From someone old enough to be your granny a couple of times over George, you are an amazing man. I had a boyfriend when we were both 28 and I was his FIRST girlfriend. He was amazing in all ways and my impression of you is that you’re very much like him. You’re smart to not be rushing into anything meanwhile achieving all kinds of good things. Thanks for sharing so much of your private life and btw I, as many of your comments indicate, also find your voice, accent and mannerisms exceedingly relaxing.

I am going to show your channel to my 13 year old grandson, who was so badly bullied at school that he is now homeschooled...kind of. He loves designing houses, interiors in particular so he may enjoy your tiny house renovations. He is also a cat lover, but his only friends are online, so he is lonely.I believe hearing your story may help him, he is clever and caring and deserves a life he enjoys, like yours.
So sorry this happened to your grandson.😔 I hate bullies and it's so awful they get away with it. I hope your grandson finds a better group of friends. Church is a good place to start.😊
You're a good man George Dunnett...and wise beyond your years. Appreciate your calm demeanor, especially compared to all the UA-camrs who scream loudly for attention. Well played.
I think the autism question came up because you have the vibe of a quiet, kind person who had a dedicated interest that seemed to involve being alone for long periods. I am on the spectrum and know lots of other people who are from grad school (which is an Asperger’s magnet). They are generally (but not exclusively) introverted, kind, and have strong interests that they often do alone. It can feel lonely to be on the spectrum so when we see a public figure we like, who has some of those characteristics, we wonder if they are “like us.” If so, it can be a self esteem boost to know that someone whose work we enjoy is in the same complicated, sometimes lonely boat. But it’s also fine that you aren’t, I like your channel just as much of course :) It’s just nice to see others out in the wild sometimes :)
Yeah I get this too. First thing I thought was that he may be on the spectrum tbh, not at all a bad thing. I myself am autistic and was diagnosed at 23. Sometimes people can go their entire lives remaining 'undetected' by heavily masking their autism. Also many of my mental health issues (social anxiety, depression, ADHD) were all linked to my autism and in my opinion precursors to the eventual ASD diagnosis. I understand that he struggles a lot with his phobia and anxiety so it's possible, but we can't really assume I guess.
You might consider rescuing a kitten or cat from a shelter. They have every style cat you can imagine. If you did rescue one, you’d be saving one from certain death. And.rescue animals are incredibly grateful the rest of their lives. They just seem to know what you’ve done for them.😊
@@Patchy Nothing to be ashamed of at all. I could not do an online degree because of procrastination and inability to focus on work by myself. It's just a different way of achieving the same goal, especially now since the pandy it's more normalized and logical for a lot of people I think. Congrats on all the hard work you did and all that matters is what you learned/what you got out of it in the end.
It's really good to get to know about you, Patchy. I really enjoy your videos and am a happy subscriber. I look forward to seeing much more content about your renovating project with your brother, another abandoned building renovating project, and more tours of tiny houses and other places in Scotland. I'm sure that almost any ideas you have for content will be most interesting. I'm so glad that you're a normal and pretty cool guy, Patchy. I'm much older than you but have had an interesting life and career as an attorney. These days I'm retired from my day job and concentrate my time on three non-profit charitable groups for which I volunteer. I pray 🙏 that you'll continue to have many more years of good health, happiness, love ❤️, prosperity, peace and spiritual fulfillment. Stay well, Patchy!
Damn this was actually really interesting and more entertaining than I thought it would be. I loved watching junior climb on your window in the background too lol
Shouldn't ever be embarrassed about studying at the Open University - find it's more highly regarded than you may think. Takes a lot of effort to motivate yourself to study outside more traditional avenues, and lots of employers should and do respect that. Cool channel, found it through the tiny house and enjoy your videos.
@@Patchy The same snide comments exist for people at newer universities vs Russell Group universities, and again for people at Russell Group universities vs Oxbridge or very specific institutions. Certainly a hierarchy. Then you look at the alumni, and the damage they've done to the UK, and start to realise how little the pecking order has to do with competence, intelligence or overall achievement. Be proud of what you've achieved, and balls to naysayers.
I don't think George will ever need an employer: he is far too independent and self-motivated and has already achieved more than many do in a life-time. Good luck to him.
@@Patchy I was wondering if you might be interested in using communication buttons with her, like @billispeaks for example. Would be one way for her to get her own channel in any case 🙃
Hi, George. Wow, I didn't expect you to pay any attention to my question. Thank you so much for taking time and showing respect for complete strangers. That's impressive. My conjecture was because you have a quaint/quirky and at the same time endearing way of expressing yourself, because you never try to make an impression or win your viewers over, which is such a breath of fresh air, because your every video is pure quality and precision. You don't ramble on, your video is just perfect and on point, never too long or too short and so aesthetically pleasing. I honestly thought that you were a very talented tech guy with artistic flair to boot. And then you mentioned you had anxiety. And then you did really well baking (not forgetting your house renovation project). And you seem really comfortable alone. That's my train of thoughts. Not sure if it makes any sense to you. I certainly need to learn from you to express myself with less words. All the best of luck on your journey.
No problem, Steve! That's all totally reasonable and I appreciate your kind words. Expressing myself in as few words as I can is part of my goal when writing scripts/editing the videos, so there is a bit of 'behind the scenes' stuff going on there to achieve it haha.
George, have no regrets. There is a time and place for everything and everyone. If for some reason something is drowning you, it's smart to drop it and move forward. Start (or restart) as many times as necessary. You are smart, honest, polite with a sweet sense of humour. You should be proud of yourself and your accomplishments. I wish you the best!
Hell, I’ll be the girlfriend! I have too many hobbies and want to know how to make everything, I basically never like leaving the house, and I will definitely talk too much bc I have a panic disorder and talking distracts me from my own thoughts….also I’m American, BUT OTHER THAN THAT, I’m a total catch. 🤣
Dont be ashamed of your achievements in online degree. My university in australia is very proud of offering online options so students can choose to attend lectures on campus or watch them on video stream. ...or both. I often found it beneficial to do both for some difficult subjects. Its a flexible new mode of study. Time saved in travel can be better utilised in extra studies.
Ah that's cool and good point! With the way the world has changed as a result of Covid it's probably not looked down upon anymore, but at the time when I did it there was a bit of a stigma around it.
I live in the U.S. and have quite enjoyed your tiny home videos. My grandson had such high anxiety just like you. At the age of 16 he wrote to the county education board to complete his GED. Which is an exam to demonstrate that one has obtained the knowledge to complete high school. They gave him permission. It took him a couple of months to work up to actually taking them and scored high enough to also earn college credit. I’m sure he would not have done as well if he had to continue to attend school. He was home schooled for 6-9th grade, tried to go back to regular school and it was a disaster. He does not do well in performance based education, also due to his anxiety. He is exceedingly intelligent and loves to learn. Which he demonstrated by doing so well on the GED. You seem very intelligent and well spoken, so I think your anxiety very much got in your way. It is interesting to note that he started streaming game play, then got into developing avatar art and programming them. He is now 17 and wants to take digital art courses and programming. I shared all this because of your comment on anxiety and wanted people to understand that there are several pathways to success and that anxiety is so very real. You seem to have settled into a path that works for you and very glad you share.
Isn’t it sad that with all the complex and varied learning styles, kids have to shrink themselves down to fit in some basic little box? I’m glad your grandson had great support, so many give up and get shamed for their challenges
@@marlajacques6947 luckily for him, I had similar difficulties and so did my son. So I was finally prepared to meet the challenge of helping him. What’s really sad is the shaming, from teachers and peers. He has a brilliant mind. We took a walk the other day and he started telling me of a science history show he watched about the discovery of the last 5 elements on the periodic table. Names, dates and circumstances, but if you had told him he would have an exam on it later all that info gets jumbled.
Ah sorry to hear that your son struggled with anxiety, but kudos to him for not letting it hold him back! Sounds like you were a strong support for him so well done to you as well. Appreciate your kind words about me as well haha.
There’s a learning pattern called dysgraphia that gets overshadowed by the adhd umbrella. Both of mine have it, it’s a written output issue which makes school work unbearable even though they know how to
I’ve struggled throughout my life, from aged 11 with my mental health. Life is unpredictable at the best of times and disruptive at the worst. Your channel is like a breath of fresh air in your honest, dignified approach to how you have faced your various challenges. For me, it’s about finding a sense of being no matter what life chucks my way. Your experiences are relatable to so many of us who love your channel. Keep on keeping on. 😊😻
I have certainly never have thought of the Open University degree as 'less than'. They are well thought of particularly for people who are working and need to study alongside their work. The interesting is that now a lot of the content of full time university courses are online too.
Really surprised to find someone with such a similar school experience. Emetaphobia and panic made me leave my secondary school classes at least 2 or 3 times a day, and then things continued in the same pattern throughout studying Psychology at Uni. Honestly, developing the skills and motivation to teach yourself how to do things independently, without authority figures telling you what to do is a great trait to have and something I feel you gained from everything you have been through. You've done really well for yourself since then and you did it all on your own! Wishing you the best, my fellow anxiety warrior!
Stumbled upon your channel by happy accident. Such intetesting and calming content in a world full of deadlines and noise. Thank you!! PS. Junior is adorable!
I have also had issues with anxiety and panic in my life, and also often feel most comfortable doing introverted, home-y things with my Cat Boys. I suspect that the person who asked about Asperger’s mistook your more introverted tendencies for the autism spectrum. I for one appreciate your quiet, thoughtful, and introverted manner and relate to it very much. The world needs all kinds of people, and what you bring to it with your perspective and experiences is unique and valuable.
Oh, no, don't rush into anything, George. Being single can be so much fun. Enjoy your single life. As for formal education in an institutional setting, meh, it is all just programming , George. I spent years deprogramming myself from what my parents wasted a lot of money on (private university education). Unless you need a specific skill or credentials for a specific reason, you can learn more by reading everything you can get your hands on. Mainstream media is not the only one lying to us. I truly enjoy listening to you, and intrigued that someone so young like Bobby Darin. I didn't think you would know him.
Thanks for sharing and letting your fans know more about you. You are such a soothing presence on UA-cam and your videos are calming and interesting. Cheers~
Wish I could give a triple like to this comment. Your upcoming plans for renovations with your brother and derelict structures sound interesting and you make things simple and fun to watch!
Yes please do another abandoned/derelict house reno! I’ve done a few myself but don’t want to move anymore and finding quality help is very challenging/expensive so I must live vicariously through others to get my fix. Love your channel! You seem like a very smart, down to earth and very interesting person 💛
Junior looking out the window in the background is too cute 😂 and about those kittens they are both adorbs but the chocolate fur kitty is rare. I hope you keep updating on your channel. I just found your channel yesterday about the tiny home you renovated. I really liked it. Maybe someday convert that to an Air BnB. I'm sure people will find it attractive to rent when touring your country . Cheers Patchy
Never worry about doing an OU degree George, many employers value it because it is a difficult thing to achieve especially when running it with a "normal" instead of a student life. Be proud of yourself & your achievements, you've done well.
I would suggest doing videos about simple and normal things for yourself. What kind of food do you like? What is your neighborhood like? Do you live in a large city or a small village? What's it like to live where you live?
Very enjoyable video. One of my mother's bridesmaids did an OU degree and ended up as a professor at a top UK University. As others have said, it shows a real determination to succeed/that you are a self-starter.
Even though you have anxiety you speak very calmly, have different taste in comparison with other people the same age and you seem interestingly different from the usual young adult (even taking into account the music genre you're more into). We don't need to be all the same so whenever people ask you stuff like "do you have asperger's" in the way it was asked just take that as a compliment :) you clearly don't fit in the same box as most people and I find that wonderful.
I also think people ask if he has aspergers because it's really uplifting to see other aspies doing great and being fairly "normal" because there is such a big stigma around autism being like just the severe type. I too have aspergers and it did cross my mind as well if he had it too. I seem "normal" so to speak and no one who knows me would have guessed it. I got excited about the thought that George could be an aspie too because it would kinda "proof" that people on the spectrum can do great things like he has. Definitely think it's a compliment too :) aspies are usually the nicest people
I had the same issue at school, too! I used to ignore it and managed okay, but I wish there was more 'tools' to help back then. I LOVED online learning! It is way more accessible nowadays, and not any stigma I don't think
Ah sorry to hear that, but glad you managed OK! Like you said, I think awareness of mental health issues has become more widespread in the last 10 or so years so hopefully folk struggling with similar things these days are supported better than we were.
George, thank you for sharing yourself with us. I truly enjoy watching your tutorials. By the way there is nothing to be either embarrassed or ashamed of in reference to your education. Like you said school isn't everything. You are well spoken and a contributing member of society. Stay well
"If I'm not bankrupt..." hahahahaha. You actually are pretty funny. I got my question answered and I thank you. I do hope you'll consider doing more of these Q&A's. It does make you more personable to your followers. Another question I would ask is, "Will you be taking from what you learned in filming your current renovated home (good and bad) and use that in filming the next project with your brother?"
Here's a question: when did you become interested in renovations? Was it years back or did you simply wake up one morning and decide that's what you want to do?
So glad to hear that you're far happier now. So well done on the OU degree! Seriously, you don't have anything to be ashamed of - rather the opposite. Many young people would have given up completely on education in your circs. And please be assured that the OU is a very well regarded University and a global leader in its teaching methodologies and quality. (Speaking as a former post 18 educator,)
From someone else old enough to be your grandmother, your are a grand fellow, with a fine cat, and a wide array of talents, not least being that you created this beautiful space as a home. Junior probably will have happy to have a companion cat. She gets on with the family cat, i suppose. I put likes next to many comments, and I wish you well.... Videos like this give a glimpse to people of a larger world than the one they live in (physically, literally). You show us the woods, the countryside, and it does a world of good. Just, thanks, for being who you are.
Interesting question and answer session. So many questions coming from not knowing the scottish personality. We aren't all Billy connelly, but we do have a good sense of humour. We aren't all drunks, aggressive or anti other people (ie anti English as the tabloid press like to push) and we can be quiet , reflective , and loyal friends. What I see in this interview is a bright, gentle, caring man who knows his own mind. Good on ye pal.
Great video, George. You are a very likeable person. Gosh, anyone your age who listens to the music you mentioned is a wise and special person. Seriously, I really mean that. Your kitty is adorable. And you are hilarious.
Impressed with your creativity, very impressed with your intelligence (both academic and emotional), impressed with your study of psychology . . . which I wish every human had the opportunity and guidance to study. Just came across this channel today and am enjoying your style and content. With appreciation and respect, I am now a subscriber. Thanks for sharing your fascinating thoughts and projects.
Scotland is beautiful, your home renovation is beautiful - so happy to hear you're going to try and continue to do more, you have talent for it I think. You're intelligent, well spoken and motivated. Best wishes whatever you choose to do.
I'm from California and I just spent two months in Scotland -- actually all honesty, I was in Northern Ireland and the Republic for 10 days, the Highlands for four days. I loved the area we lived in, Stockbridge, Edinburgh. I absolutely love Edinburgh. The Scots are friendly and so kind and patient! Thank you for your posts -- I've been following you since you put up the post about buying the abandoned building.
Oh my god I’m SO happy to meet a fellow 60s-70s music fan!!! I recognised almost all of the songs in the screenshot of your playlist and I do love them all, too!
I just happened upon your house renovation today and I'm enchanted with you, have since watched several and looking forward to watching more I thought you'd find it interesting to know you've impacted someone in NYC, which is so different in many ways that turn out unimportant in terms of human connection
George, never forget anything. We all have challenges and issues at school and throughout life. I grew up in the 80s and although it was a different time, I admire how you have carved your own path and what you have achieved. Onward and upward is my motto and I think your actions and how you live your life and express yourself is evidence of this!
Youre a treasure! Dont feel you need to share anything you don’t want to though - you don’t owe us anything! You are incredibly special- i wish you the very very best, you are gifted smart and beautifully human!
George should be proud of his accomplishments so far, and we believe he will continue to be successful. He's lucky to have a supportive family and it's great to see him sharing his life with his roommate Companion.
Thank you for sharing some personal information about yourself. Junior cracks me up! When she grabbed your arm and then stretching at the window. She’s adorable 😻
I totally can relate to the part where you talk about your anxiety. Anxiety was a huge problem for me in my teenage years and sitting in class while having a panic attack or just feeling anxious … well, you know how that feels! That was the late 90s/early 2000s and openly talking about mental health problems was not very common.
I just think you're an old soul! My older daughter Ellie reminds me of you. Focussed when you need to be, very much your own person. Hated school, but actually made lifelong friends there. She did fine academically, is musically gifted, but just has not fitted in the the over busy modern world. She struggles with anxiety too. She HAS been diagnosed with Asperger's by one so called expert therapist (Im reminded of your disasterous interaction with one in your teen years). I don't believe she has Asperger's. Society wants everyone boxed and categorised. You just caryy on being YOU. Bravo to the George and Ellie's in this world. You enrich us.
I appreciate how insightful you are and even though I didn’t think you were actually whispering I find it relaxing to listen to you. If you were yelling and trying to motivate me to buy your how to motivational book I would have moved on. You’re doing it just right❤
Your channel is certainly one of my favorites. I like to watch your videos on Monday mornings just before I head out and get the work week started because everything you post is so relaxing and inspiring. Aside from video editing, baking, and home renovations, what are your hobbies? And what’s _your_ favorite way of relaxing?
Love this vid. I made my son watch it. I went through 4 years of college to be a police man only to not do that and go back to school to be a commercial pilot. 25 years later Im still doing that. Its too bad young adults feel pressured to go to college to trade school at a such a young age when there's so much to discover. My son is smart, but not keen on school. This was a good video to show him.
I like your videos 🥰 I recently discovered I am autistic. I can relate to your struggle with school and anxiety. I have a similar calm or soft personality. I have a cat as well ☺️🐈 I also look young for my age. We’re the same age. I am grateful and happy with taking life at my own pace. It is only when I’ve been compared to others that I feel a bit behind. I’ve learned so much this past year about autism and adhd and I hope to become a strong advocate for anyone who feels like they don’t fit in. I am proud to be different 💕♾️🏳️🌈
I love the fact that some of your audience considers gentle, thoughtful and a calm manner means autistic! Thanks for being a good role model for younger men. Also I love that you found a work-around for your aversion to classrooms. Online learning is valid and 'bricks and mortar' universities commonly provide it. Congratulations on getting your education xx
I'm the 300th like, hell yeah! Wanted to say you seem to have a great personality and really appreciate getting to know a little bit about you. You're right dating apps suck and your ideas of meeting a wife sound so cute haha! I'd love to see a day in the life type video or a tour of your village/surroundings in Scotland, though I know you might not want to do it for privacy reasons. Always loved Scotland and wanted to live there.
From the first time you popped up on my UA-cam I have enjoyed your demeanor, you have a great vibe and sense of humor, i usually burst out in laughter at some point while your chatting with us, plus obviously your a Scot so what's not to love. I believe you speak to a plethora of views, young and not so young, and certainly from all walks of life. Those of us who are still with you probably appreciate your honesty and openness and hope you continue to do what you're doing so we can be part of it. It's been 40 years since I graduated and the past few years have been catching up with old high school mates, one of the biggest surprises has actually been seeing how much teenage boys changed. I think you have a great chance at hitting 5 foot 8!!
To the “are you happy “ question… that was a well spoken response. It is hard sometimes to have a heart of thankfulness, but having thankfulness helps to see everything around you in a positive perspective which helps keep us happy and full of joy.
We don’t find happiness in just living a life to see what we can get for ourselves but in what we can do for others. When we help others this makes us happy. I don’t think we are meant to live alone. I also feel we need god in our life to find true happiness
While some people can give ( angry? ) feedback, based in just one word of some minuscule detail, as an whole I just realized that You are maybe the most honest and open person I have seen in UA-cam. People can be upset, of some one mentions, money, love, gay/strait, religion etc, but I feel it really fresh that You can talk all. There was one guy at bbc grand design that was really inspiring. Maybe You could get something by watching his story. He was just average guy with nothing, and wanted wife home and family. He used his imagination and got work of some king of forester or game keeper in natural sanctuary. Build home at special permission and was so enchanting that found mate thru publicity
I felt the exact same way in high school-I could hardly stand to sit through an entire class because of my anxiety. Refreshing to hear that someone else had a similar experience. And looking back now, school is absolutely not the be-all-end-all. All best from Texas!
My favorite UA-cam channels I stumbled upon by accident, because there was a click of connection to the content. I totally get why you wouldn't reveal your other channels; you are correct, it could be a very negative thing. I would make the same decision (if I were a YT'er, which I'm _not!_ Just continue being you!
I love the style of your videos - very calming, with the right amount of relaxing music and voiceovers - which you've inspired me to do more of in my videos. Looking forward to more tiny home tours and cat videos!
You are such a calm lovely person 🤗 I enjoy being on my own cause busy places can drain my energy sometimes, it is ok to want to be by yourself too. I think cat lovers are like that 😅 You seem to have the heart in the right place. Wish you the best, blessings!
I would suggest very simple sightseeing videos. You live in a part of the world that most of us will never see or visit. For this reason a great many of us would enjoy seeing your neighborhood or simply some of the local sites
Good call! It gets quite grey in Scotland towards the end of autumn/into the winter so it'll likely be spring/summer before I get out and about filming more sightseeing-esque videos.
@@Patchy I live in Northwest Ohio. We have a lot of Gray days As Winter sets in. In fact it's a Gray cold day right now. But people would still enjoy a tour
George, I stumbled upon your channel and have found it fascinating. First, like you, I grew up with a white patch on the side of my head. Needless to say I received a lot of comments like “did you spill paint on your head” and nickname likes “Spot”, “Stripe” and even “Skunkhead” . Second, my grandfather was from Scotland (Dundee) and without going into a long story, I always have felt a connection with all things Scottish (and even found cousins there!) You have a phenomenal channel and I encourage you to keep up with it. There are certain qualities you possess that attract people. Lastly, regarding questions… would be interested in learning more about your cage fighting experience. I’m probably not the only one, but I find it curious that a guy so even keeled and kind as you has been involved in such an extreme violent sport (at least that’s my impression!). Best wishes, Bill
Lol! Your cat was hilarious throughout the video, in the background, maybe trying to catch a fly in the window, or reaching up to look out at something?? Such a sweetheart! Pleased to hear you are thinking of getting another cat - they will be great company for each other! Do you have a cat flap? The great outdoors beckons! It looked like you are on quite a quiet road....so should be safe enough :)
I love learning just about anything, so I found it interesting that our watch time affects the You Tuber. I usually watch all of the videos I click on, or at least 80%... I would hate to hurt someone's channel, because I respect the time you all put into making your videos. I look forward to watching you through a mist of fluff when you get your long haired kitty! I cat sit my son's two cats and the long haired kitty has a love hate relationship with the brush. She starts out purring and if I persist too long, she can go so far as to hiss and spit. (Only when I'm determined to get a tough area smooth. I try to be as gentle as possible, but she is just done with it.) A daily brushing keeps them beautiful- their hair oils are evenly distributed and mats don't form. I'll stay tuned!
Hi George, very nice that you share some personal insights. Junior is so cute as always! I like to listen to your voice and Scottish accent a lot. It is so calming, relaxing and - due to your sense of humor - entertaining, like visiting an old friend. That’s why I appreciate all of your content, no matter if it‘s about tiny houses, cats or cooking stuff. Always a pleasure! Have you ever been abroad? If so, where and when? Did you ever go to London or Dublin? I‘m curious about the new house project with your brother. A couple of years ago we completely renovated an old farmhouse in the heath in northern Germany. I‘m always interested in such projects. And yes we give two cats a home… 😻
Thank you!! To answer your questions, the only non-English speaking country I've been to is France. I've been to London and Dublin. Really didn't like London.
“Regret and fear are twin thieves who would rob us of today. So, stop pacing the aisles and counting the miles. Instead, climb more mountains, eat more ice cream, go barefoot oftener, swim more rivers, watch more sunsets, laugh more and cry less. Life must be lived as we go along. The station will come soon enough”…….. I have always loved this sentiment and it truly does describe the station as our final destination, it's the journey that counts.
I got to know you a little bit when you were rehabbing your home. And you did such a wonderful job. Your home is beautiful. Best wishes for you. Thanks for sharing yourself.😊

Have you already told us all why you have a lot of white hair in just one place on your head? Totally unimportant, but I'm so curious.

So sorry this happened to your grandson.😔 I hate bullies and it's so awful they get away with it. I hope your grandson finds a better group of friends. Church is a good place to start.😊
1994 baby? I am too ❤😇
Bless him🙏🥰
You're a good man George Dunnett...and wise beyond your years.
Also, people notice the unusual way the lad moves.
i know exclusively extroverted people on the spectrum so im pretty sure it's just your own vibe dude
@@tatianaes3354 He moves fine. What are you talking about?
@@tatianaes3354 You can't just say someone's movement is abnormal without explaining further. I'm just confused, that's all.
You might consider rescuing a kitten or cat from a shelter. They have every style cat you can imagine. If you did rescue one, you’d be saving one from certain death. And.rescue animals are incredibly grateful the rest of their lives. They just seem to know what you’ve done for them.😊
You should totally be proud of your degree! Doing it on your own takes a lot of self motivation!
I'm glad I did it but think it's just the stigma around online degrees that makes me keep a bit quiet haha.
@@Patchy I had no idea there was any stigma. It’s definitely a big achievement.
Oi! I’ve got a Psychology degree from the OU 😮
My son’s your age and he loved LaLa Land too.
I believe in you George, you can definitely get to 5 foot 8 in the next five years if you try your hardest
That means a lot thank you
Damn this was actually really interesting and more entertaining than I thought it would be. I loved watching junior climb on your window in the background too lol
Thank you!! And I'm trying to get her involved as much as I can as co-host haha.
You're a far more interesting person than most big UA-camrs. I hope you continue to create content like this.
I totally agree!
That's true! I think it's just some of the snide comments I got in the beginning about taking that route that stuck with me. Thank you!
Open university is fantastic. I have 3 other degrees and post grad qualifications but am doing OU maths and physics for fun.
I don't think George will ever need an employer: he is far too independent and self-motivated and has already achieved more than many do in a life-time. Good luck to him.
Nothing wrong with an OU degree My Friend. Shows a level of commitment way beyond most, also some of the best people I've worked with have OU degrees.
Junior has gotten big. Glad you shared so much with us but we were all here for the cat. 🤣🤣🐈🐈🐈
I think I'll have to make her a channel for herself...
Junior isn't junior anymore lol
@@Patchy yes pleaseee! ❤
@@Patchy I was wondering if you might be interested in using communication buttons with her, like @billispeaks for example. Would be one way for her to get her own channel in any case 🙃
George, just keep on being your authentic self. 😊
Your manner of speaking is pure ASMR.
Ah this is the question about autism? Yes I wondered this too, for all those beautiful qualities and for the challenges George has mentioned at times.
@Felipe Lavratti very angers me that people judge people for being shy and keeping to themself. Don't mean they are autistic
SMH.
What is with everyone's attraction to labels or highly personal questions.
No problem, Steve! That's all totally reasonable and I appreciate your kind words. Expressing myself in as few words as I can is part of my goal when writing scripts/editing the videos, so there is a bit of 'behind the scenes' stuff going on there to achieve it haha.
@L Wilson Hugs from a fellow-aspie (also high functioning but ohh so socially awkward, LOL)
I love the way Junior chooses her own way of participating in your video🥰 Thank you for answering the questions.
Junior is just the most adorable -- and a good companion for you, George ! The girlfriend will show up when you least expect it!
I agree! And I don't know what to say to that second part haha.
Employers look at OU because studying whilst working or living life shows a great character
Same here with my 15 year old daughter. My heart break for these kids. I am very surprised to hear she’s not alone.
Cheers~
Thank you so much!
@@Patchy It is very calming and interesting to listen to you. You have a lot of wisdom and common sense. I enjoy the variety of your videos.
I understand anxiety, it's not easy. I love your honesty and humor. You're a very smart young man!
You are the only person with whom I feel such a personal connection, it's like you're another me, bro, I wish I lived in the UK
Well that's a nice thing to read! Appreciate ya.
Never worry about doing an OU degree George, many employers value it because it is a difficult thing to achieve especially when running it with a "normal" instead of a student life. Be proud of yourself & your achievements, you've done well.
That's true! In hindsight I shouldn't have played it down and would genuinely recommend it as a path for others in similar situations.
I would suggest doing videos about simple and normal things for yourself. What kind of food do you like? What is your neighborhood like? Do you live in a large city or a small village? What's it like to live where you live?
Noted! All good ideas!
Hi! I’m currently in 9th grade and struggling with the same thing. Do you guys have any tips maybe to kinda get over it?
I'm looking forward to your renovation series with your brother. You did an awesome job on your house so maybe this is your calling.
Thank you! I'm hoping it all turns out well!
George, thank you for sharing yourself with us. I truly enjoy watching your tutorials. By the way there is nothing to be either embarrassed or ashamed of in reference to your education. Like you said school isn't everything. You are well spoken and a contributing member of society. Stay well
If you have any other questions, just drop a comment and I'll do my darn tootenist to respond!
😘
❤️🇺🇸 make sure none of the plant leaves r poisonous to your kitty. Noticed the playing and chewing!😉
Junior was putting on a show of her own in the window. 🥰🐾
From someone else old enough to be your grandmother, your are a grand fellow, with a fine cat, and
a wide array of talents, not least being that you created this beautiful
space as a home. Junior probably will have happy to have a companion cat. She gets on with the family cat,
i suppose. I put likes next to many comments, and I wish you well....
Videos like this give a glimpse to
people of a larger world than the one they live in (physically, literally). You
show us the woods, the countryside,
and it does a world of good. Just, thanks, for being who you are.
A beautiful thing to say. ❤
Many people choose online University classes these days due to the flexibility. I'm glad that you were able to do this!
Yeah it was definitely the right choice for me. In fact, it became the normality during lockdown huh.
@@Patchy Congrats on your degree! Nothing wrong with online and OU is legit!
Haha nah you can thank my Mum for that. Think she passed on a lot of her music taste to me.
Love your humour, some pretty subtle and unexpected jokes here and in other videos as well :')
Thank you haha! :)
Nothing embarassing about having a psychology degree, I think that's really cool.
Oh my gosh your cat was standing up in the window 😂❤️🐈 I love 60’s-70’s music as well. It would be cool to see another abandoned building renovation.
I'm glad she's adding something to the videos 😸 And there'll be more coming soon. :)
Oh my god I’m SO happy to meet a fellow 60s-70s music fan!!! I recognised almost all of the songs in the screenshot of your playlist and I do love them all, too!
I just happened upon your house renovation today and I'm enchanted with you, have since watched several and looking forward to watching more
I thought you'd find it interesting to know you've impacted someone in NYC, which is so different in many ways that turn out unimportant in terms of human connection
George, never forget anything. We all have challenges and issues at school and throughout life. I grew up in the 80s and although it was a different time, I admire how you have carved your own path and what you have achieved. Onward and upward is my motto and I think your actions and how you live your life and express yourself is evidence of this!
Cheers Nicola!!

George should be proud of his accomplishments so far, and we believe he will continue to be successful. He's lucky to have a supportive family and it's great to see him sharing his life with his roommate Companion.
Your a great advert for a young Scotsman young man and am in my 50's! Keep at it.
I appreciate your dry humor and quick wit in these videos. Thanks for sharing a part of yourself with strangers, haha.
There are many of us 'old folks' out here that wish they had your talent and skills when we were younger! Great job!
A chat with you is always nice ...:)))
Thank you for sharing some personal information about yourself. Junior cracks me up! When she grabbed your arm and then stretching at the window. She’s adorable 😻
You have an honesty that is refreshing
You’re doing it just right❤
Haha cheers Scott!
UA-cam algorithm brought me here., I'm binge watching your videos now and i enjoying it so far. Love from the Philippines 🇵🇭.,!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks!
Thank you so much Laurel! :)
Loved getting to know you a little bit more. Excited for new renovation videos.
The vibe you give off is so positive, down to earth and sweet.
Idk, you made me tear up when talking about your opinion and your path.
Thank you! And I might make some day in the life type videos at some point. :)
Thanks Patricia! Appreciate you watching/being supportive. And I'll keep my fingers crossed on the 5ft 8 front...
Sucks doesn't it! Hope you're doing well now.
Good going George you handled this with style and grace. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
My favorite UA-cam channels I stumbled upon by accident, because there was a click of connection to the content. I totally get why you wouldn't reveal your other channels; you are correct, it could be a very negative thing. I would make the same decision (if I were a YT'er, which I'm _not!_
Just continue being you!
1:33 was that a sudden attack 😂😂
I love the aestethic and the content of your videos. You seem such a nice person. Wish you the best

I love the style of your videos - very calming, with the right amount of relaxing music and voiceovers - which you've inspired me to do more of in my videos. Looking forward to more tiny home tours and cat videos!
Thank you!!
Please don't try and change to please someone else. You are a great person with a big heart. I can tell by the way you love your cat.
You are such a calm lovely person 🤗 I enjoy being on my own cause busy places can drain my energy sometimes, it is ok to want to be by yourself too. I think cat lovers are like that 😅 You seem to have the heart in the right place. Wish you the best, blessings!
thank you for sharing, your personal videos are so comforting for some reason
Glad you like them!
You seem like such a kind and gentle person, I would love to have a friend like you in my life! 🥺❤️
So chill- you and kitty
Your cat is something. She’s truly a magical creature.
I try to be as gentle as possible, but she is just done with it.)
A daily brushing keeps them beautiful- their hair oils are evenly distributed and mats don't form.
@@Patchy What about London did you not like? And I think a nature-y forearm tattoo would suit you
“Regret and fear are twin thieves who would rob us of today.
