12:53. There is third con to the microfiber cloths… they release huge amounts of microplastics into the general environment (when cleaning) and when they’re laundered, huge amounts of microplastics are released into the waterways (public water cleaning systems have yet to implement a solution). Some “solutions” (other than not using them) are to use a “Coral” ball thrown into the washing machine with them and it acts like a collector or a “guppy,” tightly woven mesh bag in which one can put the microfiber cloths and their synthetic/blended clothing items. Or buying what’s called Swedish dishcloths which are a like a thick, long lasting paper towel. They can be microwaved and put in the top rack of a dishwasher, very clever and eco-friendly little things.
THIS! I just learned this. We do so much harm to ourselves without even realizing it through the products we use. I'm going to check out the guppy you suggested.
There are alternatives to microfiber which work. However they are hard to find sometime poorly made. For example there are cotton wash bags for delicate, and lambwool duster which attract dust. You have to gently wash the lambwool in appropriate product by hand. To get taps shinny uses an old towel to dry bathes showers etc and puff the chrome etc.
Thank you! I've only heard people rave about the microfiber cloths. I hate them. Your information about them is appreciated. I didn't know they were bad for the environment. I only use them to wipe electronics. I keep them in a zip lock bag and don't need to wash them. The Swedish dishcloths, LOVE them. Easy to rinse out wring dry and they don't get stinky. I have a bag of old dinner napkins they don't have lint and are great for glass and appliances. No need to use paper towels. I have a third bag of old waffle weave dish cloths that I use for toilets only.
Great tips! Thanks a lot. Just as an idea and of course a challenge that I have, it would be also good to teach us about different floor materials and what's the right way and product to clean them. Thanks again. You are adorable 💕
Another great video! I was lucky to learn about dark floors with a rental, so I avoid them with my own homes. However, it has made me a bit lazy with regard to cleaning because the lighter floors do such a good job of hiding dust and dirt.
No, you are not the only one. I, in fact, don’t like vacuum lines at all. It drives me crazy when the lines are all over the place. I know that I will get hate for this, but I like “destroying” vacuum lines. Sorry to everyone who loves vacuum lines
I hated vacuuming, so I vacuumed super rarely (ashamed to say how rarely). But then I bought the Dyson gen5, and I absolutely love it! So easy when you don't have to drag a big vacuum and deal with the cord! Plus the power it has, love it!
I love my Rainbow vacuum, very durable and all the dirt it suctions goes to the water tank. It cleans very very well, as well. Then, I just use a pair of gloves to clean the tank. I have my Rainbow vacuum for more than 20 years.
Great vlog Melissa. I used my old Upright Dyson which I got in 2005 yesterday. I can’t believe how heavy and cumbersome it was compared to the cordless version. It’s on its last legs unfortunately but it managed to hoover up some dust left by a construction worker ! Not going to jeopardise my cordless hoover for that job!
I find the letter openers that are the size of a business card with a protected razor edge are great for hair and thread. Sharper than a seam ripper and the pointy piece gets under and lifts easily.
Vacuum Tip. Do not wrap the cord too tightly. Stress over time on the plastic will induce cracks and eventually expose the electrical wire. Not pretty, but I opt for a loose wrap.
16:26 For the other verbophiles out there, Febreze did not coin the term "noseblind." I'm reasonably sure I read it in an Arthur Conan Doyle novel, when Sherlock Holmes was using a bloodhound and the villain's trail was masked with creosote. Alexa informs me that would have The Missing Three-Quarter, which was published in 1904. Now I feel compelled to re-read the story to see if I remembered correctly. 🤔
omg I'm so glad you posted this before I get new floors! I'm literally always barefoot and I make everyone take their shoes off before they come in so most of my friends are too. I wasn't sure I was a light floor girlie but I absolutely will be if it means I don't have to start wearing slippers when it's not freezing 🤣
I do not enjoy vacuuming at all, but I enjoy my space being clean, so I vacuum. Maybe my next vacuum will be cordless, and that will be somewhat more tolerable. 😊
BTW, I have the Makers Clean little scrubby cloths. Seriously, they are brilliant on my non-stick pan that I spent a lot of money on and baby because I want it function well.
My friend used to have to have perfect vacuums lines in her carpet , too stressful and who Cares ? You want it clean but you want to be able to use the room !
I hated vacuuming - until I bought 2 vacuums. Just the thought of carrying this 20 pound machine up even a few stairs - caused me to avoid the entire task as much as possible. Years later (I'm a bit slow) I bought a second vacuum for the upstairs. I still don't like vacuuming - but at least I don't hate it anymore.
Disinfecting sounds really good and after COVID people used disinfecting wipes everywhere. The problem is the surface door handle or bench does not stay pristine gem free. 10 minutes they are back. Unless you have a clean room which stops air getting in and thereby decreasing bugs entering you should aim for clean
Hi, I tried using microfiber, but I find that it usually gets messed up with pets hair (I have 2 heavy shedders at home) and I always go back to paper towels because of that very reason. It simply transfer them to surfaces when the microfibers are wet too... Any tips for that?
What vacuum do you recommend that is best for all types of hair and dust ? What kind of vacuum do you have ? Please help . Trying to invest in my first vacuum best for vinyl floors . Or a variety. Please and thank you so much ! @Cleanmyspace
I don’t mind vacuuming, but Ali have a big, heavy plug-in Dyson. I would like to invest in a new cordless vacuum, but I have a little pile in my rugs and I’m not sure what cordless vacuum will handle a small amount of of pile. Melissa, or anyone in the comment section, has a recommendation, please share. Thank you for the cleaning recommendations and ideas.
I highly recommend a cordless Dyson or Shark. The freedom from the cord is life changing. Remember those commercials when we were growing up- the lady would be cleaning and say this made cleaning fun! And now she loves cleaning? Well that is life with a good cordless vacuum.
The cord length isn’t a problem, it reaches far. It’s the weight of the vacuum itself. I will still use my regular vacuum, I just want a cordless that will work on my short pile for daily touch ups. Thanks for the suggestions.
Toothpaste, use a damp cloth; it's all gone. No product is required. Again, if you have a porous or delicate surface, a lightly wet cloth like an old cotton flannel works well. Gently wipe away the mess
Hi, damp dusting is helpful and vacuum cleaners with a hepa filter to help reduce the problem, I'm also allergic to dust and other stuff 😅. Good luck. ❤
I hate dwell time ☹️. The dollar store spik and span is great but I read the back label of instructions and it says to let it sit 10 MINUTES! 😳 Little by little I will eventually be patient enough to actually wait..... someday 😊.
I hate vacuuming, the worst aspect is the noise. It will be much better if Mr Dyson invents the silent ( or very very quiet vacuum cleaner. Then if I get a cleaning urge ( extremely rare) I need not worry about disturbing others especially during antisocial hours. I find once I start on my hated task I do a very thorough clean moving furniture etc.
Same. I chose my vacuum cleaner mostly for the fewer decibels - I could filter that spec in the online shop. It is a corded one but I have a small one-level apartment so it's fine. It is a very compact model. Plus I don't like all those battery-operated appliances that are constantly (over)charging and using a lot of energy. Don't mind vacuuming as much now that I hardly hear any noise!
that is astounding! You don‘t shed skin cells? While you are wearing textiles or rolling in them while you sleep thus breaking off fine filaments of fabric? you never open your windows to let fine dusts from all around the world in?
IDK why but I’m finding your videos less and less useful. It just seems like content, for the sake of content. Edit. After the vacuum stuff… it was much better.

Cleaning is mundane. I don’t have a choice since I am a single dad. Boohoo I got extra room out here in the country if you have a cute sister that wants to move in with me.
Its so hard, i really like cleaning, that includes vacuuming - even though i have a vacuum with a cord, lol (once I've started) but I'm so bad at keeping the house tidy so i have to find motivation for that first 🥲 and i hate it
I usually don’t like vacuuming but when it is done, I feel better because it just makes the while house “feel” cleaner 😊
Happy Thursday Everyone!
Happy Friday now!!! Xx
I recently had a leaky sink. Your Makers Clean towels cleaned up the under sink mess so quickly. TX!!
So glad the towels came in handy for you!
I'm one of the weirdos who loves to vacuum!!! Thanks so much for all the amazing tips!! Before you, I never thought about dwell time!!!
Awesome to hear you're a fellow vacuum enthusiast! Keep rocking those cleaning sessions!
Me too! I try to make nice designs and the feeling of clean freshly vacuumed carpet on your feet is such a treat 😂❤

I agree! Yes please make a video about various floors and what to use and not use to clean them
Another great video! I was lucky to learn about dark floors with a rental, so I avoid them with my own homes. However, it has made me a bit lazy with regard to cleaning because the lighter floors do such a good job of hiding dust and dirt.
I appreciate your support and feedback. It means a lot to me!
Vacuuming is my favorite chore. I get instant gratification!
Thank you for sharing! It's great to find satisfaction in everyday tasks like vacuuming.
I love it as it gives me sense of satisfaction
Vacuuming is the only part of cleaning I like! I also love painting...something so therapeutic for me and you see such a huge difference so quickly!
Thank you for sharing! It's great to find joy in everyday activities like these.
I love vacuuming especially using the new vacuum that really picks up pet hair.
I was thinking this, but I thought everyone would think I was weird. 😂
Hi, @user-ci5si8jz5h! What vacuum do you use?
I would also love to know what vacuumed is best for hair (any type of) and dust .
I don't LOVE vacuuming but I certainly don't mind doing it. I find cleaning to be generally satisfying
Vacuuming might not be a love story, but it's definitely a relationship we can tolerate!
Am I the only one who hates the look of vacuum cut lines? I always do a final pass all in the same direction to avoid lines.
No, you are not the only one. I, in fact, don’t like vacuum lines at all. It drives me crazy when the lines are all over the place. I know that I will get hate for this, but I like “destroying” vacuum lines. Sorry to everyone who loves vacuum lines
I love when you use your Dyson’s to vacuum!! One of the main reasons I bought myself a Dyson v11 outsize w/ laser
I appreciate your kind words and I'm glad my Dyson vacuum content inspired you to get one for yourself!
I hated vacuuming, so I vacuumed super rarely (ashamed to say how rarely). But then I bought the Dyson gen5, and I absolutely love it! So easy when you don't have to drag a big vacuum and deal with the cord! Plus the power it has, love it!

Great information
A family member said that my idea of a good time, is an afternoon with a vacuum cleaner. Yes, I seriously enjoy vacuuming. Therapeutic. 😊
Some people have meditation, you have vacuuming - different strokes for different folks! Thanks for watching! Melissa
Thank you
Can you post the link for the vacuum cleaner tool? I have looked for one a few times and can't seem to find one.
I’ve been looking too. Can’t find the link anywhere here.
Helpful! Thanks :)
Just what I need today!!
I'm glad this video could brighten your day!
Vacuum Tip. Do not wrap the cord too tightly. Stress over time on the plastic will induce cracks and eventually expose the electrical wire. Not pretty, but I opt for a loose wrap.
Thanks for sharing this important tip about vacuum cords!
True applies for any electrical equipment. Check your cord for fraying

Not a fan of vacuuming either! But it’s a must 😁💜
All is a must! Thanks for watching!
Mateo it’s great seeing you busy working on your space.
Can you explain the plus and minus on the beater bar heard?
For most it’s not fun and you just want to get it over with, but vacuum slowly.
That is probably the best advice yet, but it’s never mentioned! Just slow your roll, people! Your carpet will get much cleaner.
BTW, I have the Makers Clean little scrubby cloths. Seriously, they are brilliant on my non-stick pan that I spent a lot of money on and baby because I want it function well.
Looks like those little scrubby cloths are the real MVP for your non-stick pan! Who knew cleaning could be so exciting?
My friend used to have to have perfect vacuums lines in her carpet , too stressful and who
Cares ? You want it clean but you want to be able to use the room !
Who needs perfect vacuum lines when you can have a cozy, lived-in vibe, right?
Yeah; what’s the deal with “vacuum lines”? Never knew that was desirable.
FIRST!
👍 for Molly! 😻

I love vacuuming from🇬🇧❤
Vacuuming from 🇬🇧 sounds so posh and proper! Do you vacuum with a cup of tea in hand?
Love your sweater 💕
Thanks! It's my lucky sweater, brings all the good vibes!
Molly is adorable
I love my microfiber cloths, but I have had them a long time. How do I know when it’s time to replace them?
When your microfiber cloth starts giving your surfaces more fuzz than cleaning power, it might be time for a replacement!
I love to vacuum!!! Always have even as a kid. I would throw down beads to just suck them up. ❤❤
Hi,
I tried using microfiber, but I find that it usually gets messed up with pets hair (I have 2 heavy shedders at home) and I always go back to paper towels because of that very reason. It simply transfer them to surfaces when the microfibers are wet too... Any tips for that?
My red strips always come off. I don't know why it always happens to me. Where do I get more? Any thrifty ways of replacing?
Ain't nobody going to mention that fire sweater?
You will! Thanks for watching!
Gorgeous color
Hi, thanks! What breed is your cat! looks so cute :)
I like vacuuming carpet
Great thinking😂,👍👍👍🙏
What vacuum do you recommend that is best for all types of hair and dust ? What kind of vacuum do you have ? Please help . Trying to invest in my first vacuum best for vinyl floors . Or a variety. Please and thank you so much ! @Cleanmyspace
When is it often to vacuum your floors? 😊
🐈⬛ Hello to Molly!
Thanks!
I don't like vaccuuming but I do like seeing the cut lines.
I totally get that! The satisfaction of those clean lines is worth the hassle of vacuuming.
Hello Molly.
Can you share the brand and color of your floors?
Hi Molly 🐾
Molly says hi back!
Have someone put a really long cord on your current Dyson. It is life-changing.
That's a great suggestion! A longer cord can definitely make cleaning easier.
I highly recommend a cordless Dyson or Shark. The freedom from the cord is life changing. Remember those commercials when we were growing up- the lady would be cleaning and say this made cleaning fun! And now she loves cleaning? Well that is life with a good cordless vacuum.

2:10 we have the same exact vacuum 😅😂
Hello Molly
Molly says hi back!
I cleaned my Dyson and now my hose attachment doesn’t work. Is there a trick to putting things back together or did I maybe break something 😢
Check the connection!!
🙂
Toothpaste, use a damp cloth; it's all gone. No product is required. Again, if you have a porous or delicate surface, a lightly wet cloth like an old cotton flannel works well. Gently wipe away the mess
I used to love cleaning until I became allergic to dust. Now it's hard
Allergies can really throw a wrench in things, but don't give up on cleaning just yet!
Hi, damp dusting is helpful and vacuum cleaners with a hepa filter to help reduce the problem, I'm also allergic to dust and other stuff 😅. Good luck. ❤
KN95s help too!
I hate dwell time ☹️. The dollar store spik and span is great but I read the back label of instructions and it says to let it sit 10 MINUTES! 😳 Little by little I will eventually be patient enough to actually wait..... someday 😊.
Kitty!!!!
Molly !!!
Hi. Thanks.🌹 Just I wish we could use less chemicals and paper towels that hurt the environment.
I enjoy vacuuming! Not a monster though😂
I hate vacuuming, the worst aspect is the noise. It will be much better if Mr Dyson invents the silent ( or very very quiet vacuum cleaner. Ear plugs. Ditto if you use a hair dryer.
Ear plugs and a hair dryer? Sounds like a rock concert in the bathroom!
Tofu Press!!!
Melissa: My favorite vacuuming tips, tricks, and tips
Me: This is a textbook definition of an oxymoron knowing how much Melissa hates vacuuming
Haha, I definitely has a love-hate relationship with vacuuming!
First
Open windows air the home if you can
I guess this is the wrong place to ask, but how is your cat. 🐈⬛
Molly is much better! Thanks for asking. Melissa
Thanks for asking! Molly is feeling much better thankfully! Melissa.
Bamboo cloths are reusable
I hate vacuuming! I hate floors!!
Vacuuming is okay...I don't love it and I don't hate it.
Vacuuming is like that distant cousin you see at family gatherings - you don't love it, you don't hate it, but it's always there!
Umm nope to all housework. If I had to have a favourite shine room though it's the bathroom.
To each their own! Thx for watching!
If you don't find vacuuming therapeutic you don't have a husky or similar breed.
i thought i was gonna learn something new.. nope.. this is all common sense ..
Sounds like you're a pro!
Don't have kids don't have pets don't vacuum.
😂 I have all things and I have to vacuum all the time.
Don’t live in Kansas where the air is full of pollen and dust!🤣🤣🤣
that is astounding! You don‘t shed skin cells? While you are wearing textiles or rolling in them while you sleep thus breaking off fine filaments of fabric? you never open your windows to let fine dusts from all around the world in?
I DESPISE vacuuming. But it's essential. *sigh*
I hear you, vacuuming can definitely be a chore!
IDK why but I’m finding your videos less and less useful. It just seems like content, for the sake of content.
Edit. After the vacuum stuff… it was much better.
Fair enough. Thanks for still watching my video!
Where do you live? Come to my house?
