Not far fetched at all actually
can you imagine being an e girl and walking out of your room and seeing your mom and sister acting like victorians I'm in love
It's really funny how different her sister is from her
Lol she's probably used to it by now
omg martha HAHAHA, she is quite the opposite of victorian

Now im curious about how a typical servant's morning routine would be like during the Victorian Era
There's actually a 3 part documentary about this on youtube. There were many many levels of servants, one of the lowest and worst paid ones were the laundresses. ua-cam.com/video/wqiMASk5MIU/v-deo.html
@@MissSeraphine And the poor little scullery maid and the dairy maid. Thnak goodness they didnt send little girls up the chimneys cos that would've been me.
It’s uploaded on the channel English heritage
@@MissSeraphine ty I’ll watch that after tgis
She has a video about this too
People from 2400 would be like:
I followed the 2000 style morning routine
Well the 2000s routine would be :
-Waking up 20-30 minutes after hitting the snooze button 5-6 times.
- Getting some coffee ☕
- Do skincare and brushteeth
- Go on tiktok, watch Netflix or the news while eating a toast with another cup of coffee
- stay on your device for an extra 60 minutes
- take a 1 hour shower
- complain and shame your body for 5 minutes in the mirror
- take 30-40 minutes on picking an outfit
-still feel bad about your body and do 2 squats for encouragement
- realize your late so you take granola bar and water to school or work
- go to work or schools and do tiktoks during the day , talk about influences and celebrities, shame people on Twitter etc...
-go home and realize you haven't mad your bed..bruh😐
@@deanarysdione2006 That's the 2020s not the 2000s...
@@AlexA-bn2wb yeah. More like, turn your alarm clock off after hitting snooze multiple times, then wait for your dial up internet, then connect to AIM etc

My hot water heater went out and won’t be fixed until tomorrow so I’ve been washing my face in a bowl of microwaved water... turns out I’ve been victorian all weekend

Update folks, hot water’s on and I’m back to being a modern woman 🙌🏽
@@AdrianneChristineBooks hahah love this
@@AdrianneChristineBooks haha congrats! On a serious note though, hot water is very damaging for skin and hair (it dries the skin and weakens the hair), consider washing your face with cold/cool water instead. It's very refreshing and it tightens up some of those annoying pores as well ;)

Ruby has grown into herself a lot more I would say, she's letting her personality shine and I'm living for it honestly.
i know!! her character development throughout the years is stunning
Yeah, she's definitely making the transition to being more confident / adult while still being quite sweet.
It’s funny because I feel like she accepted that she didn’t have to eliminate everything that was considered « cool » just because it wasn’t considered to be fitting to her aesthetic. So you would expect the opposite to happen.
Checked out her older videos after seeing this comment and honestly it's amazing to watch someone grow😅
Me: * romanticizing the Victorians*
Also, me: *realizes they washed their hair only when they absolutely had to, never washed their outer garments, used corncobs as toilet paper, powdered their faces with lead, used fermented whale poop as perfume, and that the most effective treatment for hysteria was being pregnant* yeah, no thanks
1. They washed their hair frequently, although cuts were generally not done for women and knee length hair takes a while(I should know, I wash 1 in every three days and sacrifice 2 hours that day to get it ready and washed not to mention the 10 hours it takes to dry)
2. They did not wash their outer garments yes, but their chemises kept the sweat from them
3. They did have toilet paper by this time, and they also used newspapers, where do you get corncob?
4. By this point the dangers of lead were known, are you thinking of the Elizabethan Era?
5. Okay now I’ve never heard this one, they used things like orange blossoms and rose water for perfumes, it was quite the business
6. I don’t know the most common treatment for hysteria in women although doctors thought it laid in the womb and overies.
Eww pregnancy treating hysteria??? wtfffff
@@makaelaischillin Well, I'm not an expert, but I saw this in a book made by a female historian, I could be wrong 🤷🏻♀️ Also, technically toilet paper was invited during the middle of the century, the corncob came before that. I don't know if the corncob part is true, but I saw it mentioned in two different instances so who knows.
@@makaelaischillin In regards to the lead bit, they knew a lot of things were toxic and still used them. Lead could still be found in over-the-counter beauty products, just like other toxic compounds. Anyway, I love learning new things, so thanks for the reply!
@@thecaprikid1329 yeah, most people believed hysteria was caused by an idle womb, whatever that means.

Actually if you put a glass of water at your nightstand at night you should cover it with a small plate or just bring a water bottle, it's better.
@@misssavvyliterature5977 how would that absorb the toxins then

I need a full shower in the morning I couldn't imagine having that tiny bowl of water and soap. 😢
They would have used a much larger bowl than what she used. I've had strip washes when camping and you can clean yourself properly. So long as you've got soap, water and a good sized cloth.
And I need to brush my teeth, first of all.

Yeah but not all of them had maids among a few other things. I feel like these types of videos in this era never represent the common folks back then.
@@millennialodyssey5956 Yes that is true. I do really like seeing the comparison between the classes in the Victorian era, as there is always such a difference.

Just take Eve Cornwell as an example of a student vlogger who has a bit more flavour to her personality.
@@artistsanomalous7369 I disagree, you don't have to be absolutely childlike to have "flavour" to your personality.
