA-camr whose videos I watch from beginning to end.
yessir, happy fathers day!
Dobyns Fury cb 705 .. great for cranks or top water ..hope to run into you on the delta someday.. Rock bass king lol FYI .. nothing is the clear lake of anything lol… should take that kayak down the Russian river for smallmouth.. a blast
Waking up on Sunday Morning in Putah Creek, watching a Greg video from my tent is not a bad way to get the morning going.
As a Spanish speaker, that lake name is utterly hilarious lol
Bro what a day and what a way to catch em! That jig!! Woooo boy good stuff my guy
Hey, that was a productive outing... Solid Fish!
Good luck on the tournament!
Love those Goggleyes !!!
Took my 3 y/o twin girls out today on the kayaks. Was so surprised how well they did! An I landed a couple bass for them! Was an amazing day! Hope you had a great day today Greg! Thanks for the upload!
Happy fathers day!
@@GregBlanchardFishing thanks man! I know you showed them bass who their daddy is!
Good Luck in tourney!!!
Cool too see you on the east cost come too mass the bass are really good
There is a 'Liam-Neeson-hops-over-a-fence' level of jump-cuts in these videos 🤣 Love the fishing, though.
Sooo many Rock Bass!!!
Happy Father’s Day
Looks like u had a great time catching em biggens !
On my way to the delta watching this !! 👍🏽👍🏽
Congrats on the new sponsorship your new truck wrap is looking on point. 🤪
No one on the UA-cam can catch 4 bass in 1 minute and 39 seconds well done sir 💪🤙 😂 (begining of video)
good stuff brotha
My fav place to fish (when I lived in Cato, NY) was Cross Lake....They have great size bass, northern pike, and tiger muskie there! I used to be known as the pike lady out there! I'm in Fulton NY now, so I do miss fishing! My husband passed away 3 yrs ago and I havent fished since even though I have TONS of fishing equipment.
Welcome to NY !
Healthy looking fish 💪 got skunked in the heat this morning out on Lake Lavon (not really known for bass but it's the closest one to me)
Nice video👍
Always admire your videos.
Just a teeeeeeeny suggestion
It would be amazing if you added a little graphic on where your casts land would be amazing in pin pointing your bites
Keep it up greg, thank you!!!!
Dude that dock you were trying to find that smallmouth on was my friends boat dock!! We were there just the other week and all we were caughting was rock bass. It was great for the kids though!
Greg you’ll have to make a spoof hoodie of a giant Rock Bass eating a bluegill😆
If you’re still in NY and have never fished Chaumont Bay area it’s definitely worth checking out. When I lived there, Chaumont Bay Marina would let kayakers launch the ramp for free and the bridge pilings right near the launch held some massive smallmouths.
I caught a rock bass wading our local river yesterday. He hit my 110 whopper plopper and he was about 4 inches long. They're super feisty.
If you’re still in NY hope your enjoying the time with family and getting out on them home waters man. if not hope ya enjoyed! Haha
Good morning my brotha
The Rock Bass aka the Dewayner aka the Living Legend.
Driving through upstate NY town to show off the famous landmarks. Such as Kinney’s Drugstore! Ha! Got them in my town too.
a classic! 🤣
Went fishing on my yak this morning caught 7 Largies. Spook was doing the trick. ( in NC btw )
Those were some fattys! Thxs for taking us to NY!
Try Canandaigua! Closest finger lake to me
I live Auburn, on the North End, and where you launched from - the west side of the lake is shallower than the east side, as you go south - smallmouth are pretty prevalent on the north end mostly on the East side --- you turned right coming out of the outlet launch -- rather than left ----, as are pike and of course, rock bass in huge schools--- south side is large slab panfish and largemouths ... although like any lake, you do get some movement, so can pull some nice fish anywhere ---
there are also lake trout on the east side, starting about a third of the way down the lake, at that first point you see
Please forgive me, but I won't be sharing my preferred colors and lures ......
The only reason I got into fishing was because of Greg blanchards videos. I've gone fishing several times and skunked every time except once fishing for halibut. I am determined to get a damn bass!
Try fishing the. St.Lawrence river Greg
Those rock bass will kill a fisherie real quick. They have tourneys on a bunch of bodies of water here in New England trying to get a hold on the population. The person with the most pounds of rock bass wins.
I live in afton New York in chenango County and I recently finally caught my pb bass of 6.54lbs here next to state park in broome county. If you want to get onto a real good bite let me know I got 2 perfect big bass spots
You should come fishin in pipestem WV with me on the new river of you ever down this way. Lots of good smallmouth
It connects to bluestone lake in hinton
👍
Greg, would you mind sharing where the launch is at the southern end of Owasco Lake? Thanks very much...
Bro I got skunked at berryessa yesterday in the kayak after 6 hours I’m sore as hell
The inlet down where you were catching them with Jake is murky like that year round for the most part.
Dude when your in New York do a meet and greet or a meet and fish
Fished the tail end of a brutal warm front Friday and only got one. Now I'm wondering if I could have moved and done better.
Really curious what pants and boots you wear, I believe the boots are the NRS ones correct? I tried some waterproof socks from Amazon, but don’t like the way they fit. Love watching your channel, best kayak fisher on UA-cam IMO.
thanks man, yes boots are NRS boundary boots, pants are AE joggers that discontinued unfortunately
Uhauls gonna wonder why their truck smells like fish lol.
How much do you normally spend when you travel that far and what all do you typically bring? If you don't mind me asking 😅
too much🤣
Greg, I really need to find a kayak that holds my grande body. I aint tryin to end up in the drink after hook'n a tank... any recs would be appreciated. Keep up the great videos!!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🎣🎣
The Native Titan, or Native Slayer Max would suit your needs.
3 waters Big fish 120 or 110 is a beast I have 105 I’m 5’6” 150 and it’s stable. Check them out. Tight line!
Buy a jon boat then lol
They make all kinds of kayaks I’m sure you’ll be able to find one. If you can my advise is if you’re stuck between deciding which one you want go it’s always good to save up for a bit longer and get a better one you’ll appreciate it in the long run
Titan 12/13.5, Hobie PA14
Try the other end at the inlet
I’m low key a rock bass fan😅
greg you need to go to miner slough on the delta for smallmouth so many fish bright crank baits whopperploppers dropshot and ned rig would be great content
been scoping that area for a few years now, just gotta find a launch
@@GregBlanchardFishing rio vista would be far there is one other one don't remember the name
What is the knot you use to tie on lures with flourocarbon?
Does anyone know what he uses to carry his rods? He was using a carrier with a shoulder strap and had all of his rods together.
you should fish lake moraine
Go to lake George I'll be there fishing till the 22
Bass Disneyland
I always thought rock bass were a bass species, but I pretty sure I read somewhere that they are a subspecies of sunfish I think
Bass are sunfish as well
Are you fishing Oneida this weekend
What is the motor setup that you have on your native ?
There's a lake by me I wish that has rock bass, they are annoying lol especially when you're going for the hawgs lol I was getting skunked this past weekend, finally hooked into an absolute hawg, tried to boat flip him and he shook my hook 🤦♂️
If you’re looking for another lake I would love to show ya little York.
I am disappointed that the z-man chatterbait is not in the line up. When it comes to wins? Use what works.!!
What kind of reel is on that white rod?
abu garcia zata
@@GregBlanchardFishing love the videos Greg appreciate the response
What's your favorite kayak ylubuse
need a pickup?
My neighbor fishes this area a lot and even though this watershed is some of the best all around bass fishing on the planet more than one lake has been overtaken by rock bass. BTW of course they eat well. Kill them.
Can you come fish with me fishing lake Wilhelm in Pennsylvania nice Bass lake I do kayak fishing for bass
Man please, next time you're in NY, I will pay for a meet and greet lol and if you're up for it I can show you some good spots too! I love all of your videos but the fingerlakes ones literally hit home lol
