That was a great video! Although I was concerned about what to do when you're allergic to feathers. That's why we use paper towels and Swiffer items. So glad to hear about the uses for microfiber cloths.
As someone who’s old enough to be your mother, I feel the need to add a little wisdom and experience from thirty years as a professional cleaner. #1: the wait time for the chemical to do it’s job is called “dwell” time #2: if something doesn’t need chemical dwell time, like glass framed art prints, always spray the cloth, never the glass because the liquid can seep behind and ruin the print. #3: if anyone still has (single sheet)rolled vinyl flooring in their bathroom, entry or kitchen, then the steam mop is PERFECT, because there are no seams. Back in the day, Linoleum and Congoleum were high quality flooring and lasted forever,so some homes may still have them in good condition. #4: a real ostrich feather duster actually works pretty well, you just have to shake them outside. However.the duster that you showed at 3:24,is called an electrostatic duster. If they get really dingy, you can wash them under running water and hang dry,but on a regular basis, you run the hose of your vacuum up and down the fluffy stuff before you dust and it charges it with static electricity. You can actually see the dust jump on to it and hold onto it! Very effective and reusable!
These tips are awesome! Especially the info on single sheet, rolled vinyl flooring and steam mops. I was wondering if the steam mop would unglue that type of floor.
@@lauramitchell6725 True. But the thing I’m confused about is this: for steam mopping to disinfect, I thought you had the move the mop slowly. I only steam mop every three months to disinfect so that’s probably not an issue. 🤷♀️
One thing I would like to add is that if you are cleaning a home with dogs and/or cats-vacuum once before your top to bottom clean and then at the end as usual. This really helps with the pet hair that seems to magically reappear after dusting. I also vacuum bathrooms before and after I clean them to pick up the hair that seems to reappear when you are finished.
Respectfully, I have tried to use microfiber for dusting for the past 9+ years, and it absolutely *does* push dust around and leave dust behind. Recently I got tired of being dissatisfied with microfiber’s dusting performance and went *back* to those fluffy swiffer dusters. They work much much better for me. (For almost all other cleaning tasks I LOVE and still use reusable microfiber.)
@danablanchard2209 That's terrible for the environment to use disposable swiffers! Have you tried a damp regular rag? Like old tees? I hate microfiber, too. I use damp regular rags to dust many things.
@@camis.1347The damp cloth makes the dust black and wet enough to which makes double the work. With all the clothing and other things in our landfills, it’s the least of the mess we’ve made!
@@camis.1347 why the duster? Why not the plastic clothes and boots that lasts for one season, or hygienic products like diapers, or "vegan fur" that is just nothing but plastic, as well? My dream collab is you helping A Hoarder's Heart organize her craft space when she is ready! She is rockin' the basement declutter and I am so excited for her to finally have the reward of space all her own to craft!
That is definitely not a good combo. Cass even puts the closest people under the bus. Let alone stuff, she does not even care about other people. She would advice to throw 30-50-70% of her stuff and it is so easy for her as she does not give a damn to anything. But for others it may not work that way. Mr. Heart is capable enough and doing great already. No need to trigger her anxiety.
OMG - your comment about cluttered homes have the most cleaning supplies was so spot on! I have been recently helping my friend finish cleaning out her family home after her mother passed away last year. Now it was a smaller TOWNHOUSE and the amount of mops-vaccums-dusters was insane! Not to mention we sorted and gave away bags of cleaning supplies to about a dozen people. I think I have enough brand new products from them to last me the next 3 years! And we threw out about the same amount we gave away. and yet, everything was covered in dust or needed a serious wipe down. Buying more products does nothing but CLUTTER up your home if you don't use them!!
It's because we struggle with cleaning. I have 3 floors and prefer to have items on each floor, unfortunately my family changes my plans and moves things so I can't find them. The broom, dustpan, and more.
Or you're me and keep buying more specialized cleaning supplies and spending long amounts of time on big cleaning projects that take multiple days while clutter and laundry and trash bins and dishes pile up XD I think that might just be ADHD tho
From Fly Lady: The reason that an ostrich feather duster works is because there are no oils in the feathers. The fine feathers grab the dust and hang onto it. You just brush the feathers back and forth; there is no right or wrong way to use it. When you are finished, you take the duster outside and shake it briskly to get rid of the dust ("Bless the World!") Wash with soap and water from time to time.
I have one from FLYLADY and clean it as she suggests. It's no problem to clean, maybe because I'm a cricket. Lol I am wondering why she discontinued them, though.
Is FlyLady still around? I used to follow her about 20 years ago but then she went to a different platform and it wasn't as easy to follow her, so I stopped. I still have a purple FlyLady shirt!
My purple FlyLady feather duster started losing feathers the moment I took it out of the package! Every time I pick it up, feathers come loose!! I was NOT impressed with it at all!!
Some great tips! The only thing I’m not a fan of - I’m moving completely away from microfiber. I understand why everyone started using it, however after learning so much about microplastics and how bad microfiber is on the environment, I just can’t continue to purchase it. I have switched to more sustainable cotton alternatives. I think society needs to really consider all of the plastics we use and if there are alternatives. Microfiber is an area that there are just easy substitutions available.
I just can't be bothered to wash microfiber separately from everything else to keep it charged. I have old cotton cloth diapers I used as burp cloths for my daughter that are wonderful rags.
Also, I play guitar and the scratchy callus area of my finger tips kind of "catch" on those cloths. It is irritating. I love a variety of cotton rags! Do we SERIOUSLY need to BUY rags? Never! Many of our clothes/towels that are ruined are just waiting for us to cut them suckers up!
Agreed, microfiber is just engineered plastic. There are better options for the planet. I'm yet to try Swedish reusable clothes, which seem to be a good option, besides recycling old cotton towels and sheets as rags.
I love your videos! My husband and I have cleaned professionally for 39 years. Could I tell you my honest opinion? You were absolutely right when you used the Swiffer! For years we never used it. I thought it was a gimmick. We actually used Murphy’s Oil in a bucket and wiped each surface at our cleaning jobs. (We also used a feather duster.🙁) The houses looked good when we left but got dusty rather quickly. Then we broke down and tried the Swiffer dusters. Amazing! It seems like dirt dust doesn’t land back on it nearly as quickly. We don’t have a lot of money. In fact, we are probably considered poor. (Wages are low in Florida.) But we consider the cost of Swiffers well worth it. So please don’t feel bad that you have recommended them in the past.
I have that issue right now. The house is cleaned and dust is showing and covering the tables like a blanket. I change the filters in. my ceiling (from AC) and they are clean. I can't figure out where all the dust is coming from. I have lived here for 25 years and have never seen it like this before. I do live in the desert and it is a bad year for allergies. Any guesses or suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Swiffer duster is a preference, not a "mistake" - to me the product I actually use is the one I'm going with. I don't have the wand, but I have a handheld and the dusters and it works for me. Yes, cloths are more eco friendly, but I'd rather have my home clean than do it perfectly! (Same for paper towels for certain cleaning jobs). Microfibers also create pollution because of the tiny fibres that can't be filtered out in water treatment.
I love my Swiffer wand because I can clean my ceiling fans without climbing which is dangerous for me due to my knee. Glad someone spoke up. I like paper towels too.
As a washable, reusable option, I put an old decluttered sock over mine, right over the fluffy thing so it has some fullness and squish to it (similar to what she did with the "ghost" duster cloth over the handle)
Yeah, I'm sticking with Swiffer dusters. The fluffy layers that gently brush and get into the corners of picture frames, the sides of vases and light fixtures, and the tops of books without knocking anything over are so much better than a rag on a stick. I have one reusable microfiber dusting head that gets close, but trying to get it a special microfiber wash and dry every week so I can dust just wasn't happening.
A reusable duster head made of old flannel also works well, for those who sew! Same shape as the swiffer one so it still fits on the extending wand, and we just throw it in the wash rather than tossing it.
@@victorialaux2912 preach!!! I forgot about the stupid special wash cycle microfibers require! I have a suspicion if Melissa maker made Swiffer instead of microfiber EVERYTHING... I suspect all the many many drawbacks of microfiber would be illuminated here...
You mentioned bleach and ammonia products but I had an experience several years ago that was potentially dangerous, even though I hadn't mixed products. I dumped out the cat's litter box and poured in the bleach, never thinking that a cat's urine has ammonia. With my next breath, I realized what had happened and I grabbed my dog and ran out onto the patio. Luckily, it all turned out okay. But something to be aware of.
@Jyl Romain I learned from Jackson Galaxy that cat litter boxes should not be cleaned with chemicals (so not bleach) and even those that claim to be more “natural” because at the end of the day, it will be harmful to the kitty and it will also cause the kitty to want to avoid the litter box because his/her scent is gone. He calls them “scents soakers” those make them feel safe. So he was saying a good rinsing with hot water and soap is the most you can do to clean them and it’s worked for me. I think the kind of litter you use also makes a huge difference on how the pee can get stuck to the bottom of the box or not. Oh and some litters can make kitties sneeze/have allergies. I didn’t know this until I got a new kitty who was showing allergy symptoms after a couple of days of being in our home. After all the vet testing and what not, we realized it was the litter.
I did the same thing with fruit bat feed dish - the fruit had fermented? on a hot day and made ome sort of vinegar ir ammonia-like substance, and then I bleached out the dish and very quickly realized there was a problem. 😬
I'm hearing a lot of microfiber products in here, but I hear a lot other places about how bad microfiber is for the environment. What's wrong with just an old fashion cotton cloth, dampen it and dust sticks.
@@Peanut11111 I do as well, or I use old towels, my grand mother and my mother used them and I will continue to use them, ( microfiber clothes feel unnatural on my hands)I understand the way things are made are different but using your common sense also helps , you don't have to soak your furniture or what ever you are cleaning just enough to get things cleaned.
@@robertadunn1572 this is my issue with them as well. I have dry hands and micro fiber cloth sticks to my hand. Which really bugs me. It’s the feel of it.
Remember these are suggestions, not rules. We all have our favorite ways and products to clean with. We just need to do it! (My problem as a retiree having trouble with scheduling! LOL)
I used to be a freelance cleaner and one lady had four Dyson vacuums and she said they didn’t work I cleaned them out and it almost ripped the floor coverings up , next week she brought her mother’s vac and her sisters she called me the vacuum whisperer
Years ago, my trucker told me he used newspaper for window cleaner.newspapers are more absorbent than paper towels so they can soak up more liquid which makes them ideal for wiping away residue from windows quickly and efficiently without leaving behind any smudges or streaks.
I have to paste wax my wooden furniture about every six months. Then I can use Pledge at dinner time, water ruins my table. It easier for the kids and the table always looks great. But we do use a light spray and a microfiber cloth for this task. Very dry climate in Colorado.
i was brought up to wash my floor on hands and knees and that is perfect, but as i get older lol I cant do that anymore, so I use a simple flat head mop for a lot, even dusting under bed. but spray it with a little water and for quick easy cleaning use the flat head, but getting on your hands and knee is best for the corners. I do like the new mop and bucket with one side for washing and the other side for rinsing and then you put the mop head in the spinner.
I’m so glad I’ve never experienced the pink bacteria in my bathroom because I learned to do the drip dry toilet brush thing from Melissa when I first moved out on my own 10 years ago.
My two favorite ladies who have taught me how to clean and organize my home together. Once I'm done here, I'm off to Melissa's channel. 😊 I'm feeling this collab!❤
I only have solid wood furniture in our home so I do use oil as it helps the furniture last longer. I have used mineral oil in a pinch. I still use bleach in my bathroom on deep cleaning days especially in the tub. My mother is near 90 and she has cleaned with bleach all her life.
Everyone knows the Swiffer duster is awesome. The only downside is the guilt over using something with disposable refills. Good thing I don’t clean enough for that to really be a problem 😜
I'm not a fan of microfiber cloths, but I do love using old t-shirts. I also keep bleach in my house, but I rarely use it. Mostly for hard to reach mold and when someone gets the stomach flu.
Oooh Melissa maker is the reason I've been making my own cleaners for over a decade and use to work as a cleaner for many years. Cas please do more of these collabs
Awesome. Melissa converted me to making my own cleaners as well. She especially changed my approach to cleaning mirrors and glass. Now I never have streaks.
I recently decided to move away from microfiber cloth. Yes, they are reusable, but they are harmful to the environment to make, & they don’t break down the way a natural fiber does (like paper or cotton.) Also-use your squeegee for windows & glass doors-not just the shower! They clean sooo much better (& faster!) than any cloth I’ve tried! Thank you for the drip dry toilet brush tip! Life changer!
YES I've been dying for this collab for years. These 2 women changed my life. Long time fellow Canadian subscriber. We have been needing this collab and need more of you two together
I was a house cleaner for many years. I carried my own bag of supplies. Vinegar/water mixed in a spray bottle, a stiff brush for stubborn soap scum, and lots and lots of rags.
Melissa Maker is great inspiration to get to cleaning. And I hate to say it but for the time being I am sticking with my Swiffer. Somehow that duster gets me to dust better than any cloth, thanks ADHD!
Her reasons for not using the Swiffer were not convincing. I’ve tried nice microfiber cloths and the Swiffer picks up dust better than any microfiber cloth. I hate dusting and will avoid it at all costs unless I use the Swiffer.
@@BbGun-lw5viYes, agree. I find the Swiffer Duster does a better job than microfiber cleaning cloths as well. I do use both depending on the cleaning job. Also, I'm lucky enough to buy the Swiffer cloths at a discounted price with my employee discount.
I loathe electrostatic dusters. If the dust can be shaken off, what do you think happens when you’re moving it around from one shelf or piece of furniture to the next? Use one in a brightly lit room or where the sunshine is coming through and you’ll see all that dust swirling around. Swiffers are the best for places that don’t need much dusting. I usually use one for light dusting and then save it. Next time I use the same one for heavy dusting and get a fresh one for the light dusting. Yes, the extendable wand is flimsy and intended to break. Someone should come up with a better extendable wand. I’d buy it.
I have waterproof vinyl floor and my steam mop works well! I love the way my floors feel after the steam mop. I also don’t use it daily. Just for my deep clean days. I use a spray microfiber mop daily.
Thank you and Melissa! I have a small house (less than 1000 sq ft). I made the dish soap and water spray. I just dusted, cleaned mirrors and glass, vacuumed and dry mopped the whole house in 30 minutes!! I had never used the dry mop pad and just "sneezed" the floor before ... game changer!
I have to say that it’s Cas that has helped me the most to have a cleaning system that I actually do. I have a daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly and semi yearly system that works for me. It includes the swifter dusters and 2x a year I do a more thorough cleaning. Maybe my house isn’t as clean as the next person but it’s a huge improvement over what it used to be. Thanks Cas!
I absolutely hate microfiber cloths 😊 I agree that it is more sensible to use washable cloth to do up high or major surface dusting, but for tiny or delicate items you really can’t beat swiffer. I have a large book collection and also collect small figures and it is PERFECT for that, and a cloth is awful for that. So it really depends on your task
And that one woman sells microfiber cloths as a business, so of course she is going to say that they are the best thing. I do like them for certain things, but they are not the end-all and be-all.

Love this. I use no bleach on anything. I pretty much clean everything with Dawn, vinegar, and baking soda. Very cheap and non toxic. Highly recommend Everyday Cheapskate for her homemade cleaning product recipes.
Also I’ve learned that microfiber cloths are full of the tiny plastic micro plastics that I am. Trying to avoid. No more giant bottles of laundry detergent in my house….no electric dish detergent bottles or even the little plastic pods for the doshwasher…I found special ones that are just the powder in a small shape….imagine.
I do enjoy watching your videos but I have a couple of comments about this video. As a nurse of nearly 30 years, one thing I've learned is that a 1:10 solution of bleach to water will kill just about any type of bacteria. I've used it to clean contaminated hospital equipment. Bleach is the recommended cleaner for C. diff. My other comment is regarding the use of furniture polish. I have found a Pledge multi-surface antibacterial cleaner that I like to use on my furniture. It cleans, dusts and can be used on nearly any surface, including glass. I find the best products are the ones that can be used in multiple ways. Thank you.
I think a collaboration with one of the garden bloggers like Growfully with Jenna, Gardener Scott, Roots and Refuge, or epic gardening would be really great. My shed is pretty disorganized and I'd love to see some good hacks for keeping garden supplies in order.
I think it would be a great collaboration with you and Midwest Magic Cleaning. He helps a lot of hoarders, and coming up with the appropriate cleaning type could be a game changer for some of his clients.
I have lvp flooring and I use a spinwave mop! I love it. It's got microfiber washable pads no steam and you control how much water/cleaning solution you get on the floor! It's awesome, and best part no icky water buckets or cleaning the mop just toss the pads in the laundry! It was also much less than the steam mops and crossover vacuum mops!

I have never owned a dishwasher but my mum taught me a trick with dishes. Most of us nowadays do not rush into the kitchen after every meal to wash the dishes, so food is often WELDED to the plates by the time we get to them. Do this. Fill the sink/bowl with hot, soapy water and leave the dishes to soak for ten to fifteen minutes before breaking out the dishcloth. The soap and hot water breaks down all the yukky food stuff and it's then just a matter of swishing it off with the cloth.

Maybe it was just my particular grandmother, but whatever advice she ever gave me about home remedies and natural organic cleaning including bleach has always served me very well. We should remember that just because something is engineered by today’s standards or technologically designed, it doesn’t actually mean that it’s better, I mean it could be better but it also might not be better

My library has antique shelves and furniture polish is great, it leaves a visible and positive difference. The newer shelves streak, though, I think the finishes on wood have changed so modern made furniture doesn't need those polished in the same way.

I’ve tried nice microfiber cloths and the Swiffer picks up dust better than any microfiber cloth. I hate dusting and will avoid it at all costs unless I use the Swiffer. Regarding the environmental damage of the Swiffer. Almost all environmental damage is being done by industrial companies and not by the consumer. These companies have convinced us that it’s regular people who are to blame. They don’t want us to focus our attention on them.
Industrial companies do the damage BECAUSE the consumer buys their products. Can’t just pass the blame to the “drug dealers” and not leave some for the users.
I have a swifter handle that I made “ homemade swiffer heads. I use them then toss them into the wash when needed. I like to clean with Murphy Wood oil soap. It can clean many surfaces. I also like Dawn and water to wipe down counters. If the ants come, I use vinegar in a spray bottle to clean. Most furniture today says not to use cleaners only a damp cloth to wipe down. It’s usually finished with Polyacrylic, that’s why it feels plastic. Grandmas old wood furniture gets proper cleaning with product for wood, old English for us. Sometimes my microfiber cloths leave little bits of dust pieces. If it’s wet, I’m just making more of a mess than cleaning. Does that mean I need to retire this one and try a new one? For paper towels and napkins, unless I’m cleaning up a broken egg on the floor, I have made cloth napkins for every day use rolled and in a little basket on the table. Just use up your material and have fun with it. Now my husband, that’s another story , he loves to kill a tree with his paper towel use.

The makeshift duster for ceilings or flat surfaces with any long device are great. But really need the Swiffer duster (not a cheaper version) for dusting items-frames, knick knacks, chandeliers, books, etc, using the dust attracting technology of Swiffer without knocking over the said items. Of course if you shake the duster there will be some fallout-the solution to that is DON’T SHAKE IT. The rule to maximize the Swiffer is to go from clean to dirty. So I will use it last on the dirtiest/dustiest something like top of tall furniture or along baseboards, under the edge of furnitures.

They probably couldn't find what they had (buried under piles), so they just went out and bought more...😀
It's because we struggle with cleaning.
@@miag8493Do you run from floor to floor to find a toilet brush? I have!
Do Not mix vinegar with bleach, etc., too (you'll meet cute firemen, though).
I love my FlyLady duster! Most are not ostrich feathers though.
I have one from FLYLADY and clean it as she suggests. It's no problem to clean, maybe because I'm a cricket. Lol I am wondering why she discontinued them, though.
Didn't know this 😮
Is FlyLady still around?
There is a washing bag called Guppy Friend made for washing synthetic fibers. I like the microfiber but I have looked into it myself. Not good.
@@tawnalynelle1 Yes! Old worn-in tee shirts make amazing rags
Yes ma’am ,same sit here but in tx… my hands gladly thank the swilffer after all those yrs of harder work
I have that issue right now.
@@kg811 I’ve read that dry climates produce a lot of dust.
@@kg811When did you last clean your ducts?
I LOVE swiffer and will FOREVER use them 😂 I have zero guilt about disposables LOL
Cleaning top to bottom and using DIY products are two of many things I have learned from Melissa. She makes cleaning fun!
Oh yes!
Totally agree with you!
And wiping in the S pattern. Such sy big difference! 😄
OMG my two favorite decluttering and cleaning content creators together! My heart is happy! Melissa allowed me to give up the bleach years ago.
That totally sounds like something I would do 😅
Such a useful warning , thank you !!!!
Grabbed the dog, but left the cat?
Maybe because Melissa Maker sells microfiber cleaning cloths?
I hate MF. I only use cotton. And it works well and is easy to wash.
I use the old t shirts.
LOL)
I'm keeping😅 my swiffer duster.
I used to be a freelance cleaner and one lady had four Dyson vacuums and she said they didn’t work I cleaned them out and it almost ripped the floor coverings up , next week she brought her mother’s vac and her sisters she called me the vacuum whisperer
I think a collaboration with Ariel, awkward mom would be great. She is always trying different cleaning methods.

Years ago, my trucker told me he used newspaper for window cleaner.newspapers are more absorbent than paper towels so they can soak up more liquid which makes them ideal for wiping away residue from windows quickly and efficiently without leaving behind any smudges or streaks.
For dry climates, wood furniture does need an oil based "polish" about once a year (more if it sees high use).
absolutely
I have to paste wax my wooden furniture about every six months. Then I can use Pledge at dinner time, water ruins my table. It easier for the kids and the table always looks great. But we do use a light spray and a microfiber cloth for this task. Very dry climate in Colorado.
I love “feed n wax”
My mother in law is adamant about using lemon oil only on her wood furniture.
@@jhwilliams6550 depends on if it’s finished furniture I’m sure
i was brought up to wash my floor on hands and knees and that is perfect, but as i get older lol I cant do that anymore, so I use a simple flat head mop for a lot, even dusting under bed. but spray it with a little water and for quick easy cleaning use the flat head, but getting on your hands and knee is best for the corners. I do like the new mop and bucket with one side for washing and the other side for rinsing and then you put the mop head in the spinner.
I’m so glad I’ve never experienced the pink bacteria in my bathroom because I learned to do the drip dry toilet brush thing from Melissa when I first moved out on my own 10 years ago.
if it's pink, it's not bacteria most likely, it is yeast (learned in microbiology)
I add bleach and water in the brush holder and change it once a week.
My two favorite ladies who have taught me how to clean and organize my home together. Once I'm done here, I'm off to Melissa's channel. 😊 I'm feeling this collab!❤
I agree!! Love these two. Awesome team.
@Gnope Along with a coffee and a cookie? LOL
Exactly. Using a swiffer duster is not a “mistake“. It is a cleaning choice.
To cut back on that just vacuum it and get the most dust off! Use again
@@elizabethYtorres good advice 👍🏻
😂😂😂
Exactly, I dust maybe 3 times a month. So it isn’t a total waste lol 😅
So I've read that microfiber cloths release plastic into the water. What else can you use? I know I used to diapers.
I use cotton wash cloths. I’ve marked the ones that I use for cleaning cloths versus facial cloths.
:)
Melissa Maker is great inspiration to get to cleaning. And I hate to say it but for the time being I am sticking with my Swiffer. Somehow that duster gets me to dust better than any cloth, thanks ADHD!
I use my swiffer but use a microfiber cloth.
Also remember that for those of us with allergies and asthma, cleaning a duster by shaking it, is horrible
The collaboration I didn’t even know I wanted, but definitely needed.
Exactly!
So happy to see this collab!! I’ve been watch Melissa for 10 years, she taught me how to clean more than my own mother did 😅. Great tips.
Use whatever works for you. No judgement.
Thanks Cas!
I agree. Cass is informative and knows how to impart information without sounding like she knows everything
I will never get rid of Bleach. Also, I use newspaper and news ads to clean my mirrors and glass. Works like a charm.
@@susannovak8263 ah-ha!!! 😂😂😂😂 that explains why it’s such a Terrible Mistake to use anything else.

Love that you guys did this together! Great vid
I LOVE you two working together. Two of my favorites! 😊
Thank you.
I love this collab- so much more fun and authentic than the zoom collabs that are so popular now!
Hannah's Happy Home and Megan Fox Unlocked are two of my faves!

Y’all are great together!!!!!
There are reusable washable refills for the Swiffer wand. I have them and they're great.
Perhaps a collab with The Awkward Mom-she’s fun!!! I think y’all would have a blast together 😁

Maybe it was just my particular grandmother, but whatever advice she ever gave me about home remedies and natural organic cleaning including bleach has always served me very well.
Plus microfibre cloths are bad for the environment too
A swiffer is the best thing for cleaning book shelves.
Industrial companies do the damage BECAUSE the consumer buys their products. Can’t just pass the blame to the “drug dealers” and not leave some for the users.
Being the devils advocate here but if you buy their product don't you encourage them to continue to be a problem.they have no incentive to change.
you two are my favorite cleaning and organizing UA-cam peeps...what a joy to see you teaming up. Great tips! ❤
I love Mellissa too. Cass I would love to see a colab with "That awkward mom" she is funny and she tries out all the methods and talks about the advantages/disadvantages

Absolutely! Microfiber cloths do not replace the Swiffer.
I agree completely. I also learned (after one made it into the washer by mistake) the Swiffer can be washed and reused a few times.
@@gumbootgardener I was about to say the same thing! Just wash them out in soapy water, rinse & leave to dry & you can keep reusing them until they fall apart! ☺️
Love the new pic above the fireplace. Very Spring
Microfiber is not biodegradable so it is better to use the thick cotton cloths even if they do stain at times.
I use Method wood floors cleaner. It works a treat, & smells so good! I sprinkle it on, & then dry mop.
