I used to watch top 5s Mothman videos when I was young, so a new one is a real treat
My parents have property very near point pleasant on the Ohio side. We used to run up and down the banks of the Ohio river. I can’t be 💯 % certain. But we have seen a few unexplainable things. One time we spotted a bird/man creature perched on top of a train trestle

Similar to bigfoot sightings, many people have seen something out of the ordinary, there are things in this world that defy explanation
This might sound crazy but years ago my cousin was telling me about the scary things he would see as a small teen when he would watch our great grandfathers ranch in Mexico by himself. (Don’t ask me why a small teen would watch an entire ranch by himself late at night but that’s how it goes in Mexico)
One night he was riding his bike/motorcycle into town and said something just landed in the middle of the road and completely blocked the road.
He said that whatever it was opened up huge wings and it was completely hairy and took off into the sky again.
I told him that more than likely it was his imagination or he must’ve been joking with me but now watching this video on top 5 I’m starting to think my cousin wasn’t lying.

Something very similar to moth man appeared over here in the UK. A couple of friends were walking home late one night when they saw a few hundred feet ahead of them what they thought was a tall man who when it spotted them it hid behind a hedge. My friends thought it was someone waiting to mug them so they stood still what ever it was that had hid then walked into the road and put out what looked like a massive pair of wings and just shot up into the sky and was gone. It scared them so much they wouldn’t go out at night for months. May sound like B/S but both middle aged professionals and I believe them.
When was this & why did they not think to pull out their phones?

Men, biologically speaking, are quite ballsy in these situations, to the point of sometimes being foolhardy. There are two of them. One of it. Their instinct of fight or flight would have been active and they had not run, meaning they were prepared to fight. In this day and age it is almost a reflex to film the odd & unusual.
@@WoodlandAsh I think it’s difficult to judge what you would have done if you weren’t in that situation all I know is it scared them so much they wouldn’t go out at night for a long time. They are not the type to imagine or make something up as I said both are professional people. One a teacher the other an accountant.

Mothman is an angel. All these incidents were clearly caused by human error/failure to do something as safety precautions etc. Mothman was a portent in advance to prevent people from going near the ground zeroes and potentially a warning to those that could have/should have done something to prevent the disasters occuring.
Fear is the greatest motivator.
It's fairly believable that these creatures are trying to warn people rather than hurt them, but an angel? I'm not saying that's any less likely than an alien, a demon, or just some kind of humanoid moth cryptid, but angel certainly isn't the first thing I jump to. They don't sound very angelic in appearance or behavior by any definition; they have huge red eyes, they're completely black, and they screech. That doesn't match up with any description of an angel from any religion, except maybe a fallen angel.
Red eyes,.. Dark fur.... That's just my missus when she's angry with me.... You should see her when I really get on her nerves..... 😂😂

Anyone who has had the pleasure of traveling through Chicago O'Hare Airport knows that the airport itself is a bigger threat than any cryptid could be.
I spent a week there one afternoon. I'll never catch a connecting flight there if there's any way at all to avoid it.

The odds of strangers living in different era's just happening to make-up the same "myth" is a big fat ZERO!

Not just different eras, but different places all across the world too. US, UK, Japan, etc. Plus the extreme similarity between all of these stories is astounding; the way the creatures look, the way they move, the way they respond when people look at them, the way they land and take off into the sky, the way they show up in mass sightings in very specific areas, the way they're followed by disasters/nightmares/threatening phone calls to all who see them. It's an awful lot of consistent details for stories that come from such wildly different time periods and locations. Plus, many of the reports come from rather reputable individuals since they occur in professional environments (like dangerous mines, nuclear plants, airports).
When I first heard of the Mothman the story goes that 2 couples were driving and witnessed it flying over their vehicle

The 3ed story- All this tells me is, if you cheat death death will find you! When it’s your time…it’s your time.
It could be some type of Demon/Devil coming to collect the "Doomed" souls after each accident happens.
But then why does it seemingly deliberately go out of its way to warn and save people? In a lot of these stories, the mothmen put themselves in plain view on purpose, spread their wings to block off dangerous pathways, and supposedly inflict horrible fear on people to get them to run in the opposite direction. That doesn't sound like the behavior of something that just wants to watch people die then huff their soul fumes.
The mothman is not violent! He's had chances to definitely harm & did not!

Nothing is more terrifying than sitting in your car on the ktown bridge looking at the courthouse, backed up in traffic while a semi truck comes down the other lane and you can feel the bridge bouncing in winter. That movie is forever burned in my head. ktown = filming location

First time I ever heard about moth man was 10yrs old used to live in a rural community it had a popular skate park every kid came to it during summer even the native kids from the reservation, I remember one night I was skating home it was around 8pm sun was on its way down sky was red and I was surrounded by nothing but spruce trees on both sides of the road I remember looking quickly up on the right side of the road seeing nothing but a pure black giant looking owl with similar talons like a eagle my mother also had a flip phone at the time that would get these distorted voices also the best comparison I can relate it to was a vulture but again im from northern Canada as i gotten older I’ve spent much time in the woods with my dog much of the nights are calm peaceful our earth definitely holds mystery that much of our selfs don’t know

Of course, with the last incident, it could be the airport officials don't want the videos released because they consider a story like this to be "bad press" and attract a lot of unwanted attention.

The Mothman is quite literally the best thing that ever happened to that town (Point Pleasant, WV) and they continue to capitalize on it to this day.
This is all assuming that IF he was in fact real, that he wasn't the cause of the bridge disaster, of course. Regardless, real or not, the Mothman stories brought a ton of revenue in for that town over the years and, despite being less popular than it once was, it still continues to bring in money and tourism into a town that would never have had that otherwise.
That last story seems like bs. If you really had video of the creature you would've found a way to leak it online without getting fired.
I saw one night a very tall owl standing on a tree stump. The bird was like two feet tall and the stump was about three feet tall. Big orange eyes glowing. Motionless. I spook it and it openend its wings and flew back into the trees. But it was so weird. It's body remained vertical, long legs streched out, as if it was a bipedal creature standing up and sliding through the air. And remained at the same distance from the ground when it took off and went into the trees, it never flew away like a regular bird would. It looked like it spread its wings and glided standing up on some invisible bridge from the tree stump into the trees in a perfect straight line leveled three feet from the ground. It was huge for a bird, with its legs outstreched it easily reached the height of a toddler. It made no sound, no fluttering of wings. Only after it dissappeared in the darkness of the trees that it emitted some blood curling screech like some banshee. Damn creepy owl. Never saw it again.
That's actually all perfectly normal from an owl. They're really strange creatures. This is why one of the most popular theories about mothmen is that they're just misidentified large owls; some species of owl get quite big and their eyes turn red when exposed to artificial light. Some can also fly quite silently, while others can be very very loud. And as you described, the structure of their body actually looks very weird and more humanoid than birdlike when they're stretched out (such as when they're taking off from the ground).
I'm not religious, but everything I've heard about this being makes me wonder if it's an angel of some sort...
Well if you ever read the book of Enoch his descriptions of angels are not your idea of how angels should look, they are quite unusual in description so who knows. Or it's straight from the pits of HELL who knows.
Another vote here for angels. If you wanted to prevent people being killed and could take on any form then making yourself look terrifying to scare people away would definitely be the easiest option. You can't tell humans directly to not do something because they would go right ahead and do that thing. Best to just scare them off.
honestly the only paranormal channel I like, all the rest bring up CGI videos and photo shopped pictures or screenshots from obscure horror movies and games that look realistic and say "ThIS Has to bE REal" you bring the facts about the situation and witness statements not saying whether you think they're real, personally I do believe in omens and think Moth Man is one of them and that they inspired the angel of death and Anubis, he warns people of impending disaster, if you see the moth man in real life and are 100% sure its not a flying fox bat or a vampire bat stay away from where they flew away from

Wierd thing is that Scientist did a study on. Were Butterflies and Moths come from. They traced it to this region where the Mothman has been sighted.

I believe the mothman might simply be an owl 🦉. When light is shinned on their eyes they appear to glow blood red. And people just see glimpses of it so get terrified. People cannot make out for sure the size of the creature once it’s been seen and believe it to be large.
I have seen a lot of owls, and as of yet none of them has ever looked 7ft tall .....owls tend to have small heads
That surely accounts for at least some of the sightings, but there are actual videos of some of them and they definitely don't appear to show an owl. Granted it's hard to tell if a video is fake.
Aside from that, almost all of these stories include the same elements of feeling dread for no apparent reason, having recurring nightmares, and being stalked/threatened by someone after seeing it. The nightmares could be explained by "these are the same people who get so scared of an owl they think it's a monster and run away," but the last part seems particularly weird if these really are just idiots misidentifying owls. Sending people to go stalk and harass anyone who's claimed to see these things, sending them threatening phone calls and uncomfortable visits to make sure they stay quiet, is very odd if these are just misidentified owls.
Could be some kind of endangered or supposedly-extinct large bird that the government knows about and wants to keep hidden for its own protection, that's my best guess.

Intrigued by the strange noises, the stork starts gleefully pecking away at random buttons playing a jumbled mess of random sounds and ends up accidentally dialing the numbers of the victims. Then, when they pick up, the stork, confused by the strange new sound suddenly emanating from the phone, does that weird little dinosaur/bird head turn and just stands there silently hovering its head over the phone’s speaker listening to the person on the other end all scared like “h-h-hello?… Dave, is that you? This isn’t funny!”

I think the most important question to ask about the mothman is: was point pleasant West Virginia even the first place the mothman visited? Could it have visited other places in the days before disaster struck years before point pleasant? We can only speculate.

the last story seems kinda sussed.. when he says the managers of the airport made him delete the video it seems kinda dumb.. Because most of us these days have a synced cloud account that backs up videos and pictures.. And even if they don't have that then the video or picture will remain in his trash bin for thirty days? So I'm sure if this was true then this guy would still have the video.
