I think you and your sidekick Junior could give any comedian a run for his money. Love love love the art, the history lesson and, of course, the video.
I saw one of Da Vinci's note books at a big exhibition in London a few years ago. Even though there were rooms and rooms of his art and designs on display, the (small!) notebook really stood out to me and humanised him. He's so legendary that it's hard to remember he was a real man. This was a really great video - thanks.
You are good at this because of your calm, direct delivery, with layered self-awareness and humor. You can make any kind of videos. Keep up the good work. P.S. I recommend "feed two birds with one scone" instead of "kill two birds with one stone". Less violent. And--scones.
I found myself wondering how you came to know so much about Da Vinci’s daily routine. You sure have more patience than me, especially writing backward with your non-dominant hand. That was impressive! Your videos are always interesting, thought-provoking, and entertaining. Kudos!
No way on the art failing bit. Your Mona is awesome! I thought it was gonna be terrible based on what you always say, and then I was laughing so hard because she looked so good and you were making the patch!!! You are so clever and creative and funny. What a joy this video was. Glad you went to sleep too!😊
He gets so much done, great voice, appears successful in many ways, I don't think he gives himself respectful credits! I loved his art piece, loved it.
Not sure if you read about Da Vinci's early years when he worked as a food influencer and wedding planner. His stepdad was a pastry chef who got him into it. One of his inventions was a giraffe-inspired nutcracker so I think you really were channelling the spirit of Leonardo with the inspo for the Alligrator. He also had a quite a marzipan addiction as a young man, and all his earliest sculpting was done with it, until his clients and rats kept eating his work so he had to switch to clay. So I think the Bakewell Slice as his favourite Mr. Kipling might also be genuine otherwordly guidance 👀 He left a diary called the Kitchen Notebooks of Leo da V, which had a chapter called "The Machines I Have Yet to Design for my Kitchen” about 500 years before people wrote cookbooks, so I wanna check it out now to see if the Alligator is there in 🐊
I'm left handed & a complete disaster at art 🎨. Your Mona Lisa was better than I could of done. The kitchen in your home is one of my favorite spots to see, such a lovely, peaceful home.
Ah George, you do make me laugh! lol Thank you for another lighthearted video. I particularly loved the scenery when you were getting your daily exercise. Absolutely gorgeous! You are so blessed to live in such a beautiful place. ♥
I adore your wry sense of humour! Your videos are a must-watch, every time I get a notification a big smile comes across my face. Keep up the good work!
A thought provoking video George with some art thrown in too 🙂 I can relate to mood plummeting when inactive. I'm definitely convinced that movement and the outdoors is the secret weapon (most of the time) to feeling good.
I just gotta say that I really love your videos! They give me some sort of peace of mind. Thank you so much for your time and for presenting us, every time, with such cool, funny and sweet videos. You and Junior are the best!
You had me cracking up throughout the video, especially the "don't want any weirdo's out there gettin' a free show" 😅🤣 I liked your redhead Mona Lisa and thank you for clarifying which one was Da Vinci's 😅 I'm old so I only need 4-5 hrs of sleep You know 50% of us that watched this will be trying to write backwards at least once right?
With 7 hours of sleep, I could see how breaking the remaining waking hours into 4-hour blocks with 20 minute naps could equal 24. But I hate napping during the day. It doesn't make me more productive, it just messes me up.....badly. My friend calls them "power naps" and she loves them. I guess we're not all wired the same.
Now I want an alligrator😂 I like your theory about him sleeping normally, then napping, and I think that science is behind you! I need at least 8 hours to function well! Really enjoyed this video!
You've done Leo proud, GD! Loved the sheep, and Junior's judgments on your cooking style. And I thought your rendering of the Mona Lisa was a brilliant modernist retread. Nice one! 🤓
Thank you George for a delightful attempt at the Big Man! I could barely find a difference between your version of the ML and Leonardo;)) I agree with you about the naps. Remember that in the Renaissance people could not stay up all night without without lots of very expensive candles. There was no street lighting or Central heating. It was easy to do a bit of star gazing early and then to bed. Also Italians still have day time rests. Warmest greetings from an Australian Gran.
Love the whole video. So enjoyed the beautiful countryside footage that you included. Love it! Thank you for taking us along with you on your bike ride. So relaxing, quiet and enjoyable. I Love Junior! ❤ So of course getting to see Junior in most everything you do makes me happy. :)) Thank you for sharing with all of us. Take good care of yourself George and please give Junior a hung.
I love Junior!! He is like "this is so boring watching you cook!!" So cute!!! But I definitely enjoyed your vlog George! Now I'm going to make the potato and leek soup!! Thank you!👏👏👏👏👏😻
Patchy!! 💕I loved this video!! You have such a great sense of humor. I was totally entertained and sad when the video ended. 🙋🏼♀️and now its time for me to go to 😴
Your sense of humor gets me every single time ~ you are such a breath of fresh air!!!! Nope, I do not htink anyone could survive on 2 hours of sleep a night ~ I used to work with a fellow who only slept 4 hours a night....hmmm, I wonder if he is still with us??? I "sleep" 9-10 hours a night ~ it's in quotations because I get up a lot to pee.....so, who knows how much sleep I get! Thanks for the video George ~ it's always great to see you! Have a wonderful day. I love you.
Your Mona Lisa is ace! I was listening to the “You’re Dead To Me” podcast episode on Leonardo last night. I assumed when they were discussing his handwriting and said he wrote back to front that they meant he wrote from right to left on the page and not actually wrote the words backwards. That’s nuts if he actually did that! He would have had to get more than 2 hours sleep a day, surely? Loved Junior’s wee yawn. And…you taught me how to chop leeks properly. 👍🏻😊😁
Great fun video episode, Patchy. I really enjoy your channel. Please keep up the great work. May Gob bless you and your family always in your life journey.
That was cool. Coincidentally, I'm left-handed too. I liked the cartoony face you drew on your recreation of the Mona Lisa. I try to get 7-8 hours of sleep a night, sometimes with a nap or two.
Your painting made me confused about which was the real one and which was the fake, and then you made me smile with the "Godfather" film that was a real cartoon of a show. Still, you made my evening, thank you, George.
I actually have an old 1800's dated cook book my grandmother gave me called "Housekeeping in old Virginia" I have an old recipe for bread to make out of the yeast and I have an old recipe for a Sally Lund bun I'll write it down for yah and you can decide if you wanna try and make it since you love to bake. Knead half an hour. When it has risen light, handle lightly, put into a cake mould and bake without a second kneading. now if you can understand those fancy talking instructions have fun baking! lol!
I don’t sleep well at all, I averaged around 4.5 hours a night last week and only about 3.5 hours the week before, I don’t function very well so I’m pretty sure that DaVinci must have slept well at night too. I now have a hankering for leek and potato soup but sadly only have ingredients for spiced carrot soup 😂 I really don’t blame you for hiding your feet on the video, one of my friends got some very weird messages on instagram after posting a photo of her foot in a splint after breaking her ankle!

I hope you do not mind if I join you on your journey. Junior seems to think you are an odd ball. I think that is a very high compliment. Thank you for sharing your world. See you in the next one.

I love the clarity and definition of your videos. They’re so pleasing to the eye. I love your soothing voice and accent as well. Our Texas accents are far different from yours. *sigh* 😂
Really enjoyed this video - so entertaining! I liked your Mona Lisa the best!LOL That Aligrator idea is brilliant 🤣I'm 60 and I do a lot of road cycling, mountain biking and walking and I work full time so I find a good 8 hours is essential for optimum performance.
Love your dry sense of humor. The pasta and soup looked really delicious and made me hungry. The lambys were sooo cute! I think he probably slept a normal amount and had naps. 2 hours of sleep is really unhealthy.
Thanks for making me laugh. I love your sense of humor and I love your cat. I've never been diagnosed with any form of mental illness. I've been self employed for over 30 years. I do not take drugs - recreational or prescription, but something very interesting happened to me while living in a very rural area (off grid, catchment water, no TV, radio or internet) on Big Island in Hawaii. Great! Such a nice video george..thank you..i wonder if it is true..the sleep patterns? It just does not seem possible...i truely appreciate who you are!❤
George, I bet someone wants to buy your version of Ms. Mona Lisa. BTW she wasn't Scottish so the red hair doesn't quite work. I hope your leek and potato soup was good. One way to reduce spilling the cut veg all of the stove is to cut the veg up on a flexible light plastic cutting mat (available at Dollar type stores) and a bench scraper (used for bread making and scooping up ingredients off a counter). The cutting mat bends easily so it's easier to transfer food to a pot, or you can help guide it in using a steel or plastic bench scraper. Lee Yuan Kew was the first Prime Minister of Singapore and is considered the father of modern Singapore; he also was bad at art, so he developed his communication skills instead. He turned swampy poor Singapore into a first-world amazing city/state in 25 years!
George ... you never failed art in school because "teachers" are just teachers !!! . (for right or for wrong.. for better or for worse) .... i see them as a fraternity mate 🙂
My second son is ambidextrous. When he was small he used to write backward like Leonardo with his left hand. Then he would switch the pencil to his right hand and write the correct way. I would get whole pages with the lines going every which way, because he would just change hands as one got tired of writing. He finally settled on writing with his left hand and doing more mechanical type things with his right hand.
George, your dry humor is hilarious. I don’t believe Da Vinci functioned on 2 hours of sleep. I need 8 hrs. What did you put in your soup other than leeks and potatoes ? What kind of broth and seasoning ? Thank you.
I am with you no one can survive on that little sleep. Need at least 6 hours to function. I did enjoy your analogy. Picture on the left winner. ....Potato leek soup one of my favorites. Yum.

As for sleep, I get 8-9 hours of sleep and I feel horrible if I get less than 8 for sure!
for taking a shot from above, do you use tripod or what?
what does Junior eat, she looks like a furry baloon to me.
I think someone pretending to be you messaged me in the comments

Junior would steal the spotlight He needs his own UA-cam channel. The adventures of Scotland's most cutest Kitty 😺😻!
By the way, how much sleep does Junior need?

Junior probably lives his life opposite of DaVinci's -
4 hours of sleep, 20 minutes awake😂

I'm left handed & a complete disaster at art 🎨. Your Mona Lisa was better than I could of done. The kitchen in your home is one of my favorite spots to see, such a lovely, peaceful home.
Your vlogs are so pure, minimalistic and arty... Love it! ❤
I think the second option is far more likely: 20 minute breaks throughout the day and then extended sleep at night.
Ah George, you do make me laugh! lol Thank you for another lighthearted video. I particularly loved the scenery when you were getting your daily exercise. Absolutely gorgeous! You are so blessed to live in such a beautiful place. ♥

Love your sense of humour
Junior watching over the proceedings on the counter is the best :)
Sally-Lunn bread:
1 quart of flour
1 teaspoon full of salt
1 tablespoon full of white sugar
Rub in a heaping tablespoonful of butter and lard in equal parts
then rub in an Irish potato, mashed fine
half a teacup of yeast
3 eggs well beaten
make up the dough to the consistency of light bread dough.
with warm water in winter, and cold in summer. Knead half an hour.
When it has risen light, handle lightly, put into a cake mould and
bake without a second kneading.
now if you can understand those fancy talking instructions have fun baking! lol!
I enjoy these "daily routine" vids! 😊
Glad to hear it :)
Please George, we need a printable of that Mona Lisa of yours 😂!
I don’t sleep well at all, I averaged around 4.5 hours a night last week and only about 3.5 hours the week before, I don’t function very well so I’m pretty sure that DaVinci must have slept well at night too. Loving your dry jokes in this one, makes me smile :-)
That was one smooth segue into the sponsorship. I saw it coming, but still smooth.
Your drawing is tremendously better than anything I could have done.
I'm about to see a 6th doctor for insomnia. Without meds, I can only sleep 4 hours max. Haha thank you! Aw wow sorry to hear that. Really hope you find a resolution for your troubles.

Yum.
