I love that Tom Hardy also does the voice for Venom.
In the comics, Spider-Man defeated Carnage with Venom's help. The whole story arc was called Maximum Carnage. Shriek is actually Carnage's sibling. The Vènom symbiote actually chooses its host. The reason he doesn't have the white spider on Venom's chest is because there's no Spider-Man in this universe.
Carnage and Shriek aren't siblings. Where did you get that from?

Shriek isn't Carnage's sibling. Shriek is the person who bonded with Carnage's sibling known as "Scream".
Maximum carnage wasnt his first appearance either. Scream is bonded to a woman named andi. Shriek bonded with demogoblin
Different universe
When venom is inhabiting a host he's not killing them on purpose, just his presence being there in their body and not being compatible causes him to drain their body involuntary. He can make it happen faster, but it's going to happen regardless if it isn't a match. If it's a match he can stop it from happening. He can inhabit anyone without killing them at first, but it's a time limit on that before venom's body starts consuming its host automatically if it's not match.
if I’m not mistaken this movie came out a few months before No Way Home - venom and Eddie entered Tom hollands universe in that resort bedroom, saw him on the tv (which was a teaser to when his identity was revealed for the first time in no way home), Venom says “that guy” and licks the screen which is another teaser for venom to one day encounter with toms hollands Peter. Then when you watch no Way home, the post credit scene is him at the bar learning about everything that happened in tom hollands universe (the blip) and then once doctor strange reverses the spell and has all the villains go back home that’s when venom and Eddie are taken away again, but a piece of venom is left. We just don’t know where eddie and the rest of venom end up yet.
So if this movie was watched before no way home, it would’ve made more sense, but you just had it in reverse

The reason Venom did the whole Web Slinging thing was because He was first bonded to Peter Parker/Spiderman and that is how Spiderman got around so He inherited that from Him but He also Jumped a lot also.
Patrick Mulligan (played by Stephen Graham) is the host of the Toxin symbiote.

24:00 Deadpool doesn't have to rely on living a parasitic diet to survive unlike Venom, let's not forget that he is a highly intelligent parasite from another world so applying our current understanding of morality to him is a bit unfair, we don't call a lion evil for killing for sustenance.
One fact that was twisted in this movie is that Cletus and Carnage were actually a better match than Venom and Brock. They made it seem as if they weren't a good match and were conflicting against each other. Also, how strong a Symbiote may be is based on how they bonded with their host, Carnage who bonded with Cletus through his blood is more intertwined with Cletus than Venom is with Brock, as Venom only bonded with Brock through skin and bones rather than blood, or something along those lines.
It's a fun sequel, Tom Hardy does a lot of silly, and hilarious humor again. Can’t wait to see Venom 3 next year
I believe the blue eyed cop will likely be Toxic (yet another symbiote) in the next movie. The comics had a BUNCH of symbiote villains. Some were SUPER cheesy. But it was still fun none the less. One was a pregnant symbiote trying to give birth to a baby one. So frickin' weird but comedic.
Yes, He will eventually become Toxin but I want to see Anti-Venom at some point

The bit of symbiote that broke off Ed's Venom will be Holland's venom, and I'm gonna bet that Ed Hardy's venom will be Andrew's venom. Also I'm pretty sure the symbiotes share knowledge across all the universes so venom already knew about spider man from the venom in spider man 3 with Tobey, or at least it's theorized and speculative.

Yeah Spider-Man was never able to beat carnage alone. He always needed Venoms help, or the Fantastic Four or the Avengers to do it. I think the comics said Carnage is more powerful because he was born on earth or something. He was very 1990s and was very OP. If I remember right he could regenerate completely from Cletuses blood. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the cop Pat, he didnt last long in the comics, only 2 stories. But his symbiote went on to become some kinda weird Lovecraftian angel something something. lol, comics and be weird some times.

Venom doesn't have the White spider because he hasn't come up against Spider-Man yet. Andrew Garfield is listed ib the 3rd installment. Detective Mulligan's symbiote may be Toxin.
This is what happens when people don't know the history of characters. Spider man 3 screwed up venom. Saw others mentioned this as well, venom gets his webs once he fuses with spiderman. It hasn't happened yet so stop asking where the webs are. There is actually an entire history with venom and Eddie as well as other symbiotes, the symbiote doesn't have to kill the host and they don't have to be compatible. The Stronger the bond, the stronger the pair. For instance, Peter has advanced abilities but venom and Eddie make a better bond and out power venom and Peter. Venom is one of the weaker symbiotes but his bond with Eddie makes them stronger.
Does bro not know the only reason venom in other media knows how to web swing is because he learns it from Peter Parker😭

Venom takes on characteristics of its host, so it only learns to swing, or have Spider-Man like powers after it sticks to Peter Parker for a while. Venom has not stuck to Peter yet, that’s why he can’t do those things “yet.” Everyone in the comments keeps saying this.

Actually both critically and with audiences this one did better than the first 57% vs 29% critics and audience 84% vs 80% for first venom.
Also fun thing in some arcs carnage bonds to Peter, and also his infant…somewhat more recently in comics Carnage bonded with Knull the Klyntar God I think and became more powerful than Thanos and such, was known to infect entire cities and single handedly control the Avengers at one point…I love this movie just because just because Carnage is my favorite, but it veers off a bit to say the least (sine Carnage was ripped apart and thrown into space and survived that…so brute forcing that shouldnt work) still a fun watch, I mean I have some ideas of how to deal with him (well not personally just sayin) but like Strange sending him into the dark dimension or something, but basically webs, goo, and punches dont matter as he can regrow his entire body from a single speck of blood quickly…makes sense though, for a film you cant have the baddie tooo OP, I mean it kinda has to fit into a time slot

The Venom sequel was so cool! But it wasn't even rated r and had a longer runtime. Sorry to say lots of fans think that the sequel was not good, and they think it's very uneventful; I wanna say the sequel is a little scary and hilarious. Venom 3 is next year, and cannot wait for it!!
You guys do spiderman is incredibly strong too and uses science to defeat venom and carnage. Their weakness is fire and sound. So it's not like they are unstoppable. He has defeated them many times in the comics

I get you don't like Venom killing innocent people but I assume you are used to the Spiderman animated series from the 90s? That version was very much toned down. In the comics Venom wans't exactly.... good. I mean he was an anti-hero of course but he sometimes did some terrible things also.
As for Venoms web sort of power, he didn't get that until he met Spiderman. :)

Carnage is essentially Joker with superheroes. Look at it this way both Carnage & Joker are absolute psychos who kill indiscriminately & are two of the most evil villains in comics alone let alone Spider-Man & Batman comics respectively.
The only difference between is when they first appeared in comics The Joker first appeared in Batman #1, 1940 & Carnage first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #361, 1992. Two completely different eras altogether. The 1940s were quaint compared to the ultraviolent 1990s.

Actually before he killed his family his mother his grandmother and his father would abuse him also he killed his mothers dog cause he thought she loved it more than him witch killing your abusive family to escape them is totally justified but the dog he could have taken it with him or to a shelter or something but I did say he thought his mother loved the dog more than him which is obviously a misunderstanding on his side and yes his mother hated him so technically killing it was justified but it just wasn’t necessary

the reason theres no web slinging or spider symbol because theres no connection to spiderman in this universe. this is my biggest gripe about the series.
My theory is scorpion will be the venom for the MCU he's supposed to be in Spider-Man 4 they can set up his hatred for Spider-Man then go from there. Also in venom 3 there's supposed to be a Spider-Man there's no indication on which version of Spider-Man that will be in the movie.

This is the first Jane and JV movie reaction I have seen where they didn’t like the movie and I can’t blame them. It was not a good movie
This Venom has no reason to use webs. He has never merged with,, was not rejected by, and is not obsessed with Spider-man.
I didn't grow up with Venom but I did grow up with Wolverine. Wolverine was introduced in Hulk, so for me, Wolverine is a Hulk villain, and after 23 years of movies, they haven't been together yet.

2 things. When it comes to Venom and webswinging, he did that after being bonded to Peter, so like the symbol on his chest he mimicked Spider-man. Without Spider-man in the movies, no webswinging.
Also Patrick Mulligan (the cop) becomes Toxin, Carnage's son. He's arguably the strongest symbiote ever created, he's also the 1000th on in Venom's line, so each offspring is stronger then their father.
My only problem with this movie is the relationship between Cletus and Carnage. In the comics they had a perfect bond far stronger than Eddie and Venom to the point were the Carnage symbiote itself would act like Cletus whether it was seperated or bonded to another. Cletus' own body was mutated by their strong bond causing his blood to be fused with the Carnage symbiote so that if Carnage was destroyed all he had to do was bleeding to revive it.
Dispite that I did love this movie, I'm a big Carnage fan and I was just happy to see him on the big screen. The cop Mulligan is going to become Toxin, a spawn of Carnage and was feared to be the strongest from both Venom and Carnage.

I will never forgive Sony for not making this R. And I meany like close to X rated. Carange is beyond brutal in the comics. He would make some slasher/horror movies look safe for kids. lol. None the less I still enjoyed the performance.

Honestly I thought Woody would’ve done better with a better script. Carnage is such a big villain though, and they did him pretty dirty with this movie. I mean, it wasn’t absolute trash, but waste of a good cast.

Instead, they lost control of all the liberties they took and screwed up all of their characters and storylines.
They needed the Multiverse to at least salvage some, but they screwed up that storyline too.
