He was described as someone who when he ran into difficulties did not try harder or do more work, instead HE SLOWED DOWN, HE WAITED. This video was inspiring.
I love these videos, I just wish more of us had the opportunity to really work out what an optimal routine is for us. A tradition job has set hours, and it doesn’t allow room for anything other than “productivity” during those hours. By the time the work day is over we’ve been overstimulated and have decision fatigue because we don’t get to rest or walk through the day as Einstein did.
Man you're a true influencer, you always make me rethink on the small things, although living in 2 completely different realities! Love from Mozambique
Quantity over quality is very much attached to America's idea of productivity (and pretty much everything else), in my opinion. Feel like in Europe, when it comes to all area's of life, not just work, the emphasis is more often on quality - i.e. work intensively and fully immerse yourself in what you are doing, but when you're off, you're off. I think this is why a lot of European countries (see the Scando nations) can achieve the same results as the US in terms of production, tech., etc., but with reduced working hours and higher quality of life for the average employee. The focus is not on doing a lot, but being efficient and doing it well - within short(er) periods of time. Just my observation.
Productivity per hours worked actually are the same in Western Europe and the USA. But the US guys works too much (in a day, with less vacation, and in a lifetime), so they have a higher GDP per person employed and more GDP per capita. I think in the Einstein case, and some other big names in all societal areas, what they trade is a good flow of solid, career oriented results, for a high-risk strategy of trying to deliver big. He could have ended up not as a professor, but he went for big ideas. I'd say that, actually, the US society is way more sympathetic to risk taking and weirdos than Europe.
This is quite interesting but I think fundamentally the reason for is the currently prevalent capitalist philosophy of the west to maximise wealth. Back around the enlightenment times, the prevalent humanist philosophy seemed to allow for the main goal in culture to be to find the truth and the consequence was a great amount of big ideas and advancements in mathematics, science and philosophy as well as great art, literature and music. It makes sense that the prevalent philosophical goals in the culture would be what drives the types and ideas and creativity. European society just seems pathetic compared to what is was a few centuries ago. US society only seems to be sympathetic to risk taking insofar as it is to the end goal of creating wealth. All the innovation and ingenuity coming from America seems to be limited to this. I don't believe any great (ambiguous word but I'm too tired to elaborate) advancements in any area can be seen without a cultural shift away from belief in the notion that greatest good humanity can create is material wealth and comfort and such a change in ideology in the West would take a lot to happen.
@@hewmat8758 You’re diving more into the philosophy of “worth” than a critique of capitalism. Even with your negative view of capitalism, it’s still hard to argue against the US being among the top 5% in terms of humanitarianism despite their tendency towards profit and quantity/quality. There’s a reason the most profitable jobs here are also the most beneficial to society, like medicine and engineering.
I love how you mentioned that Einstein was nonconformist. There is a lot of pressure in today's world to fit in, or be like everyone else to be liked. I think social media has a lot to do with it, monitoring 'Likes' and what not.
wow nate, you're unique. i love how you've transformed over the years and found out for yourself that social life and working should be balanced to live joyfully.

that sponsor spot was god tier marketing, using a part of the video where the viewer's attention is high, putting a clip where every second matters so people wont skip, and connect morning brew in their mind to a task most people do in the morning, so they will be reminded of it amazing.
Yess! I love this series. This is my most favourite one yet. I can really relate to what you were talking about in this video. I too used to think that pulling all-nighters and burning out was a badge of honour. I used to think naps were useless and that resting was only reserved for the "weak". But, I was forced to slow down during the pandemic. I realised that I was so much more creative and productive when I prioritized rest, my mental and physical health above work. Setting boundaries at work and prioritizing rest has definitely been a challenge for me but I think we all need to realise that we can only serve the world as much as we are able to serve ourselves. Although I still struggle with stopping myself from falling back into the hustle culture mindset. I haven't uploaded a video on my channel in a few weeks since my full-time job has been quite full on lately. I feel guilty about it but I know that I shouldn't push myself. How do you deal with these types of challenges? What do you do to rewire your brain to always put rest and your health before productivity?
With so much drama heavy UA-cam content, or content filled with negativity and vitriol, your content is always welcome and a nice reminder of what living well looks like. Thanks for your content.
It's been so inspiring watching your journey of self discovery, especially since we're all in our own journeys. It's so easy to get yourself down and feel like you're being unproductive, but I've noticed that I'm happiest and feel my best when I just stop everything, go take a walk, breathe in the fresh air, and notice the magic that is all around us. It's always a very grounding experience. It's so easy to get caught up in all the crap that society expects of us, especially the financial aspect. I've been trying to focus wholeheartedly on my creativity, my happiness, and living each day exactly how I want. It doesn't always go how I want, but... I'm glad I've realized this about myself. I don't want to waste my life. I want to enjoy it and I want others to feel the same. ❤️
Eventually, I found this video and after watching the whole without a single eye blink I am stunned by your work, your approach to understanding the genius is something never seen. lots of love for your idea and your work please keep sharing these, they help geeks like me.

“What if productivity was actually something that looked nothing like the accelerated way we live and work in the 21st century?” really a game changer.
When I work longer days sewing I take micronaps when I found my self spinning out from a challenge or burn out. Einstein was the muse for the idea that got me thru those times. Also I resonate deeply with your insights of this project.
I lovvvve this series! It always feels like nourishment for the soul. I initially came to this channel for the productively tips, but have stayed for the transition into mindfulness and emphasis on experience. Looking forward to seeing more from this series~
Really, really inspiring Nathaniel. Thank you. I’ve recently become self employed and am feeling really burnt out, and this is what I needed to hear right now.

Hey, I am a Physics student from India and would be a Physicist. I am following Dalai Lama's daily routine as shown in your video. From waking up at 3:30 to going to bed at 8:00. It increased my ability to study more everyday. According to me it's the best routine for students and academic teachers. Thank you so much. Love from India❣️.
The Dalai Lama abandoned his home country where he presided over thousands of full slaves and millions of peasants. He never made significant efforts to help Tibet. His exclusive message has been that people should talk to each other and be kind. Great.....

You had me from the first minutes! Great idea to focus on history giants! I might do something like that one day, I think it's a great exercise for those looking to grow and evolve! I was always fascinated by Einstein and other like him. We have so much to learn from them and they are so motivating (at least for me)! Making a video like this one definitely left an impact on you, changed you in a way, in a good way! xx
I've not seen a video from you in a few years and I'd like to say that your content has changed into a very positive direction. I think moving away from a fixation with hyper productivity was very important for me, it allowed me to take a step back and grow into a healthier person. I'm glad to see others have found this too, and I'm glad you didn't just end up glorifying Einstein as some superhuman. You gave a pretty fair portrait of him.
I have been away with youtube for almost a month, and I only used it when I need to learn new things (e.g: Programming tutorials). I haven't used it for entertaiment purposes, and I am so glad that after almost a month of not using it for personal pleasure, this is the first video I see. I am always amazed on how you can adapt in different types of life style. In my opinion, lifestyles are a part of ones history, people wont really learn who that person is not until they learned about his lifestyle, his daily life. Its funny how our generation struggles with different kinds of lifestyle in front of us, theres the hustle people, the go with the flow people, the minimalist and many more. Overall, great video! You never fail to amaze me with all your experiences and the way you share it to the world is fantastic.
I came across your UA-cam monolog over the Christmas holidays and I watched you 3 days straight day & night; I was and still am fascinated by your stories and how you present them, love the subjects you present, sincerely enjoy your critical thinking and presentations; love your advice on books you recommended (I’ve already signed up for a several of them already with the audible). I found your stories very sincere, and with all honesty I find a deep connection with most of the subjects you’ve experienced. I am learning a lot from your experiences and examples which I’ve already started to apply them in my daily activities, I really appreciate you for sharing them with the rest of the world. I just have one request and that is if you would share some of your hard times in transiting from US to Italy, France or Argentina for example how did you know where you’ll be staying, how did you find the places you stayed? Did you have friends or family helped you along in those countries? How was your first weeks or months in the places you stayed, how did you deal with the difficulties (i.e., buying food, dealing with money exchange, loneliness?) How did you find connections with others did you simply through yourself in the mercy of others or did you pre-planed everything ahead of time, that is where to stay, how to get by (did you have a support?) Thank you.
This was my favorite video so far. Just because it made me feel very motivated and already full. When you strive to live up to other people's productivity and watch some videos to see what they are doing, so you can mimic it, you always end up with a long list of things you need to do. I always tend to forget all mentioned the hacks and strategies for a more productive life. Maybe the secret all along was to simply rest more and be chill about it. That is definetely something I can remember and will try out myself.
Very beautiful video Nathaniel. You always have a very thought and lucid perspective on all the aspects of your experimentations. I nearly envy the clarity of your reflections. Keep doing them!
Mother’s are the most sleep deprived souls ever!!! Since I now have TIME to actually sleep… I love to sleep! And feel so much better!!! Sleep changes lives!!!
I think the role of sleeping the life of Einstein and other great thinkers has a few important aspects. It's not as if sleeping a lot by itself will make a person a better thinker. But if a person is spending much time thinking hard and persistently about something, then sleep has a few important roles. First, it's an energy issue: A person who spends much time thinking very hard about things will become very tired. Hard thinking drains you out. Secondly, sleeping helps thinking: It is a moment when the brain rebuilds itself, by creating new connections between the brain synapses, and thus refining the brain´s capacity to work on the issues that one is already spending his entire days thinking about. So, if you are a person who thinks a lot, about deep problems, sleeping will be essential both for recovering energy and as an elixir to improve your brain for the kind of thinking you're doing.
There’s loads of great takeaways from this, not just about napping but about self acceptance and exploration. Loved Einstein for some time but enjoyed getting to know him that little bit more. Great video Nathaniel, thank you 🙏🏻

From his obscure taste in food to his complex relationship with producing art, I think it would really put your patience to the test lol Great video by the way.

By the time the work day is over we’ve been overstimulated and have decision fatigue because we don’t get to rest or walk through the day as Einstein did.
I love your work! What fascinates me the most is the quality of the camera work in conjunction with the creative ideas of your videos.
Chapeau!
Man you're a true influencer, you always make me rethink on the small things, although living in 2 completely different realities!

Yes. Fully agree
@@Guizambaldi srn
@@hewmat8758
You’re diving more into the philosophy of “worth” than a critique of capitalism.
Even with your negative view of capitalism, it’s still hard to argue against the US being among the top 5% in terms of humanitarianism despite their tendency towards profit and quantity/quality. There’s a reason the most profitable jobs here are also the most beneficial to society, like medicine and engineering.
is it not crazy how watching a 13 minute video can inspire you to write something.. definition of power through inspiration
4:42 caked up for no reason and I appreciate it lol
I love how you mentioned that Einstein was nonconformist. There is a lot of pressure in today's world to fit in, or be like everyone else to be liked. I think social media has a lot to do with it, monitoring 'Likes' and what not.
wow nate, you're unique. i love how you've transformed over the years and found out for yourself that social life and working should be balanced to live joyfully.
this is one of my favorite videos of all time, it's so simple and it's nothing to do with the video being about eintstien, it's was just a huge reality check, every sentence you said was like so full with wisdom. there's so much to take from this video

that sponsor spot was god tier marketing, using a part of the video where the viewer's attention is high, putting a clip where every second matters so people wont skip, and connect morning brew in their mind to a task most people do in the morning, so they will be reminded of it amazing.
The magic is all around us. ❤️
I will never get tired of letting you know how much I enjoy your videos! I learn soooo much from them!!!
Your intros are so well made! I learn so much from your editing!! Well done! 👏🏼
Eventually, I found this video and after watching the whole without a single eye blink I am stunned by your work, your approach to understanding the genius is something never seen. lots of love for your idea and your work please keep sharing these, they help geeks like me.
This was the perfect way to start my “morning” -ok it’s 11:30am. But hey, now I don’t feel so guilty for sleeping in! I love this series-thx Nathaniel!!
This affected me...such a different perspective.Thank you,Nathaniel
Another great video👌 You are truly blessed Nathaniel for being able to produce such wonderful content 👌
I love how this guy thinks, and how he ACTUALLY thinks. His curiosity and wonder towards life is honestly inspiring.
“What if productivity was actually something that looked nothing like the accelerated way we live and work in the 21st century?” really a game changer.
In a deeply unmotivated rut currently and this video has immensly uplifted my spirits! Thank you for this wonderful narrative.
I love your filming style and absolutely love these trying GENIUSES routines
You REALLY changed my life
More power to you!
Brother your visual graphics in the intros are always amazing
Love this series! I would love to see more of these!

You are so creative and brilliant 🌱
9:08 that's some MASTERPIECE editing right there. You've got both skill and sense of aesthetic.
Really, really inspiring Nathaniel. Thank you. I’ve recently become self employed and am feeling really burnt out, and this is what I needed to hear right now.
Been following you for a while - mate, your videos this year have just gone completely to the next level. So beautiful. Really enjoyed this. Thank you.
You nailed the face expression on the thumbnail 🤣
not me melting off my chair at work after 4:40 [blushing for the next 4 hours]
Naps are so amazing. Just a few hours ago I went on a nap to be able to study efficiently after waking up. guess what it worked amazingly.
¡Gracias!

I just found this series and I'm so thankful. I love these type of influential brilliant people. I've been looking for their daily routines to add to mine.
You had me from the first minutes! Great idea to focus on history giants! I might do something like that one day, I think it's a great exercise for those looking to grow and evolve! I was always fascinated by Einstein and other like him. We have so much to learn from them and they are so motivating (at least for me)! Making a video like this one definitely left an impact on you, changed you in a way, in a good way! xx
This is the video I needed today. Thank you! Also, that "Day 7" shadow was slick!
It's amazing how every style of his beard looks great on him.
You’re amazing Nathaniel! Thank you so much for blessing the world with your knowledge, humbleness and genius ideas. Can’t wait to read your book!
Toujours d'une immense qualité, j'adore ton travail !

Very beautiful video Nathaniel. You always have a very thought and lucid perspective on all the aspects of your experimentations. I nearly envy the clarity of your reflections. Keep doing them!

Love his nap schedule. Sleep is the key to intelligence.
came for the daily routine; stayed for the life advice - another banger Nath x
Please keep making these videos. They are very thought provoking and I love this shit! You’ve got the story telling down. Thanks.
There’s loads of great takeaways from this, not just about napping but about self acceptance and exploration. Loved Einstein for some time but enjoyed getting to know him that little bit more.
Great video Nathaniel, thank you 🙏🏻
Hi Nathaniel. I love all your videos, especially the daily routine ones. I love your content. There's always so much to learn from it. Keep doing the amazing job you're doing.
I don't know what I was expecting when I clicked on this video, but it definitely wasn't to see Nathaniel shave his beard, but it looks awesome. Yet another great video! 🤣❤️

Dude!! What is going on in the universe?! I literally JUST posted a video about his brain being stolen -- I feel like I should go buy a lottery ticket today 🤓
I love your playful spirit in this video! Thank you for the reminder to rest and to be curious. Much gratitude :)
I would love to see you do a video like this on one of the most eccentric men who have ever lived : Salvador Dali. The way he balanced social expectations with the his commitment to flourishing as a professional is really eye opening. From his obscure taste in food to his complex relationship with producing art, I think it would really put your patience to the test lol Great video by the way.
Anthony... he didn't take showers or have sex. He thought both were violent.
Einstein was truly a humble servant.... I think that was his magic dust, his genuine humility!
Living simply without idealisation, knowing your own truth, doing what is right...that's a life worth living!
Thank you for sharing this! 🙏🏽

This is my favourite daily routine of all the ones that you've done so far. Amazing video as always!
I think the real lesson of this video is not to follow someone else's life because their great or influential but to live your life how you want to and without social constraints just like Einstein did. Also to get plenty of sleep.

"Learning is not the memorization of facts, but the training of the mind to think." - Albert Einstein. Those words have shaped my entire existence.
One of the best yet! Einstein’s life guiding principal seemed to be curiosity and empathy.
Restorative rest is labelled 'lazy' in Western countries because capitalism has raised us not for productivity, but for obedience.
Your day count is actually soo fkn cool, idk if you edit your videos but whoever does well done mannn. WoW
