BMW 335d. In almost all regards, the BMW 335d is just like any other 3-Series. It features a nicely appointed interior, modern design inside and out, and a truly engaging driving experience. In fact, for most drivers the only indicators that the 335d runs on diesel will be a welcome excess of torque, fewer trips to the filling station and the need to use the green diesel pumps when they do. - Авто та транспорт
I have had this for 9 months, put in 15000 miles and cannot be more happy. It has a huge amount of Torque on Demand :-)
Even though Diesel costs more, I get around 34-35 mpg on combined driving.
@coolerdude44
335d wont be popular ? thats a shame since that engine offers so much torque that bmw couldnt even fit a manual transmission to it
@coolerdude44 i think the 3.0 diesels are more popular in europe because the fuel prices are so high and every mpg counts
here 70% of bmw sales are diesel
The BMW´s design language, created by Chris Bangle, is all about that "tension lines" all over the body (bonnet, sides...) It creates lights and shadows, in order to make the body have a dynamic appearence. Personally, i like this style, except the rears of Series 6 and 7.
@immortal4942 in america, diesel fuel is more expensive than gasoline. $2.85 per gallon for diesel as opposed to $2.55 a gallon for regular unleaded. but premium and diesel are about the same, and bmws require premium (91 octane at least)
I own a 2011 335d and this car is almost perfect. It would be perfect if it had a LSD and a dual dry clutch trans. I can forgive the "slush box" because of the massive amounts of torque. Besides the Golf TDI there is no other vehicle that can cruise at 80mph while getting about 40 mpg. Oh, and road noise, it doesn't exist.
@immortal4942 i meant the diesel 3 series is cheaper than the petrol 3 series (335d is cheaper than 335i) but it's the opposite in america.
i'd get the 335i instead because it has one of the world's best engines, comes with a manual, revs up to 7,000 rpm, and is more neutral since diesel engines weigh a LOT more.
@SomeRandomer123 ... it revs up to 5000 rpm, it has over 40 less horsepower, and so far my prediction has been correct because they've only sold about 2,000 in america over the past 3 years.
in fact, the 335d accounts for
such a nice car
i like the color in this video
Why did they show the coupe version when talking about 335i? You can get both coupe and sedan versions as 335d and i, if im not mistaken even the touring.
@immortal4942 i don't know, i mean it's only available in an automatic.. but then again, if it only revs up to 5,000 (and all the torque is between 2-3000 rpm), do i really want a manual? and also, i just think it's too expensive. in europe, the diesel actually costs less than the equivalent petrol.
and once again, i really think bmw should have started with the 318d, 320d, and 325d and then if they are successful, bring over the 335.
where do i go to see the new car blue book value?
anyone know if you can turn off the traction control?
@swiftkillah313 your profile says you live in brazil though... and also, what's up with a 320i costing more than an m5 does in america?
God I love the 335d man or any 3-series diesel!!!
I have a 335d and fuel costs are not a concern to me but you don't need a revvy engine to have phenomental accelleration and performance - this thing pulls like a train and the engine is only doing 1700-2000 rpm when cruising at highway speed in North America and the engine is smooth and silent at that speed.
did you do one on the mercades 2005 suv?????
@coolerdude44 are you saying you can get an M5 cheaper than 50000 euros
Not to nitpick, but those cupholders (esp those ones in the back) look pretty weak. A question to anyone with a BMW within the last 10 years, how are the cup holders in daily use?
@mewmewkitti
On the Diesel? No - the 335d does NOT come in manual. Check again.
@coolerdude44 I wonder why all those trucks are so popular over there then, while there are more economical versions, people still even go for gas engines, i cant really see the point in that..
Guys,
HOW COME THERE'S NOT EVEN 1 335D ON EBAY???
I really want this car!
@TheVtieg6 yeah but i just don't get buying the 335d over the 335i. the 335i isn't really bad in the fuel efficiency department, and also fuel is relatively cheap in this country ($2.72 near me for regular)... a difference from 23 to 36 mpg isn't really worth it when spending over $40,000 on a performance car to be honest.
the 320d could easily manage 50 on the highway, that's real savings...
well what's that suposed to mean?
I dont understand bout BMW's design language. Can u explain it to me ?
And the ES350 drives like a softened Camry....because that is what it is under the surface.
So did you have a point. Your quoted 0-60 time is a bit optimistic too, Lexus rates it at 6.8 seconds and Car & Driver who regularly destroys cars trying for numbers only go 6.2 seconds out of the Lexus.
@coolerdude44 Less horsepower yes but it has 125 more torque.
yea,BMW invented the first on board computer.Plus da 7 series is the first car with HUD.
u should ask kbb to review the 2005 model since you found a cheap one, ok? btw, why did u remove your original comment?
why can't you get this diesel in a manual gearbox?
I can see driving this. Heck my lawn mower is diesel and needs almost no maintenance except oil changes.
Actualy it gets over 450lb/ft of torque and 286hp,
here in europe, and the U.S is not far back!
Just from watching this video i can see how underrated diesel engines are in United States. Most of them dont really realise how good modern european diesel engines are, and it really makes me laugh when someone from US says that diesel engines feel weak...
If and buts. I actually have the cash to buy a 335d and I can tell you that I would prefer it to the 335i due to mpg, torque and better residual value. Just because you can afford a car, doesnt mean u can maintain it. Capiche?
Why do you care about the urea tanks? You don't even have to worry about them.
bmw 3 series sedans and m series coupe and sedan only beamers left that still look good.
Well there are some people that like BMW features that some of those cheaper brands don't have...If you don't like it don't buy....you're just one person..I don't even know why you'd even watch this if you didn't like it...
Dude this thing is really hott, I like a lot. My mom has a 2008 Mercedes ML320 Diesel it's pretty nice, 23mpg CITY and 419tq lets me have some fun, I like Diesel =).
@carlwk90 My car only has cup holders in the glove box, and I know they aren't stable during movement. I don't eat or drink in my car (w201). That was a legitimate question, maybe you should stop being a generalizing American hater.
@Lexvold They have had them for years now the auto is just an option.
this 3 series sedan have nicer wheels then the other gasoline ones
@Lexvold im not overly rich and i finally understand what you meant but honestly if you buy used, there pretty inexpensive. never buy new just stupidly over priced. i could buy nearly TWO M5s for that price of a full load 3 series diesel
@swiftkillah313 Yeah man that's true, fuel prices in Holland are 64% taxes. Putting Holland on the fith place in the world in fuel prices. America is on the 111th.
Chris Bungle, very controversial designer.
you just know it in yourself "i just want one" :)
... and BMW invited XENON-Headlights
my 2012 passat tdi can get 40 mpg at those speeds
Are they as expensive to maintain as they say ??
They are until you remove the emissions equipment, then they are very reliable and VERY fast.
the sweet spot iis allways on on the mercedes
they will, in 2012
Advertisements is a disgrace
you buy 335d only in case you're looking for very fast car. And if you want solid performance - you must pay some money.
@oldirtybastard213 Try again, its just that most Americans cant drive a manual so most ordered to come here were autos. the manuals have been available for years now.
yea,the 3 series look really BMW in black
@creamyfilling102 PEREZ HILTON.
讚讚讚
@tvain86 - ok lol thanks for explanation
why it's so lame in USA to buy a diesel?!
A good choice for the economic crysis;)
leave it on you if you spend more money you would get a om read it good luck holy ???? they cost 85.00 CVN76usn the 335d eng is now in a 550d M in EU 2013-2014 one more 3 tro chargers
that car hosts a hot woooooman...
@creamyfilling102 TRU DAT BUDDY !!
Coolerdude 44 . My post were to mrkerpal2 sorry! OH'well off to the junk yard to get a 335d for 2,600.00 CVN76usn
too common here in canada
@Chingonshushu Because you dont know anything about diesels. Diesel engine is superior in every way compared to the same size / power petrol engine. The fact that almost 80% of executive saloons in europe are diesels says enough.
bmw 320d i'd buy in a heartbeat because it would probably cost only $26,000 and gets 50 mpg.
335d... i'm sorry, but when i'm spending $45,000 on a car already, fuel costs aren't my concern.
i'm buying a bmw for the revvy engines and sweet suspension. taking the revvy engine out of the equation leaves me with nothing.
like i said, the 320d is good because it increased economy by 30 mpg while still being moderately quick.
but the 335d just won't be popular here. shame.
Uppercase I' s CVN76
oopsy...
nice car too expensive
doh, american cars R the in the worst of their reliability & durability, but somehow i like the aggressive styling chrysler and chevy made, but other than that i choose japanese and german anyday!!
i don't know what language you're trying to speak but i don't think it's english.
newsflash (since you know the year u must have good brains) of course i know what f**king year itis i just want to know if it is good because i'v seen a cheap one ok
newsflash (it's 2009)
considering the video is 5 years old, and the 335d was a monumental failure in the US i think most american consumers agreed with me.
america is a country where bmw can literally sell hundreds of thousands 3 series' per year, yet only
I dont do DIEsel.....!!!
ur funny man hahaha
bmw to zlom
lmao
320d is enought, trust me :)
Or you may not like the BMW if you think they are driven and cocks, witch i do...
European thinks dat american cars have bad quality.
Kinda overpriced for its value
pure garbage i will take perol cars any day especially is350 lexus, german failure unreliable junk...my cousins back windows dont wind down anymore and its an 05 3 series. how shit is that
335d rubbish, won't take in the USA and way to expensive...
