    Girl I love your content so much. "Here's what I eat to lose weight" followed by toast, pasta, cereal, and rice. But it all made sense. Thank you! Thank you for being normal human that loves food and also a health-conscious vegan!

  • @SunflowerVegan
    @SunflowerVegan 3 роки тому +26

    Omg 100% yes!!!!! As someone who has struggled with disordered eating most of my life... eating more low caloric density foods and pairing them with things that are normally "forbidden" when losing weight (like potatoes and pasta) really is the key to everything.
    People will say "oh but vegetables and potatoes have carbs and potatoes aren't healthy for you"...and I just sit there and face palm because they are giving up one of the most satiating foods in the world!!! No wonder why they are hungry and eating more to make up for it.
    For anyone who is looking to a better relationship with food or lose weight, please look into caloric density. It has changed my life. I look at eating completely differently now and my binging and restriction cycles are almost non existent now because of it. I have lost weight but I really feel like the bigger win has been the change in mindset.

    • @CheapLazyVegan
      @CheapLazyVegan  3 роки тому +3

      that's amazing!! I totally agree with all that you said! It's so important to understand caloric density!

    • @feifongwong4138
      @feifongwong4138 2 роки тому

      A lot of carbs are only good for you if you are burning them. They provide very little nutrition and are BAD to leave just sitting inside of your body because they damage your cells. This is the same with sugars and most fats, they are only meant for burning. They key is low calorie, *high density.* Meat is the best way to achieve this. I repeat, if you do not walk around and do cardio exercise on a daily basis, DO NOT load up on carbs.

      I started out being vegetarian for about a year, slowly transitioning away. Look up tasty vegan recipes, and as you find some you love, replace replace replace. Check pre-made cheeses and whatever else you crave til you find brands that you love, and then... replace. Same with clothes, supplements etc. Suddenly voila, you are vegan ;)

    I always like your channel because you and I have a similar...palate? I guess haha. You always emphasize getting protein and say it's okay to eat fats to make sure you feel more satiated. And you can totally eat foods that make you feel full and still be strong and healthy. That's super important! I'm glad there are people are saying that AS WELL AS people who are super skinny and eating fruits all day ahaha (no disrespect to them, but that's just not my preference -- everyone is different and should be represented). Been vegan for 3 years, watching your stuff all through the transition from vegetarian :)

      Yep exactly. I will buy one treat every or every other grocery haul (so maybe something like chocolate almond milk and a bag of tortilla chips). Once it's gone it's gone and that is it. Once you eat healthier though you honestly don't miss it as much and a piece of dark chocolate can really help nip those cravings.

    Just to spread the word, it is commonly missed due to lack of information on the box, but most cereal companies source their Vitamin D3 from lanlolin from sheep's wool. General Mills who makes chocolate Cheerios is one of these companies. I hope this info helps anyone who is accidentally eating non-vegan cereal by mistake.

    I don’t usually comment on videos but I binge on UA-cam at least 3 times a day so I really need to be better about this 😉. I must say that it is soooooo REFRESHING to see a fellow vegan who approaches diet and fitness the way you do!!!! I have been following the same approach as you have since 2019 and it’s been not only life-changing but extremely sustainable! I have tried all the vegan diet guru/docs’ plans (pick a name and I def did their plan!) and the food was not the greatest or it was extremely depriving. I think a couple plans I lost weight initially but to only have it come back because it doesn’t address calories in vs calories out (science!!!!) and some of those same plans tell you that you don’t have to exercise at all which is insanity! I go to my local gym daily but I do what I want….whether it be swimming laps or walking around the track- hell, I like doing weights too! I know I am babbling a tad but it really put a smile on my face to see your approach, filling me with hope that others will see this video and say “I can totally do this and not lose my damn mind!“ Thanks again for being the voice of reason and showing others they can have delicious food and optimal health at the same time ❤️❤️❤️

    • @lenisemicolon

      I think their point is you can lose weight without exercising as long as you eat below your maintenance calories. The more you exercise the more you can eat, so for people who love to eat (and want overall health, not just weight loss) that approach makes more sense but it’s not the only way.

    I think it's so great the way you approach weight loss! :) Starvation diets don't really work out long term, the best way to be really healthy is taking it slow and making changes you can stick to that don't make your life miserable (in my opinion). That actually leads to long term weightloss AND health benefits^^ you're a great role model^^

    Rose, I love your tips. I really would love to hear how you navigate alcohol consumption with your lifestyle. It seems like a kind of "dessert" like an either/or situation with chocolate etc. One thing that really frustrates me about food vloggers is that often I feel they portray their lifestyle as completely devoid of things like wine, beer etc when at least *I* feel like most people do consume it regularly? Does that make sense? Not every food vlogger is sober, right? lol. Maybe I need to start a youtube channel where I cook dinner and drink wine???

    Please remind the people in the same breath that overdosing vitamins is also not a good idea. We recently had trouble because some people heavily overdoses vitamin D, after a study showed that most people are Deficient. So if you want to do it right: Go to a doctor, let them check your levels and let him/her tell you the right dose. Stay safe guys

    Try adding some shredded smoked tofu to the chickpea “chuna”. I always cut up some mixed greens with my herb scissors to add some greens to this but I’m going to have to try the parsley, it looks tasty. If someone doesn’t have kelp they can add some finely cut up or crumbled nori.

      I find it so hard to track calories because I cook pretty much every meal at home. It’s easy if all you eat is chicken breast and broccoli, but that gets boring so fast to me
