That's great to know a little of the history of Christmas🎄 It's such a great time of year because everyone seems a little bit more cheerful. I hope you have a great weekend, David😁
Great video Mr P. However the commonly held belief that Prince Albert gave us the Christmas tree isn’t quite true. In fact in 1800 Queen Charlotte the German wife of George III at Queens lodge Windsor and this was being copied long before Albert
@GlastonburyGabriel Thanks, Gabe, you are correct. It was the engraving of the Royals decorating the tree that sparked the tradition among the common folks 😀 Loads of the Saturnalia practices were also involved. The mid winter feast of old is also in there with the Father Christmas figure involved . I found it quite an involved subject with the amalgamation of so many beliefs and customs too much for a small video .😊💖💖
Enjoyed learning about the history of Christmas..... And I also very much enjoyed seeing the decorations, and the village all ready for Christmas
Some interesting information there, Dave. Thank you.
