Return to New York (Finger Lakes Bass Fishing)

- I made my way back home to New York during the month of June and of course we’re doing some fishing. I shipped a ton of gear and brought a bag full of stuff since I haven’t fished this specific time of year in NY for quite some time. Hopefully we can get on some fish during our stay since NY has some fantastic and plentiful bass fisheries in the Finger Lakes.

What motor are you running on this native ? Thanks !
@@SonOfaFish518 a Torqueedo. Not sure if it’s the 403 or the 1103.
These fish gonna make you move back to New York 😂
Greg, you see that the state record smallmouth was just broken at Cayuga? 😮

I did lol that was crazy
Really appreciate the effort on your NY videos. It cannot be easy nor cheap to ship all that gear across the country.
Spinnerbait has been killer for me this year, adding a trailer has changed my confidence in the lure
One of the best things about bass fishing is the complexity and variety of different applications.Catching fish with all your setups is so satisfying ,never seems to get old.
Yes! My favorite time of the year! The time when Greg comes east to fish his home lakes, the Finger Lakes.
Working noons, waking up, got my stuff done, now its time to relax. Watch greg, and grind another shift.
Impeccable timing Sir Gregory
It's amazing what a 10 minute move across the lake can do to help improve your catch. I hate the frustration of a grass jungle too. That's where the Senkos comes in handy. Thanks for taking us back East 😊
I love the effort put into editing and filming. Great video as always.
These are the videos I look forward to the most from you. The bass fishing in the Finger Lakes as a whole is better than anywhere else in my opinion. I mean the fishing period for a variety of species is better than anywhere else.
Nice to see you back in NY, Greg! Enjoy your time here!
Coffee, morning poop and some Greg Blanchard. Nough said 🤠
The state record smallmouth was caught out of Cayuga yesterday! Get on it Greg! 💪
Another epic video for sure.
Time to sit and relax
Always enjoy watching you on your adventures
Nothing like traveling cross-country for the carp spawn! 😂
👏👏👏👏👏. Yes yes yes.... This day just got a whole lot better🎣💯
I love the NY video’s. It’s never a ‘In-and-out burger kinda day’ when you go to NY, lol. Can wait for the rest and the tourney.
You must really like those Chevy trucks. You get one every time you go on vacation.
happened to be one of the only pickups I could rent in the area! Only 16k miles on it and it worked like a charm the whole trip!
GB your commitment to kayak fishing make me wanna get my hobie back. Great vid bro
Heck yeah! Another awesome video
Awesome video Greg. Love it!👍👊
Can't wait to see the tourney vidieo your gonna crush it. You the man
Another awesome video thank you!🤙
Great finishing in NY Greg. Thanks.
You were definitely on em with prediction today! Great video.
Hell yeah! Love the NY series! Definitely need to get up to Cayuga one of these days. 👍
I love the finger lakes FLCC alumni thanks for taking me down memory lane in Texas now
Greg Blanchard is Good Vibes, all vibes! Love the videos!
Love the video!
I'm not one much for watching other people doing stuff, but Greg, I love to watch you fish!
Alright alright alright. Glad to see having some fun and nailing it in NY. Keep it up as always and TY man.
Greg Blachard, as a person who admires your ability to fish and bring it to all of us, is this you telling me I've won something and have to pay shipping, etc, or is it a scam. I just don't know these days. You are quite popular.
@@scottbostic6247 it’s a scam. Someone copied his emoji and is fishing for information. I texted and they asked for full name and email. Red Flag!
When I clicked on the emoji of Greg in the reply it said it was a new subscriber for only 1 day. I have blocked the number and changed passwords.
@@fredaw61 thank you. I eventually did the se thing and realized he had one subscriber. If anyone else sees this, I hope they know. Thanks again for your reply.
Good Job Bro....gotta love that spinner bait action 😎
Greg says "watch the next bite be a pickerel" catches a pickerel on that cast, feds roll up and take him in to test as next psychic weapon 🤣
I love those videos from NY. last year was the lucky craft green tiger jerkbait. And these time mag draft spinner bait. Awesome awesome 👏🏽.
17:09 that carp was GIANT! I hear ya on that grass. Blessing and a curse. Nice one on the Mag Draft. I love when they're hitting the spinnerbait! Thanks for another great NY episode.
Thanks OLA! Need to do a Florida trip one of these days!
@@GregBlanchardFishing You really do, Greg. I'd be happy to host a trip to the forest. You will not be disappointed.
@@GregBlanchardFishing Working on pre-trip planning for Cayuga Lake. I'll be staying there for 4 nights / 5 days. I will probably fish the northern part 2 or 3 times but what do you think about fishing the south part for Smallmouth and Musky? Any recommendations for the south launch? Also.... any recommendations for a good RV campground? Thanks.
Always love the NY videos. I've only fished the south end of Cayuga for brown's, Lakers, and Kokanee. The smelt runs haven't been too good for years, but the spring is a great time to fish up there. Good luck with your tournament
Thanks Michael! Love going back to NY each year, wish I could do it more
My man if you ever do a give away again. I want your life. Lol. Absolutely love your videos. Always watch til the end. Keep doing what you love it makes me happy and helps me get to my one day off a week. Sunday is my funday!! Keep it up bro!!
Fingers crossed you can win another kayak so you can just have a full set up in New York !
Home stomping grounds. Just got into fishing last summer and have really enjoyed it. Gas prices are going to need to drop before I tow my boat from TN to NY though. Definitely some good bass fishing there. The record SMB caught on Cayuga the other day was a tank! Awesome content!
Yep, FJB!!!
Greg, im heading to Cayuga to watch Stage 6 MLF coming up. Upstate NY is beautiful. Keep up the great videos Greg. You da man, pots & pans!!!!
love the NY videos!
Great first day back in New York, great job on spinnerbait pattern, and man was that cool when you said one out of three fish would be a Pickrell and a third fish you caught was a pickle just waste you to got that six pounder you were trying to talk up. Hope your whole trip is this successful or even better, good luck in the tournament
Occasionally watch your vids, but I religiously watch the annual NY videos haha. Excited to have you back for a couple days!
Every year i watch this NY stuff and im like i should drive up and catch you lol
Great vid. Thanks
I'm always pumped to see when you're back at home state record smally possibly caught in Cayuga... Lovin'the Gilly's man what a hell of a bait
I always love the New York fishing videos better.
Love it, Thank you :D
Awesome video. Pretty stoked for my next fishing trip. I just got a new Shimano curado. First Shimano reel so I’m pretty stoked.
epic video and epic day GB. awesome. I'd love to fish cayuga or the delta someday. Maybe next year i'll try and make a trip either up north or out west. I burned up all my vacation for this year fishing the hobies. man it just looks epic and beautiful up there.
I like seeing the New York send definitely some fat fish up there!!
Greg got so excited, you hear the preacher man coming out of him lol
🤣
I'm now hooked on SN Pale Ale thanks Greg.
Next NY trip you should have a meetup! Love seeing you back in NY where I fish.
Bro, by 7 minutes in I had to stop drooling!
Finger lakes baby! Where I cut my teeth learning how to fish back in the day. Then there's May's Point, Seneca Lake, Thousand Islands and St. Lawrence Lake.
Love this video, I personally won my first tournament not too long ago and very proud! Anyways bro another banger of a video remember the grind never stop💪
Nice video , that's that you are from the Central NY area as well , best of luck in your tournaments ahead
Right on bud! Love it. I'm going to lake Champlain for some bass and pike fishing with pops this weekend. Cheers!
Rochester NY is my home town as well. Great videos man. My family has a hunting camp in Naples, not to far from where you grew up
They just broke the New York smallmouth record last sat. 8.58lbs
Great video as always 💯. That’s the best CLIF bar BTW..
just a lil past the exp date 🤣
lol every time u hooked on, that biceps just pop every time
Renting a U-Haul pick up is a power move!
Mom was just happy I didn't use her honda crv all week🤣
The Uhaul truck, for the win, nice call Greg, I’d probably do the same thing brotha!!
I went to Cayuga a month ago and fished the same spots you were at in the beginning. It was under a lot of pressure. There were three boats and a kayak sitting at the second railroad bridge you fished. They were there the entire day. My brother in law was there a week or so earlier, and said there had to be over 100 boats fishing that end of the lake.
I am from Binghamton. I have fished right where you were. You did a hell of a lot better then I did. Someday I want to get a nice, sturdy kayak!! I love the combo of pedal and power. I will start saving my pennies!! (Literally)...LOLOLOL
Good luck in New York. Stop by wegmans grab some double Dan ipa by warhorse. The chatter bait and crawfish has been the go to but I’m fishing Oneida
Greg, welcome home. Beautiful fish caught on that trip. I really love the C.A fishing. But, i learn from the N.Y lakes, because I'm in Rhode island. I can better understand what baits you use. Another great fishing trip. 🙏 😎 🎣
P
Smart man to run away from the west or southern states. We are absolutely frying in this heat.
If my wife ever says I have too much fishing tackle I’m showing her this video 🤣. I missed the spawn entirely this year by me, weather has been super strange.
Going to be fishing around the St Regis chain area this weekend. If you're looking for a change of pace with some smaller and more quiet waters I highly recommend it.
Lol, I just started to clean up my tackle totes and look at my gear, granted I'm a Shimano snub but the amount of tackle you shipped is stunning 😍
I miss fishing in NY. I never was able to fish the finger lakes but, Chaumont Bay I would always catch 4-6lb Smallmouths all the time. However, I live in TX now so I can’t complain as the massive Largemouth here are always fun to catch.
Man, I had the same thing fishing for striper this weekend at O'Neil forebay. Pedaled over there and saw a bunch of carp vs what I thought was striper boils lol
Started out slow but another solid day out on the water!
Lol my guy pulled up in a UHaul 😂
I realized last year that flipping a T Rig rage craw or any other company’s similar bait in grass is a cheat code for me in Mass all summer long so not surprised that grub worked.
Before i moved to Mississippi where I currently reside, I lived in Geneseo, NY not too far from Conesus Lake, I remember catching bass on my break when I worked as a cook at Conesus Inn, which is a 5 star resturant on the lake. Those were the days. Im currently planning my next move but this time I get to choose anywhere and the decision will be made by the best bass fishing and weather situation the area has. Lol I have got to get out of this gulf coast humidity bro, you cant do nothing outside without getting drenched from sweat, Im completely wet before i even take first cast. Im prolly gonna go to the tennessee area or somewhere out west. I need all 4 seasons in my life again. I lived in the Geneseo are for about 6 years and it was beautiful. I loved the weather!
Nice 1 off the Spinner.
We had the same issue with carp spawning during a tournament, got us excited then found out it was damn carp, pushed all the bass out deep and used the jerk bait and produced some 19.75" smallies
Spinnerbait has been killing it on the flx this spring, over everything ive thrown.
I remember those Rage Menace days lol
I am currently in Rochester and have had excellent luck on Irondequoit Bay. If you want somewhere else to fish, it’s a great location.
Bend one of those trebles out on the mag draft and skin hook it. It will prevent the hook from separating from the body to allow you to skip that bait.
greg predicted the future wtf
When he was talking about 1/3 fish he catches out of New York are chain pickerel. Then he catches one and says (well what are the odds of that) I literally said out loud 1 and 3 you just said lol. Just givin you a hard time another great video 👍
Love your videos Sir. Would it be possible to set up the NY garage (downsized version) like you CA fish cave. Thank you for sharing your videos and experiences.
just clicked on this vid cause i saw the bridge on cayuga lake i think... just realized its a new vid.. im a fan dude i just moved to waterloo. and scoped out your vids last year for advice.. cant wait to watch the video and also go fishing again.. i have a jerry rigged kayak with a trolling motor. im usually in the shallows though.. ( cause i suck at fishing) any ways.. if you ever see me on the water or loading dock.. say whats up.. 12 stand up kayak. camo.. completely jerry rigged ,,,, cant miss it... lol....
Greg should do some product give away. Holy crap! Did you say 10 days or 10 years!? Awesome content Greg! Keep it up
that outro jam tho
Just had a similar perch themed TW order for here in New England!
I had pike munching that perch magdraft freestyle 2 wks back. Hard to get them to commit, gonna go for the treble hook next.
I dig your content, I’ve seen every video brotha. Bass fishing is my passion, all I think about and would be awesome to fish with you one day. I’m in the business of looking for a nice paddle kayak.
Haven’t had much luck with the p line tactical. There blue label has more abrasion resistance and is stronger imo. Tight lines bro
Would love to see you go down the river to explore the deeper end of the river! I think I would make a great video of you finding fish and may e show us how you did it
Okay but like why is your hair SO GOOD
😂😂😂
Greg, you ever get over to Keuka Lake? I use to spend summers up there fishing and visiting family. Haven’t been since COVID. Love to see you make a video over there. I’ve never kayaked it.
Man I can’t wait to get back home today and get some time in on that northern end. Been in NJ a week and not having anything to get out on the water with sucks here. Private lakes out the wazoo
Jersey def sucks balls for bass fishing. My buddy has a cabin up in Candor, NY I love it up there
@@bjheff14 I do have this little local pond in Wharton/Rockaway that’s supposed to be stocked. In the 4 times I fished it for about 8 hours total I only caught 2. I think the majority of the fish leave the pond for the Rockaway river if I had to guess. It definitely is not a bass lovers paradise that’s for sure. It’s not my thing at all but I’m gonna try some trout stream fishing down here during the spring next year. Maybe this fall.
George, I live in S. Jersey. I have Union lake nearby but other than that just farm ponds. Which do have tanks in them.
@@bjheff14 sick dude. Ever do any surf fishing on the shore? Just got back from the bank where Greg was pretty much in this video. Caught 9 in 2 hours haha. It’s great to be home!
