Hello from Germany! I used to have a Kärcher Window Vac and I loved it. But now I gave it to my mom (who loves it too) and got myself a Window Vac from Leifheit (I think it's also a German brand and internationally maybe not as common as Kärcher). On the new one I can attach Leifheit sticks and this way it extends, so I can easily clean even the biggest and tallest windows in my house.
Didn't know Leifheit has it too, thanks! I have spray mop for more than 7 years and will buy another one when we move to the house (for the practical reasons). Excellent brand.
The spin mop and bucket combo works better when there's a divided bucket, keeping the dirty water that comes off the mop after use separate from the clean water you dip the mop into before putting it on your floors.
They have a new upgrade version that has two tanks. One for dirty water and one for clean. I just got it and it is pretty awesome. The one she shows has a red tank, the new one has a blue tank.
I believe the mop you’re talking about is called the o’cedar rinse clean. I have the original (the red one) and I love it and use the “double bucket system” but I have heard with the rinse clean mop that it doesn’t give you enough water to wet the entire mop.
I found my back would act up no matter which O'cedar spin mop I used, then I realized the handle was too short, so I got a Spin Right mop from TEC. I got their bundle which has a mop scrubber attachment which helps keep your grout clean, a dusting pad you can clean baseboards, walls, cars, ceilings, hard to reach corners, ceiling fans, showers, a set of mopping shoe covers, it comes in a single or double bucket, has fun colors and best of all the mop stick is 61 inches tall, can stand without propping against anything, easy to change mop heads, . I've had it for a couple months and I can say I really enjoy using it.

Thank you. I’m moving to a newly built home and want to start fresh with cleaning products. I’ll give some a try. I still like your DIYs for most things.
Melissa, I did buy your Taco shaped mop and I did like it, but we had a lot of floor space to mop and I just prefer being able to rinse out the mop head without getting my hands wet so the spin mop was my go to. But your mop did not go to waste, I gave it to a friend that had a smaller moping floorprint then I did and she loves it.
Great video, Melissa, thank you. I have in some form most of the products you’ve mentioned and they do work very well. The electric scrubber is a little cumbersome at times but I’m new with working with it so I guess I have to give it more time and practice. The one thing that I do love and that I have come back to over the years is a portable steamer. I don’t use the handheld ones, which is what I started off with. I have the larger one that you can use all over your house.(although I’ve learned not to use it on wood /laminate floors or things like that). In many cases, you don’t even need chemicals. But if you do, it definitely helps to make it easier. Whenever possible I still love using your DIY‘s.. as someone with a visual disability I happen to love anything that serves multiple purposes. But thanks again for the clarification and to a lot of people in the comment section you had some really good ideas. Oh, I forgot to ask the person that said Dawn power wash is peroxide, Dawn and water… do you have a recipe, please? I use the real Dawn power wash for my dishes, but the DIY’s for everything else.
I love my Maker's Cleaning Mop! I use it in several places in my house and should probably have two. I use it on shower doors, sides and floors as well as all the floors in my house. I've had the pill "razor" for years and bought it to get turf out of football socks. I bought cleaning attachments to use with my power drill, but the drill was too heavy.
Love all the products you mentioned. After I am done using most of the products you mentioned I love to use Mrs. Meyers all purpose spray as a final part for an enjoyable smell. I like to mix it up according to the season and time of the year. Great video! Thank you.
I ordered the makers mop from you and that is the best mop I ever had. In my bathroom I have smaller klinkers on the floor, and my robot vacum is not able to get the dust from the joints. Im walking with cruthes, so ordinary vacuum is hard. But the ”sharp” edge on the mop fits the joints perfect, so easy to clean and I only need to transport wet mop head with me in the apartment instead of water bucket. ❤
Amazing video Melissa!!! Thank you for your honest point of views!!! Just saying I personally seen that mop being used everywhere but I do ❤ the Maker's Mop!!! So I haven't got a spin mop, plus the bucket would take up so much space!!! ❤❤
Just this week I found out about Dawn professional degreaser and ordered it right away. It cleaned off my oven hood that has been gross since before we moved in 5 years ago and I couldn't figure out anything to work on it (even regular Dawn). It took off years of grime in less than a minute, super impressed with it so far, can't wait to try it on other things!
I appreciate your review of the scrubber brush with attachments, I was wondering if it was worth it. I bought the Mopnado, more expensive than the O'Cedar, but the Mopnado has wheels on it, which decided my choice. My house has a lot of tile. Your Makers taco-shape mop looks very useful, I've been considering it as well, more for dusting high level areas than mopping. Thank you for all you do.
Really interesting. Thanks Melissa. I have the Karcher window cleaner. Not that I have a big house but I used to hate cleaning windows but since using the Karcher it’s quite fun! So easy and it’s fast. The Dawn power wash sounds great. I just checked and saw that we can get it in Australia! I might try it but I’ve just bought Morning Fresh which is my favourite for dishes and it lasts ages. I’ve been using Koh universal cleaner and I love it.
I love my Koh cleaning product and the Koh spray mop also Morning Fresh is my favourite as well and I purchase it in the spray bottle that’s probably similar to the Dawn one, I don’t do much hand washing up because I use my dishwasher for just about everything, have you tried the other Australian cleaner called “For All V” or “V For All”, I have and I don’t think it’s as good as the Koh. Cheers from Queensland 😊
The pink stuff, Dawn powerwash, bar keepers friend is legendary. 3:57 I just attachments brush to my drill. Since that's not in my budget yet but I need it to help me clean. 6:36 this piller helped my clothes 7:49 steamer was game changers in the game. Melissa, I bought the spinning scrubber because I have arthritis in my hands. The problem I find is I have to press hard to keep it from bouncing around because it’s always spinning. Did you have this problem? Is there a solution to that?
I had a MAJOR ant problem last year. Suddenly, thousands appeared in a space (wall over the kitchen cabinet, bathroom floor, etc.) in just one day! I was busy washing dishes with Dawn Power Spray when they popped up over the gas range. Startled, I went crazy and sprayed these critters with the Dawn I had in hand. BAM! Every single ant was dead INSTANTLY! I couldn't believe the speed and effect. We always have a "fly season" when summer comes so when I was exterminating the ants, I saw a fly land on my counter. BAM! I sprayed the fly and he keeled over in the soap suds and died. Flies often land on well lit windows so there was a double benefit. The Dawn Spray on the window sill softened dust and grit so after dispatching the critters, I took a damp rag and cleaned it to sparkly in a jiff. LOVE MY DAWN!
Howard Feed & Wax I saw on a channel -purchased-used-and will swear by too how beautifully it works on wood furniture. Bringing new life out of stained and scuffed furniture !
I have the same problem with every store bought cleaning spray, I start sneezing, and then I come down with flu symptoms for several days! I use 50/50 water and vinegar with a good squirt dishwash liquid, and it is magic! Cleans everything from my oven to the windows!
@@RebelAlliance42 same! I have cats, so I changed my cleaning system for them a long time ago, and now I can't stand chemicals any more. Whenever I have to clean at work I get these exact symptoms and feel nauseous. I have the same recipe as you, and one bottle with dilute dishwashing liquid only, and vinegar- oil solution for hardwood. The whole house is spotless.
Great video. I always appreciate your take. I just wanted to confirm that the electric scrub brush is amazing for those of us who have health issues. It has been a game changer for me! I highly highly recommend!
I was influenced to buy the wet /dry mop vac. It does an OK job. I still need to use something else for corners & close to walls. It can work but it's a pain to set up, keep charged & maintain so it does not stink. It's got a small reservoir so for a whole house I'm refilling & dumping dirty water often. I'm not crazy about it.
I love the spin mop because it’s really gets in the corners and crevices well. Picks up dust well. Also, you can clean your walls and any big glass panels with it too. 😊
Bonus fact: the Kärcher windowcleaner also works when held sidewards or upside-down. There's also a version of it that has little adjustable "spacers" on both sides of the squeegee that you can adjust to the width of your windows' seals. Really clever!
I subbed! You’re spot on with all the products. The only two I haven’t given in on yet are: 1. Dawn Powerwash, I’ve heard it’s phenomenal but I’m a BarKeepers gal through and through. Our youngest did sell me on The Pink Stuff, both the putty and the spray. 2. The mop. It looks phenomenal, my friend has one and loves it. I use my steamer though after I’ve used a cleaner and my power washer wand! The others, I’ve had for ages. Every Spring, the depiller comes out for the wool coats and sweaters as well as the clothing steamer to clean and cover them for next winter. I use it on sheets, blankets, sweaters, pants…it’s a must have. My Nana gave me my first one when I was 20, I’m 53. I gave my dad and his wife a window vacuum and extended wand scrubber for Christmas two years ago and they were both raving once they finally used them! I love the corner attachment! I’m easy to please 🤣. Give me socks for Christmas and I’ve overjoyed. Give me cleaning wipes and it’s the best Christmas gift ever!
I have been watching your channel for years now and it never gets old Melissa! 🥰 I hope you see this and would love a video on your opinion of some Oak and Willow products, specifically their solid dish soap. A woman started and owned company in North Bay Ontario and I found the solid dish soap works EVEN BETTER than dawn power wash. So I really hope you see this and I'm very interested in your opinion 😁😁
Thank you for this and thank you for putting links for the US to these products! I need a spin brush that extends so I can clean my shower tiles without actually stepping into my tub. I have the discontinued Clorox one and it is useless. If you ever come out with your own version, let me know. 😁
When I was a truck driver, I ate most of my meals on my truck... which meant I was cooking in my sleeper area. Dawn Powerwash was a LIFESAVER when it came to keeping my dishes and instant pot clean. Truckstop food get nasty after awhile.
Thank you. I have been wondering if those spin mops are worth it. Going to try after watching your review. The older I get the more I appreciate anything that makes my life a little easier.
Great tips. I couldn’t get on with the Vileda spin mop. The mop part really hurt my back. I now own one of their other mops. In the UK Fairy is the equivalent of Dawn & it’s brilliant. Like Dawn, you can use it on so many things & they come up brilliantly.
The O cedar spin mop is excellent however the cotton mop head that it comes with rings out so excellently but when you buy a replacement, it’s always some sort of polyester nylon type material that does not ring out as well
I have been using the clothes shaver since I was a kid… that’s a looong time ago lol but the dawn dish spray, I have a love hate relationship with it! The smell chokes me out. I also find if I use it on my greasy pans and grill, it actually makes them feel sticky and gross after. Works great on all other surfaces but not on actual cooking pans!
9:11 yep I will never clean my windows another way. However, even easier is putting the microfiber-ish attachment on my spin brush, wash the window (I use water a whisp of Castile soap) then suck it dry. SO GOOD.
I like the idea of a scrubber, especially for high spaces. But, how do you rinse off all the soap scumb afterwards? I can't haul in an outside hose through a window to rinse out the shower.
I haven't seen Vileda but I have seen Ocedar. I have to agree with you on all of these and you kinda twisted my arm and I gave in to buying castile soap and I love it I'm hooked
I have been using CIF to clean stove tops, bath tub, tiles and find it does the job well. How are dawn power wash and pink stuff different from CIF in their effectiveness? Any comparison or special cases ehere they are better?
Excellent video with honest, believable reviews. I'm adding some of these products to my regimen. However, I recently bought the original O'Cedar spin mop (as you featured) and had a real problem with the mop head. The spin mop did a great job cleaning my mixed surface floors (ceramic tile, luxury vinyl tile, and wood laminate). But then I tried to wash the mop head, and it was a disaster. The directions say to let it dry flat. So I did. Left it overnight and it was still wet (and yes I did wring it out). So I hung it to dry so the air could circulate around it, and left it overnight.Oh brother: it stunk so bad from mildew that I had to toss it out. I'd like to know if it's worth spending money on another mop head [I can still smell it!], or just throw the whole thing out. :(
I used to have the Karcher window cleaner but regretting it now that I gave it away, I use a product called “Koh” to do most of my cleaning with, I have there spray mop for my tiled floors but I just use vinegar and water to do my floors in the spray mop, it doesn’t leave any streaks on my tiles, the one thing I haven’t found is a cleaning solution to remove pen/biro marks on the leather part of my Coach handbag, I’ve tried just about everything to try and remove pen marks from it, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for sharing. Greetings from Queensland Australia ♥️♥️
I think power paste works better than pink stuff. I like to use a one dollar squeegee for windows. Window cleaners do. Rest of stuff is good. Can't afford mop like that. Use six dollar mop from dog gen for years. Works great. Thanks for ur channel.
Someone please explain why you can’t just put some dawn dish soap in a spray bottle with water and use that to clean. I’ve been doing it for YEARS and I’ve yet to find anything I can’t clean with it. I can also add alcohol to it for disinfectant, but it’s not always necessary.
I clean our shower with the Pink Stuff. My homemade Dawn Powerwash does the cleaning I want. I just have to let it soak a bit longer than the brand name stuff. I considered buying a spin mop, but pros use what I use.
I’m not 100% sure it was viral, but I was influenced to try the LA’s Totally Awesome vinegar based glass cleaner from Dollar Tree and I love it. They also have a 64oz cleaning vinegar bottle now, which makes Dollar Tree the only place I know of that fairly reliably has that stuff here in the States.
I work at Costco and have used power wash to clean the register counters, this works amazing at removing the residue and wear scum from the days member activity. Best food safe cleaner personally used to clean at retail work.
I looooove my karcher window vac! I got the package with the spray/mop too, and in fact, I just paused this video to go clean some windows because we have a house inspection on Tuesday. I also love my scrub daddy, I literally just used it to scrub my sink, too while I was in the kitchen cleaning windows... lol I haven't tried the pink stuff, I use Jiff, I think it's the same as Ciff, and I've always been happy with it, so if it ain't broke... you know? Jiff, my diy all-purpose cleaner, and a scrub daddy together are a powerhouse, the best thing I've ever found, all I need for most cleaning jobs in my house, and I'm more than happy with them. I do use a nice smelling floor cleaner and toilet cleaner, but that's about it.
I bought that cordless cleaning wand thing nearly a year ago and I never used it! Every time I see a video with someone using it I am reminded that I have it. I think because it is hidden as I keep it plugged in, in an obscure storage room, it's hidden from view.
sorry, nope to the window vac. I had the Karcher one. gave it away. yes to Pink Stuff. Not sure why it's better than Gumption, but it is. I have the spin mop, yeah it's ok, i mostly use it to clean all my kitchen cupboards.
I am a housekeeper but in Greece ..too bud that we cant have our hands on those products .. We do have good food but I hate the cleaning market here ..
dawn power wash is just foaming dish liquid waterdown it works just fine if you refill them a little under half with water then the rest with dawn dish soap the foamer bottles are amazing though
As a cleaning-product geek, I was pretty sure that Dawn Power Wash was over-hyped. Not at all. Frigging amazing product. As for Pink Stuff, yeah it works nicely on Stainless Steel. But as far as I'm concerned, Barkeeper's Friend is better and more versatile. I have the O'Cedar version of that mop. It's great, and I say that even though I don't have room for the bucket. I can't possibly get rid of it. Also, I recently learned that O'Cedar customer service is amazing.
I love The Pink Stuff and the electric scrubber, both are well worth the hype. I used to use Dawn, until I found out it and several other dish liquids have an ingredient that is bad for the environment. The one item that is complete garbage and not worth the hype, in my humble opinion, was the Bissell Steam Shot.
Karcher window vac is a useful device. But in my view the professional version is better than a low grade one despite of having shorter battery life. And it is because the professional device can suck water from every position, including upside down.
* Pour 13 fluid ounces of water into a bottle fitted with a spray nozzle. * Add in 4 tablespoons of blue Dawn Dish Soap or another soap of your choice. You can use a soap without added scent and color if that is your preference. * Add 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol. * Gently mix, swirling the bottle to mix the formula together. I copied this from google, you can also use clear dish soap and add your favorite essential oil. Works for me time and time again for pennies on the dollar. Oh I forgot I cut back on the dish soap because found it to work better for me with 3 tablespoons of dish soap
My biggest regret was when i bought the Bissell Crosswave. I have darker floors and using this is a nightmare! The amount of streaks and out right dirt spots it leaves behind is awful especially for the price! 250.00! And the soap you put in is also outrageous in price. It also doesn't clean right up to the base boards. Which i kinda knew that but not worth it if you have to use another mop to get to all the spots this apparatus doesn't. I only use it for a real quick clean up. Overall fail!

I believe the mop you’re talking about is called the o’cedar rinse clean. I have the original (the red one) and I love it and use the “double bucket system” but I have heard with the rinse clean mop that it doesn’t give you enough water to wet the entire mop.
You open the little door to let as much water in as you desire. Best system ever. I rinse it twice to start with a fresh mop each time.
*I'm glad you made this video* it reminds me of my transformation from a nobody to good home, $34k monthly and a good daughter full of love..
As a beginner what do I need to do? How can I invest, on which platform? If you know any please share.

Can I start with as low as $1,000?
Thanks!
In the US, the spin mop is branded by O'Cedar. They make a scrub brush that clips onto the mop head as an option.
@tonjamiller2184, it's got alcohol in it, not peroxide. I just looked on the back of mine.
I thought she said there was no DIY for the PowerWash.
6:36 this piller helped my clothes
7:49 steamer was game changers in the game.
I have a regular steamers for my clothes.
7:51 my favorite mop because it help with my limited mobility. Just like the twist mop
Melissa, I bought the spinning scrubber because I have arthritis in my hands. The problem I find is I have to press hard to keep it from bouncing around because it’s always spinning. Did you have this problem? Is there a solution to that?
I love all DAWN products. ❤❤❤
In Australia we have Gumption which is the equivalent to The Pink Stuff; and Fairy liquid which is the same as Dawn.
Howard Feed & Wax I saw on a channel -purchased-used-and will swear by too how beautifully it works on wood furniture. Bringing new life out of stained and scuffed furniture !
The DIY Dawn Powerwash may not be chemically identical, but it works great, and doesn't make me sneeze like the "real" stuff does.
I recently purchased the electric scrubber after seeing one of your other videos. I love it. It especially has helped me with the bathtub and tiles.
Which brand did you buy?
@ it was the LyriFine electric spin scrubber
I was influenced to buy a handheld steamer and while it does work… its cumbersome to use so I dont use it as often as I should
I have been watching your channel for years now and it never gets old Melissa! 🥰 I hope you see this and would love a video on your opinion of some Oak and Willow products, specifically their solid dish soap. A woman started and owned company in North Bay Ontario and I found the solid dish soap works EVEN BETTER than dawn power wash. So I really hope you see this and I'm very interested in your opinion 😁😁
when you use Dawn on surfaces how do you deal with the residual? I use a wet towel, and it becomes so bubbly.
I now have limited mobility. If you don't have a video for this, it would be on GREATLY APPRECIATED. ❤
Yes, there is one in 2024. It's called BEST TOOLS To Clean Your Home With Limited Mobility!
@keepscats7936 thank you!
I absolutely love using the Pink Stuff and I use my Spin Mop all the time. Two great products! Thank you for sharing!
MORE OF THIS PLEASE!! 🙏🏽
Great tips.
I couldn’t get on with the Vileda spin mop. The mop part really hurt my back. I now own one of their other mops.
In the UK Fairy is the equivalent of Dawn & it’s brilliant. Like Dawn, you can use it on so many things & they come up brilliantly.
I was influenced to buy Makers Cleaning Cloths. They are wounderful!
I value your opinion, thanks for sharing.
I just throw mine in a hot wash and then flip it upside down to dry. I have had mine for years with no issues so I’d suggest giving it another try :)
I do wash after every use, I just throw it in with my cleaning rag laundry
@@amyellex I'll see how much a replacement costs and maybe I'll try again. 😕
What do you think of steam cleaning or the scrub brush?
Someone please explain why you can’t just put some dawn dish soap in a spray bottle with water and use that to clean. I’ve been doing it for YEARS and I’ve yet to find anything I can’t clean with it. I can also add alcohol to it for disinfectant, but it’s not always necessary.
I clean our shower with the Pink Stuff. My homemade Dawn Powerwash does the cleaning I want. I just have to let it soak a bit longer than the brand name stuff. I considered buying a spin mop, but pros use what I use.
I'm a power wash girl and I have the pink stuff but haven't tried it yet. TY for sharing!❤😊👍
Does Dawn Powerwash do much for oven cleaning??????
What are your thoughts on Tineco floor washers?
You cut your hair! ☺️ Love your videos and this one is no exception. I learn something new all the time!
I work at Costco and have used power wash to clean the register counters, this works amazing at removing the residue and wear scum from the days member activity. Best food safe cleaner personally used to clean at retail work.
Would you prefer the spin mop or the crosswave?
I LOVE the PINK STUFF. My kitchen sink (aluminum) sparkles.
I have a large popcorn machine at home, and Dawn power wash KILLS all the grease that the kettle accumulates. It works wonders!
sorry, nope to the window vac. I had the Karcher one. gave it away.
yes to Pink Stuff. Not sure why it's better than Gumption, but it is.
I have the spin mop, yeah it's ok, i mostly use it to clean all my kitchen cupboards.
I love the spin mop.I clean my cabinets and doors with it.
I’m an ole girl that has cleaned for decades. You have helped me a lot! Thank you. ❤
My electric scrubby brush is my favourite thing.
That and the pink stuff and cleaning goes so fast.
I am a housekeeper but in Greece ..too bud that we cant have our hands on those products ..
We do have good food but I hate the cleaning market here ..
Bona is great, for my wood floors
I got one of those spin brushes and I love it.
My husband threw out my spin mop because he wanted to use an old fashioned mop. I bought another one and told him he’d better not touch it
I had my scrub brush for 4 yrs. My bathroom non slip floor is like new when I did a scrub on wrdnesday. ❤
Pink stuff was meh, also its smell wasn’t great. BUT I love the scrub daddy paste and it has the best scent😍
The de-piller has been around for decades. My mom has 2 kicking around that still work 30+ years later.
dawn power wash is just foaming dish liquid waterdown it works just fine if you refill them a little under half with water then the rest with dawn dish soap the foamer bottles are amazing though
Also the angry mama works fantastic in our microwave
Dawn needs to make a dishwasher detergent version
I got bar keepers friend because of the hype, ended up preferring regular soap lol
Karcher window vac is a useful device. But in my view the professional version is better than a low grade one despite of having shorter battery life. And it is because the professional device can suck water from every position, including upside down.
I ordered a spin scrub brush and it broke within minutes. I returned it to Amazon and refuse to buy another.
Turquoise
I make my own Dawn powerwash and it works the same. I’m not spending $5 on a refill when I can make my own
How do you make it?
Can I get your idea to see if it’s different from mine?
As Melissa stated in the video, you can't DIY this. The ingredients for the two products are chemically quite different.
@ then how come mine works the same as the original?
My biggest regret was when i bought the Bissell Crosswave. I have darker floors and using this is a nightmare! The amount of streaks and out right dirt spots it leaves behind is awful especially for the price! 250.00! And the soap you put in is also outrageous in price. It also doesn't clean right up to the base boards. Which i kinda knew that but not worth it if you have to use another mop to get to all the spots this apparatus doesn't. I only use it for a real quick clean up. Overall fail!
Oh, I do love my spin-brush.
