I couldn’t imagine going more than one week without laundering my sheets! I always sleep better when my sheets are clean, and bonus if the weather accommodates hanging the sheets outside to dry. 😴☺️
I have a zip-on full mattress cover, then 2 quilted matress pads on top of that.. I wash the pads at least monthly when I do my weekly wash of the bed linens. The zip-on cover is vacuumed then and hand cleaned a couple of times a year. If I had the energy I'd wash bed linens twice a week. I love to get into bed with fresh clean sheets.

@@annerandolph6000 Nobody was being judged by that comment! She was just saying she likes fresh sheets and cant imagine going more than one week without washing. And weird you feel the need to use SCRIPTURE over a opinion on laundry.

While raising children and caring for my elderly mom, I learned a lot about cleaning mattresses. I'll add one thing to your excellent advice. When cleaning stains, baking soda also helps both to absorb odor and moisture and to prevent mold. Sprinkle on after cleaning and blotting and let it sit for a while then vacuum. Really helps!
I like to clean but I REALLY like it after some ice. Def one of my favorite pastimes
Side note: has anyone ever seen someone clean their bath tub with oven cleaner? I would never do that. But we have looked at weird ways people clean things with on this channel because Melissa wants to show us what NOT to do. Which I appreciate. But you talking about the oven made me think of it. I am afraid to use the self cleaning feature on my oven. I rent and I don’t want that responsibility if something goes wrong. I don’t allow spills to stay there. I clean it up after it cools. In my first apartment when I moved out on my own I used the self cleaning feature on my oven and it terrified me! Never again. Now I own my home and I'm still perfectly content just cleaning it by hand.

Different types of flooring have different maintenance requirements. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
I don't like using disposable products. So in the bathroom, the cloth I've used on the toilet goes into a bucket. Then I use a new cloth.

Mattresses are so expensive, it's worth the minor extra expense of a dust mite cover, then a plush mattress pad/protector. Then there's no mattress cleaning necessary; you launder the cover in hot water, which is so much more effective. The dust mite cover keeps mites from getting into your mattress and it also protects your investment from (heaven forbid) a bedbug invasion.
Totally unrelated to the cleaning.. but can you tell us what hair tools you use!? 😅 your hair is fabulous

I love 💜💜 your vintage chesterfield! Btw how do you clean it and care? Thank you. I do toilets super cleaning every 3 months. Remove/Dismount toilet seats, let them be in a cleaning solution about 30mn, scrub, let it dry and put them back in place. Easier than being scrubbing like a mad person. I do brush and scrub every day. But 3 months cleaning does do the job more efficiently. And your nose/smell will thank you.

Last week I decided to go over not fresh body fluid stain on my mattress and thinking of your natural product, I indeed used vinegar and water and a small soft brush and the stain disappeared completely then I took the microfibre cloth and absorbed the moisture. After which I used a hairdryer to the area where the moisture. My worry now is how will I know that it has absorbed the moisture deep in there. Please advise.
Hi Melissa. I send you warm greetings from cold Chicago in March 2024. I love your cleaning videos and have bought and downloaded your DIY cleaning recipes. I note that you seem to contradict yourself in a couple of recipes where you do combine baking soda and vinegar - which you say in your videos is a no no.
Your recipe for cleaning ovens in the DIY recipe book includes combining vinegar and baking soda.
It's the same combination of baking soda and vinegar for the silver cleaner.
Please clarify .

How long can the DIY floor cleaner last once mixed?
What are thoughts on mattress sprays? I’ve done a DIY with witch hazel, water, and essential oils in a spray bottle. I spray it on the sheets about once or twice a week in between washing sheets. Is that a bad idea?

I have a gas oven. I can’t turn gas off. Where I live only a certified professional can turn the gas off and on. They are expensive. How do I clean my oven in this situation?
What do you recommend for tile floor? We use water, alcohol, and a tiny bit of dish soap
I will put in a spray bottle,dish soap,water and a little alcohol as a disinfector.

I have a million mattress protectors and sheets on my bed. More accurately I have 9:
1. Hypoallergenic mattress protector case
2. A second mattress protector case
3. Sheet over the mattress
4. Another sheet over the mattress
5. Foam bed topper encased in - you guessed it - a mattress protector case
6. A large sheet over the whole thing (foam bed topper and the mattress)
7. Another large sheet over the whole thing
8. A thin mattress topper with elastic straps that go under the whole thing
9. One final bedsheet, to rule them all.
As someone who has severe health issues and allergies, I do not mess around with my bed protection lol.
So many friends of mine recommend not using self-cleaning option because it can smoke up and u can't open door once cycle starts. Is that true?
I will never again use my oven’s self clean cycle. I used it once and the temp was so hot that it burned out the circuit board. Thankfully I was still at the tail end of my warranty and they fixed it but it’s now out of warranty and I’m not taking that chance again

@@bereasonable8018 when we bought our stove, the salesperson warned against the self clean setting for that reason.
We have a Gaggenau oven. The self clean option DOES lock the door. That’s because it gets freaking HOT, several hundred degrees. You can see it smokes up inside the oven but I have never smelled anything leaking out.
When we bought our oven, the salesperson told us not to use the self clean function because it could damage the electronics.
Is Vinegar and Bleach the most toxic, dangerous combination of cleaning/disinfecting DIY products?
It is certainly caustic and should never be mixed.
@@clairebordeaux Ok, I'lll never mix them. How about if you use a toiled cleaner with some vinegar to clean and later you have a disinfectant with some highly diluted bleach in the water, is that going to be also dangerous?

No that should be ok as long as you flush it a couple times after the vinegar to rinse it first.
Please use disposable mask while cleaning toilet and spectacle also
